Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
How are you feeling.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Yeah, good well.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
On the weekend, the Eagles, you boys had lost to
Richmond one O four to fifty eight by forty six points.
At the g it was going not too badly until
beyond press you have stepped up.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Yeah, it really came out of the woodwork and third,
but it felt like we started off really well and
then things just gradually just I guess declined from that
point on and just I guess the snowball just kept coming.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
So, yeah, press your bag.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Those three goals, pretty impressive quarter, and then from that
point it's pretty hard to I guess, chase back six
or seven goal lead.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Would you say the inefficiency inside fifty early on in
the game was one.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Of the Yeah, certainly I was looking at that, and
we probably didn't capitalize a lot on what we could
have going forward. Yeah, frustrating, frustrating to watch, frustrating for
forwards probably, But I guess on top of that though,
Richmond had the same type of thing going forward as well,
so that was from sides. There was probably some inefficiency

(01:02):
going forward, yeah, and getting that mid forward connection, but
in the end they were Yeah, they were just too good.
A team, and I don't think if we were efficient
it would have mattered.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Unfortunately, Yeah, they've got ten goals in that second half.
Good return for you, mate, domb Sheep. It was nice
to see, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
It was yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Yeah, Look, he's been training pretty hard, so he came
back pretty fit and ready to rock and roll. It
wasn't like he had anything that could have inhibited him
other than the throat and that was just a contact thing.
So he was able to run laps and stay fit.
So it definitely showed there.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Were positives Jermaine Jones as well as domb Sheep doing well.
Jermaine Jones played well.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yeah, he's been playing some good football off the half
back line.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
I've kind of been throwing him a little bit everywhere throughout,
but he seems to be playing quite well off the
half back flank.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
So he used his speed.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
He's quite aggressive and you know when he gets his
time in space, he can certainly damaged teams and breaks
some lines. So yeah, he's he does look good off
half back.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I thought.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
In addition to that, Oscar Allen is one of only
two players in the whole comp that's kicking multiple games
a multiple goals every game. Jeremy Cameron at Ghelong's the
only other one that's doing that.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
He's a good pledge. He's a good pledge as but
Oscar's pretty good too.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Especial talent he is.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah, and especially the fact that we don't when we
go in sud fifty, we don't really go in there
that much compared up opposition to hims and when we do,
we actually really capitalize on it. So yeah, he just
goes to show how much you got to make the
most of your opportunities when you do get it, and
Oscar certainly is at the moment.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yeah, he's sort of setting it up for it, and
people are saying it, you know, some of the big
names he's coming out and John O. Brown saying, you know,
it could be a really big but perhaps the key
forward in the competition in the future. He's taking big
steps to get there already.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yeah, he is, absolutely, but he was taking those He
was taking very big steps, you know, in his first
year or two and then obviously got hit with the
injury curse unfortunately, but he's certainly come back and you know,
he's made some big stods.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Unfortunately, we can't really play down what an absolute disaster.
What happened to Jay Cully is horrible. He did his acl,
his season's over. He was just coming through as one
of the really bright lights there.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Horrible news.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Look, he got into the system the hard way and
then I'm sure you know he's pretty resilientself dude anyway,
and works extremely hard. He's proper like, he's fully elite
professional with everything that he does. So I've got no
issues that he'll come back bigger and bigger and better.
But yeah, just just a horrible sort of I guess injury.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
He's young. How is he handling this happening?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
I mean, yesterday he is the emotion of it. Yesterday
he seemed okay. Yeah, around the footy club.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
He was obviously going to get more information about when
he was going to go under the knife and.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Do all that.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
So but yesterday he seemed in Yeah, obviously he was flat,
but he seemed in you know, quite good spirits considering
you know, circumstances. But yeah, unfortunately, like there's not much
you can do about it. It's just a slight sort
of I guess you plant the foot the wrong way
and that's it, you know. So it's it's such a
fickle thing, and especially when you're moving at speed, it's

(04:18):
it's a horrible sort of injury.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Do you head in the number of things that you
do do during a game, during a season, you know,
even just doing a quarter and your body handles it
and then some little thinking.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Exactly, always one step away from exactly.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
But that's what they reckon.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Like a lot of the time when people do them
that it's it's a movement that they've done hundreds of
thousands of times, and it's just the one that is
slightly Often it's.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Like life, you know, how did you hurt your back?
I sneezed?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
You know, it is.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Always that, but it's almost that stupid little thing that
people tend to.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Say exactly how it is exactly, rather.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Than something really bigger and dramatic, nuke sergic exactly.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Yeah, so yeah, look frustrating for him, pheel for him.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Gavin big hug yesterday, so hopefully yeah back so.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
You can be a roller coaster, can it not that
far along? Back down the track?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Rosing stone shoulders yesterday the coast gave him a kiss
on the head.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yeah, I forgot, I didn't see that.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I really felt for him.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yeah, I saw the.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Arm around, but I didn't see you kiss on the head.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I've been kissed by the You've now been blessed.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Eagles will play the Gold Coast Suns. It up just
on Friday night, Friday night, and it's coast versus coast.
And the other thing is you do have to thank
Frio for flogging Hawthorne.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Does it means such?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
You're not on the bottom of the ladder, and that's nice.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
It is nice.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
No one wants to be on the bottom of the ladder.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
It's if you're not first, you last anyway, No.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Well that's I don't yeah, I don't agree with that.
This fourteenth on the ladder, This game, especially being at home,
could be an opportunity to get the second winner of
the season.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yes, it is.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
It is look Friday night foray. Yeah, we do fun
to play too. I don't know what it is, is
just some sort of feeling about playing Friday.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Night the weekends arrived, Yeah, element.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Of And you're the only game, so you know there's that.
I don't have to compete sure on Friday night, an't
you the only game?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
I don't think is there more than one game? It's
a couple of Mons games.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
When did that start?

