Speaker 1 (00:10):
I heard podcasts here more Mix one or two point
three podcasts, playlists and listen live on the free iHeart app.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Mix one or two point three Hailey Max in the
morning time for the hand matches.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Yes, world famous all of.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Mix one two point three.

Speaker 5 (00:31):
Uncomfortable, deeply personal questions come firing at us each day,
and today Max is in the firing line, and I
ask the question, I'm so ready, and I'd like to
know because you are on the radio every day, You're
on Channel ten every afternoon doing the sport. Have you
ever been trolled online?

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Man, yes, literally, anyone who has ever had any tiny
public profile gets trolled all the time because people are
the worst.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah they are.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
I mean yes.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
So I will never click on any comments section to
anything that mentions me in any advertiser article or whatever,
because don't matter if it could be the most positive
thing in the world, someone will say something negative and
I just don't need to. Lately, I have had someone
in my Instagram dms and it's happened enough that it
makes me think about the way that I'm presenting on

(01:20):
television every night. So this bloke a couple of weeks
ago slid into a DMS. I mean he's not a really,
he's an egg egghead defould account, zero followers, zero following.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Just created just to troll. Yeah, what's his name, Kevin?
Kevin Parting, Like.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
You're because you have a part, a middle part.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
He's created it for you. His middle name is probably
middle Kevin Partington.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Kevin Middle Partington and said, I'm Max enjoy your channel
ten sessions.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Just nice.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
That's why I opened the first place, because I saw
that little preview and I was like, this is good
propping my tires up because you try and get your
ties done properly, They're never straight, They're never up properly,
full stop Kevin.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Which is like half patrol, half advice. And I'll accept that.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
That's nice trolling, though that sounds like an old man.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I sent one back. I said, shape the feedback, Kevin.
I will pull it up tight for you in ten
minutes time because I have a little segment at the
top of the news and a little segment.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Later in the news. And he never applied.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
I was like, great, that's me and Kevin done, and
I'll make sure my tie's ready for him. Sent me
a message last Thursday at five seventeen. I've try and
finish the first throws. Still can't get that tire straight. Maccine, Maxine,
that's what I call you. And I was like, really,
my tie feels okay at the moment. I went back
to the computer. This is in the middle of work.
I should be riding the playber day, but you care.

(02:37):
I went back and I reopened our bulletin and you
can rewatch it. And I went back to those first
break throws and looked at him. I was like, tie's
pretty straight, Kevin, what are you talking about. I took
a photo of myself and I sent it back to Kevin, said, Kevin.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
That's harsh. I'll have to get the builder's level out
for the next break. Kevin Plartington, what did you say
to that?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Don't take it to heart. I'm just an old shirt
and tie representative.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Oh no, I think he's an old man. I reckon
he's real with zero followers, because why would he that's
zero following.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
He could go so high at you, but he didn't.
He's actually just watching your tie every night.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Maybe Kevin's my tie angel. Kevin Partington? Are you Kevin Partington?
Maybe it's me.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Kevin Middle parties and is actually Hailey Peerson Ah being
trolled online isn't nice.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
It sucks, man.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I reckon that it is not just people with some
small azouse's public profile. Gross and I'd love to hear
from people around town, whether it's online, whether it's in person.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Have you been trolled?

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
What for We'll take your calls.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Next with Haley Max on Mixed one of a two
point three mix one oh two point three Haley and
Max in the morning.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
I've been placed in the Wall of Truth this morning,
and the question was have you ever been trolled online?

Speaker 3 (03:51):
And yes, I have.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I think most of the time it's joking, sometimes perhaps
not so much joking. And we wanted to get inside
the mind of a troll and go why.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
And suppress press.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
It was hard to get someone on because trolls generally
love to troll, but they don't want to actually come
on the Radiant to talk about it.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Someone has agreed to do it as long as we
change their voice and don't say who they are, So
Anonymous from Eastern Adelaide, you're a bit of a troll,
I am.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I would love to get inside your mind right now,
because what you do can be potentially quite hurtful to people.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Why do you do this?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
It first started when I was in high school. I
used to get bullied, and then the person that bullied
me the most ended up becoming an influencer, and so
I started to get back at them.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Okay, okay, what did that look like?

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Making fake accounts, making fake email addresses to support the
fake account.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
To bag this person? Yep, So what kind of stuff
would you say to this person?

Speaker 4 (04:48):
That they're a louver it's all for life, it's not
like their validation. There's a load of crap and they're
not really like that in real life. Yeah. I don't
want to give away who it is, but I wanted
the world to know that who they are on social
media is and who they've always been. So I started
telling my own truth of that. But it became really addictive,
like I realized that it was to them. So I

(05:09):
started doing it to other people, like more and more
well known people, to see who I could get a
bite from. Where you get a reaction from when they
bite back. It's funny as.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Okay, I want to ask this because I've been trolled before.
People have been really nasty online, and I find if
I write back a really nice message as I would,
just being me. They turn and go, oh my gosh,
thank you so much for writing back. That's really nice,
and they become really nice.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Do you do that as well? No, so you don't
want that.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
You're just doing it to bring other people down.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yeah, I'm just doing it to stop people seeking this
online level all the time. It's validation, it's not real.
It's just social media. People chase the likes. They're so
after the ninety five percent of people that love them,
and it's rubbish.

Speaker 5 (05:46):
But is it a jealousy thing? Do you want to
be that person?

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Maybe in high school I wanted to be that person.
Maybe it is trying to come back from the people
that made me feel so little when I was in
high school. Yeah, but now, honestly, it's just fun. It's
also like waiting until my accounts get shut down and
then starting a new email address and doing it all again.
Like there's a lot of refid involved.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
It's a process to be a troll anonymous.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I mean, going back to the very start, you were
bullied in school and you hated it, and then your
answer to that was to bully the person back.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Is that not a strange bit of logic to you.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
I think it's just calmer. Have an adult, they should
be able to hack it better than I did as
a kid. Maybe they'll learn, Maybe they'll raise their kids
not to bully, like how they bullied me.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Do you think you're doing the wrong thing by doing this?

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Nah? I think where everything's gone too far these days
with all the gentle parenting type stuff. This is sort
of happening people up again. Wow, if you're going to
put everything out there online, then you need a cop
some hate as well of some love.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Yeah, but they're actual, real people with real feelings, and
you don't know these people.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Well, then they can just ignore me. They don't know
me either, Like, if it's not the truth, why does
that person so much?

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Because it's mean as putting out negative things about.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
That human nature is positive? Yeah, and you're just doing
it for a reaction. Really, you need to go to like.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
A wellness retreat or something to look after your mental health.
I feel like you need a bit of help with
getting a bit more confidence in yourself and then maybe
you won't want to bring other people down.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Don't you think that people that are getting her by
just random comments online? Also need a bit of help
to feel better about themselves if they hurt by someone
they don't even know saying something to them.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Yeah, but the hurt doesn't need to exist if you're
not commenting, Yeah, you don't need You're part of the cycle.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
You can just break that little bit of the chain.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
It's not me, it'll be someone else. The guys at
the end of the day, you asked for a caller,
you got a caller. I'm here. I don't need your therapy.
I rang up out of the goodness of my heart.
So you either want to hear what I've got to
say or not.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Okay, So thank you for sharing. We appreciate you sharing.
I think what you're doing is wrong. Thank she's gone. Yeah,
but okay, we learned.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
I don't know if you're a bit sick. To be honest,
there are people like that out there and inside that
neither of us had thought of. Yeah, not thrilled with sad.
It's a sad insight. Please don't do that.

Speaker 4 (07:53):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
