Elliot Yeo joined Clairsy and Lisa and first up it was reflection time on the loss to Geelong last Sunday. Lisa asked if Liam Ryan was OK after that corked thigh! Elliot chatted about the upcoming Bunbury game this Sunday at Hands Oval against North Melbourne, and they have been warned about the parking. Clairsy wanted to know if Elliot was playing this weekend, what would he say to Jack Darling?

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Good morning Elliott, Good morning mate.

Speaker 5 (00:28):
Well, the Eagles lost to Geelong by forty three points.
It off the stadium on Sunday night, one hundred and
sixteen to seventy three. But that score is not reflective
of the game because the Eagles were in this and
we talked about what a tough game it was going
to be, but they were in it.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Yes, I thought if long you had to kick, that
goal would be within one point.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
The point, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
We would have been within one point and then it
might have been a different story.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Than we're down the other end.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Yeah. And then from that point on it they just
kind of piled on the goals, which frustrating because as
you said, it was very frustrating.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
That wasn't until the very end.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yes, yes, yeah, and I think Jesse kicked four.

Speaker 6 (01:10):
No one more frustrated than Reuben Gin because he played
so well.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Did he did, and that's that would be so frustrating.
I'd be so flat, bea you've done a very good
job for the game, and then yeah for him to yeah,
the floodgates open like that.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
And for that reason, I hope he's not flash.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
I hope you can appreciate, you know, the great job up.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Into Absolutely, like you'd be looking at that. Look, there's
some positives out of it, but still room to group.

Speaker 5 (01:37):
Four quarters, then be flat if you have three good ones, So.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
You need a coach down there.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
That just sort of reminds people the reminder coach the mothers.
Look at it half empty, look at it, you know,
it comes to the mother ship.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
I look like I thought he played very well, you know.
Obviously those couple of goals, which frustrating and would be
for him, But up until that point he was fantastic.
So yeah, and they're the small things that we're trying
to look for as well. With a lot of the
kids coming through, they're all showing some good signs in stages,
so it's just a matter of how can they consistently

(02:18):
do it for four quarters That will help us become
a better football team.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
Absolutely, speaking of the consistency. Mate, We've been waiting for
Oscow the cream rises to the top. But Oscar Allen
was bloody good on the weekend. He was four goals.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, I think it more well. I think his first
goal was kind of a real good sort of reflection
of that. I think he had that contest on the wing,
sprung back up real quick round about one hundred meters
down down the field and then end up kicking the goal.
So yeah, it just lead from the front and small
little things like that just kind of helped lift everyone.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
Yeah, especially important without Jake Waterman there absolutely just very quickly.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
Liam Ryan, is he likely to be okay? He finished
with a.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Yeah. I'm hoping he's no One. Liam. Though he doesn't
like rehab too much, so I reckon he'll rush back. Yeah. Yeah,
he could have all kinds of issues and he'll be
back as good as possible because he does not like
missing football.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Well. Bumbury on Sunday Bounce Downs at one twenty playing
North Melbourne at Hands Overal. This is different.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
This is one of those games that the Ruse are
sold to another state and it's definitely a winnable game
for the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
I'm not mad about it. No, So have you play
their hands over before?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
No, I don't any footy and buners.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Nah, I don't you have so. Yeah, look interesting because
I think this is the first time in the history
ever that we've had five games at home or you know,
something similar, so we don't have to travel as much,
which is just wild. Yeah, huge, and missed the old
days of when you'd have the derby and away derby. Sorry,

(03:56):
you'd have home game away derby and then another home
game and you'd have three weeks and that was like
go absolutely so yeah, to have five home games and
then obviously come up against North very talented team, young team.
When they get it right, they're hard to stop. So,
but they're like us, they're young and some stage and
you know they're they're inconsistent in patches as well. So

(04:19):
hopefully we can try and make the most of our
opportunities and you know, win another game of football.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
They're having a serious crack every week too.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Yeah, they are so and so away. I think a
lot of people, even you know, a lot of the
coaches that we've played against the past couple of weeks
or same, we've been quite hard to play against, which
is what you want to be, you know, working towards.
So we're getting there, which is great. Hopefully we can
have a win.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
Although both teams did play there during the preseason, so
it's not a complete unknown. What what do you sort
of think about when you go to play somewhere that
you're not very familiar with. I hear the Bumbury breeze.
Oh my god, they've heard of the free our doctor.
I haven't heard of the Bumbury breeze.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
You live down it's crazy, can't go.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
That's a factor.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Yeah, look, I mean it all depends, I reckon. Yeah,
we've played at all kinds of different ovals, especially we
gather around and a few others, so you've never been
there before. You're just going to rock up and play,
especially in back pre season days. I reckon, it's just
five six years ago, was playing out like woggle the
middle of nowhere, Miranda, Yeah, Richmond. But at the end

(05:26):
of the day, you just rock up and play footy
like it's no different.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Kick a goal, people to boundary.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
There's goals at the end of the field, there's some
white paint and then there's a football in the middle. Yeah,
exactly after that, you just played footy all right, regardless
of the location.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
If you if you were playing this week, what would
you say to your mate Jack Darling, Because you.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Know, you know, there'd be so much there would be
so much I could say, and a lot of it
wouldn't be on air say it of course?

Speaker 3 (05:58):
That will it be one thing to watch?

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Well, bounce down? Is it one twenty? It was sold
out you know straight away? So it's going to be
a good game. I expect you're going to go down for.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
The yeah, the game, well yeah, watch it from here.
Well that's the funny thing. They're like they've said, oh,
look there's limited parking spots and all this stuff. The
team's going down, Yeah, well because there is. So it's
it's so like we'll maybe try and carp with a
few if we can. Otherwise, like it's just going to
be like it'd be quite difficult.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
What we'll do.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
We'll save your parking spot at Bunbury Forum and get
your set bus to the ground.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Hands.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Yeah, so you next week, next
