Hayden Young from the Freo Dockers was back in the studio with Clairsy & Lisa post hamstring surgery. He gave the guys an update on his injury plus how team mate Sean Darcy's knee injury is looking ahead of this week's Giants game in Sydney. He also talked about all the current media speculation about Luke Jackson wanting to return to the Demons.

Clairsy likes to eat in the mornings and today Lisa pointed out just how many plates he uses before 6am.

There is a Tik-Tok trend at the moment to describe your ex as a brand so Clairsy & lisa jumped on the bandwagon and opened the phones and textline to hear yours. Some of them are very clever and very funny.

In The Shaw Report, Leonardo DiCaprio presents Robert De Niros with a special award at the Cannes Film Festival.

Clairsy told Lisa about a disturbing mystery illness affecting our very own Black swans at the moment.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Hey, you're traveling at this point in time, but.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Not too bad, man, I'm better than I was a
week ago.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
Yeah, very well.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Yeah, yeah, I'm moving all right now.

Speaker 6 (01:07):
So it's amazing when you get a little bit of
independence back off the crutches almost so no feeling good
and yeah, just taking it day by day at the moment.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Very good, very good. Indeed, Yeah, two crutches down to one.
But I guess they get you up. They want your
mobile pretty well straight away to Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
Well that's a good thing about a hamsharing injury or
surgery I should say, is that, Yeah, you kind of
you can put weight through it pretty quickly, so they
encourage you to sort of get moving and obviously you
don't want to take any risks or slip over. But yeah,
it's been nice to sort of, you know, keep moving.
I bet yesterday I was in the club doing some
gym work which was nice and still not allowed to

(01:44):
really get a sweat up, but yeah, I can get moving,
which it's amazing what a bit of exercise can do
for your sort of mental health and just feeling like
you can achieved something for the day. So yeah, hopefully
from now, from now going forward, it should be a
little bit easier.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Any inkling of how long it might keep this sidelined.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
It's a little bit. It's sort of a window.

Speaker 6 (02:03):
Yeah, it sort of depends how things travel at the moment,
but hopefully between eight to ten, what like twelve maybe,
but yeah, I'll be pushing for eight and then ten
would be a results injuries, Nah, n I'm I'm pretty
caen to get back out there and still play some
foota this year.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Made it the footing On the weekend, I interviewed Nina Kennedy,
the Perth based Olympic champion then World champion in the
pole vault.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
That must have been awful.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
It was horrible. Yeah, she's a superstar. Yeah, gold medlist.
She's done exactly the same injury as you. She said,
I've done Hayden's injury. I five weeks ahead of him.
Same too.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Actually, one of our.

Speaker 6 (02:39):
Sports scientists at our club works with Nina as well
and sort of spoke to me before I went in
for my surgery and said, you know, I've worked with
Nina and this is sort of what she's gone through.
She went ahead with the surgery, so it gave me
a lot of confidence going into the surgery. That's obviously
she's done it and it seems to be going really
well for her, so yeah, I might be out of
speak to her down the track and see how she's going.

(02:59):
And but yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
The surgery went really well.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
I've heard it went well for her too, so I'm
pretty positive with getting back out there and paying some footy.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
All right.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Was it tough to watch Thursday night losing to Collingwood
by fourteen points at Opta Stadium.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
It was incredibly tough.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
I was on the couch with my leg up, yeah,
and you just feel helpless because you can't get out
there and do anything.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
But I was.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
I was really really proud of the way the boys played.
I thought we were right up for the fight. We
started really well. Unfortunately, collingwould just have a really good
ability to score pretty quickly. I think we had thirty
more inside fifties in them, which in any most games
of footy, that is enough to sort of get the result.
But they're just pretty damaging when they went inside, and

(03:43):
they got some pretty good players in their forward line.
So it was a little bit frustrating because it was
one of those games where upon review, it was quite
a positive review because we thought this is the brand
of footy we want to play and it was a
complete opposite to the Saint Kilda game where we lost
in sort of the key areas we want to dominate in,
and so we had to review the game for what

