the Popeye.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
It's going to be amazing. Billies is on board. They're
giving us some Port Adelaide donuts. We're going to have
a Travis Boat like cut out on the front like
the Mermaid on the Pirate ships. And it's all for
one man. Yeah, one man who is a legend of
is a future Hall of Famer.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
He is for sure should be a statue in South
Australia of this guy.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Going to be his three hundred and eighty seventh game.
It's his nineteenth season, a two time All Australian, two
time based in Faris and he's on the phone to
us right now. Travis Boke.

Everybody, Good morning, Good morning, guys.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
How are we doing? Oh my god, I feel like.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
We're talking to like the biggest celebrity in the world
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Travis, you are so loved.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Did you do you realize before you announce your timement
just how what of an impact you've had on the
people of South Australia.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Ah nah, there's no way. The messages of support and
you know, whether it's on social media or it's been
on the news or whatever it is on radio, it's
been incredible and I'm just so grateful for all the
messages that I have got. And when you look back
on your footy career, like now that I've played, you

(01:36):
know for so long, Like I think early days, all
I wanted to do was play footy and be good
at footy, and then towards the end you just want
to be able to impact more than just the game.
And to hear those messages. Yeah, it's really special, Travia.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
We had all sorts of people calling in the day
you were retired. We were like, oh, we'll talk about
Travis Boke for three minutes and then people can call
in if they want. We ended up doing an entire
hour because people kept calling in. We've clipped up a
couple of them here, including some famous voices, just to
show you the impact you've had on a few of
our listeners too.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Much love by right for in the floors and the
footy club that pretty much every on across parts of
him has got a great thing to say about him.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
This level of longevity only comes with extraordinary resilience.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
He stay true at one club player and I don't
think we see enough about me after all these days.
Just a great servant to the club. It's a tough one.
So thank you missus, rubbers Boke, and we'll be listening you.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
We had some tears Travy, there was Homer Shark, Peter Malanowska.
So then one of your cheer squad members called in crime.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
It's actually that's actually making me teer up now too.
I'm on the on the way into training, so I need,
I want to need to freshen up after that. But
it's yeah, some of those messages has been so incredible,
Like I've just been blown away by you know how
how kind people have been and it's nice to know
that you have had some impact on not only footy

(02:59):
club but outside the footy club as well. Has its
been been so special?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Can I just say right now this week especially, we
need a hero in football and you are that hero.
You are someone that all the kids look up to
have you and not just for your work on the
footy field, like for people who just love you because
you are a kind person. Have you got a proud
moment that the proudest moment you've had off the field.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Yeah, for sure. I definitely think it would be involved
with my involvement with the CCA and one of the
one of the yes, sorry, the Childhood Cancer Association, one
of the kids there who went through I meet him
almost in my first couple of years while I was
at at the hospital for him to now Ryan Allis

(03:46):
is his name, for him to run out with me
when he was sick, to come through remission, and then
to now be playing at s NFL level football and
pushing to get drafted like that, that's the stuff that
makes me feel, you know, warm inside and amazing that
you're able to have some sort of impact along the way,

(04:08):
you know, being involved in footy, but then to inspice
someone to continue their battle, which is way more than football,
to get to where they are now. And that's just
one story from that moment. Like it's really really special
to see that ye're a good.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Man, Trevor. You're in the car, you are on your
way to Alberton for your final training session after nineteen
seasons in the NFL. How does that feel.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
I've tried not to say too much of this is
my final, this, this is my final that, but it's
starting to hit in. Yesterday I started to probably get
a little bit more emotion, a little bit sad. I
was kind of just moping around the house at times,
and I'm just, yeah, I'm just really excited to go
in and see the boys again. Like I've only got
basically two days left with them. You know, they're the

(04:56):
reason you play football, that, you know, sitting in the
changes with them, the banter, the hard times, the good times.
So to go out and yeah, one more captain's run
and then one more time at Adelaide was going to be
going to be really nice.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
That locker out, mate, Have you got a messy locker
that's so sad and neat? Locker are so neat.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
It's not the needs, that's for sure. I've got. I've
got a lot of hats in there, a lot of
boots sitting at the bottom. So yeah, I do, I do.
I'll have to take a big garbage bag in and
clean out a fair bit of stuff. But yeah, that's
got'd be a sad moment as well.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Hey, can we just just I know you're on you're
driving to you to your last training. We just have
a really important question that we want to ask you.
Can you stick around with us?

