Elliott Smith: Sportstalk host ahead of the Paul Gallen-Sonny Bill Williams boxing bout

Sonny Bill Williams is over the chatter and is ready to let his hands do the talking in tonight's boxing bout against Paul Gallen in Sydney.

It'll be the first time in three years either fighter has stepped inside the ring, with both acknowledging it's their final dance in the squared circle. 

Sportstalk host Elliott Smith explains further.

Elliott Smith of the Sport. Hey Ellien, Hey Ron, good
to have you on. So this guy at the center
of the ref abuse controversy in company says it wasn't him,
it was the ref.

This is remarkable, isn't it. Remember they suspended all play

out and said, actually it was the ref who punched me.
I wasn't part of this at all. Apparently the vision
supposedly shows him pushing the referee, but he says the

vision that he's seen hasn't suspended on that. So all
of this has come because they've suspended rugby, as I said,
for a week And now it turns out that maybe,
of course we're believing one side or here on one
side of the story here, and we haven't heard from
Hotophaniel Company have really straight battered this that maybe it
was the referee who sort of rolled up the fist
because Darren Piwai says he shook hands with him then

raised an issue from the game. I think it was
about the amount of at a time extra time at
the end of the game, and that was when the
referee allegedly rolled up his fist and had to crack
it the Marna College head coach. Goodness, So this is
all going to go to a hearing I think next week, right,
But there's some part of it that isn't going to
be presented. There some part of it that's been here separately,
So it all seems really really murky. So I think

we can all agree that the whole suspending rugby for
a week was probably a good idea to try, and
you stand down on this absolutely, but it feels like
maybe they've gone about it the wrong way and got
the wrong story and the wrong end of the stick.

Bill Williams versus Paul Gallon fight. I know you spoke
to Sonny Bill Williams a few weeks ago. He was

in good neck for it. Paul Gallon. This is the
fight that people have been looking forward to for a decade.
Too oldly floks who never really liked each other during
their career about to settle some differences. I know there's
got a big crowd, obviously pay per view audience around here.
I'm fascinated to see how it all unfolds later on.

Do you know how much it costs to I think.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
It's forty five dollars. It isn't cheap.

That's more than because I got Sky just for the
game on Saturday, the All Blacks on Saturday Night, which
I think was about twenty five dollars. Since it's quite pricey.

Forty five dollars for one night of viewing. I mean,
you get the David Naka fight, you'll get the SBW
Gallon fight.

Is someone going to get knocked out quickly? Do you reckon?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Probably? I think it'll be it'll be done quickly. I
think they'll both want to knock each other out. They've
said as much.
