Speaker 3 (00:35):
All right, you're back of Doctor Dahlia Show. Thank you
all for tuning in.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
One eight seven seven Doctor Dolli one eight seven seven
d O C D A L I.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Well, Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. The hostages are home.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
After two long, grueling, barbaric, tortuous years. The hostages are home,
and the road to peace in the Middle East is
now beautifully paved like a yellow brick road. And and
this is such an amazing day, you know. Uh, you know,
people asked why they didn't see a lot of pictures
(01:09):
of me, you know, when I was in Israel, and
you know they and and because you you it really
wasn't celebratory. You couldn't live for me, well, being half Israeli,
you couldn't live and and you know, enjoy life knowing
that somebody was you know, being tortured and raped and
begging for food, you know, and Unfortunately, I still feel
(01:31):
that way with all the other uh barbarism going on
across the globe.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
And and but.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
We we made huge history today with the hostages coming
home and reuniting with their families. The dead bodies, not
all of them are coming home, we know, Hamas said
they have four. And my guess is because you know
what they might have done to the corpses and I unthinkable.
(01:59):
And so my fear is we might not get all
the the deceased homes so they could have proper burials,
which is extremely important in all of our religions. But
the live hostages have come home in one piece. The
the medical care and the psychological care they're gonna need
is gonna be ongoing, you know.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
But but they they've reunited with their families.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
And and what is so historic about this is, you know,
the abraham Ac courts Trump did in his first term
didn't get the credit they deserved.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
You know, with United Arab Emirates and.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Soudan and Bahrain and Morocco, you know, uniting and and
and UH forging.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Peace with Israel with trades and talks, et cetera.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Now Trump has the ability to expand it to include
Egypt and Saudi Arabia and Jordan and Lebanon and who knows,
maybe even Syria and and if these Abraham accurts get
expanded in Trump now, I know, you know he's only
got you know, three years left in the presidency. But
if he could work quickly to make sure these are
(03:03):
air tight deals, uh, you know, peace can be achieved
in the Middle East. You know, people ask, they go,
why was it? You know, why did it take two years?
And you know for the hostages to come home? You know,
why has Hamas been in control of Palestine for this long?
But it's because you didn't have unity.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
You need a leader.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Many of the countries can't stand Hamas now. But where
were they? Why didn't they step up and say bring
the hostages home. You bring the hostages home, the war
will stop.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
And you know, also look at Hamas, look at what
they did.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
You know, it was pretty clear that if the hostages
came home, Israel's there's no more war. Even the Palestinians
were like, we don't want this war.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
They're even celebrating.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
They have to be very careful because Hamas has already
vowed that they are going to, you know, provide retribution
on collaborators and all that. So Hamas is still reigning terror.
Kamas isn't just gonna go away. They're either going to
try to find another place or they're going to still
try to, you know, ring tear on who they can.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
They're not just going to roll over and die.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
But but you know what, why didn't they? This could
have been over October eighth, This could have never happened.
And and and you know when you see the world,
you know, go, oh, Israel is is so evil and
Israel is is ruling God. They this Israel didn't ask
for this. Israel was not in control of Gaza for years.
Hamas decides to take advantage, pull hostages out, rape, kill,
(04:37):
behead cause you know, imagine you beat a parent, seeing
your child raped and killed in front of you or
your wife or husband. I mean, this is the stuff
they did, just to to torture people and then take hostages,
so they had some room for barter. Why didn't the
other country step up? October eighth, We should have seen
all the other countries step up, and we didn't. And
(04:58):
it took Trump to get these other of states, these
other countries to give a damn. And now he's in
Egypt ensuring that the peace plan starts to go through
the twenty steps. You know, Hammos needs to be disarmed.
