Speaker 1 (00:03):
Good morning, Straight to our breaking news this morning. An
outback killer, Bradley John Murdoch has died aged sixty seven,
twenty four years after killing British backpacker Peter Falconio. Falconio
and girlfriend Juanne Lees were flagged down by Murdoch on
the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory in two thousand
and one. That's where Murdoch shot Falconio in the head.

(00:25):
Juanne Lees managed to escape. Murdoch had been serving a
life sentence for the murder, but has remained tight lipped
on the location of Falconio's body, which has never been found.
Murdoch was diagnosed with throat cancer in twenty nineteen. The
husband of a prominent Melbourne businesswoman has been found dead
at their shared home on the Sunshine Coast, so Dravcorp

Bilich was stabbed twice, his body found by neighbour. His wife,
gree Tunti, was in Melbourne running her skincare clinic at
the time and raised concerns when she wasn't able to

It comes as a UN human rights spokesperson said at
least one hundred and thirty nine Ukrainian civilians have been

(01:31):
killed this month for nearly eight hundred injured amid intense
missile and drone strikes launched by Russia. It follows a
major threat against Russia by US President Donald Trump, giving
Vladimir Putin fifty days to strike a peace deal or
risk huge tariffs. The attack also follows reports of a
recent conversation between the US President and Ukrainian President Vladimizelenski

(01:55):
over military tactics. Live to Rob Scott in Los Angeles, Rob,
what was discussed.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Well, Odie, This is that phone conversation between Donald Trump
and Vladimir Zelenski back on the fourth of July, and
according to multiple reports, Donald Trump asked mister Zelenski whether
Ukraine could strike deep into Russian territory if Washington provided
the weapons, so hitting places like Saint Petersburg and Moscow,
and asked today whether he thought that was a good idea,

(02:21):
Donald Trump said no, he did not believe that Ukraine
should be hitting those big population centers. Of course, this
all comes just the day after Donald Trump made that
announcement that unless Vladimir Putin signs a piece deal within
fifty days or then he would be slapping major tariffs
on Russia that Moscow has shrugged off, describing it as
a theatrical ultimatum that would do nothing except encourage Ukraine

(02:45):
to keep fighting.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
The mall.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Now he shouldn't target Moscow.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Now, look you to do.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
That, President.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Why are you giving the addition of games to gard
Few again?

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Oh, I don't think fifty days is very long.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
And there's the major changes brewing inside Ukraine's government with
the Prime Minister resigning today, possibly moving to become the

Yeddie, thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Rob An elderly mother and son have been found dead

a formal welcome for the Australian Prime Minister in Beijing's
Great Hall of the People. Mister Albernizi given the welcome.
He also there held three critical meetings yesterday, one with
the Chairman of the National People's Congress another with Premier
Li Chian, and of course the third earliest meeting was

(04:47):
with the President Shi Jinping, a revealing meeting, as it
turns out. First on the issue of that circumnavigation of
Australia by those Chinese warships earlier this year. Minister raised
the issue, but it appears the President gave no quarter
on the matter.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
President she said that China engaged in exercises just as
Australia engages in exercises.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Other contentious issues raised, though as it turns out, the
Prime Minister concedes he did not raise the issue of
the control by a Chinese company of the strategic port
of Darwin as well. Mister Albernizi has agreed to a
review of the China Australia Free Trade Agreement. It's not
yet clear just where that might take the agreement and

(05:37):
how it might be expanded. Here in Beijing, though the
Prime Minister will be claiming a warm welcome from the
Chinese people.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Thank you, Tim, I mean I'm Journalists troubling with the

drawing operation will commence in Adelaide today over the fast
growing algil bloom crisis. These two border collies are exposed
at the toxins on their beach walk twenty four hours later,
too sick to even walk. Residents are now warned to
keep their pets off the beach for now.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Don't play Russian roulette with this because the toxins that
the thing produces can have some significant effects on your animals.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
The underwater operation will monitor eight locations, hoping to find
out when the ecosystem will recover. An alarming number of
footy player agents have revealed gambling is a huge problem

life balance and having a lot of money at a
young age. Rescue German backpacker Carolina Vilga has returned to
social media after her long ordeal lost in the Wa outpack.
The twenty six year old posted photos from her hospital
bed surrounded by piles of flood food rather and flowers.

(07:20):
Flood is not what she needs, She revealed she lost
twelve kilograms while she was missing for almost two weeks
in WA's remote wheat Belt after crushing her van. She
thanked the German consulate for all the yummy treats we'll checking.
Today's weather now Brisbane sunny in twenty four degrees, Sydney
sonny in top of eighteen. Canberra morning frost, mostly sunny

(07:42):
fifteen degrees. Hobart a shower too and twelve. Adelaide also
showers at sixteen and per showers as well, but they're
clearing eighteen degrees
