I know we all think that when we're grieving, its just about US! To be honest, I use to think and feel the same way, until I realize the affect it had on my daughter. We have to understand that during our grief journey, we may not be the only now struggling with the loss. We have to be more aware how others around us are feeling.
We, as women have the tendency to always feel the need to be strong. We think strength is a MUST. Let me tell you that, that's the furtherest from the truth. Allow yourself to not be okay, take time for yourself, allow yourself to feel and mourn. You are WOMAN, you are not superwoman you can not hold it all in. Stop being a ticking time bomb waiting to explode, feel those feels girl.
I recently loss my Aunt (Feb.2022), and I realized that I have been stuck in Stage One of Grief (Denial), I guess I felt as though if I didn't face it then it wasn't real. So I've decided to take you all long my journey of getting through Stage One and walking into Stage Two (anger).
A lot of times people fail to understand or connect with a surviving sibling, their attention automatically goes to the parents, spouse or children. Not realizing the traumatic affect that the loss had on the surviving sibling(s).
So I just wanted to touch on the importance of checking on the surviving sibling(s) and share my experience.
