Speaker 1 (00:03):
Good morning. We start with that major breaking news overseas,
and in an escalation of its war against Tamas, Israel
has launched strikes against the terror group's leaders in Qatar's
capital of Doha. That's your live US correspondent Rob Scott, Rob,
this is an extraordinary attack. How has the world responded?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Or Eddie?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
A mixture of shock and condemnation. Really, After these explosions
rang out at Hamas's residential headquarters in the Diplomatic quarter
of Doha, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin netanyahuo describing it
as a surgical, precision strike. But this is really an
assassination attempt, an attempt to take out Hamas's top political

leadership group as it met to discuss the latest peace
proposal put forward for Gaza by the United States. Hamas
says that six people were killed in these strikes, but
all of its leadership groups survived, and that includes its
Gaza chief, Khalil al Haigher. Now, the US military says
it was informed ahead of these strikes and then passed

on that warning to the Katari officials. But Donald Trump
is clearly not happy this has taken place. He's described
it as an unfortunate incident, but also somehow hopes it
presents a new opportunity for peace in the Middle East.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation and close ally
of the United States that is working very hard in
bravely taking risks with us to broker peace does not
advance Israel or America's goals. However, eliminating Hamas who have
profited off the misery of those living in Gaza is
a worthy goal.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
It really is a stunning escalation in tensions across the
Middle East, just as Israel orders one million people to
leave Gaza City ahead of its latest expanded military offensive
happening any day now. Eddie, Thank you rob.
