The teams will clash tomorrow morning for the third time in the past 16 months.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
We've got the blackfound semi final in the Women's Rugby
World Cup tomorrow morning. They're up against Canada, which is
going to be interesting because the last two times the
teams have met, we drew once and then we lost once.
Step Tehide Fox played for the Black Ferns at two
Rugby World Cups.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
High Steph Kielder, how's it going?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I'm well, thanks mate. How do you rate our chances
of beating them?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Oh? Look, we know how to play finals forty and
going from the last two times, I know that it's
been a loss and a draw and they're pretty close
for the girls. But New Zealand up for it. And
you know they haven't had their full eighty performance on
show yet, but we can see what they can do
in moments and I think if they piece it altogether,

(00:43):
they'll go well tomorrow morning.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah, how far has I mean, We've obviously made it
all the way through to the squad has made it
all the way through to the finals before. How far
has Canada made it?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I think they've only ever made it to Oh, they've
made it to the final. Twenty fourteen they played uh
England and yeah lost that lost that final. That was
the Yeah, we didn't even make it to the that
was before they had quarterfinals, so we we bowed out
and didn't never make it through to the semis. So yeah,
Canada made it through there.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
But but then we've got the mean to lead, right
because we've made it through the finals and won the
finals heaps of times.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, exactly, And that's what that's what I mean about
playing finals for the other girls knowing it's you know,
it's in their blood, and then they know they've they've
got a standard to with hold on that jersey and
I think that they'll definitely pull one out for this
And oh no doubts. It's going to be a tough game.
I mean, as we've seen in the quarterfinals, South Africa

(01:40):
really brought it to the girls, which was good. I
think we had a tougher semi finals, so that's good,
good for the girls going forward. But yeah, it's going
to be a great game. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
How how bad luck is it though? To have Georgia
Miller out?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Oh yeah, I mean she's an amazing player and I
guess those of us from Kenterbury know what she's We've
seen her come through the ranks and yeah, manage to
have her for one year for Kennerbury and she's you know,
she's she's a huge talent. But I have no doubt
in now our Lucy's. I mean, we've got Kennedy coming

(02:15):
through and she's a co captain. You know, she's got leadership,
she's she's got the skills on the field and she
she'll bring it no matter what, She'll do anything for
that team. She'll leave it all on the field. So
I think we've definitely got the back up. I mean,
it's not ideal, but hopefully she'll be with us for
this for the finals. All going well, but I know
the girls are going to think about one game at

(02:35):
a time and we've got to get this over the
line first.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Good stuff, Steff Listen, thank you very much for talking
us through that stuff. Till hired a fox who's a
former black Field And by the way, the game is
on six a m. For more from Heather Duplessy Allen Drive,
