We're back for another episode of the four All Nerds Show.
I hope everyone is doing great out there. I might
have some tears in my eyes this episode. They're quite
tears of joy though. It's been a very refreshing. I

(02:15):
don't even know how to describe it. Titana and I
were having a talk about where I've been over the
last week or so. Y'all follow me on Instagram. You
might have seen quick flicks and things I was up
at Shout out to the Better Cells Fellowship. I attended
that last week. I've lost track of time, but yeah,

(02:35):
ided week, Yeah it was last week. It feels like
ages ago and right now. At the same time, I
feel like Doctor Manhattan right now.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
I attended the Better Cells Fellowship and it was just amazing.
Shout out to everyone who attended with me, all the
alumni and everyone up at.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Noel Farm in Vermont of all.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Motherfucking places for putting all this an incredible, incredible event
and one of the best reads of my life for real,
So thank you so much for that. And I'll have
more to talk about it on Instagram and other places,
and perhaps, you know, soon on the show. Well uh
maybe on Patreon, I think that might. Okay, Yeah, we'll

(03:18):
talk more about it on Patreon. So head over to
patreon dot com slash for All Nerds and joined the few,
the proud, the millions, you know what I mean, a
fan fam over there, and you know, you'll get the
exclusive exclusive on what happened at Noel Farm, which was
really incredible, and hopefully, you know, in the nearest future,

(03:39):
we'll be doing something with the for All Nerds and
something of that relation, you know, over there, So lookout that. Yeah, No,
most definitely definitely could be doing some things there. I'm
just not sure exactly what, but definitely, so look out
for that. Effecial if you're in the Vermont area or
happened to be I wanted to talk about. You know,
it's uh, I've never had this experienced before. I never

(04:02):
never had that, you know better sel fellowship. But I've
also never had the experience of what happens when you
don't win an award.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
What a segue.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
You know, It's like it's always the best of times,
in the worst times. You don't remember how blessed we
are in every instant of it.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Yeah, what are you referring to?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
I'm referring to San Diego Comic Con and the Eisner Awards,
which I was not directly nominated, but my book Jimmy
Hendris Purple Haze, and my amazing colorist Justin Prokowitch was
nominated for.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Or is still you.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Know, you're still nominated award? Yeah, and still an Eisner
Award nominated. People don't is still Oscar nomin Oh?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Yeah we still? We still trust me.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
That's on the bio author of the Eisner Award nominated
Jimmy Henders Purple Hates.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
That's why I ain't taking that away, beautiful, But.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
I did learn what happens when you do not win
because you know, I definitely learned what happened. You get nominated,
you know, you get all the texts in the world,
everybody cheering, Yo, you see you got nominated, sending me
all the articles all that.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
When you don't win, well, I'll say, I will say,
at least from a personal perspective, I didn't even realized
that was happening, like, to be honest, Like I was
just like, like the first time I realized you didn't
win was when you wrote it for today. I'm like, like, damn,
that happened already. So yeah, not so blame blame.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
My head, not my heart.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
It was definitely from you.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
It's just like what you mean, ship, y'all have the
ceremony already, you know.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
I'm pretty sure that's the majority of people. I just
also know there were people who were at the ceremony,
you know, and they definitely did not.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Hold that l text and it wasn't And also.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
It's never as loud as like when the nomination happens,
right like, because the nomination gets not to say that
they didn't announce the winner. It's just that the way
that that information flows as much different. You know, when
everyone has a chance of add it and one like me, me, me, oh,
you know, look at my ship. Yeah, and then it's
like that's the one. Everybody else goes dead silence.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
You know basically how it happened because the took place
at San Diego Karma Coom Friday night. I actually thought
they were Saturday because they were Saturday, I think last year,
but maybe not.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
But yeah, there Friday night.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
So I didn't even realize that myself because I thought
it was Saturday night. You know, No, I knew they
were that weekend, but I just thought, oh shit, there
Saturday and Friday night.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Oh ship there Friday. So you know, how's it energy?
All that?

Speaker 4 (06:49):
And I went to sleep because that's just you know,
San Diego, and I wasn't there.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
So it's like and you're not staying up for three hours?

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Yeah like that you know that in the morning.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Yeah, And so I woke up in the middle of
the night checking my phone and it was dead quiet.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
I was like, okay, I lost.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
I lost you know an insert like you Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
I was like, oh, there's no text, you know, there's
no nothing.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
I don't even need to check it, you know, won
or shout out to Jordi Jordi, Butlair won for their
amazing work.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
You know, I cannot lie.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
When I saw the nominations, I was like, Okay, Justin's
good because he got that, but Jordy's up there for
fucking Absolute wonder Woman. When I saw Jordi was up
there for Absolute wonder Woman, which actually ended up winning
Best Series as well, and it's fire as fuck, you know,
I'm I was good to be mad. I was like, ah,
fucking Jordy, does that work? Justin did that work? You know,

(07:46):
all the nominees did that work. But I just knew
to be tight with Jordi up there and then with
them winning Best Series as well. You know, it's always
my always thing is like when the Lakers get beat,
I'm like, whoever beats the Lakers better going on to
win the fucking Chip, you know what I mean. If
they don't win to Chip, then I'm tight. So Jordi
went into Chip and I'm like, Okay, that's good. We
got beat by the you know, a champ, so respect. Yeah,

(08:07):
it's respect, respect doing. And that's a great book. Jimmy
Henders Purple Hayes is a great book and also on
Eisner Award nominated graphic Novel, So you know, thank you
and thank you to everyone who's nominated. It's fucking it's
still the most unbelievable thing in the world to me,
because it's like I still like, you know, we not.
I mean, just the idea that we wrote a Jimmy

(08:27):
Henders graphord novel, it's crazy to me, you know, to
this day, that shit is crazy. And we got to
put that man in space, you know what I mean,
and got to tell the story that we wanted to tell.
And as black as that book is, and as focused
on revolution and what revolution means and what black music

