And I would just write to ring and thank you
for an instagram a thing that you had on your
program or well over twelve months ago about Tracy who
went on a.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Website little yes, yes, Tracy, Yeah, yeah, she was married
but sort of the relationship was really scale and in
her head she was trying to work out if it
was over. And then she got onto a website and
wanted to meet a man.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Yeah, okay, absolutely correct, So intrigue to me. I followed
story as I was listening to the program, followed it,
followed it, listening to her, the status of her relationship, etc.
And you know, the doesn't think for twenty years really
shook me. About twenty days would be enough. But anyway,
she put up with it, and I thought I was

(01:07):
I was interested see where it ended up. And then
she got to the hotel room and infection.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah and he.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Wanted her to pay half the bill. My god, is
that the way life is?

Speaker 5 (01:19):
Now?

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Anyway, I thought, right, I'm going to give this a go.
I'm going to give this a crack. I thought, I'm
going to have a got this.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Okay, what so were you married like Tracy was?

Speaker 4 (01:29):
I was. I've moved that, but very very quickly, let's
put this. I was legally legally.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
Okay, married, okay, all the way seated.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
So anyway, so I'm going to give this a go.
I've never done this before, so I'm going to give
this a going out of a bit of help. I'm
having lots of laughter. And on the way you talking
about yeah, on that thing that Tracy was on.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
On the website's right, so it's okay, s so this
is coming out of the blue.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Right, So essentially you heard this on the radio.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
What I'm presuming you and the work girls or whoever
got together doing it, yeah, yeah, and put you on
the website.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
What happened, well, so what happened was, well, firstly, some
of them were that ulgly. The tide wouldn't take them out.
I thought, if this is, if this is what the
this is what the law below offered to me. The
universe has got to give to me. I'm out. Then
there was I saw so many appendages I couldn't shake
a stick up.

Speaker 7 (02:26):
So I thought I was just sending the pictures over
where they Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
So I thought, why would a man ever ever think
if you appeal to any future prospects.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Kate, I don't get it.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
That is one thing Willie pictures. I just don't understand.
It's the least attractive part of a man, right.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
It's I said.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
I said, it's just absolutely horrendous. So I got talking
to this particular person, and you know how you're battered
with a person and they get it. Like one of
the things I said was what are you thinking? And
he comes back and gives it absolute cracker of an answer.
Was Normally the person I was with would have said

(03:05):
to him, what are.

Speaker 8 (03:06):
You on it down?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
I don't understand you know?

Speaker 9 (03:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (03:10):
He got you yeah right.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
He got everything. You know, he got everything that. The
party was absolutely incredibly ingenuous, witty, quick, everything. So this
went on for two or three weeks. So then I
said to him, Oh, come on, I'm an old woman.
I've got you know, I've got I'm going to take
this chance he said, we're woman with me. I said,
get down here to my players. Come down, I said,

(03:33):
if you know, I thought, if you killed me, rate me,
pillage me, whatever, will saw be it? If that's it,
I saw it done.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
So you're diving into the world of online.

Speaker 7 (03:43):
Dating and you're going to say this person for the
first time that you don't know else you don't know
if it's going to be a hundred year old, five
hundred kilo elephant man and you've invirought himTo your house.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
It could have been two hundred and fifty kilograms of
prime beef as all. That's why I was risking somewhat.
As a matter of fact, they didn't sleep on that
the night before. Shut up, make up done, hair done,
a lot, running the hair, sat up on the couch,
blah blah blah. He comes to the door.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Hey, I just want to go back, Kate.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Hey, you go to the hairdresser and you get your hair.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Done, everything's done, and then this is so what I do, Kate,
And you get your hair done, and then you gotta
lie really still through the night so you don't mess
it up.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
So you sat in the couch so I didn't get
messed up.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
The couch in the other room, the couch, and so
I've got that Simon's nervous as all, how are you
thinking he's not at the dawn and say, I'm not
going to answer it. I'm not going to answer it anyway,
don't get down out for the door and.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
My god, Okay, hang on a second.

Speaker 7 (04:44):
We need, I think, a lot more time to get
through this, because I reckon, we're about to get some
pretty good payoff to your story.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
Can you just hang around with us for a second.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
We're going to get the endicate story next allus anytime
on thirty one and two. So we've taken a call
from Take this morning. She was listening along to our show.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
Last year we.

Speaker 7 (05:01):
Did a whole thing with someone named Tracy who was
having an affair and exploring online dating. And listening to
all of that has encouraged Kate. It's pushed a little
bit over the edge. It's encouraged her to jump out
of her old relationship look for some more happiness into
online dating for the very first time.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
And she's telling us a full story. At the moment.

Speaker 7 (05:21):
We are just up to the moment, Kate, where this
man has rocked up at your door for your very
first meeting.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
So I've got it. I'm as nervous as all. How
I'm thinking he's not at the darns. I'm not going
to answer it. I'm not going to answer it anyway.
So I get sent out to the door and my god,
it was like an instant thunderbolt. It was like just
something on both sides.

Speaker 10 (05:43):
Yeah, on both sides.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
So I went a long hallway. Well I'm not putty,
made it halfway down.

