Mm mmmm, welcome back. How you doing tonight? I'm not bad.
I'm tired.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Just got back from visiting friends in Toronto for their birthday,
so I'm happy I got to spend time with them.
Haven't seen them in a long time, so I'm just
happy that I got there. But you know, of course
you suffer when it comes to, you know, lack of sleep.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
So here I am. Did you catch up with Drizzy
while you're up there?
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Absolutely not not No love didn't stop by the mansion.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Mm hmmm. I don't know if I'm would be a
welcome there. I don't think I'm the tight So.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Is it a age limit type thing?
Speaker 1 (01:37):
You think? I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
You said it, not me, I ain't. I'm just saying,
you know, I didn't. I didn't say what that age
limit was. You know, you know you might be too
young for the man.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Listen, I'm not going there to that conversation he did.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
He did the Jennifer Lopez allegedly.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I'm saying out of it, I'm not anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
I am here for the mess, folks. It's for all nerds.
Show it's your boy been. I mean, I'm feeling pretty
good tonight.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Man.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
I can't lie. I like super cleaned up my little
studio that you see right here. I know you can't
y'all out there cannot see the difference at all, But
it made a major difference in my life. I feel
like the Limitless Pill, like you know, and that's something
that people don't know for real.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
People don't remember that about the movie Limitless.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Like when he first takes the pill, you know, the
very first thing he does after that is cleans shit
up and you know there's a jewel in that right there,
because it really tells you that, you know, when you
had that clean space around you, that's how your thoughts work,
you know, your mind where it's like, you know, just having.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Clean, good energy really helps a lot.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
So whenever I'm like about to get busy on something,
that's what I do, and like, so I really rearrange everything.
I got my controller that you can't see right below here,
but I also rehooked my turntables up back over here
because I haven't been messing with them. I had a
lot of jump covering them for the longest and like
that's the worst. So now I got my turntables up.
(03:05):
You might have caught me on Twitch dot tv Slash
for All Nerds at the night. I was on my
controller the other night. But I'm about to get back
on the turntables real soon. I've been playing a lot
of vinyl on them, joints and everything, bringing them back
to the essence and all that. So I'm gonna do
some live sets on there. I got a bunch of
forty five I want to go through. So Twitch dot
(03:25):
tv Slash for All Nerds. If you're not following make
sure you're following already, because yeah, I'm gonna be doing
a lot more on there. In fact, we'll be too
late by the time you hear this. But what's the
night Tuesday?
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Right?
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Yeah, Every Tuesday night at nine to thirty pm, Luna
and I will be live on twitch dot tv slash
for all nerds playing different games. Right now, we're doing
a run through a Balder's Gate three, you know, the classic,
and it's it's been great so far, highly entertaining, if
I do say so myself.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
No, it's definitely funny.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
It'll be cool, like if you ever get a VR
headset that you do some of the VR videos with
him because it's VR videos or hilarious.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
The OV your pub race are broke down mid Rice.
The PlayStation VR is so no, I'm talking about Oculus,
not that ESVR doesn't exist.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Abandon that joint, And the sad thing is it had
some fire Like Jedi Starfighter VR.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Was incredible, but it was silly.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I got to run that a couple of times and
that almost made me drop the coin on that joint
until they abandoned it. And then I, you know, abandoned
that idea along with it.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You can still get it.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
There's a there's an indie version of it in the
I'm sure in that library. Like the types of games
that Luna finds that they're not huge publishers, are just
people who just been on there and like are just
utilizing what they can with the with the device and
the hardware, and that shit works and that's sh It's hilarious.
Like I said, like, you really got it. You gotta
(05:01):
get on it with him if you do, if.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
You get that, yeah, But for now we live on there, Twitch,
I TV slash for all nerves, you know, hit us
up in the comments all that good stuff, say what up?
Oh man, I'm still not so much homecoming. You know,
I was thinking about homecoming.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I think if y'all.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Follow us on the socials, you saw the video where
I posted where my brother young Grew was pretty much
berating me about how Jonathan Hitman is the greatest X
Men writer of all time and also doing his best
to big up Jimmy Hendrick's Purple Hayes, which you know,
was really an amazing moment for me.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
So thank you very much for that.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Groo my boy, my brother, and you know, I pretty
much agree with him that Hitman is the man.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
You see.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
How see how difficult that was for you to say it?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Right?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
I couldn't even get it.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Out of my mouth.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Hey, yo, I mean, it's just there's so many great writers.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
But you know, like you was saying in the video,
it's not just you know, when you're saying that someone's best,
it's not like you're saying that these other people aren't
great or also aren't the best.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
It's just you know, hit Min is the one.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
I don't know, I ain't all that, you know what
I mean. I'm gonna let that one go. There's definitely
a great distression mater repeat that on our channels and
all that good stuff.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Have you picked up on a witcher yet? Have you
started watching that?
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Nah kind of like on the side and.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
You know, like, you know, the moments that I've caught
made me like, nah, I'm good.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Ain't no way man. That shit looked like c w
at best man.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
That looks nothing was the same.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Nothing.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Since we talked about Drake earlier.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Waiting this, it's too late.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
It's I already had that sentiment when it was first revealed,
or when it was first announced or blew up that
my boy wasn't gonna be girled anymore, which is crazy
because he is Gerald. He doesn't you know, he doesn't
an act like GARYLD. He is GARYLD and too. You know,
(07:06):
there's certain shows and stories where you can interchange the
actor all the time and you could pretty much be okay,
Like we've seen that Batman right. A million people could
be Batman right, and there's a certain approach and maybe
gravitas that you might need, depending on the tone of
the show of the movie in this case, in the
(07:27):
case of Batman example, But at the end of the day,
it could generally be anybody right, and you'll have your
favorites or whatnot. When it comes to the Witcher, Henry
cavill or nothing, Henry cavill Or Reriot because Liam Hensworth
blessed his soul.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
He's doing the best he can with what he got.
That ain't it. That ain't it?
Speaker 2 (07:50):
And I think I also think the hairstylist went with
Henry because that wig ain't even the same. No, no,
it's not it's not he's right, it's not sitting, it's
it's not right.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
This is that's not right.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
Everything you said is true, but nothing can compare to
the wig work that is done on my man. Laurence
Fishburn on the latest season.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Oh my god, Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Let me just say I thought that was weird that
they brought Laurence. Not because clearly it's Laurence Fishburn. It's like, oh,
he's a legend. But it's like, I Laurence Fishburn in
that setting again, not I don't want to box him in.
I'm not saying he can't be in the whole ren
Fair setting. I'm not saying that. I'm saying that's not
exactly his ministry.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
But it could be.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
I'm saying, Honous, it's.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Weird because of Lim and it makes it and it
makes the inclusion of him seem weirder, like, damn, we
need to put a band aid on this.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Let's throw in Morpheus.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Is straight up, that's what it is.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
That's what it feels like. And I don't like that.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
And also, like I read one review and they said
it best it's not just uh Liam, right, Damn, I
have to.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Look series series acting funny.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
It's not just Liam, it's just the whole show.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
It's definitely the budget, like it never had that big
a budget in the first place, but.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Look good that always look good to me.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Yeah, they weren't bad.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Okay, don't let's me act like this was like a
third grade experiment.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
But like I say, it's it is approaching c W levels.
And to me it was always like I watched the
first season and I was never.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Like, ooh, you know remember that scene in the Witcher.
There was none of that. It was just like the
Witcher happened.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yeah, that was I fucked heavy with the Witcher, which
is why I wanted to talk about it.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
I'm heavy with you, fucked heavy with Henry Carell. Let's
keep it real both.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
And now with his departure, I tried, and I don't
want it because just.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Like me, I'll watched pretty much anything that man is in.
