Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, Jonathan Bailey as People magazine Sexiest Man of Life
for twenty twenty five, and the Internet is very.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Pleased with this year's pick. Apparently according to the Internet.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Yes, even though Larry had to ask me, who is
he a kid?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Well, well, I don't watch Bridget what's the other one? Yes?
If he was in Fast and Furious, I know. But
I'm sorry to let.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
You down, Larry, stand down. I've got this Pete Pete
Fordnite had this, haven't we. This is great publicity for Wicked.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah, it sure is, and for Jonathan too. And you
know you're right actually, because I wonder if he does
skew totally to a female audience, because I was on
radio this morning with the Monkey and Sean on Ace
Radio and they had no idea who he was.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Monkey and Sean skew high female as well.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I reckon, Yeah, well no, I think I think it
might be a female thing. But we know who. I mean.
He's been around a long time. Actually started as a
kid playing gab Roche at eleven years old in le
Mis on the stage in London, and so I think
that's why he's very grounded now that he's sort of
really hit the A List, and there he was last
night on Felon's program, being revealed as being the sexiest

(01:06):
man alive. And I think it's worth noting. And people say,
why are you mentioning that he's the first time an
openly gay man has won that, And why I mate
mention of that is because we have this ongoing narrative
all the time about stars not or male stars not
being willing to come out there as the big reveal
there on the show. You know, people agents will tell

(01:27):
young male actors, oh, you'll never be taken seriously as
a romantic lead, or you'll never become a sex symbol
if you're openly gay. And here's something like this which
kind of breaks down those closet doors if you like. So, Yeah,
it's a fun mone week. I think I thought Jacob
a lord, he might get it. I think he went
for Travis Kelcey Kylie, but was Larry's.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
He drinks whiskey and has a bed and there's a
or a man of the people up there.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Peete. I know, well, I mean I do think that
I said to you joking yesterday. It's got a lot
to do with how enthusiastic and determine your publicist is.
And of course Wicked too is about to drop, and
his cast members from Wicked two got together and to
send him congratula lord, congratul lord, can you say it
for me? Congratulatory thank you messages to him. Take a

(02:19):
look at.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
This, congratulations to our boy Jonathan Bailey.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Hey that you was sexist man alive.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Congratulations, I'm being man was sexist man alive.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
He's a sexist man not only on this planet, but
in the Solar System, in the universe, in any multiverse
and all across ours as we all know clearly look
at those abs.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
But also you know, the kindest and the most brilliant
and beautiful inside as well. Looks best to miss single
while doing gymnastics. Now the well knows, but unknown all along.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I love you so much. Congratulations. I'm going to wear
this all the time. So there you go, all the
cast members getting together. There's the various covers that are available,
and yeah, he's got that crown on his head now.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
And sales of labradoodles about tes yes and Calippos. Did
you even yeah, like the ice block? Did you see
that there was a show of him in the icelot
it is apparently clipo sales are going through the roof,
and that's someone to Jennifer Anison's new partner, Jim Curtis.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
New photos, Yes he has. Yesterday we talked about the
fact that Jen had gone well, they've got hard launch
with Jim, and after months of speculation, and now Jim
has returned the favor with five photographs actually of them together.
So if there was any doubt yesterday, there is absolutely
no doubt now that they are together and very happy.

(03:38):
And as we talked about yesterday, if you look at
Jim's Instagram, you know he's referred to as being a
hypnotist and a wellness guru and all those kind of
spooky so outing things. It's actually just a lot of
common sense and positive thinking. So I think it's a
good match. I think we're all giving it the seal
of approval.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I liked him until I just read that social media
comments off already. If this is a dream, I don't
want to wake up love heart anyway like that. They
look very happy. Yeah, I'm sending her congratulatory missage, you know,
I know.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
He's sending her a Calippo.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
We've got a brain.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
New trailer for Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackmans news thing. Yeah,
absolutely song Sung Blue movie coming out of Christmas. We
know it's about this duover, a Neil diamond tribute act,
and a new trailer has dropped forward. Take a look
at this. Look at the night you're supposed to feel
a relelant. Oh, Patsy Klain, My boves were just a

(04:32):
bit bigger.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
It could be Dolly, you're blind?

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Oh boy am I I? Kim begins, No, you know who?
You would be perfect for Neil Diamonds.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
We did.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
We should call ourselves Lightning and Thunder.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
That is not very professional of me, but I've been
wanting to do it.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
And early reviews are very good, most especially for Kate.
They're saying this is good act. We get an oscar
good one.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Yeah, absolutely hilarious. Kin Kardashian the interview, it's gone viral overnight.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Pete, it has and the Kim's on the trail to
promote this TV show All's Fair. In this clip, she's
with Sarah Poulson, one of her co stars. The TV
series has got shocking reviews. But they're being interviewed by
a woman called grime Gran and do you know what
a jacket potato is or maybe a baked potato. Well,
Kim doesn't know what jacket potato means. Have a look

(05:29):
at this.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
And you're a big fan of jacket potato, isn't you?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Who do you like a jacket potato?

Speaker 1 (05:39):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I really want to know if you like a jacket potato.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I don't know what a jacket potato. You don't know
what jacket potato is? What is a jacket potato potato
cooked in the skin?

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Oh? I love that? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
What's your villain feeling? Do you like it? Sour cream
and butter? Oh, sour cream will be about oh lovely
to me? Feel angry?

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Ah?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
I love that. She's great, isn't she? And we're going
to try and get her on. So she's I guess
you call her an influencer. And her and her grandson
got together on TikTok talking about grime music. Now, grime
music is like a variation on hip hop music, he said,
sounding like he knows what he's talking about. And this
is all about grime music. And now she's out doing

(06:23):
interviews with celebrities. She's like character you've fighted in Coronation
Street or in fact, Katherine Tate used to do a
character called Nan who sound exactly like her and she
says outrageous things. And in the interviews she went on
to give Kim Kardashi and some underwear as a gift.
And it's just good excitement when Grime Grand there they are.

(06:43):
I look at she's handed over the gifts. She brought
them down at the market, along with the jacket potato.
That's so good.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
That's like my face when Kylie's talking about Bridget and
a lot more. I've got no idea what you're talking
about like that.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Hopefully we can get her on the show. Yeah, thanks,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
We'll see you later in the show. M

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
