Speaker 3 (00:31):
Why, yes, we'll get to that. Yeah, I'm well, how
are you so? You feel refreshed?

Speaker 4 (00:39):
You look great?

Speaker 5 (00:40):
Yeah, yeah, it's been a couple of days off detail.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Yeah, Crown Mane it was beautiful.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Nice, it was beautiful.

Speaker 6 (00:47):
Did you binge anything on the on the telly or
just have you know I get three weeks.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
Off well before that, yeah, yeah, from that point it
was a bit over TV at the moment.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Now yeah, okay, yeah, when you get the buy there,
when you get four days five days on four days,
are you allowed to eat something you're not normally allowed
to eat?

Speaker 3 (01:09):
You get a little bro the other song, Yeah you can.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
I think it's more that you're able to sort of
have a beer. Yeah, okay, relax a bit more or
you know, hav an ue wine and have a nice
dinner and relax a bit more.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
You a normal pos like a normal person in winter.

Speaker 6 (01:23):
It's yeah enough, all right, Well, straight back into it.
Essendon at Marvel Stadium on Sunday early for US eleven
a m per time is bounced down. The Eagles almost
beat Essendon earlier where our jackets were in hand ready
to wave. But the and the Bombers have been in
pretty good form since they're now fourth on the AFL Ladder,

(01:47):
so they're going, well, it's it's going to be a
tough one.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
Yeah, it is, it is, and we were close, well
close last time. We had a few injuries as well
that made the bench quite short as well.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
That on myself and you did yeah think about.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
No comment, no, but yeah that's I think we end
up having two on the bench the last quarter, so
that and we were one of them could sit down.
We were starting to come home exactly exactly. So I
just pictured that.

Speaker 6 (02:18):
That was my way of saying, what you did without
you get back actually know, but I pitched it and
just had a little believe that that no comment.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yes exactly, but it's going to be a tough game.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Yeah, and we're going over there hopefully to put up
best foot forward. We've had two games that we should
have won and unfortunately fell short. So there's some things
that we've addressed over the over the past couple of
days that we want to get better at, and you
know we're going to try and implement that on against
this and coming this week.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Man, it's something with teams are so inconsistent right now. Yeah,
the ladder is so close, but the bombs are one
of those sides.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Yeah, it just feels like such an even competition at
the moment in terms of any team on their day
you can win it. Yes, and yeah, I guess that
for a fair that makes things exciting as well. But
for players especially you know myself, it feels like no
matter when or if you rock up in the right
frame of mind, you can win any game.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
I feel like it's turning into the year of the behind.
That a lot of teams kicking a lot of points
instead of goals and Essendon Essendon is one of them.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
So it's an efficiency game, isn't it. And the Eagles
have done it a few times too, Yeah, we have.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
So is that a week spot you might go after
with them or I might do the same to you.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, yeah, it's more.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
I feel like it's more an efficiency game because the
game is so quick and brutal at the moment that, yes,
you're going to make the most and especially with momentum swings,
you just got to make the most of your chances
when you get them. If you don't capitalize then obviously
you know these these momentum swings and that in games
they're so pivotal, pivotal, and that you want to capitalize
on them because as I said that, the teams in

(03:59):
the competition so easy that any given day, teams can
jump on top and get the better of you. So
you want to make the most of it while you
get it and while you feel like you're running hot
with the ball. But also you want to try and
nullify as quick as possible, you know, when the other
team gets on that runner. So if we can be efficient,
which we weren't against North on the weekend, then I think,

(04:20):
you know, we'll be right up there.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Speaking of North, mate, there's eight goals to two or
something against Collingwood on the weekend. Six goals you're not
safe in modern foty, or even nine goals for that matter,
because they lost.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, well, not against the reigning premieres.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Yeah, they came home with pretty credit to Collingwood.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Good unbelievable.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
So Harley Read is set to miss another week to
that's a suspension. But how likely is Tim Kelly to
return this week?

Speaker 5 (04:48):
I have TK trains on Thursday and then he should
be Yeah, he should be okay.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
So that's yeah, that will be the test for.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
And the one everyone wants to know about.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Yeah, is the same in the same boat. There'll be
a test on Thursday. If they both get through, then
all good.