You know, Palestinians will hopefully be ruled with this international
plan of International Court for Peace that right now Trump
(05:23):
is heading, and he might still be able to head
post presidency, because we worry that when Trump leaves, this
can just all fall apart.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
But hopefully, you.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Know, it's it's many countries understand that if they're at
peace with Israel, it helps them, and and the the
the United Arab Emirates got it right, they I think
these other countries know. And the idea of well if
we recognize Israel and any you know, because there wasn't
there was going to be after British occupation a Palestinian
homeland and the Israeli homeland after World War Two. But
(05:56):
unfortunately the Palestinian Peace of It rejected it because they said,
well no, but we can't sign anything that that acknowledges
Israel exists.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Well, now I think the other countries are thinking, okay,
it will exists. Better to be at peace.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
You know, we're not gonna sit here and stand on
principles as well as the right to exist are you know,
we're going to.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Ensure that that you know, we we we.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Don't break any accord and we don't uh you know,
wake the sleeping giants sort of speak, and this peace
can be achieved. And it took Trump doing it, you know,
and it's Trump's a badass. I understand a lot of
people dislike them, they're criticizing him, but you you can't.
I don't care how much you dislike you know him
(06:40):
as a person, or you know what he might be
doing in terms of tariffs or or ice.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
But this move he.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Made, you know, not only did he want to secure
our border and secure America, but by the way, hamasta
American osages do, but he wants to secure world peace.
As I said before, Israel is the helicopter pad for America.
America gets a lot of intelligence on what's going on
with terrorist groups with surrounding countries because of Israel, and
(07:12):
Israel's peace and safety is paramount for America's foreign policy
and for America's peace and as it pertains to the
Middle East, and so not to mention Israel probably gives
them intelligence on other things going on as well. I
wouldn't be surprised if they also have, you know, eyes
on Putin. So this is something that helps us. This
(07:33):
is huge, This should be celebrated. You know those people
who want to still have political divide. I don't care
what your politics are. Let's at least celebrate what happened
now and hope that the Abraham of courts could be
extended and that peace could be lifelong one eight and
everlasting one eight seven seven doct dollary, don't go ahead.
Speaker 5 (08:01):

Hi.
Speaker 6 (09:02):
It's Mark Falter, hosts of the Financial Fitness Show. I
strongly believe that no one should ever pay one penny
more in taxes than they are legally obligated. Unfortunately, for
most hard working Americans, this just isn't the case. Why
because most people spend more time planning next weekends getaway
than trying to ensure they're going to pay less than taxes.
(09:24):
My Financial Fitness team has put together some materials that
I know are going to help you. It's the Tax
Savings Kit. Tax Savings Kit includes three things, free tax analysis,
top ten ways to pay less than taxes, and an
investor's guide to taxes. Now, how do you get it simple?
Eight six six seven sixty four two six three five
(09:45):
and eight six six seven six four, two, six, three five.
I'm Mark Falter. This is financial fitness, making personal finance profitable.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Fine, you're back up, Doctor Dollar, you show.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Thank you over tuning in one eight seven seven Doctor
Dollary one eight seven seven d O C D A
L I. Big thanks to Talk Media Network for making
the show happen, but thanks to Daniel, our producer, and
big thanks to y'all for tuning in.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
We really do appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Don't forget to follow us on Twitter or ex The
Doctor Dolli of Facebook, the Doctor Dolli You Show, and
on YouTube, quicklike and subscribe.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
So this weekend, oh it was busy.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Coughs, cold sore throats, horse voices, fever, cough, cold flu,
and COVID season are here and the fall in the
winter time winter season obviously the most challenging.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
So I'm very very excited. Doctor V is back.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Doctor yel Ornado TV hosts known as doctor V. You've
seen her on CNN Women's Seal, Doctor Oz.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
She's a huge contributor for that.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
And is a practicing position at John Hopkins is back.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
To talk to us about how to prepare for this season.
Doctor V. Thank you so much for coming on again.
Speaker 7 (11:17):
Doctor Dahlia is great to talk to you. Thank you
for having me.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Gosh, I love you and I love what you do
because obviously, you know, prevention is key, so you know,
talk to us about what you're reminding your patients and
listeners and fans about what they should be doing about
staying healthy.