(08:48):
means and all the other things to be put into
this book, it's like just that it exists in and
of itself.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
It's so dope to me.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
You know, the fact that we have a Daylight Soul
shout out a direct reference in there that only a
few people have caught the people caught it, you know
that ship like that is.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Like, I mean, listen, that's all that matters.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
That's what That's what pusha T said about that one
line he has and I don't know if he said
it is in the Trumpets where he's just like, no one.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Got that line or what the line because I didn't.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
He something about ecstasy and Houdini and it relates to
there was someone in the group Hudi that was.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Oh, they didn't get that.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I got that, knew that because that's of a particular
time and you know, particular stuff. So he he had mentioned,
it's just similar to what you're saying, Like he had
mentioned how he was like he didn't care that it
was such a deep cut.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
He was just fired you put that.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Yeah, Oh, I put so many deep cuts in Jimmy
that I didn't care for anyone, but well, I put
them for specific people, and that fi I was surprised
when other people got them because I put them for people.
I was like, Okay, this specific person, when they read this,
they're gonna get it. And then when other people got them, like,
oh ship, there's more dork South and I thought, and
that's great, you know.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
So the fact that it.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Exists, yeah, I don't you know, I didn't write this
for anything but to write it, and that it exists now,
and that it's gotten these award nominations and all the
acclaim and all the love, and anytime anyone has read it,
they've just been really amazed. And impressed, and I just
love conversating with people about it. So you know, all

(10:27):
that shit is so dope and every part of this
has been the most beautiful journey.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
So thank you.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yes, and always as always, congratulations to you. Definitely still
an incredible feat. Win or lose, this is amazing.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
It's all when it's all win, there's no loser. Like
you know, I said, Justin is a winner. To me,
we're all winners. You know my voice about the crat
talking about it, because yeah, it's serious. So thank you again,
thank it everybody for that.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
It's been so dope.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
And if you still want to get a signed copy
of Jimmy Henders Purple Hayes, hit up Anyone Comic. They're
on Instagram, They're on every social media, Anyone Comics and
you can order from them and I will go over
there personally and sign that book. And if you hit
me up and tell me, yo, sign it to this person,
I'll even make that happen. So hit up anyone comments

(11:15):
and get yourself a signed copy of Jimmy Hendris Purple
hay Still in stores now, first print might be, I
mean it's sold out at the production level. So if
you don't get a copy soon. That will be the
end of the first print.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Look at that.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
More winning, more.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Winning, you know, go ahead and get you that.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Speaking of winning, like we said, it was San Diego
Comic Con this weekend.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
We did not attend. I was there last year.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
I loved it, but it's also a lot of money,
and I just you know, I didn't feel like doing
that this year. And I would if I was at
there Osner Awards and oh you know, I would have
been like I mighta Kanye that bitch. So it's probably
good that I was, Yeah, I'm gonna let you finish.
But Jimmy Henders Purple, Hey, I would have made news

(12:07):
Boy been I mean banned from the maybe oh not
maybe I wouldn't do that to Joy. Yeah, like I said,
that's an amazing book. Absolute wonder Woman. It's actually one
of my favorite of the Absolute line. I'm really not
feeling the Absolute Superman or most of it. Well, as
the Marching Man in the School Flash was dope as

(12:30):
what I've seen, but Wonder Woman was like from the
gen I was like this, yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
What happened SDCC that mattered, Like well, it's also because
a lot of the major like houses studios weren't really
even there.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, they kind of skipped it a little bit this year, like.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
I know, Marvel completely skipped Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Marvel skip like hall, you know the big hall where.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
All the there was Peacemaker news. So that tied right
into like his his appearance in Superman film you just mentioned,
you know, wonder Woman. Aztec Batman was announced. They also
announced the next Avatar, the Last Avatar, the Last Airbander

(13:13):
spin off Avatar seven Havens. I'm really interested in this
one because I like, I see the character like a
young girl, I guess, and then she has one one
leg and she has some type of it's like a lynx.
I don't know if y'all know what a lynx is,
but it's a type of like big cat. It looks
like a lynx mix for like a monkey, I think.

(13:34):
And then then it has she has like a companion
and a back, some dude in the back. And then
it's you know, this futuristic looking city that's all made
out of earth and so she according to like that
the quick summary like she is a future earth Bender
or she is an Earthbnder that finds out that she
is the next Avatar, So okay, then you go through
all of that. So and in Seid it's set after Korra.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
I never got to Korra instead of and not finished
the first Avatar. Man.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I've enjoyed what I saw, you know, I loved it
for what I saw. I just never got to the
end of it. I'll probably you know, just watched this
just to you know, go from here.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Okay, yeah, yeah, Aztec Batman.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
I was done to talk about that real quick because
I I'm not sure how this will go.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
It's been off and off for the DC animation. It
wasn't like you know, in their heyday when that shit
was everything was fire. Lately, though, they've kind of got
back to it. Which one did I just peep k
newish that was really dope? Oh shit, I can I
remember something On HBO Max. I was peeping those new
but on the animation note.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
A lot of.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Their movies are on YouTube for free, which I just
found out because for some reason, All Star Superman the
animated version is not on HBO Max. I do not
understand why, but it happens to be on YouTube for free.
So I peeped that the other day because I hadn't
watched that in a minute. I reread All Star Superman
before I saw Superman, but I wanted to see the
animation one, and.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Goddamn it is fire.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
So if y'all have not seen it, if I talked
about this on threads, but if you've seen the New
Superman and you want some really fire Superman content right now,
go to YouTube and put in All Star Superman. It's
free with ads. You got the you know, big Dog YouTube.
You know you ain't got none of that. You can
watch it.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
I'm about to invest in that, the Big Dog YouTube. Yeah,
because I just watched YouTube.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
If you don't want that, you do watch Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
If you watch a lot of YouTube, and I understand
it's and there's so much mass and stuff on YouTube
that it is like yo, it's like YouTube and the
YouTube music.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
There's a lot of wins on YouTube for real, Like,
but they got All Star Superman and it is one
of my favorite ever, if not my favorite ever Superman story.
And the animated movie is of course not as good
as the book, but it's a damn close. It's damn close.
It's really good. So I would definitely keep that. Yeah,

(15:53):
as that Superman, well, I mean it was we'll see.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Did you see the gen V season two trailer? I've
been Are you into that anymore?

Speaker 2 (16:01):
I feel like you don't care so much about the
boys in that universe anymore?