Speaker 5 (06:33):
Yeah, the Tigers are playing the Cats. Okay, one of
only two. We got there, We got there. Look, it's
it's going to be a good game.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
I mean, some sons have got a lot of talent,
a lot of talent, so it's good to see where
our kids are at as well. It's going to be
a good game and hopefully we can get a lot
of fans down there, especially Friday night game, because there's
no excuse.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
But Miller is a good footballer, isn't he. Yeah, know
where to go to get it?

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Very good.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Just give him the pall from seventy five. He'll bang it,
bang it from there.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
So love him. They love something his name, Yeah, rolls.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
Off the tar, done that yeah yeah, interesting Wecious potential
inns for the Eagles may include rat Bazo because he
was you know, that's a protocol, the concussion one, so you.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Should be right, Campbell Chessa and Brad Hoff Yeah Brady Brady, Yeah,
Brady just got through his name, Brady.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Half Haffy, the Harvey ferraris we're going yeah, Well he's
very very quick.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Yeah, yeah, he's Yeah, he's.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Going to be a very good player for us coming
in the future, so a few of the young kids
as well coming back will be So it's going to
be exciting to see him go.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Yeah. May have you ever sat on the pitch or
gone out of the picture and had a bit of
a warm up and the grass and eating the grass
while they're out there.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
It's just that's that's a whole other level of like
eating grass.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yeah, he actually ate the grass, actually ate the sun
player who was out there. He's checking out their conditions.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Like and I'm all for like superstitions and pregamer routines
and that, but like, never have I ever seen anyone
eat actual grass and not like just chew it, Like
he's actually.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Swallow the grass. My cat, I love grass.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I do grass.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
You love grass, and look I don't love it enough
to eat it. So but if that's his thing, that's
his thing.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Didn't he throw up a hairball after eating the grass,
because that's what my cat does?

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Well? So is my dogs? Yeah, dogs that grass when
they're crooked.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Is he a Djokovic fan, because the joker, you know,
Djokovic used to do that at Wimbledon whenever he had
to win, he would eat grass. So maybe it's something
to do with.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, only Lloyd that used to pick some up and throw.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
It was to check the wind.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Yeah, but again that was like part of his superstition. Yeah,
that was his That was his pre goal kicking routine. Yeah,
that was is rotating. So that's why I did it
all the time. You do it if it was right
on the goal linearry the grass.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
I'm speaking of Tennessee was let to Dari had that
many habits going on.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Something that's true.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Last week there was chatter about rotating the role of captain.
Can you tell us any more about that? Is that happening?
Sounds like I think it seems.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
I think, yeah, idea around time for a few weeks.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
So look, it wouldn't surprise me if there's a few
others that sort of get it, get a chance at
captaining the team. So I thought TV did a pretty
good job on the weekend and has been filling in.
But yeah, I think they're just going to rotate it
around and see how everyone goes So.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Because isn't it I mean, when you're maybe not first
on the ladder, isn't that the time to experiment a
little bit and you know, give me one a bit
of a chance. So it does make it.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Absolutely absolutely it does.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
And we've got a lot of young leaders coming through,
so it'd be good to see and give them that experience,
I guess, to see whether or not, you know, in
future it well depending on the player and whatnot, that
you know they might be able to fulfill that role.
So look, it's exciting. It's a I guess from a
player's perspective, it's an exciting part to see the development

(10:16):
of all these young kids coming through and their leadership.
So yeah, I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be
a wicked, wicked sort of I wish I was playing, Yeah,
I wish I was playing able to play under them
and sort of help them out as well exactly, but
that's not the case.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
So I'm going to have to watch them the sidelines.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
I guess you can give that guidance around the club,
but it's not.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, it is, but it's not the same as on field.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Of course, it's a bit different being on field, so
but yeah, it's it's has been dropping it for a
few weeks now, so I'm looking forward to it seeing
a few players in that role.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
And have you seen this new AFL video game players
kicking the ball the bench.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
More than I love and kicking foot into the bench
the back bench for the sub a.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Little bit flat though. They've got the color of my boots, wrongs.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
They've got every detail right, I mean, they've got the
tape on the on the wrists, they have tick, they've
got the skins tick.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Yeah, the pecks big enough they no, I've got no
pecks anyway.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
That which looks like it's in the middle of the green. Yeah, yeah,
the center circle. It was like when you do a
virtual tour through a house on in real estate following
the ball play a lot of video.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Games, Number twenty five is the biggest unit you've ever
seen play footage just about Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah, that's it. Yeah, that's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
I've heard yeah, not be the final addition.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Yeah. Well that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Like I like my video games too, and it feels
that like games are getting released now are pretty underdone
and they just getting.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Crushed out of it. Even like a lot of the
AA games and stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
It's been unfortunate because you pay top dollar for them
and they come out pretty you know.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Pretty broken.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
It would be surreal playing because they blame the playing
with yourself. Playing as yourself would be really odd, wouldn't that. Yeah,
playing the game and you're that's weird.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah, And it's like as a kid, you'd always grow
up and you'd be like, you've made it.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Video games.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
You know that's not good enough.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
But I haven't played. I haven't played any AFL Live game.
If that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I don't know. It just feels weird. If you're playing
as yourself, it's weird. I don't know. Good to see
