Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, there has been a major development in the Justin
Baldoni and Blake Lively legal sagas running a film it
ends with us. Well, let's get some more his hell
Entertainment editor peterfood hih peek. Bad news for Baldoni this morning.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
For today at least, it is. Look, I'll try and
make this as simple as I can. We know that
the movie was this ends with us. He was the
director and the star of it. She was the female
lead in it. Suddenly she is suing him. The story
appears in the New York Times. She made all sorts
of allegations about workplace harassment. So he says, no, hang on,

(00:35):
I'm counter seing, I'm going to sue you, and I'm
going to sue Ryan Reynolds and the New York Times
and your publicist. So what has happened overnight? And this
has been bubbling away now for six months. It's not
due in court till much of next year. But what
has happened overnight is the judge has thrown out justin
Baldoni's case, he cannot proceed with his case against Blake Lively,

(00:56):
New York Times, Ryan Reynolds and the publicist and the
reason and why it's been thrown out is because the
judge has decided that you cannot have a defamation case
when it's based on things that are alleged in court documents.
If you can't make the allegations in a court document,
where are you going to make them? Had she gone
on a TV chat show or a radio show and

(01:19):
made those claims publicly, then likely he would be able
to proceed. But she didn't do that. The allegations were
in the documents. The New York Times based their story
on those documents. So at this point in time, her
case is still going ahead during court in March of
next year. He does have the option of appealing to
another court. It's unclear yet whether he's going to do

(01:41):
that or not. And certainly what has happened overnight is
not necessarily any indication as to whether she's going to
win her case or not.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's really got nothing to do with it.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
As we know, Justin has in the last six months
provided all sorts of receipts, documentation, emails, even vision that
somewhat discredit a lot of the claims she's been making.
So her attack and her fight is still on dueing
court March of next year, there was.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
A brief moment of chaos. This is in Sydney last
night at Katy Perry's show.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yes, look, the best thing is to take a look
for yourself and we'll talk about it. So this happened
last night during Katie's show when she was on stage
doing her act. So yeah, look, thankfully it would seem

(02:42):
that person was just an over enthusiastic fan, but it's
still not acceptable.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Katie actually said from the stage, there's never going to
be another show quite like this, and I have a
funny feeling. What she meant then is there's going to
be some heavy duty meetings going on with security to.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Find out how that was possible to happen.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Now you can see here these days, of course everyone
goes to a show, they hold up.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Their iPhones and film everything.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
So we've got, you know, ninety eight thousand different angles
of what happened. And whilst on the one hand, it's
kind of fun of the amusing, on the other hand,
you know, if that over enthusiastic fan was able to
do it, someone with ill intent could easily do it
as well. So you can be guaranteed that those security
meetings are happening at this very minute.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I want to see security out there just a little
quicker too, couldn't you. Yeah, Duchess Meghan might be expanding
her as Ever business.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
What's going on with that? Well, look, she might be.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
So you know, when you go and get a trademark,
and in her case, it's as Ever. She said, I
want to own the right to call any kind of
jam or flower sprinkles as Ever. But now she's gone
back and actually taken out that to extend itself to
hospitality and to temporary accommodation. So the belief is that
she's now looking at the possibility of opening perhaps the

(03:57):
restaurants or boutique hotel under the as Ever brand. It's
a kind of a cute name. But I hope she's
better organized than she was for the first round. You know,
we had that whole year of build up to the
products dropping and sure they sold out within an hour,
which is great, but that was it.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
She didn't have any more stock.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
So you're really, you know, obviously you've got to be
somewhat optimistic and you're planning. So hopefully, if she is
going into the hotel and restaurant business, she's going to
be better organized this.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Time, only one thing on the menu of their jam
on toast with some flowers.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Flowers because it really elevates it. Riya Cary's new single
is a Kid and this is her first new song
in years.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, it is actually so it's great to see that.
You know, when you stay away from the charts for
a long time, it can be sometimes.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Hard to get back in.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
So the early indications are that Dangerous Type has gone really.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Well for her.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Now on Friday, she's going to be dropping the music video.
It looks very very much Vegas, he said. In the
casino and everything, the sound itself, it's very much that
the nineties R and B type. Dangerous Video is dropping
on Well, they're saying Friday, I guess that means our Saturdays.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
So Mariah is back in town.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
I feel like I'm watching an ad for you Fragrance
at chemist Warehouse.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
It does looking about it.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
It's type in the red anywhere. It's no Christmas anthem.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I'm good only Pete, Thank you, mate, thank you.