Speaker 4 (16:04):
And then the whole I feel like it crossover with
the Boys that the trailer felt like, oh, you know,
we're gonna put the boys in here, and then they're
gonna yeah, yeah, paying her, and then they're gond vantage
five minutes later when she goes back to school.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Because I watched the trailer and I was like, okay.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
I'm yeah, no, yeah, I know, as someone's read every
issue the Boys comic, I still and regrets it. I've
kind of regretted a lot of the time I spent
with that show, and I don't think I'll ever go back.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Yeah, Walking Dead is still alive.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, amazingly, I'm good Season three and Darryl.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Muny terms will fight Godzilla.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Oh. On that note, I did read Godzilla versus the
Avengers versus Ddzilla destroys the Marvel Universe, and I'm here
for it. Like I read the first issue of that, Jordan,
I'm definitely here for it. It is as hilarious and
ridiculous as it should be. Guys, Willa should have tears
of Celestial's head off in the first issue, and you
know it just goes from there and.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
More like pop culture crossover. Captain America will fight the
Xeno War from Alien.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Yeah, they've been doing hard with that.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
They had they had the Avengers versus the Aliens and
that was written by like Hitman or somebody, you know.
They they've been going like super hard with that with
these scenes. Predator fought spider Man recently. Yeah, yeah, you
know Marvel, you know, Disney Ball, Fox. So that's where
we're here at.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
I'm a huge Paradise fan. They said that they're gonna
reveal why Homegirl once.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
That we so fucking bad.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Yeah, one the other things they're gonna give a whole
backstory for Jane.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
So I'm wondering where Paradise will go in this second
season because I say it.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Out, I'm just like, I'll see outside now right here
outside the bubble, what's happening now? The whole world of
talks about or does that kill the does that kill
the does the chill? The show was because you know,
it was all about the bubble and then yes, the
bubbles a lie but then do we care about.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
The wasteland.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Already wastland because you know what I said, yeah it was,
it's a wasteland to a degree.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
I don't know, like if you give me any type
of post apocalyptic you know, walking deadish.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Without zombies, mad Max.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
I've seen it before, nigga, like we all have seen
it a million times. That you got to give me
something more original and weirder than that, because I really
like you. I thoroughly enjoyed that first season that ship.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
It's also like my type of TV where when it's
like terrible but good and terrible, like Shorty killing niggas
over weeds.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
You know, that's fantastic. No no, who no, no, no,
that holy up.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
When when that nigga was like, yo, just give me
one last minute with my nieces and nephews, my nigga,
we know you about to die.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
No, this shit is terrible, like they they played so
much into.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
This thing about to die, you know, and they did.
It's that type of show. It's like Power, you know,
but look, I love you know.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
I will never talk bat On.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
I'll never talk about on Power.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
You're like, you know me, you know I've watched everything,
you know, other than Tommy show.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
That's just ass nigga. Tommy deserves better. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
The other the only other news like I personally want
to height was the the two Star Wars shows.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
So Ahsoka season two.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
I don't know if you're into that because you didn't
really like the first one.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
The first one, I'm praying for forgiveness.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
And then they're doing a Darth Mall series Darth mauls Shadow.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
I think it's is it animated?

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Is that like c G I, yeah, it's animated.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Darth Maul has like spoiler alert for like a ten
year old fifteen I.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Don't know how many old shows.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Darth Maul has like the most incredible art throughout Clone Wars,
and then it ends in Rebels and like one like
right now, I'm just thinking about it. It's like because
basically he gets to go back and confront Obi Wan,
and it is it's a mirror image of their first
fight from when you know Obi Wan gets when Quegong

(20:19):
gets killed and obi Wan Chopshim in half and Darth
Marl is a perfect ending. So this takes place before
that obviously, because they're not resurrecting him again after that.
So it's like, ah, maybe, but I don't know. I've
kind of seen enough Darth Maul. But we'll see, because,
like I say, throughout Clone Wars and Rebels, they they
turn him from a one note horror show that he

(20:41):
is in Phantom Menace into a true character who goes
in through an incredible arc of revenge and then learning
that revenge and what it's about, and it's just a
it's incredible. Darth Maul is such a dope character over
that animated shit. Yeah, Dar Maul, Yeah if you And
that's what I'm saying, Like he's just in you know,

(21:02):
Phantom Menace, he's just a terror.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
He has no real character, but you know they gave
with terrorsts. He was just fired just.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
Being terror and then they give him real It's like
you know, Boba Fet was fired just being a bounty
hunter and then they bullshit.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
You know, I'm sorry just to know because that birth
what you know now about the Mandalorian which ended up
in some bullshit.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
But here we have a whole different universe.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
We have trillions of Mandos now, you know, it's not
just one nigga.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
No and that and that.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
But see that's some good shot I'm talking about, you know,
the Book of Boba Fet, whereas like, no, that was
not only of mind jangle Fet being the you know,
father of the Tones. I think that's kind of cool actually,
So it did work out in the general sense. But
Darth Maul's story throughout the Tone Wars and Rebels is

(21:53):
some fire ship.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
They gave him a brother Savage Oppress my.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Man, you know, even though he had to fire name
meets a grizzly and and you know it's it's a
lot that ship is dopepe, so we'll see this might
be dope. Yeah, I'm holding out hope. They also, I
guess it wasn't at San Diego Coma Coma. I thought
it was the new Avatar Fire and Ash from James Cameron.

(22:19):
The trailer dropped.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Oh yeah, yeah, did you see Did you go to
see that trailer?

Speaker 1 (22:24):
And I'm glad I didn't. I'll be dead honest with y'all.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Sorry shout out to the you know, marketers putting that on,
but I'm really glad I did it.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Like I didn't see the point, like you already know
what it is.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
It's gonna be the same, you know, if started as Pocahontas.
Then it's gonna be it's becoming something else.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
About this and it's the same ship yet that is
the bore.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
And then it's the over acting and the terrible voice and.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
The screaming yes, and the individuals and the white man
with dreads, which shout out to Tyler, I need to go.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Back to our review of the Avatar too, or whatever
it was, whatever the last one was, whether three years ago.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Remember the fucking.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Whale, Oh my god crying weal oh by shout off
to Joel.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
We need to get some clips up of that one
because I need to see that the whale.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
I remember us.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Laughing and we're in a theater laughing. You guys want
to laugh at that.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
And then watching this new trailer, I was literally thinking,
I know there are shots from the last trailer that
I could switch and you wouldn't know because there was
a shot of one of the navvy pulling the bowl
and screaming, and I.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Know that shot was in the last trailer.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
No, not recycling, but it's.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
The same, it's the same story, it's the same things happened.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
This one just has more firing, different more fire And
as at the end of the trailer.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
The villain, I guess, says to one of the Navvy,
I don't know who the I can't tell all the
Sigourney Weaver. No, no, there's another feeling now and then no,
it's not Jake is in the.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Jakes the ces that turned into an actual good.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Yeah, well, no, it's it's one of the Ja's kids,
I think, because it's one of the Sigourney Weaver looking kids,
or it's that Sigourney Weaver I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
With Sigourney Weaver like playing the kids made young. Yeah,
surn is voicing the younger n Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
And that's okay, what's that one? It's the young Sigourney
Weaver looking thing and sorry thing, but it is. And
then one of the evil nabb is attacking her, and
the evil Navi says something about your goddess has no
power here, and I'm I didn't know the Nave prayed
any one of the first fucking.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Blades like this, the trees and ship.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Well, I guess it's like the sacred tree in the middle.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Also, maybe that's what they're refering to nature.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
And like a guy you type figure.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
True, I guess they did pray to Yeah, you're right,
all right, so all right, I'll take that back out.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Yeah, they did pray there are people.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Of the earth man people of the land.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
I guess he's other than av with they're firing about that.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
You saw the niggas was flying around.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Teradac was on the last one, and and and then
then the whole people's who was on the seafaring people
they got to hit you know, all the captain planets points.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Earth fire, you know, water Bender fire, We did the water.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Bender, we did you know, now it was the fire
Bender's turn. So then we're gonna go back to Earth.
Remember we also know James he has like twenty of
these movies lined up, right, Remember, but.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Now he says he's they've put it down the five.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Oh fuck out of here.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Okay, I think it's probably be five. So we're on
three right now.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
Films, that's what they're gonna get. Oh my god. After
it's never gonna stop.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
And as long as y'all can making it make money,
it's never gonna stop.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
I swear to God.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Like I could not tell the difference other than there
was more fire and ash, I could not tell any difference.
And that white boy with dreads looks more fake now
for some reason. You know, that's like the realest person that.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
The young kid.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
He looks more fake now as he's grown up. Spider okay,
oh that one. Oh my god, that nigga's name is Spider.
I forgot because like spider Monkey, is that what they're
trying to get at?

