got six minutes and a number of questions to get through.
Are you ready, I'm ready? All right? So Amy, first off,
why have you Why did you decide to put your
hand up to be mayor?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I like to put on my hand to be mayor
because if you remember legendary Josh Brown and his legacy,
I like to continuing in this and make something different.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
And Amy, in terms of your work experience, your qualifications,
What work experience and qualifications do you feel you have
which make you best placed for the position of mayor.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yes, I miss a finish my university in Timar with
the financial and management. And I'm strong in a community issue.
I like to fight for justice for the people to
be heard community points. It's very important and I mean in.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Terms of what you see as the most important issues
for down at the moment that council needs to work on.
Tell me a little bit more about what you think
are those most important issues.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Our most important issue is a parking is a very
very annoying community and we need to support local business
for the parking fee for all the worker and the
owner of the of the business people especially they're very
very struggling, especially for tourism physitor. When they come to

(01:52):
down and to visit our city, they're currently to buy
the parking and they get the ticket and they're very
annoying and they say to me, oh, I mean I
can't come back anymore because Darwin is a too much
trouble for parking.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
And I mean obviously parking is an issue or not,
it's something I've heard as well. What else do you
see some of those big issues around Darwin that we
need to deal with.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Okay, I already listened so many candidate bring back the
basic issue about foot path, uh, street everything, crime, everything.
But in my in my agenda, I like to bring
back the residents to the city. Uh same as Alosa

(02:37):
and Suntancaus. Free parking and city is full. Yeah I
work out, yes, yes, we need to bring back you
remember a long time ago we have a free parking
and city is full and this is support our local business.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
So ye yes, So I mean in terms of your
like your commitment then to voters, is that something that
you're going to be You know that you're committed to
that if you became the mayor, you'd like to see that.
Free parking?

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, free parking and I like wrote write rubbish and
accountability by council. We need to look at this because
community consultation is very important in disguise because our Dowen
is our community and our family. Like now I works
positively with all the down business to bring back tourism,

(03:33):
visitor and all the stakeholder to invest national international especially
I like to open our West t more is Tea
More Doarwin flight to support our sister city. This is
very important to bring back our economy in Dowin.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
I mean one of the questions we're asking all the
candidates is whether they've been a member of a political
party or if you are currently a member of a
political party.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I don't think so all of them is like independent,
So you're independent, you're not a member of a political party?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
No, no, no, no no, And have you ever been.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
I've never been?

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Always start with independent yep, And now I mean you've
got about oh, you've got a little while left. Why
should people vote for you?

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I like people to vote for me because honest, transparency,
accountability and integrity. I present it to my community with
my working heart in four years and I will continuing
this one shific duty. Community and communication is very important
in our community in Darwin.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
And I mean in terms of your preferences, who are
you preferencing?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
I don't know yet. I don't know yet. Depend Also
you know the people they can work with community or not.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Oh okay, so you haven't like you've not you're not
put out a how to vote or whatever to to
show people where to put their preferences.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
If I give my preference to the people and I
make mistakes, they can have mistake in their life for
another four years. And I don't want because my community
already suffer enough and they are time for change and
time for my community for is to be heard, because
community is very important for us.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
I mean, you've got about forty five seconds left. Anything
else you'd like to add?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I like to add in here. When you be elected,
don't bring too much promise in this election, but you
have to remember this promise you have to delivery on time,
because if you're lying, you're not delivery. The mean you're
lying to yourself, you're lying to the people, you're lying
to the country. And this not in welcome, not welcome

(05:48):
in a community hard oh, I need to be honest.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