Speaker 7 (11:36):
Gosh, I mean, you're one hundred percent right, like you
you said it, Like cough, cold fool season, everything is here,
and so the most important thing, you know, we're seeing
at Hopkins is people are coming in sick, you know,
whether they're just run down, they're not getting a fleet,
they're stressed. And I just want to remind my patients
and people that I'm taking care of that we have
(11:57):
to take care of ourselves. We have to find some
ways to really stay healthy and lean into that as
we get ready for this last push. You know, it's
a busy last three months of the year, and that's
really why I create a get check forlife dot org
to tell people and remind people of healthy ways to
take care of themselves. And so I'm so excited to
(12:18):
have the opportunity to share some tips on staying healthy
today with you and your listeners.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Love it Also, you know it's interesting because you know,
all talk to patients so like, well, just the flu,
so it goes away, or covid is milder. I mean
I still have sequelle. I still have issues from when I.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Got sick, you know.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
I mean it could affect the heart, it can affect
your breathing, and so preparing for flu season and preparing
for these things. You know, it's not just a simple illness.
We're learning more and more that the symptoms can persist
and cause other issues.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
So that's why we're so grateful. You know you're here.
Speaker 7 (12:54):
Yeah, I mean you're one hundred percent, and you know
the flumate hit you differently than it hits me or
maybe someone who's elderly or maybe a child, and so
you're right. You can't just say, oh, it's just the flu.
And that's why I tell my patients and we have
to be prepared, and I stalk my medicine cabinet up
and I tell my patients to stock my medicine cabin up.
(13:14):
I pull out a drawer in my office. It's full.
It's full of Born's oscillo coxinum because I love it
so much and it works. And I tell them you know,
having ascillo on hand can shorten the duration of sick
days for your whole family. And you know, oscillo coccinum
cannot prevent the flu, but it's going to allow you
to fight those symptoms before they get out of hand.
(13:36):
And clinical studies have shown that when taken at the onset,
ascillo is going to reduce the duration and severity of
flu like symptoms. You know, like that fever, you get
those awful chills and bodies. And unlike other flu medicines,
as Soilo is non drowsy, it doesn't interact with other
medications you're taking, and so it's really perfect for home
(13:57):
and travel. It's widely available wherever you make s and
you don't need a prescription for it.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
I love that, and a lot of times people will wait.
I love how you said, you know, it's in the drawer,
ready to go. A lot of people will sadly wait
until they're sick, and then while sick, they're.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Trying to run to the drug store.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
And we have we had shortages over the last few
years of what people could get at the drug store.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
So preparing now is key, absolutely.
Speaker 7 (14:23):
I mean, you don't want to be sick, go and
then they don't have it. I mean, who wants to
go to the store sick? I mean you can barely
get there. So you're one hundred percent right. It's all
about prevention. Having this the first onset of the symptoms,
you are going to be knocking those symptoms down, you know,
and really shortening that duration in severity. It's true. We
got to do it.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
What other tips you know do you like to recommend
as it pertains to where people are, how people should prepare.
Speaker 7 (14:52):
You know, one of the best ways to stay healthy
this time of the year is exercise. And a lot
of people say, oh, I can't do it because I
like to run outside, or I like to take walks outside,
or you know, I get my exercise walking my dog
or doing whatever that might be. But it's outdoors. Well,
this is the time, maybe because we don't have as
much light during the day, or it's dark when you exercise,
(15:13):
come back indoors. You know. I have a go to
gym Planet Fitness. They have more than twenty seven hundred
locations nationally and internationally. They make it easy for you
to stay active during the fall and winter because they
have best in class like strength and cardio equipment. They
have a non intimidating environment for all fitness levels, so
regardless of where you are in your fitness during you
(15:35):
can feel comfortable working out. And I remind my patients listen,
regular exercise is going to boost your energy, it's going
to reduce your stress, and you're going to improve your sleep.