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Maybe there were? It just feels racist the more and
more I think about it.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
How is it he's white?

Speaker 4 (26:32):
I don't know, but Tyler the creator said it on
his new albums, I don't fuck with white boys with dreads, and.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
I just felt the dreads.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Well, listen, the whole thing was born off of a
problematic idea to begin with.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
So I don't understand why the NAVI have dreads when
their hair is like straight as fuck normally, you know,
but then like they some of them just have like
the most kinky dreads.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
In the world.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
You're asking too many questions.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
My brother. I know I'm asking questions that needed to
be yes.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
I'm gonna ask you questions about water and black performers,
production team.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
None of my business.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
I did want to think. Again, Thank you Jason Clark
again for coming on the show with me. Last week
to talk to me about Star Trek and if y'all
miss that, that's actually a really good episode of great conversation.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
We had up to.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Yeh, right on, I just smoked big crack. I smoked
the finest crack. Shout out to Jason Clark for admitting,
you know, the crack.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Edition giving Notwithstanding, it was an excellent conversation. Pretty much
me just trying to understand why should I care about
Star Trek again? Right Like, I have pretty much on
the Star Wars side for a few years now and
I have not been checking for Trek at all, And
I was like, what is there for me? So he
actually gave some compelling arguments talk a little bit more

(27:59):
about it.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
He mentioned a couple of shows for me to watch.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
I actually started watching one of them, Star Trek Lower Debts,
which is the animated and I like it. I think
I watched like maybe six seven episodes straight. It's very
much like Rick and Morty needs Classic Trek so but
the humor is good. There's not too much like like
you know, Freck and Morty could cross the line a

(28:24):
lot of times, Like it's not too much of the
cross of the lines. But it's just like even that
almost that approach to that type of animation, that type
of humor, but mixed with like Trek tropes, you know,
like the original series, next Generation, like all of that
is all mixed in too, like all the jokes and
the callbacks and stuff. So I will say Jason though,

(28:46):
that not to say that you don't have to have
Star Trek, Like you don't have to have Star Technology
to enjoy it, but it does improve the experience significantly
to have it.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Like if you come in there with nothing.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Again, if you just like it animation and want to
try something new, you may fuck with it. But like
there's so many in jokes and other things that I
would still argue that you still need to have. I
would recommend that you come in with something. So I
don't know that can still be I know he was like, oh,
you don't need He's like, you don't need anything. I

(29:20):
don't know, and you can hit me in the comments
if you feel differently, But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
This is one of the ones.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Where if I put this out in the world, like
as it is now, I put it out to a
random they're not gonna get it.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
No.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
I think Lower deads from what I understand from what
everything from the Trouble seasons has been on whatever. I've
always known that there's a show where you need star
tread knowledge to get some It's definitely yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
It's real and again it's still a good show still.
It's actually it's actually clever, it's funny, all this other stuff,
and I see where it's building up, and it has
a lot of seasons already. It's building up and really
giving you more about the characters. However, it's very Trek.
It's very Trek coded. You you can't, you can, but

(30:05):
I don't think you're gonna You're gonna miss half of
the jokes.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
So and just a quick retort to Jason into everyone
in the YouTube comments and Instagram and to thank you
about what about agreeing with him about saying that Trek
is the smarter show.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
It's oh yeah, that this is this is what Ben
was referring to when he said he was smoking cract.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
Like you mentioned, he Jason said that he felt.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
No, he said Star Wars was a simpler the universe
compared to Trek.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
And it's the same argument that or a similar argument
that Young Giru made on the show years ago. And
it's still an argument that I definitely in some ways
can see where it comes from. But the larger point
about it is, and this was what I finally left
one of the commentars with. They were trying to go
back and forth with me, and I said that Star

(30:59):
Trek is not culturally relevant in any way, shape or
form to even affect even the most minute amount of change.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Well, actually culture irrelevant. Now I'm gonna I'm gonna back
you up for a second.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
It's not that was my point now.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
And while change is can be made on a smaller
scale and hopefully you know, whatever points they're making on
these shows are reaching their audience and you know, affecting
change on that level, to say that, you know, it's
like this big, you know, massive cultural movement behind Star
Trek just ain't there right now.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
I don't know if he said that though he no,
but that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
No, that's but that was my response to somebody who's like, oh,
but you know, smoothing and I'm like, what it could be.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
It's like the smart.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Culture movement behind Smart in the corner, you know, but
that doesn't you know, if you over there streaming in
the woods, how smart it are.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Does anyone hear it?

