Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, it's back on Monday on nine. The block starts
seven point thirty and Shallycraft is back with it. She's
with a snoket morning shall we good morning? Here we
go again for the twentieth time. Ten people have grown
up with this show.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Well, I think there's some contestants on our shrada. We're
even born when we're there.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
You have it all, right, So this year something a
little bit different, heading off to Phillip Island to renovate
what was a resort. How's it work into five holiday homes?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yeah, that's right to what was ten holiday cabins are
going to become, hopefully fingers crossed, five glorious holiday houses, okay,
and then we've got some surprises along the way. Obviously
there's community services there that they can use together when
you're all living down there happily in your holiday home
and become I've got to.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Build them first, right absolutely. Can you tell us a
bit about the teams and if WA represented, of.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Course there is Jesse and Page. They are from Wa.
They're our youngest team. I believe they're planning to get
married at the end of the year. Their fresh face,
they're gorgeous. I don't know what you guys have in
the water over there, but it's extraordinary. They're a beautiful
couple and look, they're really going to put themselves under
the punter and test every little ounce of what they've
(01:26):
got in them and their relationships to get this job done.
But I know they're fired up. I know they're ready
to go.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
It wouldn't be the block if there's not something that
we learn is going to happen a little down the track,
sometimes early in the piece. And this year, the producers
have confirmed that a team does leave, and they leave
not early. And we've heard rumors that it might be
our Perth team, but we shall see. So what I mean, Yes,
(01:56):
rumors are swirling. The producers are confirmed they were forced
to scramb.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
The producers of somebody else's shirt.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Spreading scuttle butt loose lips here shall I mean? That
must have been chaotic. I mean it's not the first
time a team is quick. But before it happened, you know,
like before that even unpacked.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Are those people who didn't suit their Instagram profile?
Speaker 2 (02:21):
That's right, that's right. Try we have a couple of leaves.
No one left. Everybody's threatened, have threatened, even threatened before
and some go for a day or two and have
a little time out and get themselves together, which is
completely understandable. You know, we don't it's not a lockdown,
(02:44):
it's not big Brother. They don't have to stay on
site every day. As we see, they are off shopping,
which that proves a huge challenge in sill A Piland
because they do have to head back to the mainland
for that, which is you know, logistical nightmare do it.
And of course there's some wonderful local stores and shops
down there that they do use as well. But yet look,
(03:06):
they could they could just run.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
They never see them again. Shelley, you should be running
for parliament because you've completely gone around the question. Love it.
Thank you, very very diplomatic. But we can confirm tho
with that.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Keith is not going to be some Dan is stepping
well and trairly up to the four of the form.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
And isn't he Yeah, he is, you know Keith the
block and eight. It wouldn't be a block without him.
So he certainly does come and visit. You've got two
tween aged daughters, you know, and Melbourne is his home.
It's a little bit tricky for him to relocate to
Philip Islands for this series, but yeah, I know we'll
see him again and again for our contestants. Can you
imagine locking up, You've auditioned, you've gone through this whole process,
(03:50):
and then someone says, oh, and you won't make Keith.
So they will definitely have a Keith experience And I
could give you a little inside there. He were petrified. Yeah, yeah, apparently.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, he's pretty grumpy. Yeah. How about the real estate
agent Mrdy Fox, which always makes me thinkured back for
the future because it just gets affus.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
M.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
I'm saying more of money with here.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah, that's right. Neil unfortunately won't be returning to the
show that neither. Yeah, it's staying in Sydney. He's got
a beautiful partner there that. Yeah, but just to travel,
you know, logisically we have to make them different every year.
This one proved a little bit tough for everybody to
get to. Some of our crew relocated down there and
(04:34):
with the island life for a few months, which I
think is awesome. I'm from the beach side regional town
and it was really nice to have everyone sort of
experience that lifestyle. Even though we were working twenty four seven,
but the cows community there on Philip Island was extraordinary.
You know, it's not just penguins and Grand Prix.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
There's a lot going on down in and about the penguins.
Do we see penguins? So you can't go without saying
as well as penguins, I believe we're going to see
Ronnie and Georgia.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
You can't keep running down.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, I think we need to barricade from from the
w A.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Yeah, true, Ronni be right.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
When you get to be a confidence, be a few
familiar faces making little appearances here and there. I believe
Ronny and Georgia are two of them. And also it
is Tom, isn't it the Plumber? I love him.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah, he's back on board.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
And so that means Sarah Jane and their beautiful kids. Yeah,
well yeah, look if he is a block family. I
know it sounds cliche, but there's only a handful, might
be a big handl and a lot of time, a
lot of people who have ever been through this. Yeah period,
So you've spoken about twenty years. Yeah, we bring them
all back.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Absolutely, you've spoken about trades, but what about getting the
gear and getting materials and that too from the islands.
It coursed a bit of a shue because it becomes
very expensive, doesn't it.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah. Look, there's a lot of pre planning and I
think that's where the show does change up every year.
You know, in the city you can duck out and
grab what you want or your trades have easy access
to things. You know, a lot of us who do
live in regional areas find it difficult. So again for
the mad renovators that aren't watching it for the drama
or the fashion home fashion that is not not Plano fashion, Yeah,
(06:25):
you'll sort of, I guess, feel the pain that they're
going through and you might pick up some tips on
an easier way for you to be able to do
your renos in regional areas as well. Just with that
bit of pre planning. And the contestants said they've got
to find their way around all those dramas.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
All right, Well look forward to its starting Monday night
on nine Phillip Island. Renovating holiday homes. Yeah, that'll be cool.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
As Australian house prices go soaring, you know all about it.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
You know, I mean people that say, oh, some of
these places have just got a bit too big and grand,
and in recent times I tend to agree they have
got a little large. These are regular folks building them,
aren't they. I think this will be more doable.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I think I'm hoping that we see some beautiful young
families that decide that city living isn't for them and
they might choose to relocate to Hillip Island. Yeah, full time.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
That's what I'd love to see, not just holiday homes,
but people that maybe that could commute maybe work Thursday
to Mondays from their holiday home.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Back to the city. Who knows. But of course the
auctions will be live in November. Until then, we've just
got to get them built.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah, absolutely well, Shelley, thank you for joining us this morning.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Thanks for your time anytime. See you are the best.