Speaker 6 (05:53):
Really, yess your hair up, Kate.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
The honest thing is it cost me, don't jump to
get my head on to the event through with about
who about an hour and a half sulking.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
So it went okay, darling, it's still going. Well, so
you're still together. So how long have you been with
this new love?

Speaker 11 (06:16):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Well since not long after the tracy of firs to
you more than that?

Speaker 8 (06:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (06:22):
Over that?

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Yeah, a week. I'm quite you know, I'm sure you know, realistic,
he was maybe pessimistic whatever, but this is love. I've
got it in a big way, okay.

Speaker 8 (06:39):
Versa.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
So I would like to say all females, all men,
any age, any crowd to here, and it's out there.
We believe, And I believe that he was there all
the time. I was there for him all the time.
I mean, one little story I'll tell you. I was
here one night and he liked this particular condiment and
I liked it as well. So two o'clock in the morning,
I wouldn't going to get that in the morning for

(07:00):
him is coming. He brought the same thing.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Oh this is a much this is so well, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
He brought the same thinks. He said, all brought this
to I know you like it? And I said, we
look in the cupboard, Oh.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
I love this.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
And is he changing you like is he encouraging you
to try new things like TV shows and stuff like that?

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Or what I said, you know we can? I mean,
what what person? We sit and watch masks together married
with you know what man does that with you? It's
absolutely that's one of our best times. That is we said,
watch it together.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I love it.

Speaker 13 (07:37):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
The other one say the other one to say, what
you're watching? That made Rubbi but him and I just.

Speaker 10 (07:43):
Said what he says.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Come on at seven thirtys on.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Okate.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
All of your work, girls and the people that helped
you get on this journey, are they just loving this
for you.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Oh yeah, everybody in my life now will absolutely context
and absolutely say to you, we are meant to be.
I'm the happiest I've ever been in ever. He he's
good for me because he's bringing up their own mantic
side of me, which ims to say, well, you know,
he used to see couples all of it, but not
in a private think Oh my god, I see, my god,

(08:16):
what's that all about? But now I know what it's about.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
Yeah, you're one of them.

Speaker 7 (08:22):
So, yeah, you've lucked out here and you would like
to give us one tiny little bit of credit for
helping you set up.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Your entire life, and you know when you did do
you know what? We did very little. We're more than
happy for you, Kate.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
I think the biggest thing out of this is you
actually saying, Hey, if you're in a time where you're
not happy, there is a chance at love, and maybe
there is that you know, get the confidence to go
after it.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
I'm so damn happy for you. Girl.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Well listen to me. This is an old woman can
crack it yet. Man, you still look.

Speaker 6 (08:56):
Hot yeah after that haircut.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yeah. And by the way, if you get married, we're
more than happy. To come to the wedding.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Okay, well yeah, well I'll invite you. But it might
be yeah, it might be watch carl It. It might
be some faraway land.

Speaker 6 (09:12):
Preferably midweek for us.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
We can broadcast there.

Speaker 6 (09:16):
It's great into it.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
I got an even better you prepare.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
For it.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
Already.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Thank you so much for being part of our mixed family.
I think you are absolutely our matriarch. And we just
hope this love affair continues forever for you guys.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
It will you can rest to share it will. It's
gonna chap me out in a box. Thank you, bye,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Sometimes, as you know, I get a little bit antsy
because I think we can be surrounded by negative.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
News and yeah, and also I think.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Sometimes people are a little bit down on the younger generation. Well,
I came across something on Facebook and it came courtesy
of ten year old Jackson, who goes to Saint Agnes's Primary,
and I wanted to introduce him to you. Jackson, good morning,
hello Now Jackson, you play for the t Tree Gully
District Footy Club, right yep? And do you want to

(10:14):
tell everybody what you got your mum to help you
post on just the t Tree Gully Local Area Facebook page.

Speaker 14 (10:21):
Yes, the awards that I have been earning and from footy,
I keep putting them up for people who need them
more than me because I wanted to make a difference
to the world and help people, yeah, that are struggling
at this point in time with the expenses.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
And when you say these awards, these aren't ribbons or
trophies or anything. These are actually food vouchers from Good
to Go take Away. They've obviously done a bit of
a deal with your team, which is awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
And what you've got some what do you win them?

Speaker 14 (10:52):
You want them for either women them for sportsmanship or
we win them for best player.

Speaker 7 (10:58):
Mate Jackson. So there's a picture that accompanied the post.
Jackson's got a couple of little Junior Burger and Chips vouchers.
I love it this chip shop out there in sant Agnes.
Good to Go take Away, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Give them a big place.

Speaker 7 (11:10):
And it got a whole heat of feedback, over one
thousand likes, one hundred and fifty comments on it.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
Jackson. Did you find some people to take the vouchers?

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Yes, Jackson.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Do you often think about doing things like this and
is this something that your Mum, is really or your
parents have really reminded you of or is it just
something that you do by yourself.

Speaker 14 (11:32):
Mum reminded me, and then Ice, and then I remember
that I had some vouchers, and there we decided to
start doing it because we know how much people keep struggling.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
Jackson.

Speaker 7 (11:43):
It's such a mature few that you have for a
ten year old. Why do you want to help these people?

