Good morning, Straight to our breaking news this morning, and
metal star Ozzy Osbourne has died after years battling ill health.
Is death coming just weeks after a farewell concert in
the UK with his Black Sabbath bandmates. Let's go Live
to you correspondent Jacqueline Robson, Jackie, he was such a character,
wasn't he? In leaves behind an incredible musical.

Legacy, Eddie, What a legacy it was, the Prince of Darkness,
a pioneer for heavy metal with his band Black Sabbath,
known for his hell raising rock star days and most
infamously that tale of binding the head off of that
on stage at a concert. In a statement issue just
moments ago, his family said, it is with more sadness

(00:46):
than words can convey that our beloved Ozzie Osborne has
passed away this morning. He was with family and surrounded
by love. The seventy six year old had Parkinson's disease
and suffered other health problems in recent years. That Villa
par gig with Black Sabbath earlier this year seen as
his perfect farewell hits including Iron Man, Paranoid Warpigs, Crazy Train,

(01:08):

pivot to a different type of fame in the noughties
with the MTV reality show The Osborne's That's where his
chaotic rock star lifestyle really shone through.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
With his family living in.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Los Angeles, Ozzie Osborne is in halls of fame both
here in the UK and the US. He has a
star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. He won five Grammys
off twelve nominations, a number of other honors and he
is the kind of unique figure that will leave that
lasting legacy and image on the music industry.

that Villa Park gig so it could have that proper farewell,
isn't it, Jackie. Some further tributes coming up during Sunrise

Emergency crews accord to Sylvania six o'clock to find the

(02:01):
fifteen year old in the water and tragically he couldn't
be revived on the scene.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
At this stage, it would appear that the jet ski
has collided with an object or an obstacle in the
water which has then thrown these two. The boy who
sustained the injuries had a seven arm which he's now
being conveyed to Citney Children's Hospital for further treatment.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Well.

Speaker 1 (02:27):

he is fighting for life. This morning, Blase set up

seventy year old during a failed carjacking. The teenager will
be sentenced in early November for the twenty twenty four murder,

(03:24):
but adult crime adult time laws won't apply in Violeen's
case as they only came into effect this year. Violeen
White's death partly sparked the push for youths to be
sentenced as adults. Detectives building a case against accused pedophiles
Joshua Brown and Michael Simon Wilson have been granted extra

(03:46):
time by the judge to enable them to gather more evidence.
Joshua Brown has been hit with seventy three charges for
alleged crimes against children under.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
His care, with more charges possible.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Thirty six year old Michael Simon Wilson has also been
charged with forty five offences for alleged crimes against children
and animals. Meantime, there's growing fear and objection to putting
security cameras in childcare centers following the recent spate of abuse.
As Chris Raison reports, cyber experts are warning CCTV can

(04:18):
be easily hacked and good to open the door to
more sex offenders.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
After months of horrific childcare scandals, involving abuse and the
alleged pedophilia of Joshua Dale Brown.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Charged with seventy child sex offenses.

Speaker 5 (04:35):

each of these dots is a camera yep. In just
a few keystrokes, cyber expert Ahmed Khanji shows us just
how many security cameras are connected online in Sydney and
in Melbourne.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
We have over two million connected online devices just in
one search.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
And most with no security whatsoever.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I would say more than ninety five five percent would
be vulnerable to a ninety.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Forgetting or unable to apply passwords, making it as easy
to get inside each of these cameras as it is illegal.
Kanji demonstrates on cameras overseas, we're.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Looking at you know, driveways, we're looking at people's yards.

Speaker 5 (05:18):
He says, CCTV in childcare would be just as vulnerable,
including by child sex offenders.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
It horrifies me. An homicybersecurity professional.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
Governments and industry are considering CCTV for seventeen thousand centers nationwide,
but from one family at the center of the nightmare.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
If that ends up in the wrong hands, that's disastrous.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Melody Glaister's six year old daughter at one time in
Brown's care, forced to have checks for sexually transmitted diseases.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
CCTV cameras are not going to fix that problem.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
The whole thing is just broken.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
The Union questions cameras too.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
That is thousands of hours of filming of children, and
how do we keep that.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Safe once increased staff training and checks. But already hundreds
of childcare centers are rushing into CCTV with warnings that
could be a costly mistake.

Is just a recipe for disaster.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Chris Reason seven News.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Let's bring in political reporter Josh Martin and cambridgesh morning
to you. Our politicians will soon introduce sweeping changes to
reform the childcare sector.

Speaker 6 (06:24):
Warning Eddie, Yeah, that's right. The Obeneasy government has brought
this forwarder It will rush a bill into Parliament this
morning that will cut the federal government's childcare subsidy funding
for centers repeatedly failing safety requirements for children. Questions remain
though about what it would take for a center to
lose their funding. Education Minister Jason Klair says he doesn't
want to see funding removed from childcare centers and the

(06:47):
legislation will act as an encouragement for centers to improve standards.
Opposition leader Susan Lee says this is a crisis and
wants to see the laws past. The Greens, who have
the balance of power in the Senate Eddie, are calling
for a national watchdog to be put in place, all
sides agreeing though that safety of children needs to be
put ahead of profit.