And so with a high value, low price Planet Fitness membership,
anyone can get consistent exercise. I also love that they
have the Yes Black Card membership because that lets you
(15:57):
bring a guest every day, doctor dollar, and you and
I can work out every day. Yes, and yes the
Black Card Spa. I love the spa and your massage chairs,
oh my goodness. And more so, that's the perfect thing
to give people as a gift if they won't do
it for themselves this this holiday season.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
And I can't overestimate enough how important that is, because
when you go out of town, you get off your
fitness regimen.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
My son uses the Planet Fitness.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
He has a membership and he uses the past and
so like we you know, saw our nephews and Iowa,
he didn't have to miss one day of workouts because
there was a Planet Fitness, right across the hotel. So
it's it's exact very important to be able to still
keep up with your like for somebody like me, if
I don't get it in, I just I can't sleep.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
So I like to still get my workout in and
keep that up.
Speaker 7 (16:49):
Yeah, for some people it's My husband is the same way.
You know. It's how he censors his body, how he
kind of like resets, whether it helps you to bring
down your blood pressure or whether it's your mental health,
you know. And that's really at the core of what
you're saying. And I love Planet and it's because if
you have a regiment, or you like machines or classes
(17:10):
you like to take, you're going to get that whether
you're in Iowa or you know, New York City exactly.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
And you know, I get away from the in laws
by saying, got to go to the gym. So yeah,
that's yeah, that's always helpful too. We're talking to Yael Varnado,
TV host. You've seen her on CNN and Doctor OZ,
contributor Women's Health and a physician at Johns Hopkins.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
What other recommendations do you have this time of year.
Speaker 7 (17:39):
Well, I like to remind people, you know, the weather's cooling,
and our bodies naturally need a little extra care, and
so it's really important to think about what you're putting
into your body as fuel and leaning into nutrient dense
warming foods like souits, citruses, squash, root, vegetables. I really
think it's important to eat in season because it's going
(18:01):
to give you energy and balance and keep you hydrated.
So I'm a fan of always saying what do you
have at the store that's like in season right now,
and really enjoying and sharing that with my family because
it's about eating whole foods that are going to nourish
your body.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
I love that you bring that up because you notice
that that nature understands the weather.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
You know, we get dehydrated in the summer, and.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
That's why that's why we have all these summer fruits
that are full of water and fluid.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yet during the winter we need food for warmth. We
need to.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Bone up on our h on our uh you know,
photo or antioxidants and and so it's it's fascinating how
you see what produce and vegetables thrive in certain times
of the year, because that's kind of what you know,
we're supposed to be feeding ourselves, so that that's a.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Good point you brought up, very true, very true. Eating
what's in season? Any other tips you'd like to share
with our listeners.
Speaker 7 (18:59):
Absolutely, you know it's hard, you're stressed, worse stressed, a
lot going on. It's the holiday season is right around
the corner, and so it's important to get sleep. We
really need to slow down and reach that, and getting
good quality sleep is going to make a huge difference
in how we handle stress, you know, and how you
(19:19):
can stay healthy through these like darker months, because you
wear yourself down and that's how you get sick. And
so it's about giving your body permission to really recharge
so that you feel ready when spring rolls around and
we're up and going again.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
You know, right, right, so true. How can my listeners
find more information.
Speaker 7 (19:40):
Doctor Dahalia, You can check out tips on tv dot
com for all the things that we talked about today.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Well wow, Doctor Bernardo, love having you. Can't wait to
have you back and stay healthy this fall and winter season.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Thank you you too, Doctor Dallia, take care so great
to talk to you.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Today, you too.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
One eight seven seven Doctor one seven D O C
D A L I.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
You know. I Uh, I get frustrated.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
I walk to the grocery store and I'm like, well, wait,
where's the grapes, where's the you know? But then you
see apples, you know, and you see you know, the oranges,
and you see the potatoes, and you see the you know,
and and sometimes that's you know, nature talking to us
and telling us, you know, look, these are the things
we do. We need to be you know, considering and
boning up on it. I mean apples picking and apple watching.