Speaker 14 (11:48):
Because I want to be a role model to other kids,
and I want to make a difference, and I want
to highlight the facts that people are struggling. So we
all need to help one another and be grateful for
what we have.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Jackson, you're ten years of age. You're going to rule
the world. Son, You're so cool. Now. How how have
you been playing?

Speaker 6 (12:08):
Mate?

Speaker 7 (12:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Have you been playing? You guys going all right at
T Tree Gully and your.

Speaker 14 (12:12):
Team, Yeah, we're probably one of the best in the.

Speaker 7 (12:17):
Competition, have you, Jackson, because you've seen senior team we
don't have.

Speaker 14 (12:21):
When we don't have our best players, we sometimes fall
apart a bit, but then we come together and stop
pulling our back.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
I was just so taken by your kindness. I was
really and I told as soon as I got into work,
I said, you've got to see this. Can we possibly
speak to this gorgeous little boy? Is it all right
if you just hold the line because you are not
expecting anything, you aren't asking for anything, but we might
have a little surprise for you in just a moment.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Is that okay? Yep? All right.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
We are doing some good news this morning because there's
just too much stuff going on in the world.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
And it's come courtesy of ten year old Jackson.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
He goes to Saint Agnes Primary, but he also plays
for the t Tree Gully District footy Club, and he
decided to donate some prizes that he's been winning by
being a really good sports person or just sign great
sportsmanship to other people who might need the prizes more.

Speaker 7 (13:09):
He's also being a little bit modest because you also
get these vouchers for being the best player, which I
think Jackson might be at times when he's playing out there.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
For teacher guy.

Speaker 7 (13:16):
That he's got these vouchers for kids meals it good
to go take jumped on Facebook. Now he wants to
give them out.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Jackson, you're still with us?

Speaker 12 (13:26):
Yeah, yep?

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Well joining us now? Is your coach Gareth, good day mate.
You're the under ten's Reds.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Coach, are you.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Yeah, that's right, Alie, all right, well I absolutely love
that jack Gareth.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
What a little legend you have running around in your team.

Speaker 10 (13:41):
Yes, he's a pretty vocal little chap and he certainly
gets the team to rally around. And you know, we've
got lots of good little players on the team, but
Jackson's certainly up there is one of the best players
for sure, Gareth.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
Footy clubs are so good for bringing people together and
I mean, and for all the slack that they in
Copper Times, I actually can teach a lot of values,
especially in the under tens level. And it sounds like
you guys have just been preaching this big world to Jackson.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (14:11):
Look, the Teacher Gully Football Club does do a good
job and there's lots of programs that the s NFL
Juniors put out that you know, we try to encourage
the kids to get along to whether it's mental health
or just being respectful in the community. So you know,
we try to be respectful obviously, teach the kids respect
for the umpires, respect for each other, and respect for

(14:32):
the other team. And if you know, they might knock
someone over, they try to help them get up and
obviously be polite for the umpires because they're doing a
good job as well. So the club really does do
a good job of that sort of thing.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
So, Gareth, when you found out that Jackson is actually
giving away his burger and chip bouchers that he's been
winning on the footy field, what did you think.

Speaker 10 (14:49):
Obviously, he's come up with a great idea to give
it to people in the community, and we've got lots
of great sponsors around the Intry Gully and you know
there's quite a lot to of different food. But then
there's the sports shop at Golden Grove as well and
some other ones which he may have preferred. But look,
he's found a good way of paying it forward, I guess,

(15:10):
which is excellent Jackson.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
I think it's about time someone did the right thing.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
But yeah, now, you guys, it sounds like you're doing
just such a beautiful job there, Gareth, with the entire
team and Jackson, you are such a team man. So
what we thought we'd do we reached out to the
awesome people at Palace Nova and what they want to
do for you guys is you can take your entire
footy team and go and check out.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Any movie that's showing right now.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
But you can go and do it as a team maybe,
you know, if you're heading into finals, it could be
a good team bonding.

Speaker 6 (15:37):
Team bonding a private cinema for you.

Speaker 10 (15:40):
Go all right, that sounds amazing, guys. And look, we
don't do finals in under tens, but we normally do
an after sort of season dinner night, So that would
be amazing, That would be perfect.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Jackson, Is that alright with you?

Speaker 14 (15:52):
Yeah, that's fine with me.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
Now, Jackson, you're not glad to give this one away.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
You have to use You've got to go and enjoy
the movie, right, I will. So what how many more rounds?

Speaker 6 (16:02):
Three? Four, six years?

Speaker 10 (16:03):
I think we've got holidays and then I think only
three more rounds? The friends?

Speaker 14 (16:07):
Yeah, I do on my fiftief on the last round.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Oh, get banner, yeah, Gareth, we're getting a banner and
stuff for what Yeah?

Speaker 10 (16:15):
Yeah, we do banners. And there's been quite a few
kids that have had fifties in the team this year,
which is good for ten year old. They play a
lot of footage.

Speaker 6 (16:23):
Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
I love it all right, Jackson, Jackson, I don't know
what you're doing in about fifteen years time. But if
you want to go and run your beautiful port Our
Adelaide club, I reckon they'd take you there too.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I understand you go for them, work at the Power,
all right, Well you guys, from all of us.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Our yeah, Jackson, Jackson, you're a great kid. All the
very best of love, mate, Thank you, good luck, Gareth
for the rest of your season.

