Speaker 3 (00:37):
Thank you all for tuning in one eight seven seven
Doctor Dolly one eight seven seven D O C D
A L.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I well until the hostages are home.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Now, I'm not going to be celebrating, but I sure
the hell I'm optimistic about what has happened with the
Trump peace Plan as it pertains to the war against
the war that happened in which the Hamas initiated a
massacre on Israelis, which had then ensued into the Israeli
Hamas War affecting Gosins, affecting Israelis. And we are just
(01:12):
days away from this being done, and for President Trump
to be able to put this together, which he did.
I mean, yes, obviously beaving Natanyahu was involved, obviously Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, other countries surrounding countries, but it.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Was Trump that got this done. And what makes this
so historic?
Speaker 3 (01:31):
And i understand, there's a lot of people that don't
like Trump, so they're they're you know, they're hardly covering it,
or they're not going to give credit where credit's due.
This is something where I don't care if a Republican
or Democrat. This is huge And why is it so huge? Well,
for two years we have been shocked at how nobody
(01:51):
has given a damn about how Hamas came in massacred, raped,
shattered pelvises of children that they raped, beheaded kids, murdered
and tortured wives and kids in front of their parents
and family. I mean, just barbaric discussing stuff, taking hostages,
killing and torturing the hostages.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Nobody gives it himn. Nobody comes to help.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Finally, we have other countries now involved because people say,
do you know dot Hamas is gonna renig? Why is
Hamas going to this time around? Well, now you got
some heavies in there, you got some big countries that
are are involved. All eyes are now on Hamas, and
(02:37):
Hamas also realizes they're not gonna thrive in that area
and be able to cause more terror.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, I don't think any other country.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Wants them, but Trump got other countries to give a
damn and help.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
That is historic.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Now Hamas is supposed to release the twenty hostages that
are presumed to be living and those deceased. I'm getting
a little nervous that what if some of those twenty
aren't alive they lied about it, or are they going
to kill them and say, look, you wanted the deceased also.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Here you go.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
So I am, I mean, you can't put anything pass.
They're a terrorist group who are sick and disgusting. I
am hoping to God that they kept every one of
them intact, I mean that are alive. And in return
to get those twenty live hostages and those that have
deceased that Hamas is still holding their bodies, Israel has
(03:42):
to in return release over two thousand prisoners, many of
them terrorists, to get the hostages back.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
You know, Israel's going to do what they have to do.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Unfortunately, not sure what the next step is going to
be in terms of what these you know, individuals are
going to plan next. But luckily, with Trump's twenty point plan,
there's some guards against that. In terms of demilitarizing, Gaza
will be governed under a temporary transitional governance of Technocratic
a political Palestinian committee responsible for delivering the day to
(04:19):
day running a public service and municipalities. You even see
Gazin's happy because you know, Hamas being in control is deadly.
Hamas attacks another country and runs back and hides behind
them and then causes warrant destruction. Do they feed them,
do they give them medical care? Do they allow them
to be LGBTQ? Do they allow them to be free?
(04:40):
So you know this is you know, we wanted to
free Palestine from Hamas and not only does this get
the hostages back, not only does this hopefully provide peace
and stability in the area, but also free Palestinians from
Hamas control.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
This is huge.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
It is a win win all the way around, with
the exception of Hamas, who yeh thinks that that they,
you know, will still be able to do their terror
in other places.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I hope they don't. I hope they go away.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
But once the hostages come back, I'm going to really
let loose. But right now, let's just get the hostages home.
Uh so, uh you know, I I am so grateful.
I you know that we have a president that was
able to put this together because he's got the Kahones.
People respect him, and I understand there's a lot of
critics and you know, you are going to see people
(05:33):
rip him to pieces and all the other stuff that's
going on right now. But but this is a huge win.
Should he get the Noble Peace Prize abs of flipping loutely?