(20:26):
I saw some meme somebody said he took his wife
to the apple orchard and they watched the apples. But
that's not what she wanted. She wanted an apple watch.
I don't app but uh, definitely bone up on your
fruits and vegetables. And I check out a doctor Ernando
just spoke about one eight seven seven, doctor doll it
don't go wait.
Speaker 8 (21:01):

Speaker 3 (22:28):
So, have any of you guys ever gotten your car
or truck towed? I haven't. I have been very, very
lucky my whole life. But it happened to my son
this weekend, and it sucked.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
And I think there's a lot of scams and predatory
behavior out there that I want to warn you all about.
So because I think they lay in waiting and then
as soon as they think you.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Are in violation, they grab your car go and then
they hold it hostage.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
And so this weekend was the Renaissance Fare in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now,
the Renaissance Fair has been something I love going to,
but I think this might be the last time I
go to it because it used to you used to
be able to find parking. There'd be a lot you
could park on, and you know, and even though I
could use my media pass. Now if I'm coming with
family and all that, I you know.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
I don't necessarily go, oh, I'm media.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
I'm sure I could, but but you know, because I
cover it and I promoted and that kind of stuff.
But you know, this time around, they wanted to shunt
people to another lot that was far.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Away and then use shuttle buses.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Well the problem with that for me is if I
have to go to the bathroom, right, not only are
you waiting in line to get on a shuttle bus,
but then you're waiting in line to to get on
one to leave the event, and it could add an
extra few hours to the event. Remember I told you guys,
I want to go to the Nellis Air Force Base
air show, and the shuttle line we were in line
(24:03):
for two hours, and I'm like, I just can't just
to get onto a bus. We weren't sure what was
going on with the buses, you know, and and so
you know, for me, I just don't have all day
to spend. So my son was with his girlfriend and
they're like, well, we're gonna go get somebody to eat
and then we'll meet you. So they parked across the
street to go get somebody to eat and then they
(24:24):
were gonna come and meet us. Well, we were there
for about an hour or so, and it was cool.
I post us a pictures.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
It was great.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
I got to see a camel and have them camel
alloted to like lick whatever salt was on my hand.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
I don't know what the cant was doing. And it
was pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
Ooh and then the nasiluh, the the gone Door sword
from Lord of the Rings before it broke into pieces.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
That was really really cool. They all got to yeah,
I love the Renaisans ferror. It's really really cool. But
we're like, look, you know, uh, we'll uh, we'll drive
you back to your car. So we drove them back.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
To the car and the car is gone, even though
they were there in the parking lot to go eat.
They were that the car's gone, and there wasn't even
covered parking. It wasn't there was like no sign, so
we thought the car got stolen. So then for poops
and giggles, we're like, well, I wonder if it got towed.
So we're driving around for about five minutes to try
(25:12):
to see is there a possible toe sign, because how
do you know where the car is if somebody towed it?
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Who's the towing company? Where does it go?
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Well, behind some bushes there was a sign, so we
called it and they go, yeah, we have your car.
And you know, we weren't really at the Renaissance Fair
that long. And I'm like, well, I bet.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
They're still on the road. Where is it. Well it
was about I don't know, maybe twelve thirteen miles.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Away the toe company, So I'm like, I bet we
can even catch them on the road. But so we
start to go down there and and we get to
the Total company and you start to see all these
people in Renaissance Fair close walk into this this toe company.
We're thinking to ourselves, look, this is gonna be a
good couple hundred bucks.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Just prepare towing fees are not good.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
It cost five hundred and eighty dollars to get his
car back. Why, well, the basic towing fee was three sixty,
but because it was a weekend night, they slapped on
more money.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
They sent like an extra hundred hundred and fifty.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
Then they charged per mile that they had to drive
the car seventeen dollars per mile.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
And then on top of that they added some extra bsfee.