Speaker 10 (16:43):
Enjoyed those Thank you guys, really appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
All right, Max purfect.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
If I was to tell you Sesame Street's the greatest
show for kids ever, you believe me?

Speaker 6 (16:52):
Right, I would, I'd say it's a pretty good show
for adults.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
How long do you think it's been going.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
I watched it when I was a kid, so at
least thirty years.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
There are season fifty four and it's about to kick
off on ABC Kids every weekday morning from nine thirty
and joining us right now none other then Elmo, the
Count and Big First Morning guys.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
Old ay, oh.

Speaker 6 (17:18):
God, they're on Sesame Street. What's the weather like on
Sesame Street right now? Guys?

Speaker 13 (17:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 15 (17:27):
And it's funny, fun yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
You guys.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
We cannot wait.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
I cannot believe that you and all the crew have
been around.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
For fifty four seasons. You always bring.

Speaker 13 (17:39):
In it's crazier and I'm only six.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
You bring up not going.

Speaker 13 (17:48):
To how old I am? This is wonderful. I think
we would probably wait so long time. Ye, we'll see it.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
But when we were here, you always have some amazing
people stopping by Sesame Street. Who are some of the
coolest people that you think you've caught up with?

Speaker 13 (18:12):
We sure did.

Speaker 15 (18:13):
Yeah, nothing you mind. We had a playdate with Brandy Carlyle. Yeah,
and yeah, I bet I would love to go to
Sesame Street.

Speaker 7 (18:27):
Do you guys ever get sick of living on Sesame Street?
Have you ever thought about moving to a different street?

Speaker 16 (18:33):
Never?

Speaker 15 (18:34):
Yeah, it's where we live. And plus, I don't know
where I'd be able to fit my nest. It's just
quite large. I don't know where I could flood it
other than.

Speaker 6 (18:43):
Yeah, property prices.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Hey, big bird, we adore you here in Australia. Have
you ever met an Australian bird like Akuoko Baro?

Speaker 13 (18:52):
I haven't. Are they big or small?

Speaker 6 (18:54):
They're small and they've got a big laugh Koko barros laugh.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yeah, they laugh very But do you want to hear
what happened.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
A little bit A little bit like that.

Speaker 15 (19:06):
It just sounds like, well, I'd like to meet one.

Speaker 13 (19:12):
Can you send one through the radio? I don't know
how this works.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Yes, Max is going to do a Croko bar for you,
rightight now?

Speaker 7 (19:18):
They just laugh, Yeah, sort of like that. Really, that's
sort of it's a little bit like a Cuocko bar
across with the dog.

Speaker 15 (19:36):
Yeah, kind of sounds it kind of sounds like tango.

Speaker 13 (19:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
Little birds we've got them in West Australia.

Speaker 13 (19:50):
It sounds cute.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Yeah, they are absolutely gorgeous. Now, you guys, if you
could maybe just whole with us, we actually have a
couple of little of the Australian kids that would like
to ask you some questions.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Would that be all right?

Speaker 13 (20:04):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Right now, we have three of the biggest stars on
our show that we have ever ever spoken to. We
have none other than Elbow, the Count and Big Bird

four on ABC Kids and joining us now is Sophie.
Good morning, Sophie. Hi, now, Rebecca you're there too?

Speaker 2 (20:28):
How old is Sophie?

Speaker 9 (20:30):
Sophie's true?

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Okay, all right, so hey, Big Bird apparently you're one
of her favorites.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Can you say hi to Sophie first, because she's a
bit shy.

Speaker 13 (20:39):
Hello there, Sophie, it's to be big boo.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Rebecca. What was Sophie's question if he would.

Speaker 14 (20:47):
Like to know how long Big Bird has lived on
Sesame Street?

Speaker 15 (20:50):
Well, I've lived on Sesame Street my whole life and
I'm six.

Speaker 6 (20:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (21:00):
I've been trying to figure this out for a decade.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Thank you, little Sophy. Let's go to six year old.

Speaker 13 (21:09):
Sophie.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
So let's get a six year old Miranda from Clovelly Park. Hi, Miranda,
you've got a question for the count I believe if
my house.

Speaker 14 (21:18):
What's the highest number he can count?

Speaker 12 (21:22):
Oh, that is a wonderful question. But it is the
highest number that I can count too.

Speaker 13 (21:26):
Well. I will tell you, Miranda.

Speaker 12 (21:28):
That I have never counted all the way up to
the last number that I can count, because I.

Speaker 13 (21:35):
Just keep going and going and going and adding one
more number every single time. I can never get to
the end. It's kind of exciting.

Speaker 12 (21:43):
You have a Oh, yes, my favorite number is seven. No, no,
it is a two hundred and three. No, no, no,
My favorite number is six, four.

Speaker 13 (21:54):
Hundred and twenty one. Now you're trying to be Tilly.
I cannot choose their.

Speaker 14 (22:04):
Happens.

Speaker 7 (22:05):
I think you could go all day, Miranda. Thank you
for your question.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Let's get Miranda, Let's.

Speaker 6 (22:10):
Get one more question.

Speaker 7 (22:11):
Kelly in Port no longer, Kelly, have you got a
question for Elmo? Hi?