Even though I keep man, I keep hearing on the loaded.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
It's something that Bud I'm sure and I I love Henry,
but I'm not gonna watch just anything he's like. I'm
not that much of a stand like I really have
to care about the subject.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
I watched most of the things like him, but I'm
just also hearing that personally, he's just you know that
boy ain't right.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
I'm like John Snow, I don't want it when it
comes to Liam as GARYL and I.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Like, and I want to.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
I want to And I tried because and I still
will continue to try. I barely got through the first episode,
to be quite honest with you, Yeah, I mean, well, no,
that's not true.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I got through the first episode. I'm on a second.
I barely got through the second.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
And that's just because I just kept staring like, that's
not that, nigga, Like I just my like the suspension
of what belief.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
I guess you're supposed to have like that.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
He it's the same, you know how they switch out
the cav you know, aunt skin a light skin onf
VIV versus.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Dark skin on VIV.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Like, oh, I stopped watching him.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
It was it's a very jarring change.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
And it's like and then nobody and then of course
understandably nobody is commenting on it.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
They shouldn't want anybody talk about characters. But then also they.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Try to like play me in my face and retcon
this series, like they took like old clips and used
all the one with Henry with his back turn or
his face to the side, and then had Liam redo
a fucking battle in one other scene, like like he
was there the whole time, like, no, nigga, don't try
to play me. That's not that's not him. So all
(11:24):
that to say, I know I'm not the only one
feeling this way. I'm really trying to give Liam a
chance because because to his credit, he is he is.
He ain't doing a bad job. It's just not connecting
with you, bro, I'm not so I don't. I don't
know where this is going. I don't know when if
it's going with this, I need them to wrap it
up at this point.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
I mean they are one season in this cancel.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
No wrap it up now. I know it's too late, but.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Once once Henry said, nah, y'all should have realized the
gravy chain was over.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
For them.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
And what's interesting is when, because if you go back
to when this whole thing first blew up that he
was leaving, it was about creative differences with the with
the development team, right with the screenwriters and all this
other stuff, and you know, he and and I didn't
realize just how badly he disagreed with them until I
saw this season and then I was like, or this
first few episodes, I'm just like, damn, I'm starting to
(12:19):
understand why he was like, hell no, and from what
I'm seeing in the progression of the story, just like
looking at online notes stuff, I'm just like, this is
not this is not the story that I want to
hear or see of Garyl. And again the choices, that dialogue,
choices that that Garyl would not fucking well Henry's Garrel
would not fucking do.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
I don't, I don't know. I don't think it's it's
not me, it's not it's not for me.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I think it's just more, you know, wrap it up.
I think it's more Henry Cabilla not being there because,
like I said, the show has always been mit I
think Henry to.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
You who you not to me?
Speaker 2 (12:54):
And not if everyone who fucking floated this show for
all these fucking years. Otherwise this wouldn't even be talking
about the.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
The third season and people barely you know, it's all
Netflix years. That's forever.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
And you know that Netflix four seasons of Netflix gives
zero ships and will cancel ship that's.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Popular as fuck.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
They're like, oh, y'all have three billion viewers, bet not enough,
pull the plug like nephis don't give a damn, so
like come on, man, come on. But anyway, that's how
I feel about the Witch.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
That's a blow in review.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
He trying trying his best, but god damn not that
it's the wig. Anyway. What else you watching? Ben? A lot?
Speaker 3 (13:45):
I watched Welcome to Darry. I'm not sure if I'm
going to continue.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
I got Oh you were so hype about it last week.
You were talking about how it was funny. When I
say hype that you you it was funny and you
were like, oh, this is so silly.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
I gotta be on it yea, and yeah, oh yeah.
When if you baby was eating people, that was that
was definitely worth my time.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
When you said that, I was like, I'm out.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
But baby has not been eating people lately. Not enough
kids have been getting eight since the first episode. I
think one of them kids might have survived, and they're
dragging that mystery out way too long.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
You know.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
It's like, let them let me know if the kid
made it or not.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
And in general, like again, I read another review that
echoed my same thoughts that it just is not scary.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Is it supposed to be?
Speaker 3 (14:31):
I would think so, you know.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Like it was never scary to me. It is funny
harder to me.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Yeah, Well, maybe that's what they're trying to do here,
and it is slightly funny hard.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Like if you have if you have clown phobia, then yes,
this is probably terrifying at all.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Anglish Yeah, no, I.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Like I told you all, when I watched the recent movies,
I was cracking up. I don't know. I might give
it another episode at some point, but right.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Now it's so why not. I still haven't understood why not? Why?
Why are was that?
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Now?
Speaker 1 (15:04):
You want eight? And said, hellma, like.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
You're not really It's just one of the things, like.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
One okay, you know what I'm saying, One of those
things where this show is just not that good and
life is short, you know.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
That is like one of my rules in life, like I'm.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
The baby with the baby eating monsters were fine.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Yeah, that was fine, But after a while, I'm not
going to power through something when it's mid okay, you know,
and it ain't like it has some really good performances.
There's like parts of the show that I really like,
but just overall, it's like, is this really worth my time?
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Like I just did that this year. I powered through
Alien Earth? Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Oof. Bad not even bad as much as just like
terrible in some way. Wait, wait, wait, wait, what's the wait.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
It's not bad, but it's terrible, which in my head
is objectively worse.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
But wait a minute.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Alien Earth was like good and terrible.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
The it's kind of the same thing that's happening on
it where it's so utterly ridiculous, you know, just like
the military trying to use it against the comedies on
Alien Earth. When a spaceship full of alien specimens crashes
on Earth, the billionaire tech genius sends in a bunch
(16:30):
of synthesoids to you know, find out what happened under crash,
which sounds reasonable, except the sentenzoids all have the brains
of children.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
So comedy ensues, right, comedy and foolishness.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
And suits on every level. And it's one of those
things like I'm not sure.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
I guess they're just saying that billionaire tech geniuses that
we some people adore in our own reality might not
be as smart as they say they are.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Duh dub.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
I'm a homeboy said that he was gonna save them
niggas that was in a submersible man that didn't work out,
none of his planned He was gonna save the the
cave divers or miners that were stuck in the cave.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
For that, like it was I think that manes flying
cars at one point, so you know, things just have
not really worked out that well for him. But anyway, yeah,
so it's the same type of thing on Alien Earth.
But despite the utter foolishness and the comedy that it
did ensue, It's like, was it really worth it to
have to suffer through those eight episodes of Alien Earth?
(17:35):
Because it just was not that good?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
You know, I'm sorry, here's the question, how to get
through to eight? Why did you just stop at like
two and a half because.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
There was something like, just like with Welcome to Darry
there are certain characters who are absolutely killing it.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Right.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
There's this cybory By, this black dude who is so dope,
and he has this rivalry with this sense who's looks
like the David Bowie, I mean, not David Bowie, was
my man Rugger Howard, who was in the original Blade Runner.
Like he's that version of sent you know, the spiky,
blonde hair, white dude and him and this black guy
have this rivalry and whenever they're on screen it is
(18:16):
so worth it. It's just the rest of the show
around and I'll welcome to Darry. They have a character
who is playing mister Struthers, I think that's his name.
He's the he appears in The Shining. He's the older
black man in The Shining who has the Shining, who
has to tell about the powers. So this is his
(18:38):
younger version and he's working with the military to find it.
And the after playing him is fucking phenomenal. So every
time he's on screen, it's so worth it. But again,
it's the rest of the show. That's all I can
say about that. I watched a couple of movies this weekend.
Was okay, real quick. I made a video about this.
(19:00):
But I want to give a bit shout out to
something that I really love.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Is this movie Good News. It's on Netflix right now.
