At the end of each week, Mike Hosking takes you through the big-ticket items and lets you know what he makes of it all.

Smith & Caughey's: 7/10

A bright spot in a tough old economic week. Smaller is better than nothing at all.

Jobs: 6/10

In this weird old world being not as bad as you thought isn't really good news.

Power: 1/10

This is the scandal of the week, or month, or year, and the last Government. Power drives economies and we don’t have enough and what we have is the most expensive in the world. If you can't make enough power you're little more than Third World.

Tim Walz: 6/10

Because he's refreshing and, yet, a mistake. He's affable, funny and likeable, but of the left. You don’t get middle America on your side by being left of Kamala.

Shaun Johnson: 8/10

Great guy, great player, great story and great legacy.

The Olympics: 6/10

I feel the same as last week. I'm not feeling it. It could be the time zone. But I'll tell you this for nothing - I bet the Australians are up at all hours and loving it.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Time now to mark the week, the little piece of
news and current events. It's as popular as a well
a place at the Olympics of the sport. You're a
bit crap at Smith and Koe seven. A bright spot
in a tough hole economic week. Smaller is better, but
it's better than nothing at all, isn't it? Jobs six?
In this weird old world, being not as bad as
you thought, which is what we got this week, isn't

(00:20):
really good news, Adrian four. I mean, this coming week,
we're going to work ourselves into a frenzy yet again
over the state of the place, only for him to
tell us it needs to be even worse. Power one.
This is the scandal of the week, the month, the year,
and indeed the last government. Power drives economies, and we
don't have enough, and what we have is the most
expensive in the world. And if you can't make enough power,

(00:41):
you are little more than third world tim Wall six
that if he's willing to get off the couch and
show up, so because he's refreshing and yet a mistake, affable, funny, likable, yep,
but of the left. And you do not get Middle
America on your side by being left of Karala Britain
three Embarrassment of the week as a bunch of fat,

(01:03):
buzz cut yobs gave the place a shameful reputation. Dominic
Perret six admitted vaccine mandates and New South Wales were
a mistake. Couldn't work out though whether that was good
because it was honest or Macavellian because he actually knew
it all along. Shawn Johnson eight. Great guy, great player,
great story, great legacy maths seven because of the urgency

(01:24):
with which the government got stuck into this. The results
at this point are a national disgrace. Of course. May
Ward votes seven because democracies back. Mind you interesting to
look at the protesters in the North. How is it
you can be so opposed to freedom of choice? They
were protesting against democracy. It's too mad for words. Scrubs seven.

(01:44):
I'm little Superman. As in the television show Word this week,
I read is it ready for a reboot after fourteen years?
How good would that be? The Olympic six gold for
New Zealand. Look, I feel the same to be frank
as I did last week. I'm really not feeling I mean,
it could, yes, it could the time zone, but I'll
tell you this for nothing a bit. The Australians are
up at all hours and loving it. And that is
the week copies on the website And if you take

(02:07):
eighteen of these, screw them up and stick them down
your shorts, you can pretend you are Anthony Amoretti. For