Should people on all sides of the aisle, if this
does work out, congratulate him or are they gonna still
just you know, give him crap? You know, we wait
(05:53):
a world leader, America's president and America's commander in chief
is a world leader and is somebody that the world
respects and looks up to, and we haven't had that
in a long time. And to have somebody that.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Is able to you know, you know Garner.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
And so my guess is he I think he has
to do something with Walter Reid and he has to
go through his medical examine. He's meeting with troops, and
then he's going to go to the Middle East. My
guess is he's going to be there. They say the
hostages could be released any time from Saturday to Monday.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
I think Hamas is going to stall as long as possible.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
But once Israel withdraws from certain zones, and there's U
and the twenty four hour ceasefire. Uh Hamas better get
their act together. If they don't, it's going to be
all hell breaks us. And I am sure that the
other countries as well as Israel and America are prepared
in case harmas Reniggs and I think they have explained
(06:49):
it to them in very distinct terms. How that's not
going to be a wise choice. Get the hostages home.
It's just it's a shame. The attack should have never happened.
The death and destruction and rape, and we can't we
can't get that back. And and knowing that terrorists, I mean,
look what's happening in Nigeria. I'd like to see the
(07:11):
world come together to save the Christians that are being
murdered and brutalized in Nigeria. We have got to set
a precedence for we don't stand for destruction, terrorism, death,
we don't.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Stand for that.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
We don't stand for you taking a group of individuals
because of what they believe in, whether they're Jews, Christians, Muslims,
LDS and destroying them.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
That's not what we stand for.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
And maybe this thing, this Trump peace plan, will hopefully
be the start of future American presidents stepping up one
eight seven seven, Doctor DOLLI, don't go away.
Speaker 2 (08:00):

So a couple of you have written me over the
years about tramadol and as tramadol a better painkiller than
hydra codone nor oxy codon. Another question I got is
how come tramadol makes you feel happy, feel buzzed, working
better than their antidepressant? And then another question I got
(11:05):
as a preticating tramadol is why does my listener have
issues climaxing during sex when they take tramadol? So you
know i've I've I try to answer all questions when
I get them. But because tramadol has made it in
the news, I figured we'ld talk about a little bit.
So tramadol is not, shall we say, an oxycodone or
(11:29):
an OxyContin or a fentanyl or hydrocodone, But it is
an opioid pain medication. But what is made tramadol popular
is because not only does it function as a synthetic opioid,
but also as a serotonin nor epenefhrin re uptake inhibitter,
similar to a medication like vendla faxine or effectsor the
(11:52):
serotonin nor ependefhrin reuptake inhibiters are used for depression and anxiety.
So some in fact, I think another one of my
listeners said that tramadol decreases her appetite. Why can't we
use that for a weight loss medication? I mean, so
people think tramadol is the super drug. The problem with
(12:13):
that is studies have shown it doesn't necessarily do what
it needs to in terms of chronic pain, and the
risks may outweigh the benefits. There was a study published
Tuesday in the journal BMJ Evidence Based Medicine that found
tramadol may have a slight effect on reducing chronic pain,
(12:33):
but not a lot of evidence.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
According to this article. According to the journal and being reported.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
By CNN, they say the findings indicate that the benefits
of tramadol are questionable or at the very least uncertain. Furthermore,
evidence thanggest the presence of potentially harmful effects. According to
doctor Janis Jacobsen, lead author of the study and clinical
professor at the Southern University of Southern Denmark and Copenhagen,
so tramadol can cause some pretty serious side effects chess
(13:01):
baines of heart failure, heart disease, headache, dizziness, constipation, sweating.
I had a sixty seven year old patient I think
sixty seven sixty eight who came in with horrible diarrhea
and her previous doctor was running every you know, parasite
stool test getting her in with GI even though her
(13:24):
cold oscarbies have been clear. And I asked her what
medicine she takes and she says, well, I'm not on
any and I'm like, what previous medicines were you on?
