The heartbroken family of a woman who drowned while fishing at Streaky Bay says she died a hero. Elizabeth Peters was trying to save her friend's life when both women were swept away at a treacherous stretch of coastline.

Elizabeth Peters and Ada Hunt, two close friends who shared
a passion for fishing and used it to help provide
for their loved ones.

We adored her her infectious smile, always passive outlook.

In Live yesterday morning, the pair was casting lines from
the shore at Backbeach near Streaky Bay when sixty five
year old Ada got pulled in and sixty seven year
old Elizabeth didn't hesitate to go after her.

just went there to save her friend. And I wish
that she could have made it back.

there to visit Ada, who leaves behind a loving husband.

Elizabeth Peter's family say she would talk about Streaky Bay
all the time, and their biggest regret now is never
coming with her to this place that she loved so much.

She loves Streaky Bay. That's the place, you know, where
she thrived doing fishing with her husband and friends. She
embraced the Australian way of life.
