Speaker 1 (00:01):
Kylie's a little upset with this. Her husband, however's pretty
happy as it. Couple in town as Katy Perry and
former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau make it kind of official.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, it's all official. For more, we're joined by entertainment
editor Peter Ford. They were spotted together holding hands celebrating
Katie's birthday. Wasn't a fast shot in the yacht, which
some people dismissed us.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah, foolish people. Yeah, Justin and Katie is sitting in
a tree and they chose very much to make this
official and public. On Saturday night, her forty first birthday.
They were at the very famous night club in Paris,
Crazy Horse, and they chose to walk out those doors
hand in hand, just to make sure if there was

(00:44):
any room for doubt, they are hand in hand. So yeah,
it is most definitely on.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Where will it go now?

Speaker 3 (00:51):
That'll be interesting because she still has only another six
weeks of her world tour left. After that, she's got
a lot of downtime next year. She has about seven
festival gigs booked. As for Justin, well, no one quite
knows what he's doing these days. He's got a very
good parliamentary pension. He gets that until he's sixty seven
years old. He has been living in Ottawa. The belief

(01:13):
is he's been planning to move to Montreal. Now whether
that's going to change, we don't know. Katie's primary residence
is in Los Angeles, so it's very much a case
of watch and wait and see. But they clearly are
very happy for us to know that it is absolutely on.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
That was quite the loop on that vision, actually thoughts.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Lovely. I'm very happy for them. But he's got the
children back in Canada, so like I imagine, you want
to stay close to his children. What does he do
these days as X nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
He hasn't taken on anything as yet. Now obviously ex
prime ministers get off at all sorts of consultancy roles
or whatever. But to this, yeah, he'll do a book,
so no doubt we'll be following his every move from now.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Anyway, back at work at nine o'clock on Monday, No,
exactly right, So.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
How she gets aing you boat? The old bert was
very disappointing to me. Yes, where they was snapped you're
a gentleman's cruiser. Not right. Speaking of new couple's Pete
coldplays Chris Martin's rumen to have moved on since his
flit with Dakota Johnson.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Yes, with Sophie Turner a Game of Throne Star. There
have been a little bit of buzz about this. Now
there seems to be some kind of official word that
they have actually been out dating. We haven't had a
very public display of it as we've just had with
Justin and Katie, but again we'll watch.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
And wait and see.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Both of them only in fairly recent months have come
out of longer term relationships and now this does seem
to be the new love match.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Pete, this was quite sad. June Lockhart has sadly passed away.
She was one hundred years old. Well now from some
of those great old TV shows.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Yeah, she of course was Missus Robinson then Lost in Space,
one of the great TV mums, and of course she's
got a double claim to fame because you also was
the mum in Lassie for a couple of years as well.
So Lost in Space because for a lot of us
growing up was the show. And what a powerful message
in a very subtle way that Dune Lockhart was sending

(03:09):
out with that character, because yes, she was on the
Jupiter two, making dinner every night for the family. But
she also was a scientist and a biochemist, so she
was actually doctor Maureen Robertson.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
That was her title.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
So that back in the sixties, that was a very
powerful thing to be showing on television and you know,
letting kids, particularly girls know you can have both things
if you want it. And she was one hundred years
old only a matter of weeks ago. Actually we sent
her a message and I got the message to her,
the lovely message that you both joined in when we
wished to happy one hundred birthday. Her first TV appearance

(03:44):
was film appearance nineteen thirty eight in a Christmas Carol
and yeah, and everyone who knew her and her three
kids from the TV show have all gone on to
social media and said how terrific she was and what
a highly intelligent woman she was too. She actually was,
bizarrely a member of the White House Press Court. She
had all the press credentials and she would turn up

(04:07):
at White House press briefings up until about twenty years
ago and just sit there because she enjoyed. I think
she really wanted to be a journalist. I think that's
actually what she wanted to do so with tagour hats
off today remember very fondly, June Lockhart.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Presumably those Robinson kids two are probably about eighty now, if.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
They're getting on it.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Bis wanted to be Will Robinson Wells growing up.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Hey Pete.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Singer Nellie Pittato has shock fans with an unexpected announcement.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah, this sort of came out of nowhere, really, although
she has taken time out before, but over the weekend,
Nelly announced that she's stepping away from all performing gigs.
She's basically saying leave me alone.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Now.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Some people are saying it's a reaction to the body
shaming that she's had to endure. She hasn't actually said
that herself. She said she wants to find other creative
outlets to pursue. And I think that's such a mature
decision for someone to make, say this is not really
bringing me happiness, and you know, it's very hard I
would imagine to be famous at that level and to

(05:07):
be copying a lot of negativity and stuff on social media.
And I think it's a very brave person who says
I want something else for myself. A lot of people
do it. A lot of people think getting famous is
going to bring them happiness and success and life will change. Well,
it doesn't always change for the better. And I think
she's clever enough to know that maybe it's not for her.

(05:28):
So let's hope she's finding that happiness that she's seeking.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Indeed, Bette Middler hosted the Ultimate New York Night this week.
I reckon this would be a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
It would be fun.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
For thirty years, actually, BET's been involved in the think
called the New York Restoration Project, and in fact, for
a number of years she was the president of it.
And it's all about getting money in to restore old buildings,
make them look great, to make sure that parks in
New York City are well maintained. I mean a lot
of money goes into keeping Central Park maintained, but they
forget about a lot of the small parks. So they

(06:01):
raised millions and millions of dollars every year. So this
weekend's event was actually to celebrate Bet, so a whole
bunch of different stars got up on stage and celebrated
her and recreated some of her favorite songs and whatever.
So here's but Bet herself is still very much going
about to turn eighty and still in good form.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Have a look. So there you go.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
It would have been a fun night to be there in.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
New York, wouldn't it? Event you and Pete, Yeah, we'd
love it.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Yeah front row?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Can you get us? Can you get us there next year?

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Pete, Well, if it's going to be a similar theme,
we don't want to go into boring year. We want
the fun over the top ten.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Fron fun not singing along.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Looks like a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You can chuck in the donation, Pete.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