She said, well, I did take tramadol and then I
stopped it because I ran out.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
She was going through a narcotic withdrawal because of stopping
the tramadol.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
Meanwhile, she was dehydrating and about to get tests after test,
and once we identified that, we don't you know, give
her more.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
We don't do that.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
We just you know, help her go through the withdrawal
and hydrate and make sure she gets or salts in.
But you know it there there is withdrawal symptoms. The
other thing with tramadol is it interacts with a lot
of drugs and so you can't necessarily be on that
while taking other things. I think you have to be
very very careful if you're on other antidepressants, cholesterol medication, xanax's,
(14:20):
pain medication, nausea medicine. It could also increase levels of
serotonin where you could get serotonin syndrome, which could be
life threatening.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
So tramadol has been you know uh.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
I think its brand name was ultram when it came out,
and it was something that that a lot of doctors
jumped on because they didn't want to necessarily prescribe hydrocodone
and oxycodone, but.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
They want to give people something for pain.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
But I saw with my patients right away it's still
because it is an opioid sybbetico opioid, it's still caused addiction,
and it's still caused u uh withdrawal side effects. So
of course to the study, they say Therefore, alternative treatment
options should be considered before prescribing tramadol. Patients are advised
to consult the physicians to determine the most appropriate treatment
(15:07):
for their condition. Such treatment should likely be individualized according
to the type of.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Chronic pain experience.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Another reason why tramadol has gotten very popular is people
are telling me they're able to get into Mexico over
the counter. Now, I'd be very very careful getting medications
over the counter in another country that doesn't go through
the same strict process as our medications do. So a
study like this is probably making you, guys say, oh,
(15:34):
come on, really, now, give us some good news. Chronic
pain is a big deal, and it's one of my
biggest fears. Between the neck and the back and the
hips and joint replacement or cancer or it's I mean,
(15:56):
it's it's not easy. And you know, I want to
live of a long life. I want to be there
for grandkids when God will and I get them. I
want to still work, I want to still help you guys.
I want to still broadcast, I still want to do medicine.
I still want to teach. But when you're in pain,
it is debilitating and the way we have mad we
(16:17):
have handled it is atrocious. What happened in twenty sixteen
where public officials decided to blame doctors for the fentinel
crisis and the overdose deaths as opposed to going directly
to you know what were the main causes. Trust me,
(16:40):
we had some idiot doctors that were running pill mills.
And those doctors are violating state law, They are violating
federal law, and they are violating the medical board laws.
They should lose their license, shouldn't be practicing. That's a
slam dunk. But the average family doctor, the average dentist,
the average person trying to help people with pain. God
(17:02):
threatened so badly and God burdened with so much red
tape that the average doctor and dentist and said, I'm
just not going there, not prescribing him. So now patients
are stuck. And what does a patient do who ask
chronic pain? Do they just sit and take it? They
(17:26):
need to treat their pain, and so they Yeah, probably
many of them went to bootleg or non or non
traditional ways to get medication, or they went to alcohol.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
We saw alcoholism rise.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
They went to marijuana on cannabis because they're trying to
treat the pain. Now, narcotics are not the best thing
for pain. I think we've all established it.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Narcotics After a while, they just don't work. You gain
a tolerance to them.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
And then unfortunately, a lot of people who are addicted
to pain medication and quote unquote drug seeking, like you know,
they like medical community calls it. Many of them they're
not doing it to sell the drugs. They're not doing
it to get a high. It's if they don't take
the medication, the withdrawal and the pain is a thousandfold
(18:27):
and they're just trying to get the medication in to maintain.
And do we have enough addiction centers, Do we have
enough addiction specialists, Do we have enough support counselors. No,
And so we we have a pain crisis. What also
(18:49):
people have done is they've turned to sleeping pills. They say, well,
if I can't get a pain medication, let me sleep
through it. So now we have a sleeping pill addiction.