Oh my god, y'all.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
Like it's a Korean satire, dark comedy. It blends a
whole lot of genres. It simply put one of the
most imaginative films that I've seen in recent years. It's
about the hijacking of a plane in Korea and a
response to it. It's based on a true story, and
(19:30):
it's based on the and about the military's response to
the hijacking. It's just as satire about a lot of
things that are very very relevant to our society today,
is what I'll say, Mmm, yes, extremely I in fact,
as I was distressing a film that I don't like
to even name at this point, when I was distressing
(19:50):
it on threads, but I'll name it here because you
know we have well we have some of those fans.
But one bad out another, I would say that this
is the type of sat tired of one better after another,
wish as it was so good News on Netflix, like
I say, simply put, one of the most imaginative films
I've seen in a long time, and definitely one of
(20:13):
my films of the year easily, like it's up there,
like it's just been bad Man now last few five years.
It's pretty much every year it's some foreign film to
me that is taking the cake, like right now, Centers
is still my film of the year. But Good News
right up there nets with it, you know, right up there,
(20:34):
because it's like seeing a movie where I'm like, oh, like,
like I said, right at a pause of like that,
wait what am I watching?
Speaker 1 (20:41):
You know?
Speaker 4 (20:42):
Hold up, we were just I was just in a
room full of military bureaucracts and now I'm watching a
western what just happened?
Speaker 1 (20:49):
You know?
Speaker 4 (20:50):
And then it all made sense when I rewounded, and
you know, I'm like, oh, oh, okay, you know different, Okay, okay,
and then it goes from there.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yeah, all right, that sounds relative relevant to my interest.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Yeah, you've got to, Like.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
I tell you, when I like when I bring up
movies like are are Athena Good News? I'm putting this
in that same category of foreign films that are blue Giant,
you know, damn it, all of them on Netflix. All
those movies I just listened Athenolix, Blue Giant, Good News,
all on Netflix. For the greatest films you ever see,
(21:26):
I can say that, hands down.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Yeah, and I considering I've seen all of them, with
exception the Good News, I have to agree with you.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
And you saw a blue Giant.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
No excuse me, I haven't seen Blue Giant.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Go watch that as soon as you can, man for real.
That like, if you need some inspiration in your life,
if anyone needs some inspiration in your life, go watch
Blue Giant as soon as you can. It's just one
of the most inspiring, one of the most beautiful films.
It'll make you feel so good about life, about being
a creative, about living your dreams, about everything. Man, Blue
Giant is one of them films I put on whenever
(22:00):
I need to feel good. You know, I played the
soundtrack constantly. Fucking hell, it's one of the greatest movies
I've ever seen on the.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Inside of the spectrum. Have you at all been catching
up with gen V?
Speaker 4 (22:13):
Nah? Man, I all you see how my paws right there?
That was just like, what the fuck is Genv? In
my head even a while. Yeah, I gave up on
The Boys, and like I've said many a time on
the show, if read every single issue of The Boys,
poking all the spinoffs that ever existance, So I'm good
on that whole universe.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Okay, Well, I did finish this season, and I would
say this season was better than last season. I don't
know how much longer they got to go on this
in terms of popularity, Like it could just remain extremely
popular because now they're going into Marie's Like I guess
as as the readers and and the purest say that
(22:54):
her real pure, her true power is it. But you
know it's gonna jump the sharks. It's it's you know,
it's at the point now where they're like fully.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Merging the Boys universe and stuff.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
So you know, they've always been hinting at it over
the years, and now it's like now it's like there.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
So, like I said, it's it made. It may got
one more year in it, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, they can't afford those actors.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Oh all of them?
Speaker 2 (23:19):
No, And that's another reason you don't see all of
them in every episode, right, You only see one of
them at a time typically, and then for like a
very short period of time.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
So I don't know, because there's a rare spinoff where
you see them, you know, people from the original show.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Pop up, and then typically when you if you do
like the cheat that they use is like using like
if it's a video from like the person's like being
like on a news footage.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Or something like that, they'll use that and be like, oh,
look it's an in story news.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Right.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
So but no, I I you know, like I said,
I think it was better this season. I do like
that they've you know, leveled up, Marie.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
They leveled up, like they've gone more into like the
complications of and you know how they liked because these
are the young kids right, the complications of life and
the complications of relationships, and relationship as a soup, and
you know the horrorsm manipulation and this is that. And
the third I'm not going to give it away for
people who are still interested in watching it, but it's
(24:21):
it's it's better than what it has been. I will say,
I don't like you. And even though not unlike you,
I have not read all the books and all this
other stuff, but like you, I've got to a point
where I'm may be at my limit with the level
of the violence shown and and the just nastiness.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
It's just nasty. There's a scene where there's a man.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
I'm gonna say it, and I'm going to keep it
as you No, I'm saying it because if I have
experience that you guys are going to experience. There's a
man and again vague on purpose, but there's a man
where they show him going to the bathroom and you
know how graphic both gen V and the boys are
and from the time he pulls down and pans of
the time he sits on the toilet, you see everything,
(25:11):
and I mean everything anatomically. And at that point I
was like why why? And I understand what the gen
vs and stuff. It's just like, why not because we
fucking can, but why why why? Like I just and
maybe also after seeing the Long Walk, I was just like,
(25:32):
I can't see this ship, no bore, Like I just
my my capacity the stomach that ship. It's it's well
past this limit. And I realized I don't know how
much more I got the.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Stomach that ship. Literally, yeah, it's it's it's doing too
much for me. So that's gen v.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
But but I'm caught up, y'all, y'all want to talk
about it, Let's talk about it.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Chainsaw a Man that I've been watching that and all
these and that's another thing is always cool to have a.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Watch, buddy, Right, So I watched these with my husband.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
So Chainsaw a Man very very one of the most
out there animes. But shit, it is fucking hilarious. It's
fucking well done.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
It's smart.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Yeah, I had mentioned before I saw the movie resi
ARC a couple of weeks back, and that's with the
Bomb Devil.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
And I don't know if you've caught up.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
I mean, I know you started watching it at some point, Ben,
but I don't know if you followed through.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Yeah, you got it. It's it's just different.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
And yes, there's it's an anime at the same at
the end of the day, and yes there's tropes that
every almost damn near every anime has, but it.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Also goes a level beyond, and I like how it's
good stories.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
They're slowly pulling back the layers of like a lot
of the mains so so like the ones where you're like,
this person is op and I don't understand why they're
so op, and they're slowly giving you the bread comes
to be like this is what this person is, this
is what you think this person is, and they start
changing your mind and changing.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Your thoughts and what you thought it was wasn't.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
And I'm really appreciating that a lot when it comes
to Chainsaw Man, like they it's a lot of discovery,
and I think that's why I like the show so much.
It's a lot of discovery in terms of who these
characters really and where they're coming from and why do
they move the way they do.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Literally and figuratively like that shit as well.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yeah, when you.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Meet them, I mean from the first season, it's like
Chainsaw Man meets everybody and they're like fully developed. You know,
they've already had lives and everything before he comes to
the So that is interesting.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
That, I mean, he's thirteen things.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Do you know that he's thirteen or sixteen something shit
like that, He's he's young as fuck, which which bothers
me when they when they introduce like sexual elements that I.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Mean, sixteen is still young. But I remember, like, because
isn't he flirting with the demon?
