Elliot Yeo popped in to chat and Lisa grilled him on the Eagles loss over the weekend. Elliot praised Tom McCarthy’s debut game and can’t believe the job he was doing up until two weeks ago. A whole list of players out with injuries including Oscar Allen and Harry Edwards. Lisa asked if Elliot is going to tomorrow’s State of Origin game to support a fellow (possibly related). Plus, the guys ask for an update on Jeremy McGovern’s concussion panel.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Give your home and you leave online with Perth Window
and Door Replacement Company the number one name in the
game to.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Book your free quote Searge per Window and Door. Good morning, Elliott,
good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
So welcome last a cut.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
And by thirty four points it off to stadium On Sunday,
the score was eighty six to fifty two. Look the Blues,
no doubt helped by their blistering start to the game.
It's got to be tough when you kick seven goals
to the Eagles one in the first quarter.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Yes, yeah, yes, yeah, it looked like the game is
kind of done in the first quarter, sadly, and then
you know, I think from that point on we kind
of got ourselves back into it, but the damage was done.
Yeah by that stage. Mini's like quarter time as well,
was pretty pretty brutal.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Pretty yeah, yeah, yeah, none of that.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
So those watching it home that saw that that was
pretty brutal, but that was fair.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
That was pretty fair.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
It was ten goals to one just early in the
second and then the improvement went from there.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
It did.

Speaker 6 (01:13):
Yeah, but it probably took as well.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I probably thought maybe a little bit more into the
second to kind of kick into gear. Yeah, but then
and didn't see it as much on the scoreboard, but
then changed a little bit in the second half. But
as I said, by that point, the damage was done.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
One thing we did see though, it was the number
one pick in the mid season draft. Trom McCarthy came
in hot guy.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
You sure did kickings as well?

Speaker 6 (01:35):
Pressure, Yes, yes, yes, I actually liked his game. I
thought it was really good.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
He was racing around, he wanted the ball in his hands,
he used it pretty well. So it's exciting for you know, us,
especially in the back line as well, to get our
ball movement going. It feels like the ball has been
back there a fair bit this year. So yeah, any
any players that we can we can take that can
use the ball well and want it and can you know,
basically try and get it out of there and get

(02:01):
it moving forward for us, we'll take.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
You get one chance to make a first impression, as
they say, and I'm sure that applies in football.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
That's pretty good, Pretty good.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
I think we'll keep him.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah, he had a lot of fun, he said, after
the game.

Speaker 6 (02:14):
That was yea, even though even though we lost. Yeah,
that was good fun.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
But like all things, like when you're playing, when you
have a dream like that and two weeks ago, I
think you're stacking shells.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
And mates up and that he mates flow flew over
to see his first game.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Got a great first game.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
He did really want Tommy very good huskar Allen. Yeah, yeah,
leg injury behind the play in the final quarter. This
is a serious injury, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah, Like I messaged him yesterday and said, hey, how
you going. He said, yeah, good, like he had skin.
I'm sure we'll find out the severity of it, but yeah,
he seemed he said, look, I'm a bit sore, but
I think I'm all right, like praying for good results.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
Okay, fingers grassed because he has got that, you know,
strapping around that knee already. He did come off in
the way where you'd see the pain, but you'd also
see the concern on his face.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yeah, I didn't actually see the footage of it and
showed it. So yeah, we're crossing everything at the moment
for Oscar.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
So hope for the best.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
And what about Harry Edwards also did not finish the
game and that looked like a hamstring injury.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah, howse he same thing?

Speaker 6 (03:26):
What had scans yesterday? So we'll know more. I think that.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, tuesdays the day generally when we find out, you know,
radiologist goes through the skins and does all that and
then they can find out, you know.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
What's what the severity is of it all.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
So yeah, fingers crossed a little one, and you know
he's not missing too many weeks.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
How different is by week for the boys? Mate? Obviously
you'll still work any way back, but.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Different from me, but those for the played they have
a few days off as well.

Speaker 6 (03:52):
He's still going to do He's still going to do things.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
So I'm going to go on basically, I'm going into
the club today anyway, go for a run, some gym.
So they give you a program that you have to follow.
But a lot of the boys that have been playing,
they kind of just they go out down south, up north,
they going to have a mental break, talpe thing. Yeah,
I'm a little bit different, like I kind of need

(04:14):
to get stuff done.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
So, yeah, I'm hanging around.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
State of origin is in town tomorrow? What is there
a yo there?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yeah, yeah, there is yeah, I mean we're probably related somehow, yeah,
deep down, like way way way, way way back.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
We're probably related somehow.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
So yeah, interesting, very interesting. Although I'm not a New
South wales Man, I spent a couple of years in Queensland,
so a bit yeah, yeah, I'm a bit more of
a Queensland than a Blue Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Well, so you go to the game on Wednesday night.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I'm i'm I'm i'ming in a ring. There's some tickets there.
It just still depends luck. Yeah, I'm not one hundred
percent sold out on it just yet.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
All right, so we'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Can we just touch quickly on Jeremy McGovern. How's how's
Jeremy McGovern?

Speaker 6 (05:13):
He's good.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah, yeah, he's gone through experts, they've gone through all
of that now and then you know, they have their
side of things. He has hit his side, will put
the everything together and collate it and then they go
off and you know, they make a decision.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
So we're waiting on that panel decides his future.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yes, pretty much, once everything's been put forward.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yes, yes, so fingers crossed. We're hoping for a good
result there as well, but yeah, it'd be a sad
way to see him go out as well, of course,
but there's also the element of like, yeah, that's it's
a pretty serious issue, especially now, like you want to
be you want to be on top of that, of course.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Yeah, And that's why a panel decides. Otherwise he probably
would have been out there last.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Absolutely, Yeah, yeah, yeah, gabs a soldier, Yeah, a special soldier.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
And thinking of a couple of blocks of the club
whose careers have ended, because.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, and three games shorter, three games shorter to hundred
two like that, Yeah, fingers crossed that. You know, you
can get back and play two hundred and continue to
play footy until he's you know, he's ready to all.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Right, the bye this week, that puts you another week
closer to being back as well. We'll talk to you,
We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Cheers,