Speaker 9 (22:16):
Iron Kelly And I'm thirty eight years old and I
am Shelf.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Australia, Elmo's biggest fern him.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
Thank you?

Speaker 9 (22:28):
I love you, Kelli.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Why why do you love almost so much?

Speaker 6 (22:34):
Kelly?

Speaker 9 (22:34):
He's just the best. I have loved them before ever.
I've even got a lifetized cuddly toy of Elmo that
my children have commandeered, but they know full well that
it's fine.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
Elmo.

Speaker 7 (22:49):
What's it like for you knowing that there are children
and there are adults out there every night that sleeping
with Little Elmo Teddy Bears and Big Elmo Teddy.

Speaker 13 (22:57):
Bears and Kelly? If you're ever, you're.

Speaker 9 (23:04):

you guys have fun on Sesame Street.

Speaker 13 (23:47):
Bye.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Max and Allie's absolutely.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
She was President of the Law Society twenty nineteen, Director
of the Law Council twenty nineteen, twenty twenty three degrees, six.

Speaker 6 (24:02):
Years of study, seventeen years.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
As a lawyer.

Speaker 6 (24:05):
This is Maximali's lawyer.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Hello, Adelaide, I'm the lawyer.

Speaker 11 (24:11):
I'm here and I'm fearless.

Speaker 7 (24:12):
I fear us lawyer is here to help you out
in the illegal questions you might have.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
Craig in Salisbury, what do you want to ask, Jamie?

Speaker 8 (24:19):
Just wondering how we go about sewing an airline?

Speaker 6 (24:22):
Yes, Coraz, all right, Gray, you're aiming high. Why are
we sing an airline?

Speaker 8 (24:28):
My daughter purchased flights to Korea and it was through
webjat and of course we ended up having meals included
on the flight, they only gave her a packet of peanut.
They wouldn't even give her any water.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
God.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
Then, on the way back from Korea, she got to
checking about five minutes late due to a car accident,
and there was no one at the counter, so she
couldn't even talk to anyone there about whether she could
still get on the flight or not. Yeap, I had
to purchase a new flight for her, which was the
next morning, so she had to spend the night in here.
They said to her that she needed a visa because

(25:02):
the flight landing in Vietnam, and she needed a visa
for Vietnam, which that's not required because you're still in
the airport and Australians.

Speaker 7 (25:11):
Didn't really need it that visa there, Okay.

Speaker 8 (25:13):
So after back and forth with them about that, I
even spoke with their manager and she basically hung up
for the past the phone back to my daughter and
then tried to charge her a transfer fee for her luggage.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Well from one flight to the next one yep, in
the same airline.

Speaker 8 (25:29):
I thought, let's just pay that and get your home.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Yeah, well that number one, that's Greig. I want to
make sure is your daughter back from Korea.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Few years back from can you better a decent meal?

Speaker 8 (25:41):
We definitely?

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Okay?

Speaker 13 (25:42):
Great?

Speaker 6 (25:43):
Is her luggage back from Korea? Great?

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Yeah, where's that?

Speaker 8 (25:46):
Only just it didn't arrive until two days later? Two
and a half days later. Luggage on in.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Korea even though they charged your transfer luggage, they didn't
even buy the transfer or anything. Okay with you, Craig,
Let's that sounds great?

Speaker 6 (26:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (26:04):
Yeah, there is something on the flight. My daughter had
to go to the toilet, and the stewardess the knocked on
the door twice, and I thought, replied twice saying it's occupied,
and then the stewards just went open the door.

Speaker 6 (26:17):
Anyway, what is going right? Who did you? Who did
your daughter?

Speaker 13 (26:26):
Right?

Speaker 6 (26:26):
It wasn't me right? Okay, lawyer, star lawyer. How much
can we get for.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Grave so many things that have just happened?

Speaker 11 (26:37):
I mean, the first step, if you haven't already, which
I assume you have, is obviously riding to the airline
and seeking reimbursement for the flight, at least the second
flight that you had to pay for.

Speaker 8 (26:48):
We have that's been going on for five months. Also
have offered her is a five hundred thousand me dollar
credit for their airline.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
That sounds like a lot about nine.

Speaker 6 (27:06):
It's flying from Adelaide to Lofty, right, Okay, okay.

Speaker 11 (27:11):
Unfortunately with respect to the actual like being late to
the airport. If you're late to the airport and you
miss your fly, that's on you. I think that's something
that she's going to have a hard lesson learned by her.
But she's going to have to be like the rest
of us who or maybe it's I don't know if
it's just the boomers and gen x is like me
who have to get to the airport two hours early, just.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
In case that that flight takes off before.

Speaker 11 (27:33):
I think it's going to the food Obviously the food
should be included, but that might be something via webjat
because she's booked it through a third party, so you
might have to contact them directly rather than the airline
because her contract is actually with Webjet, it's not with
whoever this airline is. So if they haven't provided what
she has purchased an under Australian consumer law, then you

(27:54):
can go via them. So the damage to the luggage
when you fly with any airline in the terms and
condition it does.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Yeah, it's in there, so.

