Speaker 1 (00:01):
Darcy Autograph, sports talk host busy watching the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I know I'm not the massive baseball fan, but this
is so good because it's the East coast, West coast,
it's coming up to the crunch, and it looks like
at Yankee Stadium the Dodgers might just get it done.
It's the bottom of the eighth, they're up seven to
six over at New York.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
So you're just in.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
There now oh and two, right now for the first
bat up, So can they pull it equal and then
take it to the next innings that we will seek.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
And it's just this is good right to the crunch
because la the Dodgers were getting absolutely fried and then
they pulled out I think it was in the fifth
five home runs.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Like what, none of what you said I understand. I
understand none of the I don't know what any of
the stuff means. It's the only reason that you're talking
about the Dodgers because Matt Heath has been talking about
it for three days.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
No No, because it's been on in the sports department
for the last week.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Is that also because Matt Heath has been talking about
it no notice.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Because we work in the sports department.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
It is Live International bought on, so he put on,
I don't care, but as soon as I buy into it,
I'm excited by it.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
I used to watch baseball.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Back in the day when I was a lot younger,
when jose Consakas was there, and he used to take
an order amount of drugs in order to hit the
ball the distance he did. It was a freak show.
It was like a Michelin man with it with a toothpick.
But I went and saw a game of ball when
I was over in San Francisco, and it was an
incredible experience. Americans can do live sport.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
It was stunning. So I had used.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
That the replayed TVs that the people turning up with
with food and that's the way to go.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I had a different experience to you. But Matt Heth
told me it may be because I bought cheap tickets.
But I said to him, I couldn't get into it
when I was in New York because I couldn't see
the ball because it's just so fast, right, and it's
not like cricket where there's like a good run up
and then the bowling action and stuff, like it's just
a dude standing there throwing the ball. And it's so
fast you just you can't see it.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
With hockey like that, it's really hard to see the park.
But when you go live to a game.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Because it's so you think it was too far away.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Where the replay screen in San Francisco is so big
it'd be three or four times as big as Eden
Park itself. You can't miss anything. Everything see for you
to watch. So a little men down the action because
we've got cheap seats up the top, but then your
seat to watch the screen.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Oh, the screen.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
It was really really but the beer was phenomenally expensive.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
I got a can of beer cost nearly twenty New Zealand.
It was good beer, though I might.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Oh come off as it's in the States, it's not good. No, no,
it was.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
It was a craft beer out of San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Was sitting around about six point eight percent. It was
an IPA double I PA.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
You only need one of those, don't you for six
point eight percent my age to feel a little physic?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Don't you need to go to the bathroom anyway, I'm going.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
To name the squad today. Do you need to talk
to me about being would you like to make a bit?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Well, we've got to be over eighteen r eighteen bit responsibly.
But this weekend there's a big fixture coming up because
Wellington taking on Auckland.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
It's the first derby in the A League.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Oh wow, a New Zealand derby in the You know
who's going to win?

Speaker 3 (03:09):
The never read about it?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I'll come off when.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
If you think you know who? Do you think Auckland? Okay?
Auckland are paying two dollars seventy and Wellington two forty five.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
They're a warm but what they are at home the
draws three forty five. That might be the way to
go with that, but it might be worth a while.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Table two from town Wellington the second of the table.
They're both locked at the very top of the table.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
The only thing about Wenington is that Wellington have just
come back from Perth, so they might have heavy legs
after climbing on the plane all the way back, Whereas
all Auckland have got to do is get on a
plane and fly down to Wellington. I don't know what
the weather's like down there. There's a good chance they
might be terrified by the time they get off the
paken one. No, not that I'm talking about the cross

(03:59):
winds at the air. They might just God, I'd rather
fly to person land here, so we'll see that.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
That should be a big one again. You know, I
reckon that's off. You think those numbers are rough? Are
they no good? It can run with three forty five.
That's it, go the drawin. Thank you, Darcy, Thank you
very much.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Dars is going to be back this evening seven o'clock
