Yeah, so clever, Hi Brook tell us about your business?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah sure. We run makeup classes around Adelaide designed for
women over forty with little to no makeup experience, or
women are just feeling a bit lost as you know,
their makeup might not be sitting as nice as it
used to. So yeah, we provide nice, relaxing, supportive environments.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
To learn it.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
So they get the Maine cup and the tools that
they need during the class and then they get to
take them home with them. We also support them after
the class as well, because you know, we know when
we attend the class, sometimes we don't remember everything, So
we like to give that one on one support as well.
As you get older, our skin changes, you know, the
texture of our skin changes, and we can't wear the
same makeup that we were wearing, you know, twenty years ago.

(01:29):
They're just kind of wearing it because they're feeling a
bit lost. They don't really know how to wear it
to suit their aging features. I think also they're getting
a bit overwhelmed with the social media stuff happening on
reels and fancy tutorials where they're dripping foundation down their foreheads.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
And it changes as you get older, projecting salmon spurs
and which are not balls under their eyes.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I've heard of that. I wonder how they get that.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
So for people listening to this, can you give us
a couple of tips for women's makeup. Let's go with eyes,
because is it true that you shouldn't when you hit
a certain age you should go less under the eye.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Absolutely so, I think, you know, as we get older,
ditch the harsh eyeline underneath you can switch it out
for a darker eye shadow, smoked out underneath, it's a
lot more of a softer look, you know, maybe perhaps
switching your black muscara for a black brown or even
a brown muscara to kind of soften the lashes a

(02:26):
little bit. Another thing is we get older, our eyes
tend to droop a bit, called hooded eyes. So we
can do this beautiful eyeshadow and then we rest our
face and we look forward and you can't see it
because the skin below the brow has drooped and so
you can't see it anymore. So it's about applying the
eye shadow higher, taking it up towards the brow, not

necessarily touching the brow. So when you rest your face,
look in the mirror, can you still see your makeup
if you can't bring it higher?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Tell us why you started this, Where did the business
come from?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
So my business partner and I have been makeup artists
for quite a few years now, and along the way
we've been coming across a lot of mature women who
just want to learn the basics that will suit them
mature skin and features, but are feeling a bit lost.
Like I said, with the social media, they're almost giving up,
you know, their skins changing. So we've been finding the
classes separately for a while, mainly through word of mouth,

(03:18):
not really advertising them much, and as time went on,
we're hearing more horror stories, you know, ladies going into
retail stores, getting the wrong products, getting the wrong advice,
and then not having the support to use them. So yeah,
we decide to combine forces and open the Beauty Studio
with an aim to really break it down to basics,
teaching people how to apply just enough makeup so they're

(03:40):
not going to feel like it's caked on that We
want it to be nice and hydrating and sit nicely on.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Everyone wants a dewy glow. Absolutely, okay, thank you on
behalf of all the women over forty who do have
trouble and they're losing self confidence with the way they look,
and you're making them feel and look more beautiful. So