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Travis?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
We had thoughts on We just want to put you
in our Wall of truth and ask you a question
that everyone is dying to know the answer to.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
All right, sure can?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Look at him?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
So willing Travis Boke in the Wall of Truth next
with Haley and Max on Mixed one two point three.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
TRAVI, the Wall of Truth works like this. We usually
ask each other really tough questions and the other person
has to answer it truthfully. Today it's you, I know, intense.
Can you feel the pressure? Nervous?

Speaker 4 (06:03):
I'm very nervous. I'm very nervous.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
It's not that bad, but it's one. I watched your
farewell press conference and I've heard a few of your
little chats since then, and everyone says, what's happening next, Travis,
what's having next? And you haven't really locked anything in.
So your Wall of Truth question today, Travis Folk, for
our listeners, is what's actually going to be happening next
for Travis Folk.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Right, Okay, here's the exclusive. Firstly, I'll be going on
a holiday, that is correct, yep. And then from there,
I have a decision to make where my heart wants
me to go into performance coaching, life coaching, mentoring. That's
the space that I want to get into, whether that's

(06:48):
in corporate business, whether that's in sport, whether that's in schools.
That's kind of the field that I want to go into.
So I'm not sure if I'll be working at a
football club or with athletes or in corporate, but that's
kind of the area that I want to get into.
It's something that I've been fortunate enough to learn over
the last six or seven years and now in position
that I've learned so much. But hopefully I can help

(07:09):
someone in that space as well.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
I love that that is the best answer ever.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
It's a great answer. Has the footy club port at
later anyone just flip your little text saying thoughts on
being a little coachy coach of some description.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
So I have had discussions with some with some footy clubs.
So yeah, my decision to stay in footy I'm not
sure of yet. That's the complete truth. But I think
you know, a month away from the game will probably
want me to. It will be enough to get me
back into it. So yeah, I've got to decide where
I end up.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
God to you to play amateur footy next year. Am
I going to have to play against Travis Boke? You're
not going to do C grade?

Speaker 4 (07:49):
That's two questions.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
I thought it was right, Max, I will.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
I will give you the answer that I will be
going back to talk here at some stage and playing
at Talkie, my home club. I always said that I'll
go back there and play, so I'm looking forward to
that as well.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
That'll be a big day at the class.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Before we let you go, Travis Bok, I know you're
about to just do your final training. Have you got
a message to the fans, your fans.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Who just love you. This isn't just support fans, because
as we've found out, Crows fans and all AFL fans,
they can't find bad things. So I've universally loved. So
I have just a message for everyone. Really, they're all fine.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
I have had I have had some great messages from
Crows fans and AFL fans alike, and I just want
to say thank you for all your support. Without the
support of the fans, there's no way I could have
been playing for nineteen years. And yeah, there's there's tough times,
there's good times, but they certainly get you through when
you're when you're out in the field and they're cheering

(08:45):
so loud and message you after games and they're always
there no matter what. So thank you so much, and
I hope you continue to enjoy the footy and put
adelaid footy in particular.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Thanks for being such an amazing person.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Trav Thank you very much. It's been a good ride.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
You are the man. One last ride tomorrowments get a win.
It happened, and then you can have one meal beers
after the game.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Track you three beers. I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah boy, thank you very much, Travis Boke. We will
wave to you from our Travis boat tomorrow night. Your legend.

Speaker 4 (09:30):

the word I was Travis.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