We need to do a much better job. We need
to also turn to the pharmaceutical companies for help. Well,
(19:10):
what have we done to the pharmaceutical companies during this
whole pain medicine crisis.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
We sued them.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
We blamed the pharmaceutical companies for the fentanyl crisis and
the drug overdose crisis. We didn't blame cartels, we didn't
blame China, we didn't blame some people's personal choice.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
We decided to sue the hell out of.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Johnson and Johnson and these other pharmaceutical companies. So what
do you think the average pharmaceutical company is thinking about
in their board meeting as it pertains to new drugs
to develop?
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Hey guys, what about a pain medication?
Speaker 3 (19:52):
No, no, we're not going there, no way, not for somebody
to blame us for a crisis. This that, you know,
when we were trying to help patients and pain. So
we're we we have ourselves in a big mess. We
did this to ourselves, and when you're in pain, it's
(20:15):
not easy. I am so grateful that my kidneys are healthy,
So God forbid, I have pain, or I have I've
had surgery.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
The ibuprofen handled it.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
But the average person can't take ibuprofen, not for an
extended period of time, because it hurts your kidneys, hurts
your liver, can cause ulcers and cauld cause condest of
heart failure. So I know this study on tramadol was not,
you know, promising, but it's it's not the answer to
our pain crisis one eight seven seven Dotilly.
Speaker 6 (21:02):

All right, we are back on Doctor Dollie Show. Thank
you all for tuning in.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
One eight seven seven dot Dolly one eight seven seven
D O C D A L. I I ate salad
for breakfast today. It's not my favorite choice for breakfast.
I really like something sugary. But I unfortunately when I
do eat salad, you guys get to hear a little
(22:47):
bit of it come into into my teeth. So I
apologize as I'm cleaning my teeth. Okay, all right, I'm
getting my Facebook live for this. Y'all know I love football,
and the super Bowl is probably my third favorite holiday,
next to Christmas, Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, and then super Bowl.
(23:12):
Although I think I almost like super Bowl even more
than a Halloween. That's kind of a tricky one. I
gotta figure this out. So when I heard that, you know,
they were going to announce I think this was was
it last Thursday night? I think it was Thursday Night
Football when they were going to announce who was going
to be the halftime show. Now I know some people,
they really you know, they sit and have bets and
(23:35):
they're all excited about who's going to be the halftime show.
I gotta be honest. I don't always watch the halftime
show at super Bowl because you know, I'm at a
friend's house or we're watching the game, and then I
have to pee, and or I go up and get
more food hid or sangria or whatever they're serving, and
then and.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Then I make comments, and then I.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Sit back down and I watch the music. So when
I heard Bad Bunny was going to be I want
to be honest with you. I've heard his music. I
just didn't put the two together. And Bad Bunny has
been controversial. I know I made a joke that bad
Bunny was my only fans name, and I was excited
that I got to perform at the super Bowl. No,
I don't get to perform the super Bowl. And no
(24:17):
I'm not on only fans. I will look into that that. No,
I'm not I want to do anything discussing or naked
on OnlyFans. But I got to tell you, people are
making income on OnlyFans. Why can't I do something cleaning
on medical on OnlyFans. I'm gonna check that out. Always
looking for other sources of revenue.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Why not?
Speaker 3 (24:35):
So the Bad Bunny controversy, I didn't really know much
about it. I'm like bad Bunny, okay, Puerto Rican singer
right popular coming didn't really know much about the controversy,
and that Eric Dickerson, NFL Hall of Famer, he wants
Bad Bunny to keep his quote ass away from the
(24:58):
super Bowl if he truly he doesn't like the United States.
So now you're starting to hear from you know, NFL players,
you're starting to hear from other people. Couldn't let you
know what's going on here? What So, from what I understand,
his bad Bunny. That's not the name on his birth certificate.
He is Benita Antonio Martinez o Cassio, and he had
(25:21):
refused tour in the United States over concerns that his
fans were going to be targeted by ICE agents. So
he was concerned that if he had a concert, ICE
would be there at the concert to pick up illegal
immigrants that were going to his concert, and so he
(25:42):
felt that he shouldn't perform.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
You know, people always wonder how is the Super Bowl
halftime show person pitted?
