Baby born in car with help of police

The parents of a baby boy born in a car outside a police station have returned to their makeshift delivery room to say thanks to the officers who helped. There were no midwives or medical equipment when baby Blake decided it was time.

Speeding into a police station car Parker. Frantic father calls
out two officers for help.

He just screamed at us, my wife's having a baby.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Nathaniel and Julie Pedler were on their way to hospital,
but baby wouldn't wait.

All of a sudden, it just hit Wham.

Got to the stage where it was a lot more.

We got this with calm voices and steady hands. Constables
Jacob Panissi and Philip Stigner acted fast. When baby Blake
was born purple and not breathing.

Dad and I saw the cord wrapped around his neck,
and so I got him to roll towards me. So
I started unwrapping the cord from around Bub's neck. Since
we started doing that, baby started screaming, and we're pretty
well happy days from mere I relief.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Were crying, Yeah, baby's crying. On one line were paramedics.
On another was big sister Heidi keeping Nana in form.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
I said to Heidi, make sure you tell mommy she's
got to breathe. She got a breath, Mum, you gotta breathe.

Hate it did so very well.

On the day she did.

She was so quiet, I didn't even know.
