Speaker 1 (00:03):
Good morning, Straight to breaking news this morning, and Donald
Trump is right now holding high stakes talks with Ukrainian
President Vladimir Lensky and European leaders at the White House.
As we look at a live shot of Washington, DC
this morning, the US President pushing for a deal with
Russia to end the war, lived US correspondent Marley Hogan,
who's there for a smiley. President Trump's last meeting there

(00:25):
with Zelenski was explosive. What was the tone like today
in the Oval Office?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Eddie, Good morning. Well, right from the beginning, the tone
was very different. President Zelenski arrived here in the White
House and he wasn't wearing his usual military style outfit. Instead,
he had a daft suit on which the US President
did talk about and praise and right at the beginning
of their sit down meeting in the Oval Office, where
cameras were allowed in, President Zelenski did heat praise on

(00:55):
US President Donald Trump, thanking him for his efforts to
try and end this war. We know that President Zelenski
has been talking with his European allies before this meeting,
and they've been coaching him in a way of sorts,
trying to help him better deal with the US president
in these kinds of situations. And the other key difference
is that team of European leaders who are here in

(01:18):
the White House to back Zelensky and show European force
as well. Now, high on the agenda is going to
be the discussion of territory, but also security guarantees. When
President Zelenski was asked what kind of US security guarantees
he would be looking for, his answer was everything. This

(01:39):
is what Donald Trump had to say about it.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
We're meeting with seven Greek leaders of Greek countries also
and we'll be talking about that. They'll all be involved,
but there'll be a lot of there'll be a lot
of help when it comes to security, there's going to
be a lot of help. It's going to be good.
They are first line of defense because they're there Europe,
but we're going to help them out also, we'll be involved.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
We're really in the early process of this crucial day.
President Zolenski and President Trump first did that public meeting
in the Oval Office, then they had a closed door meeting,
and they will go into a third meeting with those
other European leaders as well u as President Donald Trump
says that he spoke indirectly to President Putin before these conversations,

(02:29):
and that he will call him up directly after it,
and that he is still trying to organize a trilateral
meeting between Zlenski, Trump and Putin.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Okay, we can see how busy it is there at
the White House today, a big historic day. We'll come
back to you soon there, Marley, Thank you pliss. The
city's west have found a torch Mustang matching the description
of the car used in the shooting of two men
outside at Inner West Pub. The car was found up
in flames at Ridlemere overnight. It comes little more than
twenty four hours after thirty nine year old Gilbert Sheino

(02:59):
shot dead and thirty one year old Maradonna Yalder was
seriously wounded in the attack.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
At Forest Lodge.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Police believe mister Yalder has links to cities Underworld and
was recently warned by police that his life was in danger.
We can show you dramatic new video this morning of
the moment five teens being chased by police came to
a crashing stop in Brisbane's northeast. Dash cam shows them
colliding with two other cars at the intersection of Manningham

(03:27):
and Bulleene Roads in Bollen. Police alleged they were armed
with baschettes and were in the middle of a spree
of armed robberies.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
All five boys were.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Rested nearby and have since been charged, the youngest of
them just fourteen years old.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Perth police are.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Hunting for the parents of a young baby found dead
in a storm water drained north of the city. Tradees
found the body of the child, believed to be just
days old, at Alexander Heights yesterday. Dozens of detectives swarmed
the scene, saw knocking nearby properties and questioning residents living
near where the baby was found. Anyone with information is

(04:08):
urged to contact crime stoppers. A third legal lawsuit has
been brought against Outback Wrangler star Matt Wright, with the
Aviation Authority launching a cross claim over potential compensation after
the fatal helicopter crash that killed Wright's co star Chris Wilson.
Kassa launched the legal fight after mister Wilson's widow, Daniel,

(04:30):
launched a civil suit seeking compensation for her husband's death.
The authority aims to make right foot the bill if
any damages are awarded to mister Wilson's wife following his
death to Developing News Now Australia in Israel's foreign ministers
have traded blows of a night as diplomatic tensions of
a Palestine heat up.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
My dear correspondent Jaqueline Robson Jackie.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
It was sparked by the cancelation of a high profile
Israeli's visa.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Eddie.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
This tit for tat really centers around far right politician
Simka Wrotham, who had his visa canceled last minute he
was due to go on an Australian speaking tour. He's
best known for comments around Ghars and children, describing them
as the enemy and denying that they were dying of hunger.
It's prompted Israel's Foreign minister to accuse the Australian government

(05:22):
of fueling anti Semitism, describing it as shameful, then revoking
the visas of Australian representatives of the Palestinian authority. He
also hit out at Australia's decision to recognize Palestinian statehood.
Now Penny Wong has described this as an unjustified reaction
that the Netnyahu government is isolating Israel and undermining efforts

(05:47):
for peace, doubling down on a two state solution to
Ghana peace. All of this just as Hermas appears to
have agreed to a ceasefire. The framework is believed to
be centered around freeing half of fifty hostages over two
days during a sixty day true Benjamin Etna, who is
yet to respond directly, but Eddie he has said that

(06:09):
this looks like her Mass is under intense pressure to
end the war.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Thank you, Jackie.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
A Melbourne man is considering legal action this morning after
bayside salon owner allegedly refused to give him a haircut
after learning he was from Israel. It sparked a dramatic
protest outside the salon and a plae takedown after the
man crashed the rally.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
When I left you, he called me a baby keller
and she shout at it. And we are here today
because obviously we don't want it to open to anyone. Now.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
He'd ask you why you kicked someone out when you
found out that were Israeli?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Why did you give her a baby keller? Cough coff.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
It starts like this, little bits of discrimination and if
you don't stamp on it, it will grow and fester.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
The penalty under anti discrimination laws is up to one
hundred thousand dollars. Protesters are pushing ahead with the plan
to shut down the story Bridge this weekend. The Justice
for Palestine group remained defiant despite police.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Rejecting their bid for approval.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Mediation in Brisbane's Magistrate's Court between the activists and the
QPS failed to come.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
To a resolution at this stage.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
The protest is still scheduled to go ahead on Sunday afternoon,
blocking all lanes of.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
The busy Bridge.

Speaker 1 (07:28):

He had just.

Speaker 2 (08:38):

blow a national Carrier illegally sacked more than eighteen hundred
workers at the height of the pandemic. Just as Michael
Lee calling a penalty a wake up call for Corporate Australia.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
To deprive someone of work illegally is to deprive somewhat
of an aspect of their human dignity, and this is
not a sway simply by mouthing expressions of regret.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
The court has awarded fifty million dollars to the Transport Workers' Union,
with the remaining forty million dollars to be allocated at
a later hearing. Alarming NAP Plan figures revealed a crisis