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yes, and everybody's older than him, and she's a nutcase
to say the least, everybody.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
He's older than him, And like that's the one thing
I do not and I will continue to say that
I do not like about this show.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Like it's a little it's get a.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Little bit either way.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
It's like, you know, my man is horifically violent at thirty.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
He's a demon, He's a devil. Like, I mean, he
puchita and that's nothing. I gotta po cheetah. I have
to show you my puchetah that I bought. But like,
that's not even what bothers me. That that's not even
what bothers me. It's it's the idea of these older
women like encroaching on him and he's a child, Like
I don't like it.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Yeah, I can't say that I do either.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
That's quite but see that's also you know, a sad
and disturbing part of a society is how sex bothers
us more than violence.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
It's not so much sex. Sex and not sex don't
bother me.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Underage minor introducing sexual elements bothers.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Me versus introducing horrifically violent elements does not bother I hear, Okay,
that's fair.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yep, that's what I'm saying. But I didn't say it's just.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
This is just I brought up the violence. You were like, yeah, whatever,
you know, let's step back to that pedal.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Shiit As I said, more bother some. This all bother some,
but this is even more bother Someome's but I'm like,
this man is.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Sixteen and be slicing the insight. It's the same thing
going back. Like people were arguing me, and I've seen
not arguing, but we were. I've seen a lot of
distrust because we did our few of Predator bad Lands, right,
and the new Predator bad Lands is PG. Thirteen and
it doesn't include a lot of the traditional there's a
lot of the sense that we were talking about before.
(29:38):
In Alien Earth that go back to Blade Runner and
to every alien movie, and whenever they are dispatched, they have,
as I said on our a few white guts, you know,
spinning up out of them, and there's you don't see
that so much in Predator bad Lands. And so because
of that, people are like, oh, it's Disney fun.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
This is not that violent.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
And honestly, y'all, I mean this is a slight spoiler
to the level of violence. But at one point one
of the hero characters has a knife on the ground,
and this is the character who fa who's been splitting half.
She's a sense, so her legs are operating separately and
she's fighting, you know, another sense. She uses her legs
(30:22):
to force his head into the knife that her hand
is holding up, and she's lying.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
I did not think that's what you were going with that.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I thought you were gonna say she used her legs
to force his head like to herself.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
I thought something wrong was gonna happen. You really did.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
It's a PG thirteen movie, Come on, now, bother me.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
I think she does.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Yeah, I think she does the traditional leadlock, you know,
the black widow all da you know, but that really
like that was there's a scene in Saving Private Ryan
reminiscent of that.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
You know, that was like glory to me.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
You know, to see somebody like trying not to get
stabbed in the head, you know, the dude like trying
and then she thought from him and flis him into
the like yeah, that see that type of stuff is
like to me, it's like, you know, what are we watching?
And I'm someone who grew up on, you know, way
more violent shit than that. But I grew up on
(31:20):
things like that being all rated and I wasn't supposed
to see them pg. Thirteen. Having violence like that is
crazy to me, you know, it's like that's like, well,
that's how they get away the way with it.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
And I realized for me, like when I could just
wave off, at least to a certain level, the violence,
it's when it's particularly when the person is or or
character is made not to be human. Ye like with
with a Homeboy and Chainsaw, Like he's half human half devil, right,
So I'm kind of like whatever, like that's that's just.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
What's in him. That's what he's been doing his whole life. Whatever.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
I'm not But as mentioned what Long Walk, when I
saw that shit. I wanted to jump out of my skin.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
I can deal with it.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Yeah, see I both of them affect me because we
and this is something we distrusted be fore in the show,
going back to The Walking Dead, and that was always
my problem with The Walking Dead is that I felt
they gave it excuse to directors to creators to just
have a million shots of people getting shot of the
faith and the censors won't even.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Because as long as it's a zombie, and as long.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
As it's not red blood. That's the funniest thing. If
you use any other color, you can get away with
a lot. And the zombies always hurt black blood or
bio or whatever. So it's like they they got away
with ridiculous amounts of glory. Headshot people getting their head
chopped off left and right, and that's you know, whether
or not it's a zombie. Subliminally, your brain does not
(32:48):
know the difference your brain sees a human getting their
head chopped off, you know, that's how your brain takes it,
Like this is.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Just actually I don't think it does like zombie. I
don't see it.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
You see that you but your brain it's like what
was I like, it's how people are talking about. This
is a motivational thing, right. Your brain doesn't know the
difference between you having money and you saying I've got money. Okay,
you know, it just doesn't It's like because your brain
(33:22):
can't see the fucking money, you know. But if you
tell yourself I'm a millionaire, your brain's like, oh, I'm
a millionaire.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
You know. It's that type of thing.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
Your brain doesn't see these things like we we see things,
but subliminy things are affecting us.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
And that's something.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
And this goes into a pluribus, which is something I
really I've made two different videos about it and I
got to make another one.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Yeah. I like that. I like the uh the plot
of the story that goes hard.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
There's a lot hard and it brings up a lot
of discussion, but this is one of them, and part
of it is like all right and with just to
get into it, Plurbus is a new show for I
Ben Stilligan, right, and you know, we all know if
it's breaking breaking bad. But I also think he used
to write X files and that's what Clervice is. This
type of show because the concept or plot or logline
(34:13):
of Curvice is basically there's the main character, this woman,
and she's a writer and going about her life writing
trashy romance novels and being pretty successful at it.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
And then one day everyone on Earth receives this.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Comes it comes to an alien RNA that rewrites everyone's
brains and turns everyone into a collective mind except for
her and eleven other people on planet Earth. Out of
billions of people, there are eleven people who are not
part of this pelective mind. That's not acted by this
(34:54):
colective mind. Every other billion people instantly and irvocably at
this point, turns to this protective mind. And when it
happens on the show, it is an instant thing. Everyone
is like, Okay, we're doing this, We're doing that.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
And not just the collective mind, but a very particular
emotion it well, that part is the important. Yeah, I
don't want to get away.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
Well, no you can't, because that's all the theme and everything,
all the trailers. The particular emotion seems.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
To be good. But I say that seems to be
and this is not it will it remains to be seen, right,
And that's the thing.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, what I'm gonna say is the emotion is of happiness.
That everyone's full, everyone's presented.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
As everyone is definitely presented being happy.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
That's an important distinction to make in terms of just
what emotion, because it could be like your collective mind,
everybody's mad as fuck, right, you understand so again and
to your and that, come on, man, we're rady halfway there.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Think about it.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
There's a show coming out that's based on this Trauma
book and it's another comic book that I've read that
I'm like, I hate this book and I hope it
never gets a thing, but it blew the fuck up
and it's standing the show, and it's called Crossed, and
it's about humanity basics, not even turning into zombies. They
all getting a lot of humans start getting infected with
the same way. They have this cross branded apost head,
(36:27):
and they've just become the most horrific evil monster you
can imagine. So it's like what you just said, a
collective mind of just being you know, barbaric. I mean,
I don't even want to talk about.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
You, all right, right, because it's it's frightening.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
But but yeah, so, and yes, the greater questions come
up and this is still early on the story, but
the greater questions come up like.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Is it okay? Is it cool? Like ho is you cool?
If all y'all is happy all the time, but everyone
is is it good? And wild?
Speaker 4 (36:58):
I've already made two videos talking because one like, immediately
as soon as I watched the show, I'm like, oh shit,
because there's so much of this has been for any
sci fi head. This is something that's come up mad
times for any coma book reader. This storyline has been it.
But this is one of the first times I've seen
it where it's like, well, the collective mind won out,
(37:19):
Like for those people who watched the Eternals movie from
the MCU, the Eternals in the Comma book can form together,
and they formed this thing called the Uni Mind, and
it's all in their minds as a collective consciousness, and
they made decisions et cetera whenever they need to use
this telepathic power for whatever they need to, et cetera.
But this is also a thing that came up in
(37:41):
an issue with West Coast Avengers where this alien mind
was trying to take over the Earth and use mutants
because they saw mutants as the next dominant species. And
so they're like, okay, we're gonna make a collective mind
out of the mutant. So they've been residing in humans
and they're like, all right, humans, time is over. Now
it's for mutants. So we're gonna take over all the mutics.
