Speaker 1 (00:05):
Yo when it's huge like yos Place to Walk Gone ninety.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Give your home and you lease on life with Perth
Window and Door Replacement Company, the number one name in
the game.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
To book your free quote Surge per Window and Door.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Oh, speaking of bangers, I guess the game was won.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Sure, we got there.

Speaker 5 (00:31):
There's a four next to your name.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
We got there, sat Kilda by twenty eight points and
up to stadium on Sunday one hundred and eight to eighty.
It was the team's first win after eleven straight losses.
I guess it's fair to say the feeling around the
club is better than it was.

Speaker 6 (00:48):
Oh. Absolutely, yeah, there's no better feeling than winning. So
reward for effort as well. Feels like the past couple
of weeks we've been building towards it and we finally
got there. So yeah, hopefully like the younger group get
a bit of a taste for it now and we
can kick on from here a couple.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
And he gets his first win.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
Yes, great, relieved in the dictionary there he.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Was, Yeah, but look, yeah, there was a kick in it.

Speaker 6 (01:16):
For the Richmond game as well before the week, and
I ye, the boys are probably feeling it and they
wanted to taste and they got it this week, which
is great. Hopefully, as I said, we can build on
a win a couple more, find you know, some silver
linings and find those little green shoots that are starting
to pop through.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Sometimes maybe it's just those little things. And I saw
Jack Graham, who won a lot of footy, a lot
of footy games, playing for Richmond at the end of
the game. But he said something to the effect of
I could see if I was doing my lip reading,
there's somebody to the effect of about freaking time or
something like that, because those two have come for Richmond
would have been win.

Speaker 6 (01:50):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And then like when yeah, when you're
in them, I feel when we're going really well as well,
and we'll win a lot of games, you just get
in the mindset of, oh, yeah, well that's expected, you
know what I mean. You start winning and you kind
of forget, you know, the actual how good it is
to win. You're like, all right, well expected, move on

(02:10):
next week until you know finals come and then you know,
you kind of just have the bigger picture always in
your head, so cool and you just kind of tick.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
The box full appreciation for four points.

Speaker 6 (02:20):
Yeah. So like, and then the past couple of years
has obviously been really, really tough, and it's like, okay,
when you get a win, it's like, no, you got
to really enjoy the wins at footy.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
You got to really enjoy and when they do come.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
So there's so much hard work that goes behind the
scenes you forget, and you forget that and the small
things of enjoying it, getting with your mates, you know.
I think a few of the boys as well had
a couple of years after the game big week as well.
So yeah, just enjoy it being each other's company and
hopefully when will.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
It did come out of an awful shock? How much
did the awful news about Adam Selwood passing have the
effect on team do you think? I mean, obviously it
wasn't a team that played with him, but yeah, you know, it.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Was more probably there's a lot of the older players,
yeah that obviously knew him, Yeah, and had a fair
bit to do with him. They were, you know, we
were quite impacted. We found out a little bit earlier
than the rest of the team. And then there was
obviously a few of the girls as well, because he
was a big part of their program early days.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
So they all, you know, pretty much all of us
that knew.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
Quite early and had had a bit of an impact
with sellers throughout the early days of the football club
in my career. Yeah, it's it's sad, very very sad,
and I think very sad for the football club, for
the players, for everyone to be able to turn around
after such a horrific twenty four to forty eight hours
and then be able to sort of, you know, winn

(03:52):
a game of football, perform at a very good level. Yeah,
it just goes to show that, Yeah, it's bigger than food,
is bigger than anything as well, and it's probably needs
to be spoken about a lot more. I do think
that there needs to be a mental health round that
comes in.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
We've been talking last few days about it.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
They have, yeah, but they were talking about it last
year as well and nothing really came into it.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
I think, you know, I think, what is it?