(04:04):
it was. Yes, we didn't win on the scoreboard, but
it was more our type of footy and we want
to keep rewarding that and keep encouraging that going forward
because we feel like if we can keep putting performances
like that in terms of you know, winning clearance, contested ball,
you know, owning field position, it's going to give us
the best opportunity to win going forward. So yeah, it

(04:25):
was a pretty positive review despite the result, and we
want to keep encouraging that type of footy.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Absolutely, you would have been fun more disturbing if it
was similar to the and killed a game. Now, Sean
Darcy with his knee, mate, have you heard anything about
how he's going.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
He's doing all right, It's not as bad as I
think we might have initially assumed. So I don't know.
I think he might be a test this week. Okay,
So yeah, they're just like managing that situation carefully, just
making sure that they make the best decision. But yeah,
I think he's I think he's doing all right. He's
been really optimistic and upbeat all week. I think initially
he might have thought the worst, but I think he's

(05:00):
a bit more upbeat knowing that it's not as bad
as we might have expected.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
All Right, we'll be so Doug Nichols round coming up now.
Jeff Farmer has designed the team jumper for this game,
which it's on real going to be a tough one
against the Giants in Sydney on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
It will be.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Yeah, they're a pretty quality team and the last few
times we've trailed up there we've had a few issues.
So it's a great test for our group at the
moment with with how we're going, and if we can
sort of back up a good performance last week away
from home, it would be a good sign of sort
of growth in our game.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
And they've got some.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Pretty important players that are playing some pretty good footy
at the moment, so we're going to have a few
key matchups.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I reckon which four blokes are going to play on
Jesse Hogan do you think.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
Yeah, that's a good question. I reckon, We've got one
bloke we'll do the job. And these James Alex peers.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
He kicks seven goals against the Cats.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yea goals against us.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
It does, it does, But no, I think Moose is
up for the challenge, So now we'll see how he goes.
But yeah, it's an exciting matchup for us and as
a group, they've got some players that can really be
really damaging.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
But if you can get.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
On top of those players, I feel like we can
expose them. And you know, our aideen players versus their
eighteen players. I hope that we can get the job done.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah, I have to mention the unicorn in the room.
The story seems to be building. I don't know why
because it's been squashed or quashed already.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Yeah, get called the unicorn a bit.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
She does a bit.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah, especially when you first came back and talk about
Luke Jackson going back to Melbourne all that stuff. I
know you can't answer that question as such because you
probably don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
But how do you block that out? You go ahead,
the squad block it out.

Speaker 6 (06:38):
Yeah, try not to read the news and it's just
a whole speculation At the moment. I think we're all
aware that we've got a job to this week, and
so does Luky so he'll be excited to get out
there this week and put in a good performance, and
I mean we're all right behind him, and it's just
nothing really changes.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Nothing changes at club Land. But yeah, it's just the media.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
I'll probably continue to write stories all year, so we
can't really control what they're right, But we're looking forward
to getting out this weekend and just doing our job for.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
Twenty for our news cycle.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah, yeah, that's right. I could have done with a
lot of slots to feel exactly.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
All right, we'll bounce down. Is it two fifteen perth?
Time for the Giants game in Sydney? Will you be
You'll be watching it from here on the couch.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Again, watching on the couch, all right?

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, because you're not letting the coaches box anymore, especially
without weapons in your hand.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Exactly, it can be dangerous. I've got to calm down.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
Oh, keep getting better quickly.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Thank you, ongoing recovery.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
But good to see you more Clezya, more podcasts soon.
Gotta apologize my sneeze fest. I just had their least,
that's all right. Is it the time of the season
or something. I had a hay fever tablet and the
way to work to.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
A cardigan on sitting there in a T shirt.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Do you have a spare cardigan? No, I haven't had
a cardigan since I was about five.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
I look like the wardrobe distress.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Yeah no, no, because you're the plate whisper who was
checking out how many plates I was using us today?