Speaker 11 (28:03):
You're allowed to damage the luggage and give a waiver
if it is significantly damaged. If she had travel insurance,
she can she can claim that on her travel insurance.
The other thing is with respect to the visa, she
does need a visa. So even if you are transit
through a Yeah, even if you're transit.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Through somewhere and you don't leave the air and you
don't leave.

Speaker 11 (28:25):
The airport, you still require a visa, depending on which
country it is. So in some in some you know,
some places Australians have visa waiver, whether Vietnam or not,
has that. I couldn't tell you off the top of
my head. So if there's a visa waiver, yeah, Ensuring
when you're booking any kind of flight to a different country,

(28:46):
especially if there's a potential for you to go through
another country, and make sure that you're aware of anything.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Craig Airport right now on the.

Speaker 16 (28:56):
Background, Craigs, what about the opening of a toilet door
on you when you're sitting in the airline.

Speaker 11 (29:09):
I mean, yeah, I mean whether pursuing some sort of
claim in relation to that's probably not going to be
particularly successful from a compensation point of view. You have
to have, you know, if it's a personal injury, if
you have to be psychiatrically injured, there's the whole stuff
that Well, if she's got a psychiatric injury and it's
a diagnosable psychiatric injury and that's impacted her, then she

(29:31):
should you know, she could look at that and pursuing them.
And then that's the other thing is is what war applies,
because different walls apply depending on where.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
The where the door was opened up, where the door.

Speaker 11 (29:41):
Was open, and where they're registered. So you know, is
an Australian company, is a Vietnamese company? Is it a
Korean country?

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Craig, it sounds like, I mean, we're giving people a
chance to become millionaires here on mixed I mean, she's
halfway there with five hundred thousand Vietnamese dom or whatever
it is. But it looks like there's lots of little
things you might be able to do, But it sounds
like there's a lot of paperwork ahead of you.

Speaker 8 (30:03):
Yeah, all right, thank you.

Speaker 7 (30:04):
This advice is not a substitute for people seeking indpendent
legal advice for their own circumstances.

Speaker 12 (30:08):
They should consider seeking their own legal advices.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Maximally ten thousand dollars let's give away ten grand.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Hopefully it's Catherine from Fullerton that's going to get ten
questions right in sixty seconds and get the money.

Speaker 7 (30:23):
Catherine, good morning. What do you want to win? What
do you want to do with your ten grand?

Speaker 14 (30:28):
Good morning?

Speaker 4 (30:29):
Maximally?

Speaker 10 (30:30):
Well, I have a son living in Belgium I haven't
seen for a while mother, Wow in Melbourne, so I would.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Was it something you said, Catherine that made them move
away from you?

Speaker 13 (30:41):
You like that.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
They're very happy and healthy and loving life.

Speaker 10 (30:46):
So I'm a very proud mother.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
What does your boy do in Belgium? That's a beautiful
place to move to.

Speaker 9 (30:51):
You're working for a company called DHL, so did you
stick Wow?

Speaker 4 (30:55):
So organize stuff to be shipped around the world from
one country to the.

Speaker 6 (31:01):
Oh my god, god, it's like Australia post on steroids.

Speaker 9 (31:04):
Yeah, this is exactly.

Speaker 15 (31:05):
And then yeah, I grab my other son from Melbourne.

Speaker 9 (31:08):
I'd take him through Europe and treat us all to
a lovely European Oh.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
That sounds wonderful, and you can just eat your weight
in waffles and muscles and beer. Yeah all right, okay,
well Catherine, here we go. We'll get you the ten questions.
You just got to answer them very very quickly in
the sixty seconds, and don't forget it, say passed really quickly,
because that'll give you more time. And if we get
more time, we'll come back to one that you've missed.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Okay, Okay, then sounds good.

Speaker 6 (31:34):
Catherine. Let's get you to Belgium.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
All right, Catherine from Fullerton who is dying for some
Belgian waffles and chocolate. Your time starts now. How many
days in May eighty one?

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Which boy band was Robbie Williams a.

Speaker 9 (31:48):
Member of Take That.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
What's the largest continent in the world Asia. Which app
identifies music when you tap a button.

Speaker 8 (31:58):
Spotify.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
What's the oldest university in South.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Australia Adelaide University in Matilda.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
What food was Bruce Bogtrotter forced.

Speaker 6 (32:07):
To eat.

Speaker 10 (32:09):
Mushrooms?

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Miami Heat basketball of Paddy Mills is. Which nationality American?
Which fast food chain has the most restaurants in the world?
McDonald who sang the nineteen eighty nine song We Didn't
Start the Fire?

Speaker 10 (32:25):
Billy Joel.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Which celebrity couple announced they're split in April this year
by saying they were putting their racquets down.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Oh that's the last one. Keep going.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Just you're gonna have to have a guess because that's
the only question you ever answered.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Okay, on agay, Andre Agacy.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
I like that Tennis so damn speedy.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Yeah, and you were just cool, calm and collected about
all of that. So okay, all right, how do you
feel about it right now?

Speaker 9 (32:55):
I don't feel very confident.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
How when you sounded it a good thing?

Speaker 9 (33:00):
I got be going to might be going to be.