I forget what they said.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Oh, because it was a special event or so by
the time people got out of their five eighty. Now
the average person doesn't have that money in their wallet.
They don't have it in their bank account. And you
saw the worry these people had, and you heard people go.
But I was only there for a few minutes. I
was only there. Well, you know, that's kind of what happens.
I mean, if you park at a place you're not
(26:53):
supposed to park, you get towed. But we calculated based
on the time they must have been just right, they're
sitting to catch And I've been hearing about these tow
truck scams. And I live in a place that always
had free parking, always had you know, you know usually,
I mean, we got the coolest, coolest.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
I live in southern Nevada. All there is is land.
All there are is fields and desert.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
But these toe truck companies know how to make money
and so adding extra fees because they can. There's no
way to fight it. So five hundred and eighty dollars
for them having our car for five minutes not cool,
not cool at all. And you know many individuals that
(27:40):
don't have that kind of money that you struggle. And
so one thing that I'm really, you know, kind of
grumpy with and salty about is, you know, we have
such amazing sports events and hockey and all that, but
we get scammed on the parking and the pricing, and
(28:01):
so if you don't want to spend I think I
wanted to go to a Golden Nights game and parking
was forty five bucks, So on top of your ticket,
which is now getting high priced, on top of that,
we had to pay an extra forty five And that's
actually good. I'm hearing that some parking is more. Why well,
because these companies could charge for it. They could charge
for it, so people are paying it. And if you're
trying to find another place to go and you don't
(28:22):
see a toe sign well that you could be really
really screwed.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
So I think the key is is to just uber
or left where you're gonna go.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
But that could cost about forty fifty dollars depending on
where you are.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
And it's frustrating because I don't want to be.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
The one to say I'm not gonna go somewhere because
of parking or because I don't want to get towed.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
I remember hearing my grandparents talk like that.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
I'm like, why would you miss an event because you're
worried about something that's not gonna happen. Yeah, I mean,
I get if you're worried about a mass shooter, but
you're you're worried about getting towed. Well, now I see.
Now I am frightened to park anywhere. And what only
kind of gets me is this Renaissance fair. What what
the Renaissance fair used to be about was people dressing up,
(29:06):
you know, enjoying you know, the Lord of the rings
and the nights and and the the.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Chivalry and watching shows and all that.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
It has gotten to be such a money crab and
you know the experience, and then to eat, to try
and eat, lines and lines and lines, and of course
the food was exorbitant in terms of cost.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
And I get you know, everybody needs to make money.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
And these people that work these Renaissance fairs, God bless them.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
You know, this is the only income they have.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
But when you throw all this on top of each other,
I mean, this weekend ended up being a really expensive weekend.
And the reason why you go to these fairs, the
reason why you go to these events is because you're
you're you're trying to.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
Not spend a lot of money and you're trying to
enjoy the day. You're you're trying, you know.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
I that's what I love about watching sports because you
tell everybody to you do pot luck, bring everybody over,
have the kids play, have the game going on in
the background. You can make a day of it without
spending a lot of money. So you think, I'm gonna
go to the Renaissance Fair. It's gonna be cool, it's
gonna be an experience. I mean, by the time you
bought tickets and food, we're talking hundreds of dollars, and
(30:16):
that rooms it for everybody. The Renaissance Fair cannot be
just a rich person's day. Disneyland has gotten ridiculous. I
told you guys, I was looking for a room to
go Wednesday, to drive in Wednesday night and be at
the park on Thursday. Disneyland Hotel was five two hundred
and ninety dollars a night, and I posted that picture
(30:37):
on Facebook and Twitter. No lie, And then I looked
at some of the cheaper motels. King Zenn was eleven
hundred dollars. What what are these people doing? Not to
mention about two hundred bucks a ticket. Disneyland is now
for rich people. It's not for middle income. And then
I live where we have the WNBA and and go
Ace is well done winning, and we have the Raiders,
(31:01):
we have the Golden Knights, we have the aviators.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
We have why are these luckily the aviators?