And it didn't work out. So this is like the
(38:03):
first time where it's like, oh it worked out, yeah, yeah,
And so it brings up a lot of things. And
this goes back to what I was saying about violence,
about a lot of things we consumed. And while it's
really important to really pay attention to what you consume. Right,
there's a video going around. People have been retweeting and
reposting and all that type of thing with Saul Williams,
(38:23):
the poet. I think he was at the Breakfast Club
and he was talking about this very same thing, right,
But going back to that collective mind and why it's
so important to watch what you consume, because that's.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
The funny thing.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
People have been comparing Pluribus to chat GPT, right. They've
been like, oh shit, this is like chat GPT because
everybody's using chat GPT and everybody dry a collective mind
because of chat.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Not quite, but I hear, I get the direction you're
going in.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
Yes, Okay, that's not you with them.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
I get, I hear what y'all saying.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
Yeah, but that's and that is a valid reading of plurbs.
But the other there's another level to it, is the
fact that we are before there was ever a chat GPT.
We live in a collective mindset and a part of
that collective mindset is media. The media we all consume
influences our collective mindset because it tells us rules of society.
(39:15):
It makes us obey the rules. It tells us this
is how your life should be. You should grow up,
you should get married, you should have kids, dot dot
dot down line right. Another brilliant film they Live. If
you've never seen it, what's wrong with you? Watch it
as soon as possible, and it lays all this out
(39:36):
in a track.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Media or a comedy.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
Media is powerful, as you seen from a very particular,
you know, well known show called American Gods that Beaman
was a writer on.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
And media in that form is a god a god.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
And I wanted to say, an overpowering essence. And that's
not just like from a literary perspective, from real life.
It's like a freaking religion.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
So it's been overpower in essences.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
I do like that.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
Secondary read of Floribus again, if you just take it
up a step above just chatting to see the idea.
Speaker 4 (40:12):
Because yeah, it's not just media, it's everything. It's religion,
it's all these different things that go about to form society,
and it makes us live in a everyone people live
in a very controlled environment and they move in very
controlled ways, and people can call themselves individuals and all
this stuff, and there's a lot of ego and all
(40:33):
that type of stuff that goes into that that make
you an individual versus that. But we all move very
much in you know, like locked up with friends, with family,
with society. You know, it's very few people who are like, yeah,
fuck out here. You know, I myself to this day,
(40:54):
I don't have children. I really don't see it happening.
And then one of the reasons is because I've always
been like, oh, it's you know, society is you know,
at one point I wanted to have kids, but another
point it was like, oh, society tells me I have
to have kids, And I was like, anything society tells
me I have to do is to me. Another thing
(41:17):
that came up, like this year and me and Tytowna
were just distressing this before the show was unless year
I've really been questioning gender.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
I've just I had an experience this year.
Speaker 4 (41:28):
Where I'm like, okay, And throughout my life, I've always
been a very i want to say queer leading, but
just very you know things. I just I like to
look at things, you know, and examer things. And I
grew up on people like Prince, Michael Jackson, Rit James
who just you know, David Bowie, Elton John and I
(41:51):
grew up on a lot of very strong women, you know,
as people I adored, like my mother, like Sigourney Weaver,
you know, Linda Hamilton, and films were the type of thing.
So I always grew up like masculinity and feminity were
very fluid, and you know, it didn't really make as
much sense to me.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
But then society.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
Definitely turned me into the type of ah, this is machuline,
it isn't feminine. For a while, you know, I'm definitely
on that vibe. You know, I was the mass man,
you know, because of just society. But as a kid,
I remember like Prince was like, you know God, I
mean to this day, to me, Princess God, so why
would I ever, you know, think that a man has
to be masculine to be a man, you know, or
(42:35):
a woman has to be feminine to be a woman, right.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
Or a person has to be anything.
Speaker 4 (42:40):
Yeah, something I've always believed, Like Yoda says, we are
just spiritual beings.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
You know, we are energy in this physical form. But
we are energy.
Speaker 4 (42:50):
We are not this you know, trash that we're trapped in. Basically,
So why would I consider myself what this body is?
Speaker 2 (43:00):
And there are a lot of people, there are a
lot of people who do think like that, but at
least outwardly, you wouldn't know that. And that unique perspective,
just to bring it back to Plorivius, that unique perspective
is why they chose you said, eleven people at this.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
Point, Why eleven out of billions don't feel.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
The effects of this. I think it's a virus or
whatever it is that actually did this to them. But
that did this to the world, I would say. And
then it's kind of like, how do you negotiate that
world right when you're very much on the outside looking in.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
But also it's just like, well, and that's another thing.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Are you on the outside or they on the outside
like these people who is under the influence of this virus?
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Right, like which one is it at that point?
Speaker 2 (43:44):
Kind of, And it's similar to all this stuff you're saying,
because when you fall outside the realms of social norms,
of societyal normals, things like that, you start feeling like,
wait a minute.
Speaker 1 (43:55):
It's one of two ways.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
It's either you feel like I don't belong, you feel lonely,
or you feel like, y'all, I'm gonna do what I
want to do.
Speaker 1 (44:01):
And it takes a lot of courage. It takes a
lot of this. It takes a lot of that. It
also takes.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
Knowing that you're not going to be killed at any
moment too, for having that difference, and sometimes you do
it anyway because you're that fucking courageous. So as we
know through several we know this in many different ways,
right when it talks about who you are, how you
present in this world, how you move, and this, like
there are some things that you cannot change that are
(44:27):
intrinsic to you as a person that you are threatened
by like people are for whatever reason are threatened by it.
And then you become a target and again, like they
it's simplified in this pluribus you know plot that we
just explained, but it makes you think about all these
(44:48):
greater aspects like this m h.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
Because like one of the characters, you know, when confronted
with oh, no, we need to fix this, he's like,
why there's no murder, there's no robbery, there's nobody thinking
about color of my skin anymore.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
Right, And it's like, well, you make a compelling argument.
Speaker 4 (45:09):
And it's funny because, like I said, when you go
back to coma books, there's a lot of what if
from Marvel, right Marvel, you know, people know the show,
but what If was a long running coma book, and
a lot of those stories would always end either really.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
Tragically or really weirdly, and a lot of them with especially.
Speaker 4 (45:27):
When they evolve mutants or when they evolved superpowers at all,
it always involve humans evolving, and humans evolving would eventually
evolve into a collective mind.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
You know.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
Even in pop in a society, there's this idea of
the Age of Aquarius, which you know, I think I'm
not sure exactly when it first came to popularity, but
I know in the nineteen sixties and seventies there was
a lot of people talking about it, and the idea
is that we're moving from the Age of whatever into
the Age of Aquarius, and the Age of Aquarius would
(45:59):
be an enlightened time where again a collective mindset, and
it would be a collective mindset of peace and goodwill
that would allow.
Speaker 3 (46:09):
Humanity to get over the issues it has right now.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
But at what cost? You know, it is the question.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
But is that the cost or is that the solution?
And these are all questions that this show brings up,
and that's why I'm really thoroughly enjoying it. Like I said,
I've keeped the first two episodes on Apple TV. Right
now it's fire, I'm gonna drop to of these other
videos that are you know, asking a lot of these questions.
Like one of the videos I'm talking about is how
(46:40):
does exactly work? Who is exactly making decisions?
Speaker 1 (46:45):
You know?
Speaker 4 (46:45):
That's the thing is billions of people in a collective
mind and you see when they're asked questions are when
they need to make a decision, there seems to be
a pause of thinking or collaborating.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
Like buffering. Yeah, then the answer comes out, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:01):
But how the fuck you buffer a billion minds? You know,
billions of minds, not a you know billions.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
So that was one question and then it's like, go
with that questions, that's why I start thinking about the
whole good thing. And it's like, hmm where I start
because one of the questions leads to Okay, who made decisions?