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Like, let's be honest, Trek has no motion right now. No,
and it's trying to and it's random things happening, and
Paramount got all the money in the world and just
keep throwing at them, but it has no motion. It
has no cultural cachet right now. It's not like I said,
I hadn't made a note. Yeah, I made the reference
when I was speaking to Jason just about how Ever,

(32:12):
since like you know, the the Zachary Quinto as you
know Spock Days, you know those those bad what is
it jj Abrams films, like, not since that time has
Trek really been even and I say culturally relevant, I
mean even in the zeitgeist, like in the mainstream, like.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
And what year was that? Was that mid two thousands
before that.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Was a different time, boy.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
They I mean, okay, mid two damn.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
But it's started in two thousand and nine, yeah, and
then went through to like twenty sixteen.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Excuse me, No, it's been a long time.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
It's been a while, and I'm just like, give me
something new. So no, and there's good things happen, but
it's just not on the level of what Wars is.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
No, And I would just always dispute the idea that
one is simpler than the other, because even like he
was making, you know, in a lot of comments like
well you know and or you know now it's just
smart and I know it's always it's just a different
type of thought. You know, Star Trek well and they
know they both are very philosophical, you know. That's why

(33:23):
I've always been attracted to Star Wars is Empire Stripes
back when it especially in the Empire Stripes, back when
Yoda's introduced. Everything Yoda says to Luke is like very
deep shit that if you apply it to life or
even use it in thought in life, well have you like, yo,
this is a very deep philosophical question, like he says,
you know, we are not proved matter.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
You see me as this thing. Luminous beings are weak.
You know.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
That's you know, like an idea that we're not this shell,
that we are an energy trapped in this shell, living
experiencing life through that These are thoughts, you know, these
are not you know, just simple things. And so I
just always dispute the idea that it's just about pew
PW lasers forwards and ship it's like, that's what it is.
If you take it like that, it's just like if
you take Star Trek, it's about beating me up, Scottie.

(34:10):
You know, if you take anything at it's simplest thing.
You can reduce things to simple things, but they're often
more complex than that. Sure, and ors are more like,
you know, it's just one of the greatest, if not
the greatest television show for all time.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
But Star Wars has always had these ideas.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
That's why, and or can it's just a universe yeah,
and then yeah, of course back in the day, Star
Trek you know, always was on top of shit. But
nowadays a nigga, I don't even you know, I couldn't
find it to know if they are on top of shit.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
It's just needs to fresh ideas and these fresh ideas,
fresh people, and it needs to innovate again, you know,
like there's that That was my argument.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
It was just like there's.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
There's a doctor who.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
The foundation, but it was just like, there's no there
hasn't been anything that has stoked the imagination.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
There's nothing that you know.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
Yes, there's still lots of conversation about you know, ethics,
the morality and all that that all that stuff is
still there and you know, dealing with racism and this
isn't that like all of that philosophical shit is still
there and it happens, but it's just like it's not penetrating.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
It's yeah, and it's like things like that are happening.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
These other things like The Good Place, you know, and
other shows where it's like that are penetrating the consciousness.
So and I have often talked about how that is
one of the most disappointing things in science fiction. And
I even made a video about that on Instagram and everything,
where I was talking about how that's why I really
loved something in Superman and Fantastic for is hope. And

(35:41):
that's one of my favorite things about Star Trek and
something that I always took from Star Wars is the
idea of hope and how necessary it is and how
powerful hope is. And I've been missing that in science fiction,
and so that's why I feel like Star Trek really
needs to get it together and get where they're penetrating
the consciousness and offer a hopeful vision of the future

(36:02):
that is achievable through humans, or at least show us
awaited it couldvenually happened, right, because I feel like that
is not being and that's a detriment to everyone, and
it's just a problem in writing in general, and it's
an easy cop out for a lot of writers these days.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
Right, what else? What else been? What other news you have?
This is the news for me?

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
Shout out to bj kicks over at Comics Are Dope,
a very fire as YouTube channel.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
If you haven't checked, to go ahead and hit that
like and subscribe on Comics Are Dope.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
The brother for a few years now over at Comics
Are Dope has been out there in the world being
a black man or you and comic books, which, as
we know, is a dangerous occupation, and been doing a
really fine job at it. So him and I are
doing a new crossover series, Comments Are Dope meets Comics
I copped, and once a month we are going to
be dropping them reviews on you, you know, distressing our

(36:59):
favorite books a month.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Both of us have.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Our list of books and we'll be distressing and we're
recording this week, so that should be hitting probably first
week or August, and look out for that, you know, the.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
First week of every month coming up.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
You know, our favorite books of each month, and many
more comics are copped are coming back to Instagram.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
I've been back on my reading heavy.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
I have this new book, They Chose, They Chose Violence,
that I'm going to talk about with BJ and I
also want to talk about separately because it's a very
interesting book for people who have read it or heard
about it. It's doing a lot of ways right now.
It's a book about these black women who choose violence
basically and decide to start going around killing white people

(37:43):
who they feel, you know, need justice done to them.
I do too, to a point, you know.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
Go South or something.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
I'll tough with the premise, and you know, it's a
limited series and we're about halfway through, so I'm waiting
to see how they go, you know, but yeah, I
have some issues with it so far. I would love
to have some of the creators on here to talk
to them. It's from my actual Alonso friend of the show,
his new company that he's been working with for the

(38:17):
last few years so and they're definitely the type of
company who are pushing things to you know, television film,
so you might see it. They Chose, I don't notice.
It's a tough one. Yeah, when I say they chose von.
They choose it, boy, I mean like they choose it.
Like yeah, like I said, I just have some questions,

(38:40):
I'll say, you know, like, I just have some questions
that I really want to talk to the creators about.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Oh, I want to see where they go. But you
know I'm going to distress.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
Yeah, I wanted to distress this with BJ and we'll
talk more about it. And definitely I'm asking some videos
on ticket and Instagram very soon about it, so look
out for that.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
That's fair good.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Before I forget, I wanted to get a quick birthday
shout outs recent birthdays to Gotham geek girl, you love you,
always support you, and also happy birthday to Ato Assando
Oh yep, yep. Technically as we're recording today is his birthday,
so oh no, a longtime friend of the show as well.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (39:20):
You know, we can't get out of here without talking
about you know something else, you know, a little show
that's dropping us week this Friday on Disney Plus all
four episodes August first, right, All four episodes of the
new animated series Eyes of Akanda is dropping this Friday.
Tatanna and I have gotten see all four episodes already.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
Mm hmmm, mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (39:45):
You know, no spoilers, We're not gonna say anything, you
know about anything really, but some general thoughts.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
I watched it.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
I've seen all four episodes now, uh, not the last one,
but the first three I watched. You know, the first
time I watched, I just pretty much stemmed through. I
was like, okay, animation, pool, you know, great action, all
that type of stuff. I saw, you know, caught some
of the connections the episode, but I wasn't really you know,
fully deep diving. And my second watch, I really deep dive,
paid attention, really thoroughly enjoyed it. Mad that it's only

(40:19):
four episodes, Mad did because this is basically a history lesson.
These four episodes are basically history lesson of Wakonda as
the series you know they've talked about since its inception.
This is about we're seeing the agents, the war dogs
of Wakanda at different times in history and how they

(40:41):
operated as they were being the odds of Wakanda, the
agents of Wakanda out in the world. So you're seeing
different historical moments through a Wakandan perspective.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Basically. Yeah, and one of my big takeaways is like, Yo,
these niggas.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
I mean, we we've said it since Black Panther, but yo,
y'all niggas really endure slavery really.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Like it could have reread.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
All of us.