Speaker 3 (25:57):
And there's rumors that they pay, that they paid to perform.
I'm being told they don't. I mean, I'm sure there's
gotta be some tip for Tad. What Google says about
the subject is they get chosen and actually paid a
nominal fee, not much, but from what we're being told
(26:19):
is that they and I want to break this down
right where there's a shortlist and it's a collaboration involving NFL,
Apple Music, jay Z's Rock Nation where I guess jay
Z's They have been since twenty nineteen, the entertainment company
that co produces and selects entertainers and is the entertainment strategist.
(26:43):
Of course, the NFL helps create initial shortlists. They look
at the popularity Apple Music, you know, because they can
also you know, look at who's podcasting, who their numbers are.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
So Apple Music gets involved.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
The host city gets input, well, so Las Vegas when
they hosted a couple years ago, they were able to
give input and that, and then of course does the
artist want to Well, this is huge. You become a
super line a super Bowl halftime show, uh you know,
uh headliner, that's it goes down in history.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
It's huge.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
So the exposure they get, you know, they many of
them will promote their next album, new songs.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
It's it's you.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Know, something that gets played and talked about, and so
the the exposure is huge, and then they do get
paid the union scale pay.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Apparently it's a minimum amount required by union.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Agreements for their participation. I think it's like a thousand
a day for rehearsals. I believe the NFL pays for
their travel for some of their costs, so they they
you know, don't necessarily get paid millions, but they rake
in millions from the exposure. And so you know, you
have this, you know, rapper who's very popular. I apologize
(28:00):
people are calling. I apologize that as a huge following,
but has taken a political stand, as many of these
artists do. And you know, when you hear Eric Dickerson
and other people say why why is you know he headlining,
I don't care, you know, in terms of you know,
I music is music. You know, people love the music.
(28:23):
I really don't want to hear about the politics. I
don't really, you know, I really want to hear less
of a Hollywood or a celebrity or a music starts politics.
We all feel certain ways about things. I mean, the
more we're transparent about how we feel, I think the more.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
We're going to really dislike each other. So so I.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Don't really care about that, But it is intriguing that
somebody who is going to be in America is one
of the most you know, highlighted and celebrated venues, is
not somebody that wants to perform in America.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
And and you know, and and so that that is
rubbing people wrong.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
And you know, should the halftime performer be somebody that's nop.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
A political?
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Should it be somebody who's you know, uh, pro America pro.
I don't know all his politics. Like I said, I
don't care, but this Bad Bunny is I mean, it's
the Super Bowl. I mean football season just started, but
we're going into week five, I think week six, I
mean football, we're we're still months away from Super Bowl.
But the political divide, and this is what gets me
(29:39):
about this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
I go to sports to get away from politics. I
don't want to hear.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
About the right and the left and the you know,
I don't I don't want to That's why I go
to now sports and NFL is an escape for a
lot of us.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
But as with everything else, politics gets involved.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
And so, you know, is Bad Bunny going to be no, no,
just singing the songs? Is there gonna be you know,
a political statement is it doesn't somebody always get naked
and take off their clothes or do something or make
some gyrat So you know, obviously there's going to be
you know, you know, sex and other topics and fuse
(30:23):
which are non football related in the halftime show. But
I'd really like the super Bowl to be a political
if if we could at least have one day a
year and you know, the Christmas, thank god, but but okay,
another day a year where it's not about the politics.
(30:43):
So bad, buddy, Maybe you know, the best performer ever
and it might be a fantastic super Bowl show, you know,
but when you start hearing people say, I don't want
his attitude and his anti American you know, attitudes, and
the people are really taking this this personally, and that's
the problem. The problem we have right now in society
is anything somebody does looks like they're choosing a side.