And this is all revealed in the very first or
second episode the most but the collective mindset is now vegetarian.
(47:31):
And you know, myself, being a you know, semi pesgetarian
whatever i'm you know, that's good for humanity, et cetera. Yes,
but who made that decision? Because the majority of people
on Earth right now are not. So it's because their
mindset gets elevated, you know, where it's like, oh no,
now we're vegetarians, and everybody, everybody there, you know who's
(47:52):
in the collective mind is like, yes, we're all vegetarians.
Now that seems right, Well that's the case then, you know,
but then the next one is and that okay, that
goes back to programming. That's what I said, there is
that's programming, right, That's like that feels like somebody you know,
because again this was sent out this is an alien.
(48:14):
I guess it's RNA bat that's are what they said
is rewritten, but it was sent out as a message
as a radio wave that we intercepted and then we
constructed the RNA on Earth.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
You know, idiots, what's going on out there? Well fuck it?
Speaker 2 (48:36):
No, Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to watching Employer this.
I I again the premise was fired to me and
have to see how it's breaking down now, and like
hearing how you are reacting to the first couple episodes, like,
I'm definitely on that. Speaking of the Apple TV, yes,
I am late behind everybody. I don't care, do not
(48:57):
talk to me about it. I started watching them more
show What season are you on? Started watching The Morning
Show as an episode seven of season one?
Speaker 3 (49:12):
That's what it's still like fantastic.
Speaker 1 (49:15):
So well it's fucking fantastic.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
Steve carell Is, I did not realize how much I
would dislike like the man, like just like.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
It. And again, I know I'm behind, guys, so leave
me alone.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
But like this elevated for me and elevated him as
an actor too, Like, yes, this wasn't the first time
he's done something more.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
Dramatic or anything like that. It's just to really see
that and.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
See him play someone who's very extremely complicated and also
just like highly questionable too.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
And at the end of the day, I personally like
see Corel.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
So and and of course separating the character from the actor,
but it's just like it's just nice to see that
range and reach.
Speaker 1 (49:58):
This will always be my girl. So whatever she whatever
she and I know she's gonna be doing good.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
Jennifer Anderson, that's, you know, another one where it's just
like she's she's not playing the person that everybody likes
right like she she's playing kind of the whacked out
character a little bit. And just to see the ensemble
of people and of course all the black women in
the show, google about the raw last time, a lot
of people we were talking about.
Speaker 1 (50:24):
Her maybe from Loki, you know, because Renflair.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
So yeah, and then I know, like there's way more
to come and and and other amazing things happening and
the past expands.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
Let me say this for you.
Speaker 4 (50:39):
Please spoilers anyone, please, y'all, like, please don't hitman like
Karen is a man like, Yeah, there's so much to
come and.
Speaker 1 (50:55):
Yeah, well I'm I'm freaking loving it.
Speaker 4 (50:59):
So far behind and there's like so much major ship
so like, please, no spoilers.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
I don't look up stuff about it. So yeah, so
everyone so far behind everyone looking at now that.
Speaker 4 (51:12):
You brought it up, like you know, our fans, just
please y'all keep it quiet, keep me quiet because I'm
caught up.
Speaker 1 (51:18):
So I know everything, you know.
Speaker 4 (51:19):
But I'm like, it's it's like wild even hear about
season one right now, you know, because it's like this
show is in such a different place now that it's
like and but I think we're on season four, but
like season three was like where I was like, damn,
this show was turning ass.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
No, honestly, like I had to.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
Struggle through the last season whatever it was, whatever season was,
the last one, I had to struggle through. Parts of
this is you know, the Shark is not as it
was like that. You know, you saw that shark and
you saw them, you know, and they're like, we're going
over this bitch, and then and then I don't know,
(52:00):
it was like, I honestly was not even gonna watch four,
and then you know, my partner was and they started
watching it and quickly, yeah, you know, they're like now
it's dope. So I'm like, fuck it, let me go
in and man, they you know they I don't know
the shark got shot. You know, they jumped over that
boat and shot the shark something. You know, they landed safely.
Because it's back on track like four. It's like back
(52:22):
where I'm like, oh, I can't wait episode show you.
They're like, wooh we're back.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
You know, so okay, cool cool.
Speaker 2 (52:28):
And and also and this is on Hulu, but I've
been on reasonable doubt. That's my fucking Oh yeah, that's great.
Speaker 1 (52:34):
Yeah, I love it. And they got picked up for
what are the season three?
Speaker 2 (52:37):
Now? They got picked up for another season. They just
announced it and I'm like, ride that to the wheels,
fall the fuck off?
Speaker 1 (52:43):
Please?
Speaker 3 (52:43):
Power with Lawyers does I'll say it to get it again.
Speaker 1 (52:46):
It's powerful fine and I don't care. I fucking love every.
Speaker 3 (52:49):
Moment powers winning formula.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
This is another one where I feel like this season
is better than the last season.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Have somebody of sex every fifteen minutes to play hip
hop music.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
First of all, not any the best sound tracked in
the game this show, but every song I guess too
on the nose too.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (53:07):
They O D O D on the on the nose selections,
but budget but the fact that they can get and
I feel like.
Speaker 1 (53:15):
My fail Sadik is one of the music or or
or the music.
Speaker 2 (53:22):
Their budget is dumb well budget, but also connections, right,
So that's my fail.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
I think he's included in that. But anyway that the music,
I don't Again, whether it's too on the nose is
one thing, but they have to Beyonce. In one of
the episodes, I was like, what, how funny did you like?
For like ten seconds of it?
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Like no, every like fire song is in that fucking show,
and I'm like, how did y'all do this?
Speaker 1 (53:49):
But anyway that that is, I know that it's it
is like it's it's it's.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
Your stories, you know, like you say, oh, I got
to watch my stories like it's one hundred percent story
worries in terms of foolishness drama as you say, Tyler Perry,
there's some Tyler Perry has stuff in there. There's some
power esque stuff in there, yes, and not like violence,
like not like we're talking about the boys.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
We're talking about like like you know, psychological violence. Shove.
It's so good, and it's black. It's black, the cast black.
Speaker 2 (54:28):
The I think most of the crew, writers and everyone
included black. They say nigga on the show, like, and
they use it effectively, not just saying it for fucking
shock value.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
It's like that character really would just say that in
that moment because that works.
Speaker 2 (54:46):
That's the word to be said or that's the thing
to be done in that moment, as this black character
in that situation.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
So I fuck with it heavy. I like reasonable dell
a lot, and I've been on it.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Of a morning show up day. I didn't.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
I literally, first of all, I just got Apple TV
and it's not even mine. I'm on somebody else's luggin.
But I yeah, I don't. I wasn't gonna pay for
a fiftieth streaming service.
Speaker 1 (55:13):
So no, But I say, wait, you're not all upon severance. Yeah,
I'm up on sever Okay, I've been caught up the severance.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
But that was a month ago. Like I literally just
started the morning show like a week ago.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
Have you watched the Studio?
Speaker 1 (55:30):
No? Oh, okay, you should like. I watched it.
Speaker 4 (55:33):
I binged it because I got the screeners, and so
when I first watched it, I was like, Okay, this's great,
it's good. And then it came out and it started
getting all these Awards, and I'm like, was it that good?
So I went and we watched it in the air.
That fucking good in the story. You know, it's just
in the story, it's that fucking good. It's it's just
an incredibly done show. You know, shout out torself man
(55:55):
like he did that. You know, the way the long
shots alone, how many long shots are in that show
and then the humor, the comedy, just the inner workings
of Hollywood. And it's really true to a lot of
how it goes down, and it's just a great show. Like,
it's a really good show. I really love the studio.
