Shannon Gatfield: Kainga Ora spokesperson on Kainga Ora standing by decision to not evict tenants

Kainga Ora is defending not evicting a single tenant, despite more than 6000 complaints this year.

Eighty-four percent are for non-serious issues, like unmowed lawns and too frequent visitors.

Spokesperson Shannon Gatfield says the agency warns people before turfing them out of their homes and that it's been an effective strategy.

Shannon Gatfield says in ninety percent of cases they don't get another complaint after the first warning.
