The Warriors have re-signed Te Maire Martin for the 2026 season, ending speculation on his future at the NRL club.

Martin had been shaping for a move away from the Warriors earlier in the year, but has proven invaluable in recent times as a 'Fix-it man' in the side ravaged by injuries.

Sportstalk host D'Arcy Waldegrave explains further.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Darcy water Grape sports talk hosters with me.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Hello, Darce, isn't death beyond help? I mean dead? What
are they going to know?

Speaker 1 (00:07):
You've forgotten the story of Lazarus now and Jesus. Actually,
for that matter, you can come back.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I didn't forget that it's possible to come back, but
I just don't believe it.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
To Mighty Marson Hay.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah, well he's got another year.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Only a year.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I don't know what to make of this. Only a year,
you'd think more. I was talking with one of my
colleagues at the Herald, Alex Powell. He seems to think.
He wonders with Metcalf how long hell actually lasts? And
this might be a bit of a let's just wait
and see, because of course, as a young man who's
had an incredible career so far, I expect to be

(00:44):
quite in demand. So maybe they're just covering bases. I
think to Marighty Martin doesn't want to go anywhere. He's
a fantastic player who plays all over the back line.
I thought he would get the knot on the halves
at the start of this, but he didn't, so he's
just signed. Look I'm here for another year.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Yeah, So was that his choice or theirs?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Do you think for a year, I'd say theirs. I'd
say you were signed on. You want some kind of
value consistency in your contract. But hey, look, let's face it,
contracts in the NRL.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Really Nah, So we're having a UFC fight at the
White House.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I still can't wear. I looked at the date. What
day is the thirteenth of No, that's not April Fool's Day?
Is it somewhere in August? Falls date?

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Trumpy did say that he was going to do this
a few months.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Trumpy, it's a bit familiars. Forty seven is the leader
of the free world or something?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Forty seven will call him?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Why forty seven is the forty seventh president of States.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
County when he got ten forty five?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
You get to choose, but yes.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
More numbers, right? So apparently this is going to be
July fourth, which is a rather auspicious day when it
comes to the Americans. They get a bit happy about
that happening next year, the next year, And what's happening
next year on the fourth? What's the date? Why is
it relevant?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Fourth of July? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Beyond that, I believe it's the two hundred and fifty
years celebration around then, isn't it. And they're going to
celebrate by sticking all of violence in the White House.
They're going to do it in the Oval office.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
You can't accuse Donald Trump of being classy, can you?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Not?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Much? The working man?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
If they do it in the in the office or
somewhere in the White House, they're going to have to
redoal the Chintz and gold because it was really bad
for the lighting. That WWE is going to be next. Wow,
the body's been thrown off death.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Tell me quickly, what are you doing tonight?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
What am I doing tonight? I'm actually talking about the
complete lack of volunteers.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
In speare I saw that there currently, yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
And it's like, wow, I had no idea.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
How brief isn't it down forty percent or something?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Our amateur association in the different areas? And why that's
actually stopping, why that's not getting any tracks? And what
can be done to lift it up again? Because this
is the this is the heart of not only sport,
but you think number of areas, the heart of the
community totally the local class.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
You know what, it's good for kids to have their
parents there so it's a pity that this is happening now.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I mean, it's just like putting the crash tackle bags
up on the posts or anything like that. I think
a lot of it is people get dragged in. They've
got one thing, next thing, you know, they're carrying the
whole club about, right. So we'll find out why, and
we'll find out what we can do about it, and
we'll ask mums and dads and people in the community,
why are they doing.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Okay, Darcy, thank you, looking forward to it. Darcy Watergrave

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