Speaker 4 (31:07):
It's it's it's it's more reasonable, but the locals can't
enjoy its.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
It costs an arm and lay.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
Its costs so much money just to enjoy the sports
and support your team.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
That's wrong.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
And these money grabs are ridiculous and just throwing more
insult and injury is the stupid toastuff. And you don't
see where the toe truck is.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
They shut their.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Lights, they hide and even if it's a couple of
blocks away or and then they then they have a
scout and then they probably say okay, all right, get them.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
So just be careful.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
You know, if you were always able to park on
a field or park somewhere before. Uh huh careful one
eight seven seven out Dolly, don't go away.

All right, we are back on the DOLLA issue.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Thank you over dinan In one eight seven seven dot
dollar one eight seven seven D O C D A L. I. So,
a very common question I get is from individuals who
are surprised that their job is going to do drug testing.
How long do they have to get the drug out
(34:41):
of their system? And what can they do to facilitate that?
And I'm telling you right now, there are no products
or anything like that that I would even uh suggest
that that has any sort of reliability or safety for
something like that. And you know, if you did drugs,
(35:04):
they're gonna show up at the test. The tests now
were really, really good, the days of well, I'm gonna
drink just a lot of water, and I'm going to
no because your your kidney's concentrate wherever your body wants water.
You know, you could try diluting your urine, but that
could cause medical issues. And if they see diluted urine,
that's a red flag. So you're trying to drink a
lot of water such that your kidneys are only passing water.
(35:28):
And now these tests are really able to pick things up.
So just to kind of review what the timeframe is.
It really depends on the drug and most it also
depends on the testing. I mean a hair follicle test, wow,
I mean yeah, if you use the marijuana, that could
be in your hair for three months now. But if
(35:49):
it's a urine test, roughly they say alcohol will be
in your system or the urine tests will pick it up.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
If you've had alcohol within twelve hours.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
If you take amphetamines, speed two to three days for
typical use, but if you're on them extensively, even longer.
If you take benzodiazepines, depending on if it's like a
short term atavan or clonipin versus like valium, which is
more longer term benzodiazepines, they could be in your system
(36:22):
for up to a month.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Cocaine, if you.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Use cocaine heavily, it could be weeks it being in
your urine test. If it was a one time deal,
maybe a few days. Heroin and other opioids at least
a few days.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Now. It does have a half life.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
They do have half lifes, and some of them are
shorter acting, but longer acting could be longer. And then marijuana,
the THHC component. If you're a casual user, they could
be in your urine test for up to week. If
you're a chronic user, it could be there for about
a month. Now, sometimes companies will do black tests and
blood tests have even higher specificity than you'urine tests. Cocaine
(37:07):
they could pick up within twelve hours. Opioids they could
pick up obviously within a day or two. And then
marijuana in the blood. Now, in the blood, it's interesting.
In marijuana it might last only a few days. In
the blood test. Well, why well, because blood is it's
not like hair or other tissues where it could collect.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
And so your blood test because some people are like.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Well blood test is for me because that it's not
as a chronic the the I could it will pick
it up if I've used let's say the drug days before. Yeah,
but the concentration that it could pick up on may
be stronger, So it's kind of hit or miss.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
So you know, what do you do?
Speaker 4 (37:55):
You have a job, you want a job, You want
to get a commercial driver's life since you want to
work for a company, and then you come to find
out that marijuana is a no no. And this is
something that a lot of people struggle with. Just because
certain states legalized marijuana doesn't mean you can't get fired.