Speaker 5 (07:58):
Well, you look like.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
You've been to the old you know, Japanese restaurant where
they charge you per plate. You had six plates.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Lined like a Greek restaurant. Thank you, I'm going to
smash them.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
You needed.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
We had to do a run through the dishwasher just
for your breakfast dishes.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
And it made me laugh because it just meant that
you were perving at my food.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Again, there's nothing else to look at.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Many plates an organize today's food.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
In the studio, you spin in a lot of plate
from crumb crumb of plates.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
In the air, all the kids are playing online. The question.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
The question is describe your ex as a brand now.
Some examples Nokia because he peaked in the nineties, or
Twitter because he's now X. That's pretty good, Lego because
I built him up and was still left picking up

(08:53):
the pieces.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
Oh that's a good one.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Creative do you dare.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
When shot when when they tried to change the recipe
at coke and it was weak and unsatisfied.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
That X.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
I how about KFC finger looking good but ultimately bad
for you?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Do you reckon? It's time to get creative.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
I love to hear from this morning describing your X
as a brand.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
Lazy boy. Yeah, that's a brand, isn't it. That is
the best one.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah, that's a river, Jamie said Pringles. Once you pop,
you can't stop. Meant to be your ex?

Speaker 5 (09:38):
Yeah, well maybe you know.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Some one didn't leave their name but said I call
him Asper, a slow working dope.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
I do blockbuster because he's no longer with us.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
That Jenny on the text in Bustleton said, my husband
said he'd call his ex bleach because she'd clean you
out of everything.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
This is a way of being bitter and funny at
the same time. It is the most fund and on
the radio.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Well, Vince said, fruit loops. I guess that's fairly self explanatory.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
I've got another one that has left their name that
said Microsoft.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Also self explanatory. That's a river.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
That's a double punch, that.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Beauty. What do you for us.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah. I was thinking of Audi, like not as good
as a proper one, but would get the job done. Okay, yeah,
so like somebod who speaks from experience.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Yeah yeah, so Audi the cheap alter.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah, looks like the real thing. Yeah, yes, thank you,
Like a good can of green can of miler, you
know that kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Yeah, it looks like not quite there.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
We're asking you this morning to describe your ex as
a brand like Ikea, because I had to do it
myself and we're getting a lots of texts clever ones
had from caring up, said Spam. I thought it was
a good idea at the time, but I should have
listened to everyone. Christy Haynes said, w a salvage, not

(11:26):
fancy but cheap. Duchy and Gosnell's is very diplomatic, said
my ex would be Volvo, good brand, but not right
for me. And Crystal and Baldiver said, O z Empic
lost ninety five kilos in one day.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
When I can do.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
On the text describing your ex as a brand, Alan said,
PlayStation found to play but needed an upgrade.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Gary Calamanda, what do you got for us?

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yeah, my ex, she calls me.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Lad, but I really don't know why.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
I'm glad you're not too worried.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Good Gary.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, Thomas in one of the last call, describe your
ex as a brand.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Hey, guys on Dick Smith.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
She won't let me see her in person anymore, just
messes me online. Yes, you don't see Dick anymore? Do
you see them? One?

Speaker 7 (12:29):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah, that's right. Yeah, it's the store front.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
Thank you, Thomas.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Great one love her people get clever and creative in
a little bit Na, Yeah, but you know.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
What can you do? No one was named.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
It's more crazy more podcast soon. Unless we love our
flora and fauna here in the West, it's world famous,
we have to look after it. And after We've been
talking about this a bit lately. The shot held bora
nel shot hill Bora threatening our beautiful old tree in
places like Hyde Park has been disturbing enough. And the
latest report from WA Wildlife, who is saying there's a
reported they've reported a considerable rise in the mysterious syndrome

(13:09):
that's harming our iconic state symbol of the black swan.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Not the black swan.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
What is happening?

