Barra popped in to discuss a truly massive weekend of sport. Clairsy was riding high from last night’s Freo game against St Kilda, it was the Dockers sixth straight win. The guys discussed Saint’s coach Ross Lyon’s post-match mysticism and Barra asked Lisa her thoughts on calf awareness. The Eagles gave Collingwood a scare and the British & Irish Lions brought a WHOLE lot of rugby fans to Optus Stadium; half of Butler were in attendance.  Plus, keep your eyes peeled for The Matildas, the team are still in town after their draw with Slovenia over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's talk sport with the matrim Barrage. When you've got
to get work here, You've got to get into work Blubber.
Their eight trade stores are everywhere, so when you need it,
you can get it or check out work clobber dot com,
dot at you.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Good morning, Barra, morning Lese learning.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Clarsy is still in the high from the big game
last night. I'm sure you were pumped out Claresy being
at the game. Lease was off the stadium. Six straight
wins for the Dockers. Was it cold? No, it was
the starlight Purple Hays game, twelve point win, avenging that
embarrassing ten goal loss eight weeks ago. That was the

(00:36):
whole thing, was it the old coach, Lise. You should
have seen Rossi lyon ross the boss walking on the
ground like you know you owned the joint. Speaking of
Pav hugging five y, he's a genius. He's a genius
at the mind games and the tactics. Now Rossie and
after the game, he was quite he was quite funny.
Even though they lost. He was in quite a good mood.

(00:57):
And we in the media, we tried to pin him
down about whether Sarong was being tagged Embracehaw and had
all that work, and he's going, no, no, there's no tags,
and then he started talking about supernatural forces.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I'll hang on. I don't think he used this one.
They ever listen to ro Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Maybe it's a Cicadian rhythm of saints versus talkers. They
just I don't know. I can't well, I can't explain
a little bit. But yeah, I think that's a simple explanation.
They go and compete pretty well.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
I guess what we're trying to ask. Is so rare
for wrong embrashaw to not have big numbers when they're
not being tagged.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
So well, I got no idea.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I left it.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
They put some jusu on him.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
I don't know bad jusu.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
And Cicadian rhythms.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
What ju it's beauty, isn't he he knows about bad
jujus Three Grand.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Final touches to half time, which is pretty rare.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yeah, he needed to put some bad juju on Jordan
Clark was fire turned out of ten. He's in All
Australian form. I've been saying for weeks he'll be in
the All Australian team. Murphy Red you love Murphy Reid
Least the bruceple headband.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, I do, I do. I love it. He's brilliant. Yes,
I just a couple of words in your mouth, you
could win, right.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
He's a baby's kid, Jackson, Darcy, Tracy, all the stuff. Yes,
he's a belter. You're thinking Harley. And then that five
I was. I was tweeting in the last quarter going
get five on. He's got a clearances. You're getting killed
the clearances.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Get him on. And then it turns out he couldn't
come on, couldn't come on, he was injured. He actually
tried to warm up.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
It was the sub and he tried to warm up
at half time and he got calf awareness.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
How are you aware of your case? How are they
quite aware?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yes, when you're doing the personal training, there's a lot
of calf awareness.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
He kicks in later we've had a little twins? Did
he on the stairs? Justin Longman said anyway.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Came up to the box early in the in the
third quarter that he had some calf awareness. So he
tried to warm up well half time, he did some
run through his and then he felt some awareness in
his car. So I'm not sure whether we could have
put him on if he if we had an injury,
But since we didn't have an injury and we didn't

(03:32):
have any players really flagging, it was safe option was
to just leave him out of the game.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Leave him out. Isn't it weird that ever happened before
that the sub has been injured. I don't know, you
think you should have a sub sub? He's getting easy,
he's getting a bit older. The sub was made aware?