(38:17):
I mean it's yeah, it's it's still considered federally an
illicit substance and under the influence. And so people are
so shocked. They're like, but oh, it's marijuana is legal
where I live. Well, just like alcohol, if somebody wanted
to know if you drink alcohol and and.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
Test you, you know, or or you can't have alcohol.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
On the job, and and I know there's a big
difference between on the job and it being in your system,
but marijuana is a little different because it could be
in your system for a long period of time. So
you know, they you I I really want to help
people who want to work, Okay, I mean I don't
(39:00):
want people working high, but I definitely want to assist
people in getting their job back.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
So I'm not telling you how to pass a drug test, but.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
There's a few things you need to do first and
foremost is get documentation from a medical provider. If you
are taking marijuana or doing gummies or whatever because of
a medical condition, then get documentation of that medical condition.
What we are seeing is that the Ada of Americans
with Disabilities Act allow shall we say, modifications and accommodations,
(39:33):
I should say accommodations depending on your medical condition.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
So let's say you have insomnia and you.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
Are at risk of being addicted to sleeping pills, and
you know, notify your doctor saying look for sleep. This
is what I'm using, you know, but I would like
your recommendation or you know, is that safer than other
sleeping aids. Now, most doctors are not going to say
marijuana is safe for you know that they would tell you,
(40:02):
you know, let's work on sleep, Let's get you into
some therapy, let's check you for sleep apnea. But you
having a doctor's node and showing that you were in
the process of talking to that you know, medical provider
and you're you're treating an issue.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Could provide you some protection. You know. I obviously don't
use the drug.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
I mean that the drug tests are going to be
coming back and I think we're going to be seeing
them more and more.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Why because of liability? And I told you this.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
I told you that, you know, legalizing marijuana, which is
something I voted for in my neck of the woods
because I wanted police freed up, you know, from not
having to you know, they could deal with the more
you know, serious crimes. I wanted us to be able
to study it. So we had another alternative, you know,
for people in chronic pain, because I think I thought
they were going to you know, ridiculously restrict access to
(40:59):
pain medicines by blaming doctors for the fentandel crisis, you know,
and then uh, you know, just to to learn about
it and and and to to see what medicine applications
are there. Well, you know, one side effect of that
is fewer people.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Want to go to work. You're like, oh, I remember
being late for work.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
How you would panic that you would be late for
work because you could lose your job. Now we just
don't seem to have people panic too much about losing
their job these days.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
Like, uh, ain, no thing but a chicken wing. I'm good.
Speaker 4 (41:32):
And so many employers are a little frustrated because they're,
you know, some of their employees are coming back to work,
so they want to know, is this a marijuana user,
you know, who might be more prone to calling out
or sleeping in. I understand ted that movie seemed to
really be over stereotype. Uh, you know, most people who
use marijuana casually are going to make it to their job.
Speaker 3 (41:55):
But that's a way for.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
Them to screen and see if it's going to be
somebody who And then another thing is liability. So even
though marijuana is legal, they do not want doctors and
nurses using marijuana and having it in the system because
if anything does go wrong, you know, and you fail
a drug test, that's on them. So many industries will
(42:18):
not allow you to use and and it it's it's
a question that keeps coming up. You know, does my
surgeon use pot? And is anybody checking them? And how
do we know it's not at a level that could
be affecting their reaction time? And so most hospitals, especially
for privileges, they're just like, you know, no drugs that
(42:40):
I don't care how legal it is now. Do doctors
drink alcohol on occasion? Of course, do doctors use drugs.
I'm sure there's a lot of doctors that do use marijuana,
but they they're you know, they're based on where you work,
not supposed to and and you know, it's it's so
ambiquitous now that we you know, we we take it
(43:05):
for granted, but hearing people panic because they're going to
be possibly failing their drug test. My advice is one,
try not to use it to get at least a
doctor's note you know that can you'll provide you some
sort of protection. And then if you are using it
for a medical condition, you know, start getting a paper
trail on that you know and find something better and safer,
(43:28):
because most likely you're not going to be able to
even if you do get the job, continue to use
the drug seven Doctor Dolly. Hey guys, it's doctor Dahlia.
