Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, the full podcast of the Duchess Meghan's later sit
down interview has now been released as she opens up
about her business and social media fame.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Let's get some more on this and tav An editor
Peter Ford is here. How are you, Pete? What's the
reaction online been like to this one?
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Well, anything that Meghan does gets a very mixed reaction,
So there's all ninety minutes of it available if you
want to go and listen to it. The podcast is
called Aspire and it's hosted by Emma Greed and Emma,
I must says, a very engaging host. I've not been
familiar with her work, but she asks some very pertinent questions.
It's very much about drive, very much about desires, very
(00:38):
much from Meghan's point of view, about being her authentic
self and reclaiming her voice by way of going back
onto social media. And this has dropped just as she's
about to relaunch the as Ever brand, even though I
think two weeks ago she was saying it was all resting.
Now suddenly she has an influx of new products and
that's all about to be dropped in forty eight hours.
(01:01):
So this is all part of the hype leading up
to that. So I'll play you this quite lengthy grab,
but it is very much Megan ex Megan explaining why
it is she's gone back onto social media and how
she doesn't fear filing at all.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Have looked, I do not think about failing.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
No, you're not scared of fading.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Is anything actually a failure ultimately because you're going to
learn from it no matter what happens. But no, I
feel confident in what I've been dreaming up for so long.
I feel confident in the partner that I have, and
I feel really proud of the team that I have.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
There's just such an intense narrative around everything that you do.
I can't imagine not being a bit scared. I'm not
saying that there.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Aren't moments where I don't feel scared. Of course you do.
Now being back on social as well, I have a
place where I can share it on my own term.
Started the account in January of this year?
Speaker 5 (01:53):
Was it only January? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Oh, the last time I was on social boomerang was
around Oh lord, it's.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Been a minute for me. It was a great way
to get my voice back. Yeah, you have to get
my way's back. Million percent yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
And that's that's really it's my space and my channel
for joy. That is the intention.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
So earlier this year they employed a brand new PR
team and this strategy seems to be very much to
get out there, get your face out there more and more,
do a lot more on social media. There's a barely
a day goes by that she isn't dropping something. So, yeah,
she's bringing us joy. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, well she's bring us a lot of content too,
and so thank you to us. So can you PR
team for that?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Yeah, exactly, we'll always take her content. Let's move on.
Someone who also generates some of his content and his
own is Jason Isaacs. I love him from White Lotus.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
He's always spilling.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Secrets that I don't think is meant to be what's
he said.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Now for Yeah, this is a real doozy. So he
has confirmed that the entire cast of White Season White
Loadus Season three all got paid a flat fee of
sixty one thousand dollars per episode. That's an Australian dollars. Now.
There were eight episodes, of course, so you can do
the maths now, that is quite a substantial amount of
money to most of us.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Sorry, could you just do the mask, can do the mask.
You just do the mask.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
We'll have the number for you by the end of
the segment. So basically, yeah, get your calculators.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Out your calculator.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, So basically, you know, that's some of the actors
involved in season three. None of them were like a
list name actors, a lot of them, but they were
all very solid working actors and reliable actors, and that's
obviously why they were employed. But none of them were
necessarily big magnetic names who are going to draw crowds
in So for some of the younger ones, of course,
(03:40):
that was a very good fee to have sixty one
thousand dollars an episode, and so yeah, I'm not sure
it was meant to be made public, but suddenly now
we know that is what they all got.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Have we got the fust.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It's just under half a million bars Australian. But the
thing that got the most over line was all the
pad time you could eat limited Dolly Parton Pep is
being in a huge way.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Yeah, she's getting an Oscar and she can quite legitimately
say as of November she's an Oscar winner, which of
course is almost getting her into that egot category. Now
she is getting the gene her Shoulterward, which is for
people who work in the film in distric but then
parlay that fame into doing great work in the world.
And I don't think anybody could deny that Dolly Partner
(04:32):
has done that now because she's made a few very
notable movies, but she's not first and foremost a movie star.
But based on her fame, you know, she's done so
many extraordinary things. I guess the best known mine is
probably getting the books into schools and libraries for kids
to start reading millions and millions of books. You know,
She's wrote out a check for a million dollars when
(04:53):
they needed some very fast funding for a COVID vaccine,
happy to do that. You know, when there is major
bush fires in the area where she lives, you know,
she gets out the checkbooks. So she's constantly making a
difference in the world. So no one's going to argue
with Dolly getting that. At the special event in November,
it's not actually part of the Academy Awards night, but
they run out kind of highlights package from the night.
(05:16):
The other person is getting what is Tom Cruise, and
nobody again I would suspect can deny that Tom Cruise
is one of the great movie stars of our lifetime.
You know, for decades now he's been churning out great work,
popular work, but not necessarily work that is going to
get oscars, and so he hasn't got much chance of
really becoming an ego, I might add, But nonetheless, for
(05:37):
all he's done, and particularly in the area of stunt work,
and they did cite that when they were announcing that
he would be getting one in November as well. So
Tom Cruise Oscar winner as of November.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Services to running alone. You know something here, career warrant all.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Thanks for that.
