Hayden Young joined Smiley and Barra in the studio to chat footy and his upcoming return after 66 days on the sidelines, he's feeling better than expected and keen to make a strong comeback this weekend. He’s eager to perform and was inspired by the impressive returns of Jaeger O’Meara and Sam Switkowski over the weekend. a big day. It's a big day for Frio fans
and for my friend on the right here because after
sixty six days on the sidelines, he's back.

all the comebacks on.

So I saw him at training last week and he

Yeah? No, I was feeling probably better than I was expecting.

So yeah, it was nice that I was able to
train and sort of have no hesitation. And I suppose,
you know, the plan was probably I wasn't going to
play last week, but it was good to get a
solid session in. I had a good session on Saturday,
and I've got one more session to get through.

Smile, he looked electric, three goals, heaps of pressure. Did
it lift the whole team? Hayden? Having Sam back in

I think having him back, also, having like Jago Miro
back for his first full game, just that sort of
added leadership around the group was really important, and I
thought they were both outstanding. Obviously Switter was able to

that both came back from injury and had a great game.
Gives me a bit of confidence, so hopefully I can,
Hopefully I can get ten coaches boats this week.

so good, I reckon it was the best, your best
win of the year, maybe one of the best games
in the club's history. Certainly the most emotional with Sonny
sendoff and everything was just spectacular. Andy the wounded warrior,
you know swee A B G. Sean Darcy kicking the
winning goal, which must give him massive confidence as well.

Were you in the box, what was it like?
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Yeah, it was it was It was electric. Yeah, it
was a great game. And I thought we handled the
week really well. We obviously didn't perform the way we
would have liked against Sydney, and you know, there was
some external pressures coming, but I thought as a group
we just stayed together and j L led the group
really well throughout the week. How preparation was perfect or
not perfect, but it's pretty close to it. Yeah, And
(03:55):
I think we came with the right mindset, and the
mindset was we wanted to get after him. We wanted
to pressure them and we wanted to play our brand
a footy for one hundred and twenty minutes and I
think we showed that we were able to get on
top of that last quarter and we had a record
amount of tackles for the year, which is which is
a great.

One hundred and three is like unheard of one hundred
and three.

Yeah, which is a great sign.

And we're aware we probably we might not get one
hundred and three again, but if we can have the

on his feet, you're you're always on the edge of
a seat.

put in a good performance, you know, for ourselves, because
you know, we have a lot of pride in our performance,
and we were disappointed with our gaming at Sydney, and yeah,
obviously we wanted to play well for j L. And yeah,
it certainly wasn't spoken about, but felt like we played

with a bit more passionate and obviously Sonny as well
helped with that.

And I think it was a great combination.

and he had to have glued up the cut glued
up and then in the last quarter Dogger Luke Jackson
kneeds him in the head guing for that mark on