Speaker 6 (04:20):
Men under forty five, it's one of the biggest killers.
So's it's rife. It is rife, and I think until
we break, until we break down the walls and the
stigma that comes with it, and you know, we have to,
like all things, until society starts to make it a
bit of a norm and talk about it more and
you put it in front of people, then maybe we

(04:43):
can break down those barriers and you know, the marchioness
of men talking about it becomes less and less, and
you know, it's a bit more, it's a bit more. Unfortunately,
it's a bit more common than it's a bit more
common than sort of foreign and you know, we can
all sort of get through it together and help each other.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
But we have come a long way in that we
have in recent times.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
But it's definitely up to you to just talk to
each other one hundred percent.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
Yeah, but it's obviously a lot harder. It's a lot
harder to break down and be vulnerable. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
We had this chat with Barry yesterday and talked about that,
the impact of not being afraid to say something, and
because a lot of people don't want to bother people,
you know what I mean, And that can be a
thing you're toughen up and don't bother people. I think,
so it can be an issue as well.

Speaker 6 (05:29):
It is, Yeah, it is, it's as a major issue,
I think. Yeah, as a young sort of well probably
not young anymore.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
You are right in the age range.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
So yeah, yeah, yeah, it's hard to I get the
feeling as well and speaking you know, I could be
wrong but here, but I just get the feeling that
a lot of men don't like being vulnerable. It's awkward,
Its uncomfortable, you know, it's the whole two weeks, like
you know, you're not two weak to speak, But unfortunately,
I just don't think that there's enough out there that

(06:04):
are breaking down those barriers for young men to actually
talk about it and ask the right questions. I don't
think people pick up on the cues as much. And
I still feel like between mates and all that stuff,
it still feels things still feel superficial without getting into
the fructs of things, you know what I mean. So,
how do you break down those walls? How do you
break down those barriers? How do you ask the right

(06:25):
questions and poke and prode without being too you know?
That's I guess that's.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
The hard part.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
And I think that's crusive, Yeah exactly, So it's yeah,
it's I still feel like we as a society has everything.
We need to know the cues and we need to know,
you know, small things that can help one another. And
again it all comes from the individual as well, being vulnerable.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Have a poke and a problem. The more you do
it'll become more normal.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Yes, yes, I'd just got to.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Get past that.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Now, off to Adelaide to play the Crows. They're sitting
sixth on the ladder. How do we think we're going
to bounce back after the win?

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yeah, it's a tough game. Yeah, tough game.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Early days watching Adelaide, I was thinking Jesus they might
be premiership contendency, playing some really good football and they
dropped off for a couple of weeks. But they're starting
to pick back up again and they still look very good.
They've got talent across the park. So tough game, very
tough game. But look we've come off a win. I
feel like what we've been trying to implement as well
starting to click. So yeah, it'd be good to see

(07:25):
where we're at again. It's a really really good team,
so I'm excited by it. I'm sure the players are
as well. After last week.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Do you know anything that's going on with Gov Jeremy McGovern,
you know, is he a chance of being back this week?

Speaker 4 (07:37):
You think, I hope.

Speaker 6 (07:38):
So he wants to play. He's a genuine competitor. So,
but there's also the aspect of like, mate, if you're
not healthy, you're not fit, then you know, don't push yourself.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
And he's had a few as well, the poor bugger
over his career. So there's there's things going on as
well that you know you have to do. I'm pretty
sure last week we spoke about the test that we
have to do for concussion and all that stuff. So yeah,
there's all those those little things and those measures that
you have to do, and oh there's heaps. Yeah, now
there's Yeah, you've got to sit in front of a
computer screen and tap the keyboard pretty.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Much click the right card and all that that pops up.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
So it's like game where you put big shapes into yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Correct.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
Yeah, so there's all those small boxes in your chick
and then you know, after you've had a few as well,
then it goes, it goes higher than the docks.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
So and in ten words or less, are you okay?

Speaker 6 (08:28):
Yeah, yep, yes, yes, it's I think today I might
be two. It's two weeks post surgery now, right, So
my scar has kind of it's all healed up, which
is good. So we're going to try and see what
we can get away with. So if I can start
run today, they'd.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Be great, fantastic and they've been excited, so excited to run.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Although you're telling me before you heard one.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
So said, yeah, sandstorm came on at the gym.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
I've never been so close to running in my life,
but I got over it.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Month film from the gym floor, got to the trading
and thought, no, this.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
Is calmed down. Am I bounced out.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Is eleven ten our time against the Crows.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Good luck, jeez,
