Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here we are now with Australia competing in Eurovision. Clint
Dreiburg is in buzzl and Switzerland.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Hello Clint and Lisa. Good, good morning Perth. And a
fun fact and I'm good but I got to say.
Nineteen seventy four Eurovision. We all know about Abba. Yeah,
here's a fun fact for you. A little lady called
Olivia Newton John also sang on that night. She placed fourth.
She sang for the UK and we all forget about
that our living. We're singing for the UK. There you go.

(00:30):
Fun fact for me. Loves text and I've learned such
clean What a great start mate. You can come on every.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Week now, Clin, I believe you've just seen Gojo boy
from Manjam up rehearsing. How did he go?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Oh he's looking good and he's got the tough job
but also the fun job of performing live. First second
semifinal that you have to get up for at three
am per time Friday morning. Set your clocks a little bit.
I know you're up around then. Anyway, get up a
little bit earlier and watch him sps. Of course we'll
be taking it live and will we have to cheer

(01:07):
him on He's absolutely fantastic. He's out there doing the
Milkshake Man. He's in a giant blender, he's in his
very type hands. He gets the crowd going really well,
like his little taste some exclusive audio fresh from rehearsal.
Gojo doing the Milkshake Man's just incredible. I mean, you

(01:47):
think about, you know, Australia's participation in Eurovision.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I think it was Jess Melboury was the first one
who was invited to be a special guest, and then
you know we've had Guy Sebastian and many sins Man.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
But it's become a bit of a tradition for us
to hit have in it. It is and we're really
loved here. I mean Darby him almost won the thing
that she came into it. Yes, she was robbed because
they changed the voting. I like your thinking, Lisa, we
could have won it, but the change was the one
we could have won it. She was the one and
still to this day. I mean I've been here to
the ten Eurovisions we've been part of since it all

(02:18):
began ten years ago for us, and they still are fascinated.
I mean, I'm walking around Basil, this tiny little town
in Switzerland. I look to the left, ares France. If
I looked at the right, there's Germany. People see the
Australian flag on my backpack and they love us being here.
They still don't know why we're here. Explained that we
love it. We've loved it for the last years, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Guy sir. A few comments this week saying are they
just going to start calling it World Vision?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Because they should? We keep coming back, you know, and
voyage are we here to of course from Perth and
now we're back with the boy from mandum Up, a
little town with what four thousand people, three hundred kililometers
south of Person And I think he's got the song
that could do it. He'll definitely make the Grand Finals.

(03:05):
He could win this thing. Yeah, it fits it to him.
Backstage as well, I was talking to him backstage and
about how he feels, how he if he's feeling the
love from the Western Australia. He had a little bit
of a chat with me backstage. Yes I have.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I mean, you know it's coming across from Europe as well,
and you know, like I always say, I feel so
loved back home in Australia, especially when we did the
parade and stuff. You know, I see people holding kangaroos
of the Australian flag, and you know, everyone's like very
supportive and it's so cool to see people back home,
even making the big twenty hour flight over here to
support me. It's very very very sweet.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Management are yes feeling the love very much so as well.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I've been hearing like it sounds like every all the bars,
and I mean there's only like two anyway, but they're
all trying to like compete with you know, who's having
the who's having the Eurovision party is backstage.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
It's like a sporting event, Clint. Yeah, it's all very exciting.
It is. It is the Olympic Game, the music, That's
what I say. I mean, I'm not really into the
sport thing, but I get to cheer on it and
all these colors of the world, thirty seven countries participating.
Of course, there's a bit of politics involved. There's a
debate whether Israel should be participated and not. Of course
that's a valid debate. But at the end of the day,

(04:15):
it's just a bit of fun. It's a song competition.
It's a sparkly diamond te trophy to win at the
end of it all. And you know, hey, if Australia
wins it, where will we host it? Is the big question, Lisa.
I mean which country would be picked to host it
for us? Where can we go have a European party
for Australia.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
With frug Where do you want to go? Clint?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah, from my eleventh one Greek would be Multinat. I mean,
you know, there's some great acts in the second semi final.
There's the Malta girl's bouncing around on big red footballs.
The French girl is singing while she's in a sand
pit with sand falling on her, and are gaming Gojo
in his giant blender. Yeah, look good, but it's some

(04:56):
stiff competition. So if anyone listening in person now needs
to tell their friends around the world, we can't vote
for ourselves, all right, at three am Friday morning, when
we're watching on SBS, send the text messages to all
our friends around the world, right and tell them to
vote for Gojo. That's the only way we can get through.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
And then if he gets through, Sunday morning at three
am is when to tune in for the Grand Finals.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
We'll have a quiet drink all around as straight yes it's.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
A quiet milkshake.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Clint.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
It lovely to chat to you. Enjoy the the Eurovision weekend.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Good and Tar guys, Eurovision Goodn't Tar Good Morgan for