Speaker 4 (41:07):
I mean like this was like it was like the
realization that y'all have had this text since you know,
I get it.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
I'm a memorial, Yes, say I also, yes, really enjoyed
the show when I watched this instead Wait a minute,
because this was news to me what Kan has been around.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
For They've been around, but I don't know you always
had this around.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
It's when they say, oh no, they've been ancient similization.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
Yes, y'all think this is over here text and flying ship.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Right and and it's.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
So and what like even until you like you paid
like maybe the second episode, the second or third episode,
you don't realize you realize the timing on like the
type of time they on because you're like, wait a minute,
And it's hard because what ConA is so advance, right,
like everything is the fucking future.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
But then it's like similar Star Trek.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
It's like we're in the future, but it's the past, right,
This is the old future tech, right, you're watching old
future tech but the ship is so advanced you don't
know what year or what.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Times line they're in.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
And then when you do realize that, sometimes it's right
there on the screen, and when you do, you're like, these.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
Niggs was there.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
That's every time every episode, I just kept screaming, these
niggas was there?

Speaker 3 (42:28):
And to your point, where the fuck was.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
You on the Transatlantic slave trade? And again, I don't
even know that would ever be touched on.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
I don't even know they have it touched on.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
The whole series is definitely about what Kanda's isolaated.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
It's about what Condat saying. But I'm talking about you
that which you said specifically? Did you You said a very.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
Specifically, But that's how that's how it's touched on, Nigga.
We didn't do ship for nobody.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
You know, but they've been saying that. They've been saying
that since the beginning. That's how it is. You know, sorry,
you know, like we didn't, you know, we ignored.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
It all, bro, No listen, I I thoroughly.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
I did also thoroughly enjoyed the series again, love the animation.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
I love the song yo.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
I don't know if you read through the castles, but
the castlest is a one.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
Oh no, I didn't see that, but I could hear it.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
A one voice acting, and it's mostly black people. You
get Chris Williams, you know, black Lighting, Anica Noni Rose,
Gary Anthony Williams.

Speaker 3 (43:30):
Gary Wis is a god of voice acting.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Who played the Lion.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
Chris Williams.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Who's pres Williams Black Lightning from the CW Remember.

Speaker 4 (43:43):
Yeah, the actual he's the actual black Lightning.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
No, the guy who played Black Night is Chris Williams.

Speaker 4 (43:50):
Name is Chris Williams, and he's yeah, okay, played the
actual black Lightning.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
Yeah, incredible voice.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Yeah, same guys.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
What I was trying to get killed?

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Fielding Patricia Belcher, Lynn Whitfield, Steve Tson, when I don't
know Whinnie Herlow is there for some reason.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Winnie Harlow Like, uh.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
Oh, deny, she has a credit, you.

Speaker 3 (44:16):
Know what I'm saying, Like and and and hosts of.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Other people like really major, like they did they big one,
Isaac Robinson Smith. They did their big one with the
cast right the the pasting, the storylines are dope, like
there's there's nuance in there, and then like it all
makes sure it ties into the greater MCU story by

(44:41):
the end, like it brings you back to where you
need to be and it's just like, oh, so Ben,
I mean saying it really is a history lesson of
Wakanda and where they've been, what they've been doing, who
these war dogs are, gives you more context. And I
that's what I've loved and enjoy the most about these
Black Panthers centers, either animations or TV shows. Was that

(45:02):
giving more backstory, because I feel like there's so much
backstory with other MCU properties, but I'm just like, more
about Wakanda, more about all of the different players of Wakanda,
and I like, like you said, more about why Wakanda
don't fuck with no body and you know, how do
they get to where they are now?

Speaker 4 (45:20):
So yeah, especially, I really loved all the show to
all four episodes. The second episode especially is really.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
Dope to me.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
Yeah, it ties into actual well not mythological history.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
I guess I.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
Thought, I don't. I was trying to figure out what
was the mythological or real.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
Yeah, a lot of that stuff isn't might might have happened,
might not have happened, basically, So that's how I'll say it.
You know, it deals with Roman history, and a lot
of that stuff is like maybe maybe.

Speaker 1 (45:52):
Not like maybe even not you're right, or maybe it
didn't happen exactly.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
It's a legendary story, so like it may have existed,
this might have happened, but it became you know.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
Even more fantastical and the retailing.

Speaker 4 (46:04):
But they and they flipped and flip you for real
that story and I really liked how they did that
and tied it into the history when you look up
the Middle logical history.

Speaker 1 (46:14):
But oh, that's a very dope flip. So that was
a very dope episode.

Speaker 4 (46:19):
The third episode, I really liked how it ties in
the Marvel history, you know, outside of Wakanda.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
That was very fire.

Speaker 4 (46:26):
And in the fourth all the episodes there's a crew
line through them, and how it all goes down to
the fourth episode was really dope. It's like in these
even though it's only four and I know there's be
some complaints about that they packed so much into.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
These four episodes, which is still a complaint to me
because I'm like, for them to be able to pack
so much, why not be given more?

Speaker 3 (46:48):
Kisses me off like it.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Does four episodes, Like, yeah, it's a great complete package.
I will say that, however, common is like, well, shit,
is this a test? Yeah, it's so, oh are we
gonna get more? Because like they coulda went the route
of what's it if with this in terms of number
of episodes, and like for them to do what they
did with a little bit they had, y'all could have

(47:11):
gave them six mos.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
Like yeah, and at thirty minutes, like like you you
couldn't you? I don't know, just say.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
Consumed, but you really like go through these fairly fast
because you're you're learning, Like I think that's what stands
makes us a standout, Like, yes, it's entertainment, but you're
literally learning. Look these characters in the history of you know, yes,
a fictional place of fictional people, but that matters in
the greater storytelling of you know, one giant superhero apparatus, right,

(47:42):
Like it's learning, it's deep learning. And and for them
to tie it to like historical or semi historical you know, events,
is makes it even larger in terms of, like you
understand because now like they're incorporating things that you probably
if you're American anyway, you probably learned in school.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
Yep. So like World Ride, I think how many.

Speaker 3 (48:03):
Stuff is worldwide? Yeah, definitely, but but.