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, apparently, Yeah, I had broken cheekbone awareness in my
first game.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Did we win?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
I've got it.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
We haven't got time to say goodbye. Have you laughing?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
They're good?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
And he's destroyed the SCG. It was eighty eight days
ago a concert, you know, those wild sophisticated classical music lovers.
They stomped all over the joint and the oval is
still wrecked. And so they're going to docors are going
to play Sydney this weekend and then yeah, eighty eight days,

(04:23):
eight days and so very dodgy they reckon. They'll still
play there. I wouldn't play Alex Pierce on that. And
can you play Voss and Amos at the SCG? That's
the other question, big question.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah, come in the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
I'll be able to mention these guys happy with the Eagles,
very crazy, was so pumped, gave Colin with a big
scare in Melbourne. We're all expecting the Pies to come
over the top. They did eventually, but it was great
scenes all fresh faces hanging out together at the breaks,
you know.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
The new kids.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
They've got seven debutantes this year. I think, I really
do think there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Macarthy did really well again. Yeah they didn't he get
the ball light at the end of time. We're not
an oncoming train either. It's actually it's actually looking good.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
So I looked at the team that played Collingwood last
year and there was only eleven of that team that
played on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
So it's been a massive turn.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Now. I wanted to tell you about the British and
Irish Lions who were in town on the weekend, big, big,
crowded op to stadium, forty seven thousand almost Saturday night
and the Lions pounded the Western Force, which you know,
they're a very very famous team and a lot of
people don't understand about the British and Irish Lions why
they're so important in world sport. It's because for over

(05:37):
a century, over a century, lease they've embodied the spirit
of rugby, uniting the best players from England, Ireland, Scotland
and Wales and they go around the world and take
on the world's best, toughest opposition.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
So it's a really big big thing. A lot of
people flew in from the UK and Britain. Does that
work for the UK and the UK UK is and
Britain's the whole lot.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Right, Kingdom is the whole thing. Yeah, and our northern
suburbs of Perth too. Exactly half a butler was there
and all the rest of it. So it was good.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
So and I noticed that up to starting getting some
good mentions in the British press to here's one quote
from the Daily Mail, dar Express, Express or something. The
Lions scored a half century in this picturesque picturesque Noah's
Ark of a stadium on the banks of the Swan River,
which will also host the first test of the Ashes
series later this year.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Okay, it is a bit arc shapedn't it that? They
absolutely loved it.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
So a lot of the and froms coming to Western
Australia to watch the rugby and the cricket as well, and.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
They need to be educated because they all love the
Whacker for all those years that they love.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, they never wore sunscreened. Unbelieving three million beers throught
the end of the day. I don't give it continental.
The Matilda's are inaction last night as well at HbF Park.
They've been living here. We're tilly Town. We are tilly Town,
we are the Tilly's Town. They're just here for four matches.
I think reader just said all the games here, let's

(07:15):
have them. That's worked out beautifully. That was a one
all draw last night after they won three to one
earlier in the week against Slovenia. Now the Australian Austrian,
the Australian Grand Prix, the Austrian Grand Prix. There's no
kangaroos here. Remember the Americans when they turn up in
Austria and where's he? Where's the kangaroos? The Red Bull
conceded defeat. Max Fstappen basically can't win the championship now.

(07:38):
So now it's out of Oscar and his teammate Lando.
And Lando won.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
This race miles ahead.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Isn't he fifteen points? So it could be a charge
to the end. I know you love your f one,
so you're right. It could be a battle all the
way to Aubbu Dabi in December. That could decide it.
Ubble Dubbi and I'll quickly mentioned the waffle wed on
a Westy, your teammate, the.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Red and the Blue. Paul Santana, Oh my hell of
the month.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
TI multuous week but a big win and un least
East perth ruined. Tony Knights swan song to speak, sorry
not sorry, three twenty three games. He retires not sorry
good after that match because they can't make the finals.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
So he said that's it. I've done enough. I'm going
back to Busso thanks guys, very good. A great week,
thanks mate, love is all all the best,
