Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, we're going to return to this morning's Royal News.
Prince Harry has met with his father, King Charles face
to face for the first time in more than a
year and a half.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
For more, we're joined by our entertainment editor Peter fordt
you had the clock on this thing almost an hour,
like fifteen minutes at Clarence House.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Almost an hour. It'll be interesting to know how much
they were actually face to face for because obviously once
you enter Clarence House you then have to make your
way to the appropriate room, etc. Anyway it did happen,
people are curious about why there was a tip off
to the media that managed to get the arrival of
Prince Harry's car, etc. This is what will be the

(00:37):
theme over the next couple of days. What leaks out
from that meeting? From Which side does it seem to
be leaking out from? Maybe nothing will leak out. That
could be a good turning point. Now, what was this
meeting about? Was it as simple as King Charles, who
we know is battling cancer. Does he just want to
make peace with his son, Does he want to be

(00:58):
content in knowing they at least have civil relationship, or
indeed did he want to reprimand him face to face
for all that's gone on on or did he want
to invite him back into the fold. These are the
things we don't know when we are clearly speculating on
I don't think he's going to be invited back into
the fold quite frankly, and there's no guarantee he wants it.

(01:18):
And even if he did, how would that work in
terms of the late Queen has self said, you can't
be half in and half out, and how would it
work with Megan? You know, I don't think she wants
to step foot back in the joint again. So a
lot of unanswered questions still, but it was I think
a breakthrough and most people would be I think pleased
to know that the King and Prince Harry did meet

(01:39):
for whatever reasons and whatever that may lead on to.
But a lot of people are still very cynical obviously
about Prince Harry. Now, yesterday we spoke about the donation
that he had made to the well Child charity in
Nottingham one point one million pounds around about two point
three million Australian dollars. You know, it was a very
substantial donation, but was it trying to buy back favor.

(02:04):
Was he trying to buy back his way into people's
hearts by giving a donation like that and turning it
into a more positive narrative. We did see yesterday when
he was at that event in Nottingham. His pr person
was there. Who's trying to rehabilitate Harry's image? Well, Good
Morning Britain did a poll. Now there's nothing scientific about this,

(02:24):
but they did a poll as to whether people out
there watching the show thought it was a genuine donation
for the right reasons or whether they were being cynical
in thinking there's more to it. This is how it
began to play out on air.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
So we asked, did you think Prince Harry's donation yesterday
was genuine? Well, the numbers have gone down. Fewer than
half of you believe it was genuine. More than fifty
percent of you say no, insincere. Wow, Well it's one
million now.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
That was about fourteen hours ago. Now just checking it
in the last hour, this poll is still open. Like
I said, there's nothing scientific about this, but the poll,
as you can see now, has changed slightly, but still
it does seem to be that it's around about a
fifty to fifty share, they're going to jump up and
down five points either way. So what that says is

(03:14):
half the people who are watching that show who felt
motivated to respond, are very cynical about Prince Harry's motive,
motives and intentions.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Can you take polls that are done on morning television
shows seriously because we well, no.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Oh this one weekend.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Yeah, we're putting that into a poll.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
That's our poll question, right, So if you can take
morning show polls seriously.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
To the movies that longtime friends Matt Damon and Ben
Affleck g we love them together. They're teaming up again.
Their friendships seems rock solid.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Yeah, of course, and you know, great collaborators too in
a business sense as well, going way back to when
they were both so young and then instantly so incredibly successful.
Fast forward to twenty twenty five, a new project, a
movie called The Rip, and it's for Netflix. It sees
them back together. Group of cops in Miami find a

(04:11):
house and it's full of millions of dollars of cash
and what does ensue after that is the premise of
the movie. Here is a little of the trailer for
The Rip.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
How are you doing this evening, five cops just magically
appear of my dwist step I've and batter mind if
we come inside many drugs.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Dog's not trained to take drugs. The dog's training to
take money. How much was the tip to Kingman?

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Three hundred grand? That's a twenty million dollar rim.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Do you think I want to jack this rip? I
don't trust you right now, and that's a problem. So
it looks good. I'd like to look at that one,
So watch out for that one on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah, and if you think a Fleck and Damon's relationship
is rock solid, head to the morning shirt hole and
let us know what you think. Finally, Robert Irwin has
graced the cover of People magazine.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah, so he's on the publicity try obviously because Dancing
with the Stars starts this weekend, and obviously we'll stay
across it during the duration of his run in the show.
And he's got the cover of People magazine. Yeah, I
think so I went will and there he is there
and in a you know a lot of the stuff
that we often we already know about him because we've

(05:18):
seen him a lot, and that incredible worth ethic, that
determination to do his father proud to continue the conservation work,
but obviously spreading out into different areas as we've seen
him do in recent times. So, as I say, the
competition is going to be fascinating. Interestingly, Corey Feldman, former
Child Star, was announced last week as one of the participants.

(05:40):
No one's seen him since he's gone a wall, so look,
that won't be a problem for Robert. We know the
kind of work ethic that Robert's got.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
He's probably stretching. Thanks Pete, thank you, see you soon.
