Speaker 1 (00:03):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
The Melbourne executive at the center of the Wayne Kerry
wine bar video scandal has gone public as the woman
in the clip, slamming the women who filmed her.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Let's go liight to Adrew McCormack.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Now, the woman has promised to take legal action over
this clip.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Mac up, that's right.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Eddie Kate Asta a thirty eight year old marketing executive
from Melbourne. She's added herself as the woman in this
video of an alleged X rated rendezvous with Wayne Carey. Now.
The video shows her leaving a toilet at an upmarket
wine bar in Armadale on Friday. Around twenty seconds later,
the AFL great walks out as well. The two women

(00:41):
who took this video insinuate that the pair had a
toilet trist. She says that isn't true and her reputation
has been greatly affected as a result of this video
and its circulation over the weekend. She says her life
has been completely turned upside down over the past few days.
She's suffered physically, mentally, professionally and personally. She wonders whether

(01:03):
or not this will affect her dating life and love
life for the rest of her life because of the
insinuations of this video, so she has spoken to lawyers.
She said she'd be naive not to go and seek
her legal options about whether or not she can claim
damages against these two women who filmed and then published

(01:23):
this video.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Eddie, thank you Maca.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
A woman has been charged with two counts of attempted
murder following a horror house fire in Melbourne Southeast. The
blaze left her and two children fighting for life. The
girl's age just eight, and ten were rushed to hospital.
The thirty seven year old Chadstone woman was arrested yesterday morning.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
She said to appear in court today.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
The murder of a fifty seven year old man on
the Sunshine Coast has prompted renewed calls for tougher crime
laws in Queensland. Two teenagers fifteen and seventeen year old
have been charged with the murder of Dravco Bili.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
His body was found at his home on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Don't matter both teens will be among the first to
be treated as adults in the state, facing minimum mandatory
life in jail and a new adult crime adult time laws.
Opposition leader Stephen Miles now arguing the laws of failed
not acting as a deterrent as promised. Disgrace City businessman
Selim Mahasha is due to walk free from prison today.

(02:26):
Let's go on to Sam Payne at Berkshire Park where
Mahasha is being held. Sam, the former deputy mayor, could
walk free as early as this morning.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Yeah, good morning, Eddie. He could. He could be walking
free here in a chilly windsor at the John Moroney
Correctional Center after serving almost five years behind bars. Now
he's been in jail since twenty twenty for domestic violence
offenses and then also fraud. But he gained national attention
in twenty fifteen for that extravagant wedding when at the
time he was the deputy mayor of Auburn. He's wearing

(02:57):
a white suit. There was luxury cars, helicopters and even
rummas that shut down that Western Sydney street. But ever
since then he was never able to get out of
those national headlines, and that rocky road led him behind bars,
facing firstly accusations of conflict of interest, drug use and
then now domestic violence. But we'll be here this morning
tracking and we'll let you guys know when he comes out. Eddie.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Thank you, Sam.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
The case for interest rate cut appears to have new
momentum this morning thanks to surprise new jobs figures like
Isma Mullen and Canberra is See what are the numbers show.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Eddie, good morning.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Unemployment is up from four point one percent to four
point three percent. Now that sounds bad for employment, of
course it is, but it builds a case with the
Reserve Bank Board to cut interest rates when the board
next meets next month. And that's because the lower cash
rate would encourage spending. More spending means more jobs. The
Reserve Bank Governor Michelle Bullock said she'd be watching those

(03:52):
numbers very closely.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Before the board meets again.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
She did make that shock decision to keep interest rates
on hold at the last meeting at three point eight
five percent. So it's all looking positive for a rate
cut in August, but as we know, with the RBA
Board and its decisions, nothing is certain, Eddie.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
As eve found that this month, didn't we our witnesses
have been done by crash in Cities West overnight that
saw a car roll onto its roof. It happened around
four o'clock on Trafounder streading Glenfield. Nobody was seriously hurt
in this crash. Amazingly two part cars were damaged, though
is the collision happened at really low speed. A new
underwater operation Adelaide's beaches has shone new light on the

(04:32):
devastating impacts of the algre bloom threatening much of the coastline.
It's going to have to Hated Nelson in Adelaide. This
is a huge issue there.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Haten.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
How many beaches are now in the firing line?