I can't wait for season two of that.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
Yeah, we talked mostly about TV this episode, but you know,
before we leave, I definitely wanted to hit up just
some on the movie front for sure, Toy Story five,
trailer jobs, and I don't know if you still care
about Toy Story, but I do.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
Oh, I four four was like four brought it back.
I didn't think four was necessary, but I thought four
was fired.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
Yeah, and you know what the premises of story five, right,
I've heard, but I don't know, remind me. It's basically
the attack of the tablet. So you know how kids.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
Decade or so, got real quote unquote real toys, right,
you know, as you say, woody buzz, you know, dolls, blocks,
shit like that. Then now all of a sudden, like
you see kids in kuimon like kids having tablets, right,
and then what happens when the tablet takes over?
Speaker 3 (57:04):
Right?
Speaker 2 (57:04):
So the trailer is literally like the toys are like
they're like delivery comes and the toys woodying them all
know that it's a new toy, but they don't know
what it is. So they're all like gathered around it, shaking,
shivering out of fear, and like, you know.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
They're at the height of they're at the height of
you know, just being frightened.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
And then you know, the box opens up and the
box gets open, and then the lily pad is what
it's called, opens up and says, you know, hello, my
name is Lily right, and you know they kind of
close it. You know, they stop the trail at that point.
But it's basically I'm trying to like gather what we're
just where they're going with this, Like are the toys
gonna get thrown away again? Like, what's what's happening at
(57:45):
this point?
Speaker 3 (57:46):
Are they like my only question is eventually feel cause they.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
Did the throwaway scene already, so I'm like, what happens now?
Speaker 4 (57:56):
I don't know, but it feels like eventually is gone
to have to come around where they love Lily had to,
like they have to.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
You don't think they're gonna like destroy the damn No, no,
not even like that.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
Yeah, really can't go out, you know, because as you said,
your kid has one already, so it's like that's not
gonna work.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
Yeah, that's it has to be. We have to learn
to live with this.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
And somehow not let it take over it just to
be sitting there like a you're right, nigga, and Greta
Lee is actually voicing Lily.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
Pad out of your toys.
Speaker 4 (58:30):
I'm I don't think Rada says that, but that's that's
what Greta is to be thinking, Yeah, that's what Lily
Pad for real.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
This movie actually, first I was like this sounds stupid,
but then I read more about it, I'm like, oh,
this is actually interesting, and I saw the trailer.
Speaker 1 (58:46):
I said, fuck, yeah, I want to see it.
Speaker 2 (58:49):
It's called The Carpenter's Son and it stars You're a
Boy Nicholas Cage.
Speaker 1 (58:57):
About this, But I didn't know what the fuck was.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
It stars your boy, Nicholas Cage as Jesus's dad, Joseph.
It stars FK Twigs as Mary Mary Magdalene and I'm
presuming and then Noah Juupe. I'm not sure if I
know what he's been in, but no A Juupe as
Jesus and basically it the story follows Jesus in his
teenage years, but it's in the tone of a horror
(59:23):
movie and it sounds like again, when I read it,
I'm like, this sounds so fucking stupid. But then when
you watch it trailer, you're like, wait a minute, they
might have something. They this man, this okay director and
the screenplay writer Lotfi Nathan. He's an Egyptian man from
He's British Egyptian. You might want to watch the trailer,
(59:43):
ben I might have at some point. You might want
to mytchrail because I was like they might got some.
And also off the strength of Nick Cage, because that
man is just every time I see his face, I'm
just like, I gotta watch what he's in.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
Give it a try, it a try right now?
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Sure, if you want to, you want to react to it,
I don't know, but this ship is is kind of wild,
and I know it's gonna piss off so many people
because you're talking about Jesus in the context of a
horror and like you see like all sorts of horror
elements happening, including you know, copious blood and shit like that.
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
My only issue is that, uh, Nick Cage should be
a uh we'll do a bunch of terrible ship. But
let me watch this trailer. We'll see, Okay, a few
moments lay down. Hell no, I'm fucking watching that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
I was just like, this ship ain't gonna work. And
then I saw this trailer and I said, oh nah,
this is this is all.
Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
They're out of control with this one. I've got to
see it.
Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
If somebody gives us a free pass, I'll definitely be
down for it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Yeah, this ship, no, it's it's too much. And then
you added Nick Cage on top. That was enough for
me to be like that, I can't lie that, I mean,
but my faith is that yeah that was and it's
gonna himself a lot of people. No, this is quite true.
So even more so, it's like I kind of want
to see this.
Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
Also on the movie note, I watched both Frankenstein and
Jurassic World rebirth this weekend wildly different.
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
Yeah, and again I forgot Drastic World had even like
this is this last month. But like when it was like, oh,
it made eight hundred million globally, I said, damn, when
did it even come out?
Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
Like just watching it, I can definitely see why there's
little to no plot and a lot of people get eight.
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
It's off the strength of Jurassic Park and.
Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
People getting eight. In this one, a lot of people
get eight, like eight.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
That's kind of why you watch Rustic Park right, Like,
you know, because it's like, why do you keep doing
the same mistake over and over again of fucking with
the dinosaurs.
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
Over and over?
Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
The dinosaurs coming fuck with them?
Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
You know, they started it from the beginning.
Speaker 4 (01:01:57):
Yeah, but no, but I'm saying, like they're not even
on the there there's no park, there's no eyelids, there's
none of that. These niggas like this one family is
just out in the ocean and they're supposedly but they.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Not loose from a last juristic park. Remember, Yeah, but
in this one, this is thirty years later.
Speaker 4 (01:02:14):
Look, there's a whole storyline this thirty years later and
the dinosaurs have died off through the environment, et cetera.
So they only exist in this one area on the earth,
you know, and like right near the equator, and so
these we were supposed to be not in the area
and these dinosaurs is like, haha, nigga.
Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Well that's once again, it's our fault.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
You just Saiday, it's not supposed to be that. Everyone knows.
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
No, no, aren't supposed to be in that area.
Speaker 4 (01:02:42):
They're supposed to be good, and the dinosaurs frump through like, nah,
niggas is all our area.
Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
Well, I was gonna say, how are you gonna tell
the animal what's not the area? First of all, I
was as an animal. I was here first.
Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
I mean my land.
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
This land is not your land, not made for you
and me, this is me.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Well, it doesn't matter. But a lot of people get eight.
Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
It's I won't say it's good, you know, but if
you enjoy watching people get eight by the random dinosaurs,
I will say this. In this one, there's a lot
of mute and dinosaurs in this and they're like horrifically ugly.
Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
Yeah, I didn't like.
Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
White people getting eight until unless there's been a character
development that makes me think they need to get eight.
Oh no, people back in the day Jurassic Park, where
it's like this is the character development, you're like, you
know what you deserve spitting your face.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
That doesn't happen anymore. Niggas just get eight off gp off.
Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
Gpp Like good people get eight several times.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Like bro, like that's not enough for me, that's not
enough for me to sign up.
Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
Like okay, I really like that person. Oh well they
got eight either. That's how it fe was in this one.
Like it's bad. I mean the you know, the bad
guys eventually get eight too, but it takes.
Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Them a long time. I was really waiting for this
one day to get eight.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
And that's when it's just an indulging of how many
different dinosaurs, different ways can we show this happening.
Speaker 4 (01:04:07):
Yeah, and then, like I said, in this one, there
these mutant dinosaurs and they're all ugly as hell.
Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
Man, I don't know, I had no desire. Clearly, I
didn't realize the heck came out month ago.
Speaker 4 (01:04:18):
So I see how this one made money. You know,
my hirsche loves up in it. You know, you know,
I like stargro so I was entertained by those two.
