Speaker 1 (00:04):
An suv left a crumpled wreck after rolling down a driveway,
across the road and over a cliff, plunging forty meters
onto the rocks below.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
That's insane, insane, it's hopefully obviously everyone's okay. That's a
crazy place to live. Obviously being right here scary stuff.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's in a lot of shot. At the time, I
was glad that nine was injured or gotten away of
the car when it went over the cliff.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Marcus Mitchell had just got out of his mother's cherry.
He claims he put the handbrake on, but it had
vanished by the time he returned.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I had left it running after a jump started and
gone inside to get a last minute thing for mum
before going up to the shops, and sure enough, when
I came down, the car was gone.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Marcus claims the suv had issues since his mother bought
it seven months ago.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
I hadn't driven that car yet because I thought it
was too complicate it.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
The Mitchells have complained of the Marion Council about this
fencing along the esplanade. They claim it's inadequate to stop
a car or anything else going over the cliff. They
wanted replaced with something stronger.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Some kind of ballard or something that would or arm
co or some kind of fencing that would stop people
being able to go over the cliff so easily.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
The Mitchells are hoping their insurance will replace the SUV
and pay for a crane big enough to hoist the
car back onto dry land. Peter Cordecott, seven News