Speaker 7 (33:03):
Well, Catherine, you did answer all ten so you're still
in the run. Merkay, Let's give you some good news.
First of all, all right, here we go. How many
days in May thirty one? Robbie Williams was in Take that. Yes,
Asia is the largest continents. McDonald's has the most restaurants

(33:23):
of any fast food Billy Joel didn't start the fire. Yes,
goddamn you're on fire at this point, Catherine.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
So good now trouble yeah, okay, So app that identifies
music is actuallyzam?

Speaker 11 (33:42):
Okay, I don't know that one.

Speaker 7 (33:45):
Can I recommend you get Shazam? If you're sitting there
listening to the radio and you go, I love this song,
what is it? You push the Shazam button and it
tells you exactly what song it is. It can listen
and tell you so good.

Speaker 13 (33:54):
All right, all right.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
The oldest university in South Australia is actually the University
out Australia, not Adelaide.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Really, yeah me, I was surprised by that too.

Speaker 7 (34:04):
Eighteen fifty six they established that in Matilda, the iconic
scene where Bruce bog Trotter is forced to eat in
front of the whole assembly.

Speaker 6 (34:13):
It's a whole big chocolate cat.

Speaker 12 (34:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Not mushrooms though, mushrooms. No, that's it.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (34:20):
Miami Heat basketball of Patty Mills. You said he was
from the USA. It's a good guess. Most basketballs are
from the USA. But he is one of our greatest basketballs.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
He's an Aussiezi and the celebrity couple that announced this.
But you said Andre Agassi because the line was putting
their rackets down, especially when he's married to Steppie Grath,
also another tennis player.

Speaker 7 (34:39):
But no, it was Isla Fisher and Sasha Barony.

Speaker 10 (34:44):
I wouldn't have got that.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
That's all right, Hey, I'll tell you what, Catherine. Fifty
dollars is all yours? All right?

Speaker 8 (34:49):
Thank you so much. I was excited.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Keep being proud of your beautiful sons too.

Speaker 8 (34:54):
I think, thank you.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
I am flagging that you were going to have trouble
When you have preteens and teens who text.

Speaker 6 (35:05):
I feel like you're in a similar boat to me. Yeah,
well you would be teaching.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
It is driving me crazy.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
And I don't know if any other parents or grandparents
out there, but the way that kids communicate on text,
oh there's no punctuation, they don't spell properly, but even
to the point where it's the way they talk to you, right.

Speaker 6 (35:25):
This isn't just throwing out a lull or something. And
you're like, oh, I don't deal with that crit no.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
No, no, no, no, no no no.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
So here you go.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Here's an example.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
So I was fortunate enough to spend a bit of
time away from my children to sound like that, and
I went away on holidays and I was missing them dreadfully.
So anytime they actually picked up the phone and reached
out to me, it was really I got excited.

Speaker 6 (35:46):
So when you picked your phone up at the bar,
open the.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Middle child, our boy, I get a text message.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
I look and I go, oh, it's something from a
little Sammy, how old do I have to be to
get call of duty? Question mark? Question mark? Question mark?

Speaker 6 (36:03):
That's it, great question. I go back with you very good.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
How about hi, mum, are you having a nice time?
He responds, sorry, So how old?

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Like he just does my head is.

Speaker 6 (36:17):
So they're different. It's a new line pretty much for
every word. Yeah, but it's just.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
That whole idea of, you know, they've lost any sort
of sense of mam, are you okay? And I love
you and I miss you and all that sort of stuff.
And so I go, or, well, maybe this hope for
my elder child Luise.

Speaker 7 (36:31):
And how old does he have to be to get
called gudy? Which is the important question here.

Speaker 1 (36:34):
Well, I just said, is their blood and gore? And
what does it say in the box? And isn't it
like fifteen or eighteen or something? Yeah, Well, say, he's
not going anywhere near.

Speaker 6 (36:42):
It, and if he plays, I will yell at him on.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
So then I go, well, maybe the elder girls, she'll
get it a little bit more right, you know. Communication.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
So I'm over there and I'm actually caught up with
a couple of friends and I yeah, yeah, yeah, And
I'm sitting there going well, I'm there, and I know
that our son's playing a footy game that he was
really nervous about because we're sort of on the cusp
for finals. If he didn't win this footy game, then
they'll probably be out of finance. And I know that
she is there supporting him, especially because I couldn't be
there otherwise she'd never go to see him play sport ever. Anyway,

(37:11):
So I text and I say, hey, honey, how's the
footy going. This is what I get back, Mum, the
footy's going good. They haven't finished yet, though. Oh that's
quite for both of her.

Speaker 6 (37:21):
I like that good is good?

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Yeah, and I write back, are they winning or losing?
She writes they won? Exclamation, at which point I stopped
down what we're talking about. I say, hey, guys, this
is amazing. I'm so happy for Sammy. You know Dad's
coaching him.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Blah blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
He was really worried about this game and all the
sort of And it looks like they won.

Speaker 6 (37:41):
Let's buy around for everyone.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Then the next text, wait, sorry, turns out they lost.

Speaker 6 (37:49):
A easy, easy mistake to make.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
And I've just ridden back. Oh my god, I just
got excited. What was the score?

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (37:58):
They lost by five ish goal. I'm like, SMA just lose.
It wasn't quite like were you even watching the Game's mad?
It's got absolutely smash.

