Speaker 1 (00:28):
Good morning, good morning, welcome.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Well, it was the Jesse Hugan Chow on the weekend,
wasn't It was mighty mighty good and that that big
win the Eagles of course, going down to Greater Western
Sydney the Giants one thirty to fifty one in the end,
Nick kick nine.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Frustrating, very frustrating. Yeah, it's tough. It's a tough watch,
very tough watch. And then the first half was just
the game was done by that point, and it's it's
frustrating and feel like teams pick and choose when they
want to go when they don't.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
So yeah, there's there's a lot of things that we
need to work on, and we got a good little
clip across the years basically after after that game.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Right, I mean once again, big big, big margins. It's
that's that's got to make it more frustrating.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's deflating.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is deflating, especially with such a
young team as well that you know, he wants to compete,
wants to win, wants to play games of foot in
the right way, and unfortunately we just it's not clicking
at the moment. Hopefully it changes and we can try
and get some games on our terms.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
We saw that it tastes like you know, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yeah, yeah, and we saw that against Brisbane for two
and a half quarters, which was fantastic. So it also
goes to show that a lot of the game is
played betweenty years. So yeah, that's that's probably also the
most frustrating aspect when it comes down to it.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Plenty of young players play of debutantes, so that's I
guess you look for incremental change and you look for
some positive size. There were plenty of those from the Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
I thought I thought a lot of the young kids
were great. I think Archie Reid is coming along quite nicely.
You know, we get some supply eventually for the forwards
and I think, you know, he'll start to bag a.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
Couple of goals.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
He does, he's a big boy, but you just see
you just kind of see a lot of the potential
and the young kids and archers, certainly Wine, I thought
Cross he did pretty well on the weekend. You know,
Hofey continues to grow, Rubes off back off the back
line as well. That those boys, you start to see
the potential in him.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
So it's still going to be exhausted by about round
taking up so much work.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Oh yeah, absolutely, yeah, And that's the hard part too.
You don't want to play the game of football when
your back half. You know, every team will come out
and say that they want to play front half football
and keep the ball in their forward half and put
the opposition under as much pressure as they can, and
unfortunately teams are doing that to us at the moment.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
It's yeah, it's hard work.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Well that was last weekend. There's no use going on
and on and on about it. Let's go to this
Saturday playing Carlton in Adelaide. It's gather around a bounce
down's eleven twenty perth time. Maybe you know it might
augerwell being a Saturday game at an earlier time, because
it's stuck. It stuck at a rut of Sunday afternoon.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yes, the graveyard shift Yeah, the team.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Has gone straight from Sydney to Adelaide. What are the
pros and cons of doing that?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
It just keeps everyone together.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah, and you move on pretty quick and yeah, yeah
you can when you go on away trips. They are
actually quite fun. Yeah, so you're bond a lot closer
with your teammates. You're in it together. Especially after the
last sort of game, boys would bond and move on
pretty quick. But yeah, you do a lot of team things,
and yeah, you can't sort of hide.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
It's great.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
The atmosphere and gather around is a lot of fun too,
So there's plenty to do and most of the boys
get out and do it all together, which is great.
So that's probably it's probably coming a perfect time. After
the Giants game.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Instead of flying all the way home, a couple of
a few.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Boys came home, like those boys that have kids, they
came home, which is fair enough. I think if I
was playing, I think I probably would have come come
back and helped test out. But a lot of the
boys kind of do that just to help their partners out. Yeah,
but they'll fly back when they can.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
It'd be nice to not have to come back and
get bombarded at the airport by media. Yeah, a little
bit of a week to just stick together.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
Plase haven't had a winn either this year, so they'll
be pretty happy.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
They have a close game. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Yeah, Well we going to every game thinking that it's winnable.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
So if this is a minute, yeah it is.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
And and they're struggling as well, just as much as
us at the moment, So yeah, it's it's certainly a
game that we believe we can win. And the minute
that you start going at a game thinking you can't
win them, that's yeah, you might.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
As well just pack the talent.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
So yeah, yeah, where from what I've been told and
what's sort of been the vibe around the football club,
around the boys that are played that have come back,
they're they're excited by this week and what it presents.
So hopefully we can get things clicking together as a
group and this could be the game there's a really good.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Chance for big morale boosts.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Is absolutely yeah, absolutely, yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
I have some cavalry coming back. Mate, who's Liam Ryan back?
Is flying blame?

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Do you think?

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (05:24):
I think flying flying?

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Yeah, yeah, I think him. Well, yeah, the word at
the moment is he will fly over with a few
others as well, Jakie and that. So they'll probably still
have to train, do tests all that, but at this
stage I'm hopeful that they will try to put the
best foot forward to play this week.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
So yeah, some begins just Liam on the weekend.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, we did, so there's some beginns.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
And but you know, they're forward line players, so we
need to get the ball forward and unfortunately we just
haven't been doing that a lot lately.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
So they're already up there. Jo pech Chelly had a
good Waffle game, so is he likely to great head over?

Speaker 1 (06:01):
He was great? Yeah, yeah, he was great.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I have goals.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Yeah, look that's a that's a match community decision. So
he did play well. I thought a few of the
younger boys as well. Watching the game. I was sitting
there feeding in me on the couch. I would have
liked to have got down there, but I was watching
the game and I thought a lot of the young
kids showed a lot of potential. So Job Shanahan took
an unbelievable mark back with the fly, just almost Jonathan

(06:25):
Brown like it was insaney, gutsy, very gutsy. So yeah, yeah,
that's what gets you excited.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Just quickly, how's the ankle and how you.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Yeah, ankle is okay. Yeah, like all things like you
have your ups and downs. It's like a roller coaster ride.
Progress isn't and rehab isn't linear.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
I wish it was.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
So just trying to navigate that and yeah, find the
best way forward for myself, which yeah, I'm starting to
get there, but yeah, I still feel like I need
to be in my base and my fitness and that's
quite a that's quite a bit off.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Well. Bouch Down is twenty past eleven on Saturday morning.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Good luck, thank you,
