Speaker 1 (00:03):
Good morning and breaking news this wanting US President Donald
Trump is demanding Iran's unconditional surrender as explosions rock Tehran
and missiles hit Israel for a fifth straight day. Citizens
in both countries now living in fear, with many attempting
to flee as the conflict escalates. That was the scene
in Tehran last night. A team of reporters is keeping

(00:25):
across the developing situation. First Life to US correspondent Marley
Hogan in Washington. Maley, Donald Trump has issued an ominous
warning to Iran's supreme leader.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
What did he have to say?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Eddie? Good morning, It's understood the US.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Oh, we seem to be having some issues there with
Marley's or Jacqueline Robson and Tel Aviv, Jackie, the city's
on edges and ran launches a new volley of missiles.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
What's happening there?

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Yes, certainly on edge, Eddie.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
We know that there are a number of tax happening
in the north of the country right now. But we
two here in Tel Aviv suffered our own experience of
the sirens. It was shortly after we arrived that we
heard that alarm system go off and we had to
move down into the lower level of the hotel that
we're staying in. There were a number of guests that
were moving calmly towards the bunker. They've done this many

(01:21):
times before over the past few days. There are in
all sorts of dress too, because this happens unexpectedly. There
were people in their swimwhear, people brought down half drunk
glasses of wine. There were people with their dogs. There
were babies and children in their thongs that have just
come up from the beach. We essentially got a ten
minute window from a text message on our phone to

(01:42):
then a siren in the hotel, and then the countdown
begins as this attack looms.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
This is what the sirens sound like. Now.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
There were ten Iranian missiles fired during that attack.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
All were intercepted.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
But I've been speaking to local Israelis who say that
this is a completely different feeling to what they felt
during the October seven Hermas attack, and that's because they
had a lot of confidence the Iron Dome could hold
up against short range rockets, but the Iranian missiles are
completely different.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
They're extremely powerful.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
So there's two different types of air defense systems that
are triggered. David sling and also Arrow three, which is
able to intercept those missiles, and we are seeing less
and less of those missiles come over from Iran. The
IDF says they've been able to take out forty percent
of Iran's ballistic missile launchers. It's unclear if that's the

(02:47):
reason why we're seeing less of those missiles headed towards Israel.
We know that Israel is launching a number of attacks
on Tehran this evening, Eddie. We have to wait and
see what comes next.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
That's the situation there in the Middle East. Let's go
back to Maley, Hogan and Washington, DC. Mighty take us
through that ominous warning to Iran Supreme leader from Donald Trump.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yeah, Eddie, good morning.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Well US President Donald Trump is It's understood. He is
right now in the situation room, meeting with his top
national security advisors, potentially weighing the most consequential decision of
his presidency to date. Will the United States join Israel
in its bombing campaign against Iran or will it stay
out of it. There has been growing evidence that the
US is at least considering deepening its involvement in this conflict.

(03:35):
Donald Trump has been posting on social media, and that's
where he's issued that warning to Iran Supreme Leader, saying
that we know exactly where the so called Supreme Leader
is hiding. He is an easy target, but he's safe there.
We are not going to take him out in brackets kill.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
At least for now. Our patients is wearing thin.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
US President Donald Trump abruptly left the G seven overnight
to return here to Washington, DC and address this escalating
tensions in the Middle East.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
He did briefly speak with.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Reporters from Air Force One, and he said he's looking
for more than a ceasefire.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Take a listen, what specifically.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Is better than a ceasfire? What are you looking for here?
And then a real end? No, and there's something that
would be promitive or or giving up entirely. The cities
have been blown to pieces and lost a lot of people.
They should have done the deal.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
I told him, do the deal.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
US President Donald Trump has long said he does not
want the United States involved in foreign wars, but he's
also said Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. But
just as short as yesterday, he had expressed hope that
a deal could be reached to end this conflict. We'll
have to wait to see what comes from that meeting.
In the situation room, Eddie.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Man, there's a lot of wording deciding what's happened next
is in there. Thank you so much, ma Ley Hogan
there in Washington.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
D C.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Jahie Robson in Tel Aviv in Israel. The government won't.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Be drawn on whether Australia should have been given more
notice about Donald Trump's early exit from the G seven
summit in Canada. The federal opposition has called it a
failure of diplomacy that Arbonezi failed to speak with President
Trump before he abruptly left the meeting in Canada to
return to the US.

Speaker 7 (05:20):
In this instance, when we see the very concerning security
situation in the Middle East, it's understandable it's not especially
surprising that President Trump's headed back to.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
The White House. Multiple other leaders, including Ukraine's Vladimir Zelenski
and India's Nuendromodi, were also unable to speak with Trump
before he left back.

dramatic way. Three cars have been set on fire outside
a tobacco store in Tullamarine, sparking in major emergency response.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
The arsonists are right now on the run. It's understood
they were not.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Able to get into the store, but still left behind
a major mess.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
The fire was put out before one.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
This morning and anyone with information is being urged to
contact police. Phoebe Bishop's family has spoken out after DNA
tests confirmed remains found in Bushland are those of the
seventeen year old. Phoebe's family have thanked police in the
community for searching for her. They're now asking for privacy
as they grieve their loss. The Queensland teenagers' housemates are

(06:28):
accused of her murder and police are still urging anyone
who spotted a gray Yundai IX thirty five between May
fifteen and May eighteen in the Greater Jingin area to
get in touch. CCTV has captured the terrifying moment two
masked gunmen stormed a Western City kebab shop, opening fire.

(06:48):
Their target was Samajan Azari, a well known gangland figure
with links to the Alamedine crime clan. The gunman fled
in a black Audi which was found burnt out later
in Harris Park. This is the third attempt on Azari's life.
Previously escaping two other shootings in Brighton, Lessans and Granville.
Azari also avoided injury on Friday, after gunman.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Was spotted in Ross's Rose Hill.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Two others were hit in Auburn, including an innocent employee.

Speaker 6 (07:18):
I'll see this too.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
I was running in like shooting at the customers, so
all of a sudden des like trying to defend themselves
with the chair. The government is now reviewing the decision
to grant Azari Bayo last month, after the courts were
warned of more bloodshed. Boeing's Ghost Bat drone is set