Speaker 4 (48:08):
I was assuming Italy all that Roman ship, like, you know,
that must be big dollship for them here, you know
they must you know, all.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
Three year all of it.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
Stories is absolutely fantastic. So Mad as Hell is only
four episodes. I appreciate that they pushed it up because
it was supposed to come out later, and they pushed
it out to August first, this Friday, but you know,
I want more, so I'm hoping again we have to
we have to do what we gotta do. We gotta
put our all into this. We have to really watch this,

(48:39):
really make a big deal about this, and hopefully that
will spur more more I guess energy on this and
more like effort on bringing this. You know, maybe we
could get an Eyes of Wakonda extended season. I don't
even know if this is considered the season like something.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Yeah, I'm really wondering, you know.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
And again, like after iron Hart and then to see
the incredible reaction to iron Heart, I know this.

Speaker 1 (49:07):
Is going to get that same thing.

Speaker 4 (49:08):
But I know that should be the number one thing,
you know, where's more and for it to be an
animation where it's would take time.

Speaker 3 (49:14):
But I would hope it's not get that same level.

Speaker 2 (49:16):
And besides the fact that it's the center around black
people because it's Wakanda, so the fanboys get a pass like, oh,
that's where the black people live, so that's okay for
the black people to show up.

Speaker 4 (49:26):
Oh you mean, like as far as you're getting hate, yes, no, No,
Negro niggas don't Tupac niggas don't hate you for whatever you.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
Do, it don't matter. But not for the same reasons, not.

Speaker 4 (49:36):
For the same reason. But them crackers don't hate, you know,
for all the same reasons. Racists will find a way
to be racist.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
You know. It's like there's no way to get around that.

Speaker 4 (49:45):
Like shout out to Genesia and the comments who said,
don't ever let that check off white man to turn
you from doing.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
Life. They said, we failed.

Speaker 2 (49:59):
That's And also for the episodes, I did want to
mention the shout out Todd Harris who directed the episodes,
and then one of the writers or potentially the writer,
Jeffrey Thorn.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
Jeffrey is a black man.

Speaker 1 (50:11):
Oh yeah, that's a homie. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (50:13):
And also Mark Bernardy is also one of the mark
yep shout out to him. And you know, of course
the Coodlers, you know our producers and and you can
feel their stamp on it because it's pat just like
you know, Centers and everything else they do.

Speaker 1 (50:27):
It's like and.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
Jeff Jeffrey Thorn, like he's done Ben Ten, like all
of the Ben Ten's Ultimate Spider Man, Justice League, Avengers Assemble,
like Power, Power Book two Ghosts. He did an episode
they fire.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
That's my show.

Speaker 2 (50:45):
The whole point is this man is well versed and
he knows how to how to pack a bunch into
these episodes.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
So you know, kudos.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
Look, anyone who worked on Power, I commit. I know
they know how to tell a good story. They know
how to take that ship to the utmost ridiculousness.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
Yeah, I just need Yeah, that's my only complaint about
Isaaca Connor.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
I want more. I just want more.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
And that's not even the fall of the people put
it together. But but what I did get it was
it was fantastic. So I definitely recommend it.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
Hell yeah, I think people can eat it up.

Speaker 4 (51:12):
Like you know, we'll see a lot of reaction and
we'll doesnitely have more to talk about it, you know,
probably do an all star review. Because I would love
to distress it with yeah, blurds and things of that
nature real quick.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
I also wanted to give a shout out.

Speaker 4 (51:25):
I've not gotten past the first episode, but I'm definitely
gonna get back into it.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
Washington Black on Hulu right now.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
That's the pirate. Pirate Is that the guy he's on
the ship and around yep.

Speaker 4 (51:38):
Yeah, and he were saying that it really gets into
like the history of London and the history of black
people in London. That's I really want to check it
and shout out to my brother Selwyn, say food hens,
who's in that?

Speaker 3 (51:49):
That's not who's in that? Who plays the main guy?

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Ernest Kingsley Junior as George Washington Washed.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
The Little okay, the young one Yeah yeah, and Rupert
Graves as mister Golf.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
I know, but they say Ernest is like going to
be a star, you know from this and whatever else
he's doing.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
So okrect yeap oh. Sterling k Brown is also.

Speaker 3 (52:13):
That's all trying to say s paradise yea.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
Yeah. So Sterling's in it, and that's Selwyn.

Speaker 4 (52:24):
I think he's the showrunner, executive producer.

Speaker 1 (52:26):
This is his joint. So shout out with my brother
over there.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
So I definitely want to get back into it people
who really enjoying it. And let me let me know
out there if you are watching this and you know,
enjoying it and all that good stuff, that's what's up.

Speaker 2 (52:38):
Before we go out of here. We do want to listen.
We always ask you guys to if we want to
know what you have going on, if there's some projects
that you're working on, if there's anything amazing that you
want to do that you want to share, please tell us.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
If you have questions for us, if about anything.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
Could be about fandom, could be about you want some advice,
whatever it is, could be just about life in general,
like we want to know, so make sure you hit
us up. You can hit us up contact at four
O nerds dot com. You want to have some privacy
doing in the emails or you can do it right,
you can d m us, you can write it, write
in the comments. But we want your questions, like we
want you guys to reach out ask us whatever it is.

Speaker 4 (53:17):
And that's how you know Jason Clark appeared on our show.
They reached out to us and we're like, you know,
let's see what this man has to talk about.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (53:24):
So if you're one of those people, if you're doing
anything interesting or you know, you're out of project. You know,
you have your little YouTube channel with you know, five followers,
but you know you talk.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
I mean, I'm just.

Speaker 4 (53:35):
Saying, you know, you're growing, coming up. You know, we're
a little YouTube channel ship. We're just growing and coming up.
But if you have you know, something where you want
to you know, promote or talk about it. You know,
if you're putting in that work, like you know, shout
out to my man, comics are dope. You know, we're
collabing with them. You know, we would love to do
more of this type of thing. So if you're out
there in this space, you know, or doing anything in
the space that Jason hit us up, talk to us.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
Let us know what you're doing, and well, you know,
see we can work together.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
And with that, we do have a question that we
never got to answer that we do want to answer now,
all right. The question is actually from the Rizarden listener
known as riz Riz and I don't think we ever
answered this, but I don't think so we're gonna we're

(54:22):
gonna do remember this. The question goes, what fictional group
would you join? If they were real.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
That's a great question, riz I got.

Speaker 2 (54:32):
I always growing up, I always wanted to join Team Rocket.
I've always from Pokemon. That's Jesse and James, and I've
always wanted to be a member of Team Rocket. I
swear to God, like that could have been my profession
if it was available.

Speaker 4 (54:48):
I got one from growing up, and it ain't fictional.
But I wanted to be a member of Digital on
the Ground, the music group I just wanted to.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
Be fiction not fictional though fictional group.