(31:09):
If somebody offers bud light already, people are like, oh okay,
so you're you know, you support that, you know, transgender
mulvady woman who was at a bathtub, you know, acting
like a woman that women don't like to be portrayed
that way.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
And you're you know, pro uh.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
No, you know, if you're serving bud light, you're serving
bud light. Yep, you want to serve bud light. But
that's not the way society is right now. The society
is is is you. Whatever decision you make, people like
you're you're making a point, and maybe they are making
a point you maybe you know. So, as far as
I'm concerned this bad Bundy controversy least on my worry list.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
I'm more worried about the hostages.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
And getting them home one eight seven seven doct Dolly.

Thank you all, but beening in one eight seven seven
Doctor Dollar one eight seven seven d ocd Ali.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
So we talk a lot.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
About saving money on this show because I like to
save money. And one thing that I am inadequate in
is if I have benefits and I have things that
I could be using, I don't do my research and
I miss out. And what I'm really shocked by is
how more than thirty.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Million Americans are enrolled in Medicare.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Advantage, but there are over the counter allowance benefits that
go unused every year. And I mean these funds could
pay for you know, a lot of health and wellness
essentials that you could actually be compensated for or covered
by Medicare.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
So I'm really really excited. Here to make the most of.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
These benefits is certified financial planner and author Shinobu Hindert,
who is teaming up with ken View, the company behind
well known brands. Hindert is an author of Investing Is
Your Superpower Amen, a step by step guide to creating
the lifestyle you've always wanted. So I am very very
(35:30):
excited to welcome Shinobu Hinder Shinabu, thank you for joining us.
Speaker 9 (35:35):
Thank you Doctor Dahlia for having me on the show.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Hi Shinabu talk to us about why it's so important
for you know, consumers to know what their benefits are
and what they could take advantage of.
Speaker 9 (35:45):
Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head.
So as a financial planner and wellness expert, I've seen
how these overlooked benefits can impact both health and finances.
With Medicare advantage, the OTC benefit can mean hundreds of
dollars in savings each year. Products that people already rely
on pain relievers, cold and flu remedies, dental rinses, and
(36:05):
even skincare. But here's the catch. These funds don't roll over.
If they aren't used, they're lost, and nationally that adds
up to billions of wasted dollars. That's why it's so
important to know what's included in your plan and to
take full advantage of the Medicare Advantage OTC benefits.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Exactly, if you don't use it, you lose it, and
it's you know, we go to the store, we go
to drug stores, we buy things online, and we don't
realize that this is this is something that you know
we have benefits for if we are on a Medicare
advantage plan. So talk to us about the types of
products that are covered in most of these plants.
Speaker 9 (36:42):
Most Medicare Advantage OTC benefits cover a wide range of
self care essentials taile andol for pain relief, zertech for allergies,
Nutrigena for sunscreen, listerine for oral care, and band aid
for first aid. These are products used regularly in daily life,
and having them covered through Medicare Advantage OTC benefits means
(37:04):
people can maintain their routines without worrying as much about cost. However,
it's very important to make sure you're checking with your
plan administrator on what products are covered under your specific plan.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
So true.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
And you know, when I have somebody that comes in
with correct feet or and starting to get you know,
foot ulcers, you know, I encourage that they lotion and
moisturize their feet, moisturize their skin. I mean, there's so
much research on what health and personal care routines you
know are are needed to know to improve our health.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Talk to us about some of that.
Speaker 9 (37:40):
So the findings in can Use a New View of
Care report show that while most people don't completely stop
personal care routines, cost definitely affects how often they're using products.
In fact, one in three consumers say prices the number
one factor in sticking with their routines. That's where Medicare
advantage OTC benefits really matter. They help reduce that financial
(38:03):
pressure so members can keep up with essentials like dental rinses,
cold remedies, and skincare. Using these benefits on Canview brands
gives consumers a peace of mind. They're choosing reliable products
that they can count on, so, you know.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Making the most of these benefits.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
You know, there's because I believe the rollover starts in January,
so we only have a few months left. Talk to
us about how to make the most of these over
the counter benefits.
Speaker 9 (38:27):
So Medicare Advantage OTC benefits are designed to be simple
to use. Typically, members have three options. Order from their
plans catalog or website, submit receipts for reimbursements after shopping
at retail, or use special OTC debit cards right in store.