Speaker 6 (05:05):
So he could come straight back in no little stint
in the waffle to freezing back.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
He's yep, I think so getting him back. From what
I've been told, it's a lot of people happy with
the years.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Yeah, but from what I've been told, he's put in
a lot of work.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
So yeah, yeah, we know he's a good He's still
a young bloke. He's in good Man, he's co captain
of the club. But how's he been I mean, you've
spent plenty of time in rehab the last couple of years,
you've been back more this year. How's has he been
around the club?

Speaker 3 (05:28):
He's been pretty good.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Yeah, I think early days the diagnosis wasn't good, and
I think he thought that that was his season sort
of gone.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
But he got some good news a while back.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
And then from that point on he's just been charging
through rehab, which has been good. So energy around the
football club and vibes and just his leadership as well
has been outstanding. So especially for a young team to
have a player of his caliber that can articulate in
a very good way for others to understand that, Yeah,
that's that's rare.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah, because he's like Brendan Coxett free they both got
injured in Round one.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
It's a pretty horrible way to start the season.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, it is. Yeah, Yeah, So yeah, he was pretty
upset about it.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
And obviously I feel like Oscar as much as he
is a very good articulator and he's a very good leader,
he likes to lead by actions as well, and he
likes to be out there. So yeah, knowing that he's
a close I'm sure he's excited as hell all right.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
Over the last week, there's been more trade rumors and
the one most talked about is you. Right around the country,
you are being talked about North Melbourne said said to
offer you a big deal. But I everyone I hear
talk about it. You know, all the speculators, all the

(06:43):
speculators seem to be saying Elliott's not going to go anywhere.
Can you share any sort of update.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
There's just been more communication from West Coast, which is good. Okay,
so there's a lot more open communication which hopefully in
the coming weeks that you know, we can to an
agreement and look in something.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
So because it does feel like the dialogue has changed
in the last forty eight hours or so.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Yeah, it has, it has a bit, which for a
bit there I was getting a little bit worried. But yeah, yeah, yeah, no,
it's it's open now and yeah, hopefully we can come
to an agreement.

Speaker 6 (07:14):
Well, one thing I've taken from the speculators is they
all seem to be in agreement that you are one
of the most loyal players to play the game of football.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
So that's why they I think they forget and I
left Brisbane.

Speaker 6 (07:28):
I know, but that's funny. They reckon you are so
loyal to West Coast that you won't.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Be going anywhere. I do love the football club, yeah,
I do love West Coast.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Okay, loyal now then, yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
But like all things, you know, you've got to respect yourself.
You got to respect that, you know, yeah, what you
feel that your worth is a player.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Exactly like everything.

Speaker 6 (07:51):
At the end of the day, it is a job.
And sometimes people do change their jobs, absolutely, and it
means that, you know, they move into state for a job,
or they do this for a job, and it's nothing personal.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
No, no, And I think I think people and fans
and supporters are starting to understand that it's it's actually
a business.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
It's more than it's business. Yeah, and it's your life, correct, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
And I think I think a free agency has sort
of changed people's perspectives on that as well. And you know,
players don't have a long sort of career. Generally, the
longest I think it averaged about four years. But you know,
players obviously they you know, they don't have a lot
of time and the money that we sort of make
as well over the course of our career post football,

(08:39):
you're not going to make that might sustained. Correct, Yeah,
I'm so I hope you'll understand that.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
It's also I think they do.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
I think I think people are starting to come around
now yeah, yeah, which is which is really good to
see because it's that.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Old school belief.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
You know when you see another planex player go and
be coach somewhere and they go, oh, where's the loyalty?

Speaker 4 (08:56):
You go, well, they've got a family up.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Food on the table, so yeah, yeah, I think people
start to coming around. Yeah yeah, which is a lot better.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Yeah that's good man, all right.

Speaker 6 (09:04):
Well eleven o'clock Perth Time bounced down for Essendon at
Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
All the best.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, avoids the curse of the buymate because it doesn't
always work.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
They're coming off a buy too, Yeah, considabul Cheers