Speaker 1 (13:15):
They're saying up the past few months, WA Wildlife have
observed a notable increase in black swan's presenting with a
mysterious photosensitivity syndrome, which sounds like something the Quackers had
yet from too many selves.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
What about that at the beginning of shows on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Yeah, exactly, Yeah, that's what I thought. Yeah, the jerky
movements and flashing light now around the swan itself. The
Biberlake Organization said that typically we see they see a
handful of cases each year. They've treated over twenty swan's
this year alone, rescued by their friends at wac Bird Restaurant.
The rescue and the birds which appear on the state's flag,
as we know, have been suffering from the painful symptoms

(13:51):
and they've never heard of this before. The rescue center
said that the cause of the syndromes unknown. It's claimed
it could be linked to toxic exposure or liver dysfunction
from environmental triggers, which sounds awful and as factors increase
the sensitivity of the skin to light. So they're saying
the good news On the outside, most birds recover well
with dedicated support of care. They have pain management, wound treatment,

(14:13):
and sometimes UV protected enclosures so they don't get further
damage from it.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Is this the same thing that's happening to magpies? I
have mag pires are in trouble as well.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah, they are calling it anund magpie paralysis.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Thing HYH paralysis.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Paralysis syndrome, which is odd. That's been in the news
a bit too, hasn't it the last few days? So
according to the not for profit group that we mentioned,
WA Wildlife on their website, they say Native Wildlife Hospital.
Their hospital treats more than six thousand, five hundred animals
from two hundred and eighty species per year.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
And where would we be without them doing their great work? Unreal?
So we have to look after the iconic swans.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Remember when if you if you didn't go and see
the swans, you hadn't been to the airport.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
No, that's right, you had to go visit the swans.
And who were going to put in our details and
rulers for tourists to go to the Sucre shops report
on ninety six AIRFM.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
At the opening ceremony at the Cahn Film Festival, Leonardo
DiCaprio has presented Robert de Niro with the Honorary Palm
d'Or for lifetime achievement. So without trying to speak for
the entire world of cinema, you're to ninth, but probably
doing it anyway.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
There is no one more deserving of this Homdura Lifetime.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Achievement Award than mister Robert de Niro.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
How do argue that Robert de Niro is just you know,
it's just topic. I mean, there's not much bad that
he's done. I'm not too sure. I love some of
those weird later.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Comedy, the socker type things.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Yeah, but you know, he's mate, just brilliant movies. Now,
these two first start together in the nineteen ninety three
film This Boy's Life, when Leo was just a baby.
Most recently they were in twenty twenty three's Killers of
the Flower Moon.

Speaker 7 (15:56):
Leo, thank you for being here with me. For me,
I'm the special may Ketl. Thank you, Mercy Bookou to
the festival, the Can for this palm d'Or dunner messi
anfinimon to the festival, the Can for creating a community
a home if you will, for those of us who

(16:18):
love the art of telling stories on screen.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Ossie actress Naomi Watts has signed on to stars Jackie
Kennedy and Ryan Murphy's upcoming series American Love Story. This
is about the whirlwind romance between JFK. Junior and Carolyn
Bissett Kennedy. They're being played by Sarah Pigeon from I
Know What She did last summer and a newcomer who's
a model and actor who really is a splitting image
of Jack kr whose name is Paul Kelly.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Cynthia, not that Paul Kelly. Not not to her door
ones Now, this is a guy that really looks like JFK. Junor.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Cynthia Arrivo from Wicked is going to lead a one
woman production of Dracula in London's West End, in which
she will play all twenty three roles. I love how
this woman tackles different things. She's going to play Jesus
in the Hollywood Bowl Jesus Christ Superstar production in July.
I think that is Australia's Michael Castle Group are the

(17:17):
producers of this show, which will hit the stage next February. Now,
these are the same producers behind Ozzie Sarah Snooks Broadway
in London, Triumph The Picture of Dorian Gray, which was
just nominated for six Tony.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
Awards, and Janet Jackson is going to receive the.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Icon Award at the upcoming American Music Awards. She'll also
be performing at the show, which is on Monday week
in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Oh very good.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
The Janet update, wrapping up the show report this morning,
