Speaker 1 (00:00):
John Edwards is coming to the Regal Theater on Tuesday,
the eighteenth of November. You can get all the details
at John Edward dot net. And he's joining us this morning.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Good morning, Hey, welcome John, Good morning guys, Thanks for
having me, Thanks.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
For coming back to town. Always a very very popular show.
I would say, what can we expect from the show,
But I guess it's the usual. That's what people want.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Pretty much. I have spent a lot of years doing this,
and every time I try to teach a little bit
in the beginning or change things up or come up
with something that people want, They're like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's great. Can I ask you a question you're reading?
Pretty much? Yeah, it's pretty much going to be crossing
Over live exactly.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
I love that speaking crossing over. I can't believe it's
been twenty years since that game changer of a TV show,
crossing Over with John Edward. We're talking about two thousand.
How much did it change your life? And that incredible success.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
It changed my life in a really, really big way
because it took it took reach of my teaching and
made it global. And I had I had been used
to being known for fifteen years before the show even air,
Like I was doing this work for fifteen years, So
I jokingly say I was a fifteen year overnight sensation.
So I knew what it felt like. Be like, no,
I knew it. I knew it. Stain felt like early

(01:18):
and that like that, Like I was over that already.
So this just blew it up in a much bigger
way and platform, and I kind of appreciated it from
the teaching standpoint, and I thought that was an amazing
opportunity and gave me the opportunity to travel the world.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Your latest book is called Chasing Evil. That sounds heavy.
What is what is going on with the book?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, this is a big departure. So this is a
non John Edwards, new John Edward book where my co
author is an FBI agent and he I have helped
him on a number of his cases over the last
twenty five years. And this is the culmination of telling
that story for the first time publicly because I never

(02:00):
really discussed it.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Ah, this is what really really interests me when you know,
when you do hook up with an FBI agent, the
stories that come out of that.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
He came to me to expose me as a fraud initially.
So it's a little bit it's a little bit of
an interesting kind of a yeah, a little bit of
a journey. You know, he came in, he came in
as a very big cynic, and then he left as
a Okay, my mind's a little bit blown right now,
can you help me further on this cave? And then
that turns into another case, and that turned into another case,

(02:32):
and you know, so the book is kind of narrated
from his perspective, with me inters first helping him out
along the journey.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
A lot of very big cynics in the legal area,
you know, almost begrudgingly say, yeah, I'm there's a lot
of you know, people that are just talk a lot
of nonsense, but there are some that they just can't dispute,
have something.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
And I think that's the same every field, right, I'm sure,
Like you know, when you guys are talking off air casually,
you know, in the break room, and you're talking about
people in your industry that have come or gone or
new on the scene, you know, if you look at
it by comparison to like, you know, what you guys
are doing, to what people do on social media, you
have an opinion of like Wow, that's not that's not journalism,

(03:21):
that's not broadcasting, that's not real, that's.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
That's ego, that's this and every.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Now and again, right, you'll come across some You'll come
across somebody and be like, Wow, if this person had
that platform on radio twenty years ago, they would be huge.
So I think in any field we can see that.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
By that result though, with that, God, that's got to
be a bit ast way for you. That's incredible. And then
the suite at the end is good.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah. I have to tell you I'm a little bit anxious.
For the first time ever in my career. I've never
been anxious about something coming out, and this is the
thing that I've been the most anxious about.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Well, I'm not a psychic, John, but I foresee that
this is going to be very successful. John. I'd no
doubt a lot of people stop you in the streets,
at dinner parties, you know, wherever you are. But if
you ever stopped a person in the street because you've
picked up on something really strong.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
It's not the norm. So ninety nine point nine percent
of the time, I'm never going to do that because
it's never it's never okay to ambush somebody. If they're
not asking me to do that, it's inappropriate for me
to answer the vibrations. Okay, early on, when I was
a you know, a baby medium called me a small
back then, I would say that it might have happened.

(04:33):
It might have happened once, you know, but I wasn't.
I wasn't very well versed on the ethics involved with
doing this work.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Absolutely, and I imagine you would think you were doing
the right thing, you know, straight in there.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, yeah I did, and it turns out I didn't.
It turned out negatively. So don't do anything.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Related to that.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
John.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
How about fans, mate, you I know everyone wants a reading,
but at fans? Can they be quite rabbit? Did they
hide in the garden? What guys on there?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
No, people are just a genuine, really respectful as appreciative
of like all of the yeah, all of the work
that I've done and the energy that I've done, and
I think also the style that I bring to it,
meaning like my intention is to My intention is to teach.
My intention is to help people, and you know, when
people come to an event, I'm going to read the
people that are going to get read, Like I have

(05:19):
no control over that, but I make the event of
participatory thing for everybody so we can all share in
that experience. And I think that's what That's what I
love about what I do is that I can help
so many people in the public environment, whether it be
on the radio or doing a public event. I'm doing
a live on Evolved Blows like whatever it is that

(05:39):
I'm doing, I know that I could reach people and
I can get them. I can get them to think,
and I think that's the important part. If I could
get people to think about the possibility that their lovels
and friends are still with them and that they're still
in connection with them, and I can validate that a
little bit, then it's more about their relationship with their
grief and their loved ones rather than John Edward the

(06:00):
sakic medium from crossing over. Yeah, that's my goal, and that.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Is why your shows are so so popular. And the
next one is eighteenth of November, as I said, Tuesday,
at the Regal Theater. For the details and the tickets
go to John Edward dot net. We look forward to
having you back in town.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
John the catch up again.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Man. Can't wait to be back.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Thank you, Thank you, Bye. John Edward wonderful, and he's nervous,
he's anxious about the new book.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, but I think that'll be amazing.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Yeah, sounds good. That great story of two