But the rest of this was like, yeah, whatever, Frankenstein
by almost a Benicio.
Speaker 3 (01:04:35):
But Yale mel del Toro, the Bull himself, the legend himself.
Oh man, I thought it was beautiful. Let me say
that off the top.
Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
Right, it is, oh with Jacob LORDI, Yeah, yep, boy.
Speaker 4 (01:04:50):
Isaac up in that joint, Isaac, Yep. It's absolutely beautiful.
Like I'll say that and again and again. Just some
of the illest shots, you know, just well designed cinematography, costuming,
everything Ostro Isaac as fit the Frankenson is an absolute nutcase.
(01:05:10):
I enjoyed his performance. I enjoyed pretty much everybody performance.
Jacob as the frankson Monsters. You know, he gives it
as all and he is like he's not you know, he.
Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
Disappears into control.
Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
I just found it to be a story about men
needing hugs, you know, like yet another you.
Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Know, it's just like, you know, in a long tradition
of breaking bad and a million other stories at this point,
a white man needing a hug and destroying everything around
them when.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
Not you know, given that hug or not accepting that hug.
Speaker 4 (01:05:47):
And yeah, it's just like, yeah, this one is more
like a bunch of men who don't have moms and
then eventually kill all the mother figures that come into
their life.
Speaker 3 (01:05:59):
And you know, while beautiful, while well done, it just
I just didn't care.
Speaker 4 (01:06:07):
And the way it's told, the tension in the film
is trying to rob for me, because it's told like, well,
you know Victor survives and you know the monster survives.
So it's more just like, okay, how did they come
to this point and what's going to happen after that?
And it was cool, it's you know, it's interesting. I'm
not like I was not mad at it. Like I said,
it's you know, super beautiful. One of the best shop
(01:06:30):
most you know, beautiful movies I've seen this year. Just overall,
just a lot of great symbolism, a lot of all that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
But just you know, okay, and this is interesting because
this always happens in Hollywood. You remember Dante's peak in Volcano,
Twister and Tornado. Yeah, Well, next year there is a
film called The Bride coming out, which is about Frank
and Sign and the Bride, and it's more so centered
on the Bride at least from all the trailers I've
(01:06:57):
been seeing, starring Christian Bale. As Frank, Jesse Buckley as
the bride, Jake Gyllenhall's and there some other people's in this.
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
Baggie's directing.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Oh, his sisters Jakaman Okay, so that's why Penelope Cruise
I think might be in it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
I don't know. The point is And again Frankenstein.
Speaker 2 (01:07:13):
Right, and this seemed more like campy though, like like
it's like like dark like noir camp slash.
Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
Joker ish joker ish. Yeah, it's justifven that feel.
Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
But like joker and harsh.
Speaker 4 (01:07:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
Wow, this is.
Speaker 4 (01:07:30):
Directly not This is definitely gothic horror, you know, very
old school, you know, feels like the Francis Fort Coppola's
Dracula type vibe, you know, sixteen hundred, seventeen hundreds. I
would say it takes place in original timeline of Frankisteign
et cetera. Definitely not the story you've seen where you
(01:07:52):
know it ends up with them with the mob chasing
down Frakat Sin and bringing them up. This ain't that story,
but you know, you know, if you like that type
of thing, I would definitely recommend it. I just wasn't
somewhere where I was like, oh my god, movie of
the year, and I was like, okay, this is cool.
You know it's dope.
Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
Yeah, yeah, it's just it's just interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
How again, And you know, I understand no idea is
necessarily unique, but like, even though it's different tones and
different approaches, it's still all like again these copies of
each other. Like it's like, oh, we're all gonna talk
about frankenstin this year, you know what I mean? And
I have mentioned I mentioned Twister, you know, Dante's Peak,
White House Down, and Olympus has Fallen, Like it's like
kind of it's like again, those are more like similar
(01:08:35):
in tone to each other, and I understand these are
these Frankazan movies are different, but still well.
Speaker 4 (01:08:39):
Sometimes that happens is what you know, a stript goes
around in Hollywood, A bunch of people, a bunch of
different studios read it, and the studios like it, but
then someone buys it, and then someone the other studios like,
oh remember that script, We got to get our own version,
or like they've been competing biopics sometimes where they know
that both are coming out, so like, okay, we got
(01:09:00):
to put ours out first.
Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
So that's I don't think with the Bride.
Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
I think that's just one of those rare things, I know,
the Toro.
Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
This is a passion project for him, and even so
it's not a situation like that trying to get this
to the screen forever or it just finally, you know,
got made now. But he's been trying to make his
Frank Aside movie and working on it forever. And like
you said, the tone of these two things seems so
radically different.
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Different.
Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
Yeah, it's now deep impact and was Yeah, now that
it feels like and I can't remember I remember I've
looked up the story that before, but I think that
was the case of where, you know, the studio heard
that they're making so they were like, okay, we got
to get this cause they already like one of them
had the Deep in Past script and one of them
(01:09:48):
had the Armor againness script.
Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
You got to get these out.
Speaker 4 (01:09:51):
And happened that they both got scripts from you know,
about Asteroids and Nerve, and so they're like, fuck, oh
they're putting this out this year. Well we got to
get ours out there, you know. And that's how it happened.
I'm not sure which was the chicken or the egg.
Speaker 2 (01:10:04):
And now gotcha and and and before I forget because
you mentioned biopic, I got to see the Michael Jackson story.
Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
Have you seen that trailer? I have?
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Now the hold on got it is a you know,
I have to this as a Michael Jackson stand That's
what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
I have to you.
Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
I know you are.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
You mentioned him as one of year when I grew up, Like,
I get it, I get it. This is too, particularly
because of because.
Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Of who's involved and being his own blood you know,
his nephew rather but but his blood Jaafar Jackson playing him.
I'm just like, And we talked about this, we actually
talked about this in our group chat about how like
the last Michael Jackson quote biopic I've seen was like.
Speaker 1 (01:10:46):
It was when Angela Bassett was mom, right, and that
was a long, long, long, long long time ago.
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
So I'm just like, I haven't seen ship since really,
like you took seriously, I mean besides the one with
Flex Anderson, right, so that one.
Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
No, yeah, okay, this is my issue. No, no, I
you know, vanish it from my memory. Banish it. Yeah,
it's just man, it's MJ man, and it's one of
those things it's like the man is complicated to say
the least, there is.
Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
A lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:11:21):
Truth to all the sides of every story that's been
told about him, is what I'll say. And I know
I've heard different things about this film. I heard that
they had to reshoot the whole third act because they
couldn't use anything from the people who accused.
Speaker 3 (01:11:40):
Him and the Finding Neverland documentary. So man, you know
that's what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
It's like, my memories of MJ are so pure and
he's such you know, it's Michael fucking Jackson to me
that it's like, you know, it's like we talk about
separating art and from the artists, and you know, I
have to do that with Michael, you know, because it's
but I feel wrong about doing that, you know, because
it's Michael. And I know dan well that this movie
(01:12:06):
is gonna, you know, say and do a lot of
things where I'm gonna be like bruh. When I got
the Jimmy Hendrix Purple Hayes gig, one of the stipulations
was that we don't include drugs and sex, and Melo
and I when we were first told this was like
like talking about, man, that's just hit the drug and sex.
Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
But then when I relooked at it and rethought about it.
Speaker 4 (01:12:27):
I was like, no, that's probably for the best because
a lot of people think that drugs and sex is
why he made the music he made and why it
was so great, and that's just.
Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
Simply not the case.
Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
The man was a genius musician and he worked his
ass off to make the music that he made and
to play the guitar the way he did. And so
it's the same thing with Michael. It's like, memories might
just be better than Reannio.
Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