Speaker 1 (54:59):
I mean, I know that I'm saying this is not
a fiction group.

Speaker 4 (55:02):
They're a real life group, but I you know that
is a group I defperately wanted to be a member.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
I just wanted to be a background member, did you
on the ground?

Speaker 2 (55:11):
The groups I always want to join are like the
villain groups. Like I said, I mentioned Team Rocket from Pokemon.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
I didn't know they were the villains them.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Technically they're they're they're they're the villains. But you know
how they do good here and there, but mm hmm,
because they have more fun than their's hilarious and they.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
Dripped the draft go so hard.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
It's just like, ah, no, I gotta I gotta be
on that side of things, you know.

Speaker 4 (55:35):
Yeah, Cobra, I definitely wanted to even No, I like
Joe to go gaddo. Both of them had you like
them over over. I like the Ninjas, I like I
was in Ninja fans, so like I like Snake Eyes
and storm Shadow, So I would hang out with either
of them.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
I didn't give a ship what side they were on.
You know.

Speaker 4 (55:53):
That was my that was my Joe fans. But both
of them had dripped like they both had fly outfits,
you know. So and Cobra like their color streamer just
blue is kind of.

Speaker 1 (56:03):
Boring to me.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
Depending on which version I would join the Scepticons and
only And my thing is like lately they've really been
given Optimist like his respect about like how powerful this
nigga is and how like this this nigga's a big
crash out too, So it's just.

Speaker 1 (56:21):
Like, yeah, see I could crash out Optimist though, see
I like you missed that.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
Until like recently, and like like mercy, I'll get mercy.

Speaker 1 (56:31):
No, no optimist.

Speaker 3 (56:33):
Now it's busting niggas and short that's what it was
in the past.

Speaker 4 (56:36):
But I wasn't getting that, I know because I told
you like the movie when that nigga drives over there
in sept the CON's head like like literally like this
nigga is set, the kind is trying to crawl back
up on this bridge and this niggas like going into
the and you know he's in the way, and this
nigga crushes that nigga's head flat and does not even blink.

(56:57):
You know, we were Yeah, optimist in the movie was different.

Speaker 3 (57:03):
I'm sure we were talking.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
I was just as I was reading this, like I
had just randomly said the flax smashers, like from fucking
what was it.

Speaker 3 (57:14):
The winter Soldier.

Speaker 1 (57:15):
Jesus served served hard?

Speaker 4 (57:18):
Yeah, like off Like that's I was telling Ton, that's
like my top five hilarious. You know, catch getting dunned
off in film top five gotta be. I think blowing
up in that van was, Oh my god, I fucking
just cry laughing thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (57:39):
I think it would be fire to be a member
of the Dori in Milita.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
Oh there you go, damn.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Especially after off watching off the heels of the Eyes
of Wakanda.

Speaker 1 (57:47):
Yeah, I'd be down, reaffirmed again, since I can't be
one of them, I'd be down to be one of
the war Dogs.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
Yep, like that, but the door is bad.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
You know the war Dogs.

Speaker 4 (57:58):
You know, I can't I can never pronounce how said
in Wanda, But the.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
War doll a fire.

Speaker 3 (58:06):
I would be a planeteer.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Okay, another great one.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
And you know they're doing allegedly they're about to do
a new Captain Planet, like a yeah, action or animated,
but a movie or something like that.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
I'm like, okay, why and I mean, right now.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
Is action because like as soon as they mentioned that,
people started immediately joking about Man's that that did the
vulgar Captain planet.

Speaker 4 (58:31):
Oh oh my god, that she was so that ship
was hilarious.

Speaker 1 (58:38):
Know, the Planeteers is a good one. I really like
that one.

Speaker 4 (58:41):
And you damn I had another one after you said that,
and then I forgot it.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
Oh super Friends okay.

Speaker 4 (58:48):
Yeah, you know the original because I don't need to
like Justice League Unlimited drama.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
I just need, you know, super Friends. But it was
just relaxing.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
I'm sure there's an anime I would want to join, like, well,
all of a kind of dangerous to I don't even know,
like the once I like the most are the most
dangerous worlds, like j J K.

Speaker 3 (59:08):
And like that like sol level something.

Speaker 4 (59:12):
D F is the the name of the Robotech Defense
Force and no, I might be.

Speaker 3 (59:19):
A Gunna pilot And I was like, no, I don't
want to be a pilot.

Speaker 1 (59:23):
Actually, growing up, I wanted to be a Veritech pilot.

Speaker 4 (59:27):
But them niggas die constantly in robotep No, uh huh.

Speaker 2 (59:32):
No, I used to want to be a sailor scout.
I think a lot of people from sailing moon stuff.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
It's like, never used to want to be a power Ranger.

Speaker 1 (59:41):
Nothing you want to be I.

Speaker 4 (59:43):
Mean no, not really, you know. I mean I was
you know, I was there for when power Rangers came out. Now,
I mean, I guess they always win, you know. It's
like being part of Fultron, you know guns. Yeah, and
it's like I would I'd be down for Fultron or
a power Ranger, but they always come up on top,
you know what I mean. So that's cool, Like like

(01:00:04):
the ship I grew up on. This depressing like X Men. No,
it's just strust.

Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
You don't want to be X Men.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
No, not for the most part, because like you want
to be on Magneto's No, I.

Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
Don't want to be a mutant.

Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
You know in general, like this ship is like it's
too unpredictable, like you know, like you can have storm,
which is cool, but you know then like the weather
also reacts to your emotions, which is you know, that's
that's a lot like cyclops you know, terrible you know
Magneto there you go, that's you know, there's there's a
few terrible yeah, terrible power like the worst Like no,

(01:00:36):
I would never want that Magneto is someone out here
because that's like, you know, that's power and it works
on a lot of levels. So but no, most of men, No,
I do not want to read people's minds now.

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Is a terrible power.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
Terrible, I mean, it's worthless right now, Like and am I.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
Saying what we say terrible We don't mean in terms
of power or anything like that. We means in terms
of like having it as a real life power.

Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
You know, that's just a yeah, like we're that's just
ass ass And then it's worthless right now because all
you can do is knock out the people out and
studd memories that you don't even get powers from people
cause nobody got into the powers. You don'tly want, you know,
it's like no, right now, that's ass. But I guess
if you joined the group. Yeah, well yeah, no, No,

(01:01:21):
I'm not trading fucking for being powerful. No, I don't
care how powerful rogue is. Now I woulout want to
join the h min's rogue if I had to trade
for power, I could.

Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
That are ending right there, like that's hilarious yo.
