Desperate parents are clinging to hope their children are still alive after a 'once in a century' flash flood swept through central Texas, while the search for survivors continues, so does rising anger over the lack of warning.

A desperate father searching for his little girl.

Bret Camnistic looking for our kids, and we're looking for
places that they're going to potentially be alive.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
His child among twenty seven washed away when the Guadalupe
River burst its banks and swept through their summer camp.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
There was nothing short of horrific to see what those
young children went through.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
At least five were killed. Ten are still missing.
Speaker 5 (00:30):
Those babies, those dabies. If it was my babies, I
don't want somebody looking.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
So that's what torrential rain sparking flash flooding that's claimed
more than eighty lives so far, including Julian Ryan, who
died after injuring himself trying to save his family.

He looked at me in the cas and my mother
in law and he was sorry, I'm not going to
make it. I love y'all.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Across Central Texas, the search for survivors goes on.
Speaker 5 (00:58):
There's no horror priority forse than finding those children.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
More than eight hundred and fifty have been saved, some
with harrowing stories of escape.

We have bunk beds in our cabins and it was
going up to the top bunk and we had one choice,
and we had to swim out of our cabins.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Questions now about whether Donald Trump's doge cuts hit the
National Weather Service, impacting warnings.

This is one hundred year catastrophe. This was the thing
that happened in seconds. Nobody expected it.
