Speaker 2 (00:45):
We're great?
Speaker 1 (00:46):
So good.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
I love what you do. Can you share with Adelaide
about your business and how it started?
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yes? And thank you so much for having me on
this morning. And I love watching you on your travels
in South Australia as well.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
So I started sleep fearlessly a couple of years ago now,
and that came off the back of my mental health journey,
stepping away from alcohol and a bit of a a
party life that I had for many, many years. As
part of that, I kind of stepped back from society
and was home all the time, and so I thought,
I'm going to make myself a nice pair of pjs
that with an affirmation on it because I'm home every
(01:22):
Friday night with my dog, which then led to what
did I make some for other people? And so I'm
wearing one today this is I am free. So the
basis of my sleep where it was to put the
affirmations in reverse, so that at the hardest time for
some of us going to bed and getting up in
the morning, we could read that affirmation in the mirror,
ah and empower.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Ourselves back to front.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yeah, that so much. That takes a lot of guts
to pull yourself out to find something great out of
something really traumatic and hard. How did you get to
the point where you're like, I'm going to turn this
into a business. People are going to pay for this.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
It just happened organically, and they call it a little
bit of a pink caze coming into sobriety where you
just get this power surge of I can do anything
because I've been stifling my life for so long or numbing.
All of a sudden, I've just had this world of energy.
And then I think to see interest around it as well.
And just the fact that the affirmations are back to
(02:23):
front and the purpose behind that that people started.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
To love the positive affirmations and looking at some of them,
here you've got I am fearless, I'm brave, I'm courageous.
Be you have you in selling all of these to people?
Have you come across a bunch of other stories of
people that needed your pajamas and stumbled into it at
the right time.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah? That has because I kind of was nearly going
to step away from the business because I started doing
a counseling course and then I'm now rest Bite foster
ra as well, and so that process took fifteen months
to do, so I kind of was like, oh, I've
not got to do the pjs anymore. I've just got
no energy. But then I'll get a message from someone saying,
do you know what, I've just lost someone and I've
(03:06):
read that affirmation in the mirror and that has actually
got me through the day. Or I've left a relationship
that I wasn't supposed to be in and I actually
feel free. So every time I think, you know what,
it's just so much when you work full time to
have a side hustle, but the purpose behind it. Every
time someone reaches out to me and it means something
(03:28):
to them, and also my little foster boy got to
wear the pjs, which I am kind for kids, and
I can't even tell you because when I made them,
I didn't know it was going to be a foster
care and so to see him in them just, oh,
that is so beautiful.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
You just listening to your story. There's so many people
that will be inspired by what you've done because you've
come from a really hard place to now look at you.
You would never go back to that, would you?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Absolutely not. So I'm four and a half years now
done and feel the best I've ever felt. And yeah,
it is unbelievable what you can do when you kind
of when you start healing.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Where are we getting it? Give us your plug working
the people at Adelaide, jump on them and buy these
positive pjs.
