Speaker 1 (00:10):
I heard podcasts, hear more mix one or two point
three podcasts, playlists and listen live on the free iHeart.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
App Alright, we've been talking about a ZMP all week,
the positives, the negatives.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
We had a doctor on yesterday talking about it.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
This all started because a girl had emailed us, going,
I'm on the fence, what do I do?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
I've tried everything.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Kellie sent us an email and we just wanted to help.
So we've heard positives, yeah, we've heard negatives.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
And someone that's been very quiet in the studio during
this is the third person in the studio, the guy
that pushes all of our buttons. You hear him say
good morning every day, burgo Hey, now Bird wants to
use wants to say a few things because this is
something that's quite close to you, and you have been
considering a zen pick yourself.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Yeah, I mean, you know, as someone who's bigger and has,
like Oprah, fluctuated with weighe up and down over the years.
It's something I've looked into every day. I've gone to
look at available doctor's appointments, and then I'll chicken out
because I've been too scared. So actually hearing these stories
of the positives and the negatives have been really good
to help me sort of make my decision. I've done

(01:14):
it without drugs before. I've considered do I need surgery.
I've considered do I need these drugs? But I go
through every day knowing that I'm biggert and being very
conscious of being a fat person.

Speaker 5 (01:27):
We had a call on our very first day. I
forget his name. He's from angele Vale.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
He called in and he said, I am one hundred
and eighty kilos and I go through every day knowing
that when I sit down, like at a cafe or
at a pub, and someone sees me eating hot chips,
I know they're judging me.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yeah, one hundred percent the shame. And I eat in
secrets sometimes. And I thought, what you're going to say
when you said he sits down, I have to worry about?
Is a chair going to hold me?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I've seen that as well.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Wherever a week go, I see you stand back and
you go, do you reckon that chair is going to
hold me?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
You're not that big. You're not going to break a chair, Birch.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
No, I would.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Doesn't that irritate you that you even feel like you
have to have that thought because and I asked this
because you, as you said before, you have yo yoed,
and previously you have had a moment where you're like
stuff that I'm losing and you lost like thirty five
kilos or whatever.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yeah, you can do it.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
You know you can do it. Doesn't it annoy you
to have to be in that position?

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah, I mean, it's just like, it's just the reality
of what it is. And if I really wanted to
make a change, I know the right things to do.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
You know.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
I'm not one of those people that's like I've tried everything,
because I'm not trying anything at the moment.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
I am just and we see that.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Like I went out for dinner with a mate last night.
We had Chinese and then two deep fried ice creams afterwards.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
So it's delicious, but it's too much.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
It's too much.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
The hard thing I guess with you is you always
are jovial about it. You'll always make jokes about it.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Because if I have to be the first one to
do it, because if someone else does it hurts. That's painful,
and that hurts. So I have to do it first.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
So do you know that's a really good thing to know,
because It's kind of like the rac thing. If you
say a certain way, you can talk about it, but
if you're not, you can't. Is that kind of how
it works? Because I know that we might be lulled
into a little bit to go. You're making a joke
about it, we can like joke along, but that actually hurts.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
But yeah, I'll say it because it's obvious. So I'll
say it because you're probably thinking it. But I don't
want you to join in. I don't want you to
pile on.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
No, I'm just saying not thinking it though.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Bit no, but some people do. I've been I've been
in situations before, for example, like on a street at
a nightclub at two am eating a piece of pizza.
What you do after a couple of days that I've
done that, and some guy walked past me and he
hit me in the belly. He goes, you should be
eating it efan salad. You're fatty. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Oh so that made me feel horrenda.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
But it's more about why do people think they've got
the right to make these comments. I can lose weight,
but you're still a dick.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I think that as someone like we're quite good friends
and you and I we do make jokes about it,
and I hope you realize that a lot of them
are jokes. A lot of the time. I'm pretty sure
that you do. I wouldn't make them if we weren't
good mates. And the only reason I make them is
because it's like, it's like coping mechanism almost, it's like
a dealing with death thing. The way that I deal
with death is to make jokes about it and with you.