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Yeah, according to research is twelve metro beaches, but many
other in regional areas like the York's Peninsula where which
would be packed with holiday makas the past week four
school holidays. They say that those numbers are down potentially
as a result of the algo bloom hitting this area.
We've known about it for months, this bacteria soup which
has been lingering off the coast, which has seen lots

(05:05):
of dead sea creatures washing up dolphins, seals, plenty of sharks,
schools of fish and squid, but now only we realizing
the devastating impacts of it. This imaging equipment sent underwater
by authorities showing how the algae has basically taken over underwater.
The concern is also for recreational and commercial fishermen because

(05:26):
at this stage they say that sales are tackle shops
are down forty percent and there are two at the
moment that are likely to close. There is no concern
for areas in the west and southeast of the state
where a lot of the commercial fishing has done, but
certainly for locals around here. They're hoping that the federal
government can declare this a natural disasters they can unlock
some of that funding to keep their businesses afloat Eddie.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Thank you Hayden.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
We'll speaking of water quality, Melbournian is a one step
closer to taking a dip in the Yarra after fresh
calls to make the river safe for swimming. Let's golide
that a Teagan doling in Melbourne tag and you pack
the togs this morning?

Speaker 7 (06:01):
Absolutely not Eddie, because that's a question would you really
want to swim in the era?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
I'm a very strong no, but look a lot of
people do.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
So.

Speaker 7 (06:08):
The arrow runs through obviously the CBD here in South
Bank and there's been a long going campaign as to
trying to make it swimble and now the Lord Mayor
Nick Rees says that's a big priority of the councils
and that they're hoping to do it in the next
twenty five years, so by twenty fifty. But a big
cleanup is going to be needed because of the rubbish
that is in there and the things that you see
pulled out of there, not just aut but the store

(06:30):
mortar that comes down, and also the safety because we
see a lot of rollers in there, a lot of
boats too, and obviously this is all on the back
of the river sen Over in Paris finally been open
to swimmers after a century. But Eddie, that costs two
point five billion dollars to clean up, and I think
victorians here will perhaps prefer a lot of that money
to go on things like roads or even maybe our
frontline workers go.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
On to Pittowin this morning. We'd love to see it,
thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
A Gold Coast suburb is vowing to outgrow what's currently
classified as a CBD and take the crown. Let's go
on to Georgia. Coosti on the Gold Coast. Okay, So Georgia.
There's some debate this morning about where the heart of
the Goldie really is.

Speaker 8 (07:09):
Yeah, Ani, it's mostly a debate between the two local
councilors of each suburb because ultimately they want to see
the most funding and development put in their areas. Where
we are this morning at Southport, it has always been
the CBD of the Gold Coast. It's a very central location,
has a lot of office space, and it has always
been that way. However, there is another councilor for Rabina

(07:31):
and Varsity Lakes who believes his division should be labeled
the new CBD. He says it's because those suburbs have
the most office spaces, most commercial office spaces, two train
stations are tafe, and just so much development. They actually
estimate that by twenty to fifty that particular suburb but
will have a workforce of a whopping forty thousand people

(07:51):
and a population of ninety two thousand, So a lot
of growth in that area. But that can also be
said for most suburbs of the Gold Coast. Will have
some chatter some people this morning to see what they think.
But I guess in a time where most people work
from home anyway, it doesn't matter that much.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
We'll find out.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, I thought the Pacific I thought Pacific Fair was
the center of the universe.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Here in the Gold Coast. Thank you Georgia.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Well to Arizona and Arizonian police officers from Arizona, we
might go with that have gone above and beyond their
call of duty delivering a pizza to us destination after
arresting delivery driver. Officers from the Tempe, Arizona Police Department
arrested the grab hub driver in a traffic stop. I
wanted to make sure the pepperoni pizza arrived still warm,

(08:36):
and a look when the recipient's face priceless little bit confused,
later equipping that she should have offered the pizza to
the officers.
