Speaker 1 (00:10):
I heard podcasts here more mix one or two point
three podcasts, playlists and listen live on the free iHeart app.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Let's have a moment for teachers. Today's World Teacher's Day.
And your mom was a teacher.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
She was My mother was. You know, if you're out
there right now, you're a kid and you're going I
don't care about my teachers. One day you will remember
your teachers and you'll remember pretty much everything that they
ever said to you.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
And I know how much you appreciate and love the
school that you went to, and you loved your teachers right,
and you remember them all.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Missus Marshall in English, Missus Jensen in French. She made
me care about French even though I hated it. Mister
Joy and Pee with massive calves. Mister Maguire did accounting,
and mister Urban was our mass teacher. And then at
the he did a party trick on the last day
of school for everyone where he would do a headstand
even though he's like a sixty year old man.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Oh my god, headstands are so dangerous. Yeah, okay, lovely,
I love that I have personally I loved my teachers too,
but I personally experienced something where I think it shows
the power of a teacher and how teacher can change
the world. So my little boy was at another school
last year, and I've said this on the show before.
He really suffered with the teacher that he had, and
(01:18):
he was so anxious going to school, Like he completely changed.
He was he started to get a tick at home,
like and we took him to the doctor and it
was because he was so anxious and he felt like
he couldn't be himself at school and it was really
hard to see. We ended up changing in classes. Anyway,
we changed schools this year and we have seen like
(01:39):
a full change in this kid, Like he is so happy.
And this week we went to this at his new school.
That's so beautiful and they look after kids, especially with
if they've got dyslexia or any learning disabilities or whatever
it is. And they had this big exhibition at his
school and he got to present in front of everyone
and all the parents and he's just such as an
(02:00):
He was talking about ocean pollution and all the things
he's learned. He spent two terms learning about this, right,
and yeah, all of that and his team came up
to us and she's like Hailey, I just have to say,
he's so freaking cute. I'm so proud of him. He
has come so far with blah blah blah blah blah.
And then she was saying, looked at her and she's
(02:20):
telling him how proud she is of him, and as
a mom that for this little kid who had no
confidence at all, he suddenly was just shining like the sun.
And then she said to me that this morning he
was sitting in class with his face just beaming like too,
like massive smile like I do, like his mom, and
she's like, why are you Why are you so happy, Alfy,
why are you smiling? And he goes, I'm just really excited,
(02:42):
and that for him to be excited to be at
school because of the teachers that they have, is everything.
So I just wanted to a shout out, we know
how good you are. Some teachers can break kids and
some can change their whole life. So I just want
to say a big thank you to the teachers in
Adelaide for everything that you do.