(04:07):
Instead of being like, you don't want to hear me
coming here every day and be like, don't do that,
don't eat that, Like I'm not who amarted to preach
to you?

Speaker 4 (04:14):
But if you like, but who are you to make
a joke?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Though?

Speaker 4 (04:16):
No?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
But see, it's only because I care about you do.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
It in a different way. You the other day were
a shoot for some videos I know you to say,
and there was a really delicious looking cake. It did
look good, caramel boy, and it had to get out
of the shot and you handed it to me and
you said in front of a room full of strangers.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
They could not hear.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
No, they did because one of them laughed. You said,
can I trust you with this cake?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
It was just between that was I only say those
things between the three of us in here, but no.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
You said it in front of people that I'd never
met before. A better alternative. If you are concerned and
as a mate, just pull me aside and go I'm
here for you if you want me to walk with you,
if you want me to run with you, if you
want me to.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Do it every morning, though in my own way I
do it every morning.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I know, but jokes in front of strangers are cheap.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
That's actually that's a that's a good point.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
That's good for everybody to know that, because you can
joke about it, but we can't joke about it. The
hard thing for you, Burg is as I've known you
for so many years and I love you as a friend.
You're with my best friend. We have known each other
for like fourteen years, and you have a daughter, and
I look at you and I want you to be
around forever. But you love Sophie more than anything on

(05:26):
this earth. You are like the best dad in the world, unbelievable,
like she is your person. I know that eating is
an addiction, as not eating is an addiction. Does it
ever occur to you that you want to.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Be fit for you can't run around with my kid.
My mates run around with my kid more than I
can run around with my kid. I can't run as
with my kid. I can't play with my kid how
I want to play with my kids.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
So I've seen you do it before. What's holding you
back doing it again?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I don't know. I love bad food. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
I don't know, and I will.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
This is the thing with addiction, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
It's fiction and you need it to click and no
one can tell you, no one can joke, no one
can tell you anything. You need it to click for yourself,
and you go, I've had enough of this and I'm
going to do it.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Do you think after this week where we've heard all
of these people come on with this stories and they've
said a lot of this has been about the injectables,
and they've been like the doctor I think is probably
summed up the best. And it's just like, as part
of changing your habits, doing something like this, like it changes.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
Your whole life.

Speaker 7 (06:23):
Yeah, do it for so you have to have these
habits because as she said, as Hailey says, can you
imagine like rolling in tomorrow and being like I feel sick,
going to the doctor and finding out you've got diabetes
or something.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Well, you can help you, though all your friends that
care about you can't help you.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
I know, but I've got to do it, Okay to
click what.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
I want to say. I know you do.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I know, I know you, and I love you and
I want to help you. I will say if we
are going to be open and honest about this, and
if you're okay with this, I want to talk about
You're not naturally a big person.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
You do eat bad food.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
You will always go for the creamy pasta or you'll
go for the soft drink or whatever. You just have
to cut out one thing and you would lose so
much weight. There is something that you do do and
if you want to be held accountable. We all laugh
about it. Max doesn't know what you do. But are
you're okay if we share it?

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Next that thing I told you I'm do in private?

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, but you told everybody else.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Okay, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
If you talk about it, maybe you won't do it again.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Adelaide, just know this. It's really bad and if you
saw me, you'd go, oh, that's why he's fat.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
We just had a real powerful conversation in the studio.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
We talk about a zembic and weight loss all week
and Bergo here in the studio has just revealed his
struggles that he goes through being in his own words,
a bigger man, and the struggles you.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Have with running after Sophie, after your daughter.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
And he has done it. He's lost like thirty five
kilos before. But have you put it all back on?

