Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back. Let's return to entertainment news for you.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:03):
Blake Lively has subpoenaed Perez Hilton and Candace Owens in
her latest move against Justin Baldoni in the it ends
with US legal saga.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Yeah for more.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
We're joined by entertainment editor Peter Forward and welcome back, Pete.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Wisely, Lively's team done this.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Well, you may recall, with this ongoing case not her
claims not only relate to what she says happened on
the set of the movie, also what happened afterwards and
what she claims was a smear campaign that was orchestrated
against her by Justin Baldoni, and she claims using a
number of online commentators. Now, according to TMZ this morning,
(00:40):
they're reporting that three people have been subpoenaed. Now those
three people are all saying, we haven't got any paperwork,
no one served anything on us, yet we're reading about
it on TMZ. Now those three people included man called
Andy Signora, also Candace Owens, who's got a huge online following,
and probably the best known of the tree is Perez Hilton,
(01:01):
long serving Hollywood gossip commentator. Now they're all saying we
haven't got any paperwork now in these people.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Also, I might add like a bit of publicity.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
It's good for business for these people online to be
talked about and reported about. And as you'll see here
in a minute, Perez Hilton is loving it. So this
is firstly Candice Owens, followed by Perez Hilton.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Have along double that because we've reached out to the
subpoena de trio and two reps for Blake and Justin
for comment. So far, no word back. Six minutes. So far,
no word back. We gave them six minutes and they can't.
They haven't replied. So we're just going to publish this piece,
which you already have written and prepared obviously, because we're
an effective hit squad. And that's exactly what the New
York Times dad, Justin Baldoni. They don't want you to
(01:44):
be able to respond with any facts because they're not
interested in facts. It's like a psychological game that they're
playing with the masses.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Okay, my response is thank you, I love I love this.
Nothing would make me happier than taking the witness stand
and testifying.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Now, why that is particularly significant is because Perez Hilton's
attorney is a man called Brian Friedman, who is also
justin Baldoni's attorney. Now Perez Hilton is swearing, and obviously
is willing to swear under oath that Brian Friedman has
never given any information to him whatsoever. Nothing has been
(02:32):
leaked to him from Brian Friedman. There's always third parties
involved in these things. The other interesting thing to note
is what happens next in terms of what rights these
commentators have.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
As members of the press.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
They may not be mainstream press, but they still are
part of the media in twenty twenty five. So can
they be forced to name names and reveal contacts if
they are under oath?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Hey, Peter, I don't like him.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
When we get about an hour and a half into
the show, haven't mentioned Megan Markele, I get a little twitchy.
Have you got any Megan Markele stuff going?
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah, it's a good day for her actually because her napper,
Valley Rose, has completely sold out, sold that with an hour.
So she's now in the wine business, right. She's taking
on Dan Murphy's and she's a lot more expensive. Actually,
it's each bottle of this is thirty dollars each, and
she's selling impacts of three. So that's ninety dollars us
(03:24):
to get her Napper Valley Rose.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Now apparently it's very nice. I'm sure it is lovely.
Next stop Champagne.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
She's going into the champagne business and that's the next
one that should be out within the next few weeks.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
And yeah, there's a lot of money to be made.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
If you can get a foothold into that alcohol market,
you can do very nicely for yourself. Does raise some
interesting questions I would think about somebody like her selling alcohol,
promoting alcohol.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
We'll save that for another day.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah, and alsoe unless she's making it in France, it's
going to be sparky exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so sparkly
or is she okay in.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
The style the silences? Ay.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Katie Perry has wrapped up her Rosy tour in Adelaide Peak.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, so it's over. The Australian tour is over.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
It's been a huge success, particularly this last leg in Adelaide,
where she wasn't going to be going originally and then
she went there and did an incredible four shows in
Amongst all this, of course, there's been a lot of
drama going on with what seems to be the breakup
with Orlando. There's still been no official word from her
or him, but certainly no denials from anybody either. So
(04:30):
this piece of vision I'm about to show you as
going viral today. People are reading into it that she's
having some kind of breakdown. I don't know that's true.
She might just be happy.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
You know.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
These might be happy tears that the Australian leg is over.
She's got two weeks off now before it recommences in Denver, Colorado.
You decide yourself, have a look. Yeah, So, I don't know.
(05:12):
They look like happy tears to me.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Who knows. I hope she's going okay, it's been a
great tour.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
I know what she's crying. We're chafing from that outfit.
Very uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Say you're shouting that three minutes till I'm.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Out of this.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yesterday we were celebrating John Farnham's seventy sixth birthday, legendary stuff,
and today we're still celebrating with the family.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yeah, and it was nice this news dropped on John's birthday,
even though the baby actually arrived on June eighteen, And
this was the announcement that his son James and his
partner Tessa have become parents a baby called Jet, a
baby boy called Jet. So first time grandparents now John
and Jill are. You can imagine how thrilled they are
(05:52):
if you read John's book The Importance of family is
paramount for both John and Jill, and Jill wrote a
beautiful section in that book as well, so they are
obviously overjoyed at the fact they have become first time grandparents,
as I have no doubt Tessa's family are as well.
So lovely news there, given we all know what John
and his family have been through. Every bit of happy
(06:13):
news we all join in. We all feel happy for
them as well.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Yeah, well, said Pete. Lots of love to the fam.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Thank you mate, thank you, thank you having
