Lori Clairs, wife of Clairsy, popped into the studio for a heartfelt chat about him leaving the show. Lisa quizzed her on whether Clairsy was really quiet getting ready at 3:30am, how the pair first met at a listener event, and what’s next for the two of them.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Thank you for putting him in always such a good
mood when he when he said him in the morning,
because I have to deal with the fallout.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Well, that's because he has a full lunch box with
him at all time.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
I know, I know, I don't much. What are you
talking about?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
So how are you feeling about it?

Speaker 1 (00:27):
All?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Mixed feelings, actually nervous. I know he's really excited and
I am too, but I'm nervous. I'm nervous with how
he's going to feel next week, not getting up. Yeah,
I'm pretty excited about it. Yeah, but I do have
a little bit of nerve. Nervous because you must be
sick to death of getting work. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Well, as you're driving in today, I said to him,
surely we're going to the airport.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Does he does?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
He do the right and put his clothes in another
room and get ready and doesn't you know, turn everything.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
That hang on? He still blow dries his hair. He
blow his hair, Oh yes, and I don't blow dry
my hand. It's part of his routine. He likes to
feel well groomed on his way to work.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Dry your hair. Does someone tried twelve years twelve years
of breakfast, you might as well use go to another bathroom.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
He does, go to the other bathroom.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, and I feed the cat and all that kind
of stuff. Yeah, it is just a real day. It's
also loss. He probably will call you, Laurie. It is
strange because a lot of people are a bit shocked.
You've got the sixty and he's full in the pin.
But it's about not I didn't want to keep going
and getting up that early for any longer and and
pulling it later. So it's not it's a sad day,
but it's also got a lot of excitement to.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Touch it absolutely, which we've been talking.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
About for a couple of years.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Now. The way you two met not entirely conventional. Yeah,
and certainly well and truly orchestrated by you.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I'll let you tell.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
This day, do we tell?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, I mean you know the story. Well, there's a
lot of people if you haven't heard the story. I
met Lauri through a radio contest when I was working
at Mixed and it was a competition called date my
Dad were a young fellow rode in and said, my
dad's single blah blah blah. So we've got a whole
lot of women to send in photos and bios and
put them online, put them online, and one of the
ninety five people who put it on was one Lori

(02:25):
Claire and may.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
I add I was forced to yeah, yeah, exactly. It
wasn't really much.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
This guy was meant to pick three women or something
for a date and he never saw your photo. That photo,
so I smell on the floor funny that I saw
that photo, and I went, I have to meet this
person in my it's not your personal Yeah I know
it wasn't. But I wide ended this guy and the
producer wouldn'tive it give me her detail. So I got
my mate Dan who was working there, our mat D.

(02:53):
He gave me the details and I sent Lauri a
message and I said, this guy doesn't pick you, he's
got rocks in his head. And I think you thought
I'd send that to every everyone have thought all.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
These other ninety five women have got exactly the same message. Yea.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
So at the function, he didn't pick Lurry right as
his girlfriend Fire out of circular and so we got
married at Mosmon's a few years later.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, and the rest is history.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Is absolutely Yeah. So it was a good good wife.
Anting I did.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Best thing that ever happened to you.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I mean Clary and I go way back. We've known
each other since we were about twenty, so I've seen
him through a few you know, I bet your hand
he like I said, you want, you want to be
with someone whose face lights up the way closes does
when he talks about you. And I've benefited from that because,
as I said, You've sent him into me each morning

(03:45):
a happy man. So we thank you for that, Laurie.
We thank you for sharing him with us all these years.

Yeah, sorry, love that today wasn't about the airport.

Plenty of things to time.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I have been told Lory has said, don't find any work,
MC work or anything for a couple of weeks, like
actually stop for a change.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
So yeah, people, and what are you doing tonight? Work?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Well that was set up and I love working with
the doctors, you know what I'm like, I wouldn't miss