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Yeah, I'll put more back on. And that's what happens.
You go back and you put more on. You know,
you get it. I'm inspired every day and then I
just fall off straight away.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Well, you speaking about it inspires people to call in
on thirty one or two through Thomas and Campbelltown's done
exactly that morning, Thomas.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
What do you want to say to Bergo.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Morning guys, Berjo, I just want to say, like I'm
emotional thinking about it, thank you for it saying what
you wanted to say. And all I can say is
this was me six months ago. When I can tell
you're looking for that line, you're right there and to
be able to speak about it publicly, I feel like
you're just on the edge. And all I can say
is motivation is fleeting, but discipline is what you need first,

(08:25):
and motivation will follow man, So you'll just take that leap.
Small changes and you're going to get there.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Tom. I appreciate people like you, man. I appreciate people
that encourage and you want to help and be that
that voice, like you got the devil on your shoulder
who's like, have that next brownie, don't do it, and
then you've got the angel who's like, it's okay, you
can do this.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
That's lovely.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
You're welcome, guys. Small changes, small.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Changes, all right, excellent.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Thomas was running like a motivational Yeah, sermon, I would go.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
I would go too, I like Thomas.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Next, we're going to reveal something that Burgo does in
secret that I think you want to talk about it.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
So you never do it again in secret and shame.
Oh my god, what a fitting song, Jimmy eat well.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Mate.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Burgo has just opened up today.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
We've been talking about his empic all week and he's
opened up because he's been sitting here silently in the
studio considering a zempick as well. He's had his big
weight loss battles over the years. He's lost a lot
of weight thirty five kilos a few years ago to
put it back on, and he's just been really vulnerable
about why he wants to lose weight but also why
he can't.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Yeah, he's addicted.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
He's addicted to bad food.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
It is an addiction. Yeah. And I was just saying
to you guys off air, like there are days where
you go, I've got this, I'm strong, I'm going to
do my shaker, I'm going to do my healthy meal,
or I'm going to do whatever it is, and then
you fall off the wagon and I'll be here at
work and then I leave and I'm like, you know what,
I'll just get that cheeky mac is on the way
home or whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Yeah, but once you start, you're on that health kick.
It's addictive as well.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Yeah. When I was on it last time, I weighed
every day.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
We want to support anyway that we can. We've had
people calling in with support. I have learnt that the
way that I support you is sometimes not a great
way because you and I make jokes, but you're not
happy with them.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
That's right. But we can do but not jokes, but
we can talk about it because we are all friends.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Well, another way to support is that the three of
us can hold each other accountable for things.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
And I think that's what's about to happen now. So
now you've spoken about it and we're all behind you.
I've got my girlfriends texting me. We've had people call
in like the last five minutes just saying congratulations. One
of the things that you do do and being open
and honest about it, is you eat really bad food.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
You drink soft drink. You have so much sugar. You
just are drawn to bad food.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
One of the things that you revealed to us at
the office the other day, Max, wasn't there was something
that you do in private that if you talk about
it now, maybe you won't do it again because it's
not a good thing.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
No, I think. I think it's funny.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
I like I like that, and I know.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
It's so bad.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Funny but bad.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
It's disgusting. When I will make pancakes for my daughter
on a Sunday morning, say we'll have pancakes Sunday love pancakes.
I'll do the shaken you know, the shaken them you
don't want to make them, And I'll put the mixture
in the pan, let it fry away, and I'll have
a couple of chugs of the raw mixture.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
He has a glass of pancakes.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
I don't have a glass. I just drink it out
of it.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
You would if you could.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Isn't it better as a as a made pancake liquid form?

Speaker 4 (11:23):
So delicious? And what you'll find is that you're not
cooking it in the butter or the oil, and you're
not putting syrup on it. So it's actually probably But
I knew you guys would knock it. I knew Maxim Knocket.
So what I've prepared is a couple of glasses of
pancake batter, pancake juice. Bella has walked in with the
pancake butter for you guys to try.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Oh my god, this is like a cowboy. It's so
deep sucker, it's thick, like in dense milk.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Can we look? I'm happy to get this ago. I
love pancakes. I'm sure it's going to taste delicious. I
also know it's atrocious for you. Can we use this
as like some sort of line in the sand last hurrah?

Speaker 5 (12:01):
Can it be like a bit of.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
A last hurrah for us that at the very least
we cut out raw pancake but.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Weak muzzled off right now and then say this is
the last time we will ever drink pancake batter from
a glass here.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Good cheers, cheers, have a sweek, and let me know
what you think. It's really good. It's so good. It's good.
It's hard to get.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
It's so thick, it's hard to come down the glass

Speaker 4 (12:26):
At He's gone back for a second, shockingly