It just depends on the plan and the key is
to check how benefits are structured. And as you mentioned,
(38:49):
remember that funds expire, so use them before that cycle ends.
This is the best way to make sure the Medicare
Advantage OTC benefits don't go to waste.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
During tex season, we talk about medical deductions and how
many things people use. You know, they thought, well, I
didn't use any bandages. There are so many items that count.
Talk to us about some of these common items that
people might not know are covered.
Speaker 9 (39:17):
Yes, the list is longer than most people think. Beyond
pain relievers and allergy medications, Medicare Advantage OTC benefits often covered.
Digestive health products like pepsid, skincare essential such as nutri
Genus sunblock, certain listinge dental care products, and first aid
necessities from band aid. Now, these are everyday items and
(39:38):
having them covered through OTC benefits makes it easier to
stay stocked up and prepared.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
Yeah, I mean when you look at you know, the
hemorrhoid creams, when you look at the userin, when you
look at the sunscreen, when you look at a lot
of the things you buy, I mean I'll go to
Target or Walmart or Amazon or whatever. I mean, I
mean that that's hundreds of dollars and so I am
really really grateful for what you and ken you are
doing today. Anything else you'd like to share with our listeners.
Speaker 9 (40:03):

One eight seven seven dot.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Dolly one eight seven seven D O C D A L. I.
I am very very bad at daily routines. I have
some routines, but things that can prevent and you know,
as you know, I've been dealing with my teeth issue.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Dental guard.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
Do you know how many uh times I have bought
dental guards, not like them, throwing them out.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
I mean I've spent hundreds of dollars on dental guards.
I finally found one I really.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Really like, actually, and I used to last night and
I was able to sleep and it was, uh, it
was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
But these are.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
Things you don't think about now. I don't you know,
I'm still too young for medicare and Medicare advantage. But
for those of you who are are you know on
it and have it there, there's so much money you
could save. And when you look at bandages, when you
look at sunscreens, when you look at lotions, you know,
hemorrhoid creams, stool softeners and acids, I be profit vitamins.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
You know, these are things that.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Over the counter should cover some of you that have
FSAs or hsas I believed where where you could use
I remember I had one job where we had this
a part of it, and I was just amazed at
how it was like a debit card.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
You just it was. It was fantastic.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
So yeah, definitely look into uh your plan.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Uh visit that site and look at what's going on. Uh.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
Sunscreen. You know, sunscreen has been a little controversial. Shouldn't
be because of blocks of sun protects us from melanoma,
but there's been many people concerned about the chemicals that
were as it pertains to that. And you know, how
do you get the vitamin D and the sunlight you need. Well,
you know, I've talked to dermatologists and they all say
the same thing. You have got to protect your skin
(42:11):
from the harmful rays of the sun and you will
still get the sun's benefits even with your sunblock. So
talk to your medical provider. I know a lot of
people are you know, I just want sun.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
My grandfather lived with son, my grand they did fine.
They had strong bones.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
They and I get it.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
I get it. We don't want to, you know, overlather
ourselves with chemicals. But I gotta be honest with you.
Seeing the melanoma I've seen that is some scary stuff.
And not all of us are going to be as
lucky as Jimmy Carter living till one hundred, you know,
with his melanoma. So so, I am a fan of sunscreen.
I think it is extremely important, especially for those of
us that do like the outdoors and go fishing and
hunting and camp in and all that. But talk to
(42:52):
your medical provider about some of the safest ones. I
think some of the uh sunscreens that don't have titanium
dioxide I prefer but or oxy benzone. But definitely look
into that one eight seven seven docts oll it.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Don't go away.
Speaker 10 (43:21):

whether it's drugs, alcohol, sex, video games, porn, or something
less obvious such as food, internet, or shopping. Addiction can
seem innocent at first and then evolve into an insurmountable evil.

into the common addictions and provide tips for identifying and
preventing these before they sneak in and take over our lives.
