good morning.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Morning, Hey Yngie.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
How are we both just got drenched coming into the study.
My papers I can hardly read it, but look it's
a big day. It's a big day for Frio fans
and for my friend on the right here because after
sixty six days on the sidelines, he's back.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
He is back. They are the Tiger, Ritz, the Queen,
all the comebacks on.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
He's back.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
He's got the eye of the target.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
So I saw him at training last week and he
trained the house down.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
I thought, oh, they're going to put him in.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I'd just spoken to the coach and the coach said no, no,
no next week for Janie. And then I saw you
at training. I thought it, mate, he might change his mind. Seriously,
you're on fire. So your body must have been feeling fantastic,
was it.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah? No, I was feeling probably better than I was expecting.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
So yeah, it was nice that I was able to
train and sort of have no hesitation. And I suppose,
you know, the plan was probably I wasn't going to
play last week, but it was good to get a
solid session in. I had a good session on Saturday,
and I've got one more session to get through.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Fingers cross all things go.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Well, Yeah, it feels it feels great.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
What does it feel like in terms of where you
might sit, Well, do you think if I'm justin and
the medico sign off and I'm going, right, let's take him,
We're going to the g on Sunday sub or into
the team, surely that's going to be the way, doesn't it?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Is that what you're pushing for?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, I'm not. Yeah, that thought I'd love to do.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
Yeah, obviously the medicos will have a chat with the
coaches and make the best decision. But yeah, I feel
like I've had a really good block of that set
me up to perform hopefully, and that's the thing. I
want to come back in and perform like Switter did
on the weekend. I don't want to come back in
and and.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
You know, take a while to get going.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
So whatever the best way to do that, whether as
a savin, you know, build up my minutes or if
it's straight back in, they'll make the best decision for me.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, you got to rely on the experts. You were
loving Switter's game where.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
Smile, he looked electric, three goals, heaps of pressure. Did
it lift the whole team? Hayden? Having Sam back in
the bigs.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
It definitely did.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
I think having him back, also, having like Jago Miro
back for his first full game, just that sort of
added leadership around the group was really important, and I
thought they were both outstanding. Obviously Switter was able to
hit the scoreboar, but yeah, it was good to say
that both came back from injury and had a great game.
Gives me a bit of confidence, so hopefully I can,
Hopefully I can get ten coaches boats this week.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
And kick three girls. Alex Pears no game this week,
not playing. Still a bit sore.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, still a bit sore.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
But they're just going to take conservatively, And I think
he wanted to push to get back, but I think
that the idea was give him another week or in
another two weeks, wherever long it takes, just to make
sure that he gets on top of it, because we
obviously want him play in the back end of the year.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Let's talk about that Hawthorne game, because it was so good,
so good, I reckon it was the best, your best
win of the year, maybe one of the best games
in the club's history. Certainly the most emotional with Sonny
sendoff and everything was just spectacular. Andy the wounded warrior,
you know swee A B G. Sean Darcy kicking the
winning goal, which must give him massive confidence as well.
(03:30):
Were you in the box, what was it like?
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Yeah, it was it was It was electric. Yeah, it
was a great game. And I thought we handled the
week really well. We obviously didn't perform the way we
would have liked against Sydney, and you know, there was
some external pressures coming, but I thought as a group
we just stayed together and j L led the group
really well throughout the week. How preparation was perfect or
not perfect, but it's pretty close to it. Yeah, And
(03:55):
I think we came with the right mindset, and the
mindset was we wanted to get after him. We wanted
to pressure them and we wanted to play our brand
a footy for one hundred and twenty minutes and I
think we showed that we were able to get on
top of that last quarter and we had a record
amount of tackles for the year, which is which is
a great.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
One hundred and three is like unheard of one hundred
and three.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah, which is a great sign.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
And we're aware we probably we might not get one
hundred and three again, but if we can have the
same intent to sort of pressure the opposition and get
after him, yeah, it's going to be really important, and
it's going to be important heading into this week against
you know, the best team in the comp.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
So you you were sitting in the back take us
inside the box. You're sitting at the back of the box,
are you? And then Jayla he started standing up, didn't he.
You know when the coach stands up that something's happening.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Yeah, it was pretty stressful in there. As you said,
it was a tense game. And yeah, whenever Jail gets
on his feet, you're you're always on the edge of
a seat.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Something's about to happen.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
You can't go to the toiletter in and can you.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
It's away for the Brakes, but you did it.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
For the coach too, you reckon?
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Was there a sense of doing it for the coach
after David King the days silly comments.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
It's interesting something that was never spoken about as a
group or jail. I'll never mentioned it, but I think
maybe intrinsically all the players knew that we wanted to
put in a good performance, you know, for ourselves, because
you know, we have a lot of pride in our performance,
and we were disappointed with our gaming at Sydney, and yeah,
obviously we wanted to play well for j L. And yeah,
it certainly wasn't spoken about, but felt like we played
(05:24):
with a bit more passionate and obviously Sonny as well
helped with that.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
And I think it was a great combination.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
When five he was hugging Sonny. Oh mate, even I
was tightening up then, but that was magnificent. But I'll
just ask you on the way out about the great
Andy Brayshaw. So I've been told he got hit by
Carl Warner earlier in the game and it split him
and he had to have glued up the cut glued
up and then in the last quarter Dogger Luke Jackson
kneeds him in the head guing for that mark on
(05:51):
the exact spot and splits it again. He had ten
ten staples put in the game, and then he's been
interviewed on television.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Bleeding has been a bit of he might have bled purple. Actually, yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
Was close to it. Yeah, he said it's been good
for his brand. So he's he's not complaining there. He
looks he's pretty tough, that's right. But yeah, it'll be
a poster or something. He's going to wear a helmet
you reckon.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
Yeah, he's he's sort of weighing up the options at
the moment because he's obviously still got staples in and
I'm not sure what they'll do there. Obviously, I think
they'll take them out for the game, but yeah, he
might have to.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Look.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
I think I think they have to stay in for
two weeks, don't they say? There'll be people driving now
going Well, he's got staples in his head and he's
going to play footy. But that's how it goes, doesn't
It does. So good to see you back. Seriously, you're
one of the great man sixty six days. Have been
a long time and it's going to be such a
bonus to the team, but just for yourself personally, well done,
(06:50):
my friend, Thank you very much.