Speaker 7 (38:07):
So do you feel like you need to improve their texting?
Is that something that they just have got picked up
from their father?

Speaker 11 (38:15):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (38:16):
No, Well, there is absolutely no way I think I
can fix this because I may have caught them texting
to their mates, And how any person can understand what
any teenager is saying at any time on the phone
to each other is just unbelievable.

Speaker 7 (38:30):
You know what they need is they need to go
through what I went through when I was growing up,
and what you would have gone through when everyone first
started using phones and phone plans. It's that each text message,
yes cost twenty five cents.

Speaker 6 (38:43):
You never got anything wrong and you.

Speaker 7 (38:45):
Used all of those one hundred and sixty characters.

Speaker 6 (38:49):
Ali, I would like to introduce you to a new world.

Speaker 7 (38:52):
It's a subset of society that I don't really know
existed and now I am quietly a part of.

Speaker 6 (38:58):
And that is the nursing home Merry go Round.

Speaker 7 (39:01):
Right, Yes, this is something that we are only experiencing.

Speaker 6 (39:05):
It's on one side of our family.

Speaker 7 (39:08):
They live in a small country town over in New
South Wales. And in this small country town, a couple
of thousand people at most, there is a nursing home.
In the nursing home at the moment, Nana she's been
in and out of hospital, so she's moved into the
nursing home in the last few months.

Speaker 6 (39:23):
And it's great, having a great time.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Oh good, is happy.

Speaker 7 (39:27):
It's working out, very nice. She's got her own room.
They give her ice cream, all of the great things
about games.

Speaker 6 (39:32):
Fantastic.

Speaker 7 (39:33):
Now that has left Pop in the house, big house.

Speaker 6 (39:38):
It's a big family.

Speaker 7 (39:39):
There's a lot of siblings, so they've had this big
family house forever.

Speaker 6 (39:44):
And he's just sort of pottering around by himself.

Speaker 7 (39:46):
And he's in his nineties and he has come to
the realization without her there.

Speaker 6 (39:50):
I'm too old to do this lonely too. I can't
live at home by myself anymore. I want in on
the nursing home. I don't want to fall over and
just be laying there going what am I doing it?

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Go and be looked after with his beloved.

Speaker 7 (40:01):
Yes, So we are now in this position where the
small nursing home in Finley only has a certain amount
of beds.

Speaker 6 (40:09):
We need someone to die. We are waiting out a death.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
So when is they waiting are you like pulling up
in the car and just leaving trip hazards.

Speaker 6 (40:22):
It's like, it's funny, you say. So.

Speaker 7 (40:27):
The way that it's working at the moment is that
between Eliza's mother and all of the numerous siblings, they
are over there spending time with Pop at home, looking
after him until a space opens up. So they've got
this roster of them keeping an eye on him and
keeping another eye on the nursing home.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
Because as soon as the vacancy sign goes up, you
want to be first going down.

Speaker 7 (40:50):
And they're visiting, they're visiting Nanna, and they're all glancing
sideways at the meal times.

Speaker 6 (40:55):
Just was Glady's got a little cold.

Speaker 7 (41:00):
We're sort of considering options like maybe leaving a window
is very colder, we could maybe leave a window open,
make sure work exactly who he gets some beef Wellington
into a few of the rooms. We could maybe get
you know, how to get performers in. We could get
a clown in, maybe scare someone today.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Now I'm going to ask the real question, how much
of This is about all the kids wanting dear dad
to spend his last years with dear Mum in the
nursing home versus getting their hands on that massive family.

Speaker 6 (41:34):
They just wanted to be safe. They just wanted to
be safe. So we thought we were close.

Speaker 7 (41:38):
We get a message in the family group chat from
the sibling that is over there at the moment. There's
an ambulance here.

Speaker 6 (41:46):
Updates to follow.

Speaker 7 (41:48):
Everyone's like, okay, that sucks, but also bags march. Next
message it's the lady from down the hall. Next message,
she's in one of the beds. She's not moving, hard
to tell how bad it. Next message sitting up now,
looks like she's okay. Next message, Oh well, swonky one.

Speaker 12 (42:15):
One million dollars makes one of two point threes million
dollar key.

Speaker 7 (42:22):
We've been dropping a million dollar keys all over Adelaide.

Speaker 6 (42:25):
We just let a few loose down in Oaklands Park.

Speaker 7 (42:28):

one of them, though, could we knew a million dollars?
Jess from Aberfoyle Park has rung in. Jess, have you
got a key?

Speaker 16 (42:38):

Speaker 5 (42:47):

our tougher ones to find? Maybe, yes, we were.

my children.

Speaker 5 (43:15):
What was that?

Speaker 6 (43:16):
Five kids entertained?

Speaker 5 (43:18):
Yes, I promised my oldest daughter found the key. I've
promised her a family trip.

Speaker 6 (43:23):

Speaker 7 (43:25):
Where's good for a family trip with five kids?

Speaker 5 (43:30):
Well, she really wants to swim with dolphins, So I
thought Queensland.

Speaker 7 (43:33):
Maybe you could save some money and take it down
to Port River and go on the Port River Dolphin Cruise.

Speaker 6 (43:38):
And then you could just keep the other nine hundred
and nine to nine thousand dollars.
