Speaker 1 (00:10):
I heard podcasts here more Mix one or two point
three podcasts, playlists and listen live on the free I
Heart app Mixed.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
One or two point three Hailey and Max in the Morning,
listen up.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
If you are one of those people and you're like,
I just want to pay rise, how do I like
approach my boss? It's not a year your hands up?
But yeah, you want to pay rise, don't you love one?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah? And this is like you need to listen to this.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Then, because if if you're not comfortable enough to go
to your boss and go I want a pay rise, please?
Can I please have a pay rise? There's other things
you can do. Listening very intently, pattentively. Apparently every year
you're supposed to do like a three to five percent
pay increase.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
That's like what you're supposed to do.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
So when your boss goes, sorry, we're having a pay freeze.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Do you know?
Speaker 1 (00:52):
As a boss as well as working here, you don't
want your staff to come to you and ask for
pay rise. You want to reward them before they have
to come to you. By the time they come to you,
they're already thinking I want to pay rise.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Do I need to leave? Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Help me help. There are lots of us out here.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Well, here's a good tip, and this tried and tested
from one of my friends. She rocked up to work
a couple of weeks ago looking really fancy because she'd
been to a morning breakfast at the school and she
was wearing a blazer and she's wearing little heels. She
looks so hot and she doesn't normally wear that stuff
to work. And when she walked to work, she didn't
even think any anything of it.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
And everyone at work was like, Oh my god, do
you have a job interview today? Are you leaving? And
so she kind of planted something in her head going, oh,
maybe I do. Maybe I don't, right, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I've got a twelve o'clock lunch meeting I need to
go by.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
I do wrack up every day, dressed like about to
go to the gym.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
I know. Okay, So that got everyone talking, including her boss, going, oh,
maybe she's gonna leave.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
You don't want that. You want the boss to be panicking.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
IM want to lose them. You don't want to lose them.
So we've come up with a bunch of other ways
that you can do. So obviously that is like we're
start wearing a pant suit. Just a random Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
I start wearing a double breasted pants suit.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
I would like an eighties one, Oh my god, please
with a waistcoat and a pocket watch.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yep, top hat, the top a fake monocle.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Here's another tip book a ten thirty off site meeting
that day. So people know you dressed up, they know
you're going somewhere, but you say it's a meeting.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
They don't know if you're meeting an appointment or whatever.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
You literally go in your car, you drive somewhere around
the corner, eat a sandwich, and then come back.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
I could go ahead and walk my dog or something
to do that.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Do that. This is a really good one.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
You go to HR but in front of other people,
and you go, do you mind if I just have
a copy of my contract?
Speaker 2 (02:37):
I was just wondering, can I describe that? That'd be
really good.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
People will start going, oh my god, why don't want
the contract with its endings?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
That's really good.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Another good one is send yourself flowers to work.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
This probably works for women more.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
If you start sending yourself flowers, people are gonna go,
who's sending you flowers?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
And just this woman. She wants me to work for her.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
And then you print your resume on the printer and
you leave it there.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
That's a good one, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
If if anyone finds it, they go he's looking for work,
and the rumor mill starts, and all of a sudden
it gets back to the boss and
Speaker 2 (03:14):
You're in a meeting and you go, all right, i'll
have this pay right,
