Speaker 1 (00:10):
My Heart podcasts here more Mix one or two point
three podcasts, playlists and listen live on the free iHeart app.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Mix one or two point three. How do you MAXI
in the morning? Oh my god, what a very, very
exciting morning it is.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
I've been just literally shaking all morning. I've been waiting
for this moment for years. I've always wanted to do this.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
It is the only reason Hawley came back to radio
to hopefully one day present this in the hope.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
The Hospital Research Foundation home lottery is about to be announced.
We get to call the winner and make that life
changing phone call, which I'm just so excited about. And
we just wanted to bring in the Hospital Research Foundation
group CEO, the amazing Paul Fleeen into the studio to
say a thank you so much for everything that you
do with the foundation.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
And b are you really excited about making this call
as well.

Speaker 5 (00:57):
Look, firstly, Mix has always been close to our heart
because you guys always show us a lot of love, okay,
and you know where we come from, and you know
the contribution and Hailey, you get involved and Max now
you're getting involved is fantastic. So we wanted to share
this moment with you okay, because it's probably the biggest
moment we've ever had. So it's probably, without doubt the
best house.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yeah, I think we've both decided that it's our favorite house.
I mean, you've seen all the house you've been involved
in all this is the one that if you were
allowed to win, Paul, this will be the one you'd
want to win.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
It is fabulous.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
And so so you know, we we love you guys,
and we appreciate all the support you give us. So
and this is a this is an exciting time for
us when we wanted to make sure we shared it
with you.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Thank you, can I say as well?

Speaker 3 (01:41):
So people that enter this house is like, obviously they're
doing it because that like amazing price, Like imagine winning that.
But what a lot of people don't know is your
ticket that you're spending money on.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Where's it going?

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Look that over sixty areas of disease and illness, you know,
from from anti natles and from pre birth until end
of life care and everything in between. Plus we vied
now a lot of interventional services in the Parkinson, stroke, arthritis,
end of life care space. We've become an organization that

(02:19):
probably every person in South Australia has been impacted by
or will be impacted by at some time during their
life and makes it such a great place to work.
And I know you get involved with this outside as
a strong supporter and it makes all of our volunteers
and all of our other supporters love being involved. It's
a great vibe and we get to see the impact

(02:41):
every day. We meet people who go my mother survived
that because of the research you did.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Can I just add to that as well.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I know as a CEO you need to talk about
where you work, and I know you are so passionate
about it, but for someone from the outside, I just
want to share just a little personal experience. Over the
last ten years that I've been an ambassador with you guys,
We've met people women Max who have not been able
to have babies because they have half a kidney, and
to be able to have two very healthy children because
of the money that went into the research with the

(03:07):
Hospital Research Foundation group.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
We've met women with cancer in Wayala.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
They had nowhere to stay when they're having their treatment
and they were under their roof.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
They had this beautiful house.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
We've met bow cancer researchers, palliative care Parkinson's. You do
so much and it's all happening here in South Australia
and Max and I both as everybody is touched by cancer.
It's everywhere and to know that when you're donating that
money is going to something real and tangible is so important.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
And we're also doing a lot of work now at
the Prevented event. We're working with the big sports organizations
to try and get well being messages out to the
younger players by role models and you know the Sandful
and the Nepball so had really embraced that and so
you know, there's a lot of opportunity. And my colleague

(03:55):
Bryan who's with me today, is doing a lot of
work out in the Northern Suburbs for some of our
interventions around poverty and the way poverty impacts people's health
and well being and in poverty impacts the ability to
get to get work. Poverty impacts the ability to actually
get to the hospital, and so you know, we just
have an opportunity to contribute so much. It makes it

(04:17):
a really thrilling place to work. So, Paul Briani, should
we dive into this. I'm pretty excited.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I'm so nervous so it's a four point six million
dollar grand prize in the Hospital Research Home lottery. The
winner has been drawn officially this morning, and we are
going to try, hopefully they aren't, to try and make
that winning call next on Mixed one or two point three.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
I can't believe we're about to do this.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
I am all jittery and sweaty and nervous and excited.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
It's actually very bold of you to wear a little
marone jumper today because we can all see the wet.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Yeah, can you see it's shining through it. I'm actually
so excited we're about to call the person who is
going to win the four point six million dollar grand
prize in the Hospital Research Home Lottery.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
This is the most beautiful home in Walkerville, an absolutely
beautiful street. You get a bit of cash on top
of a just I don't know, buy a new toaster.
If you're not happy with the beautiful toast, it's already
in there.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Everything your life changes and this house, seriously, you walk in,
the hallway goes on forever. You got this beautiful pool.
It's four bedrooms, high ceilings. It is the actual dream house.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
There's a reading room. There is a reading room.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
This has gone. This is next level.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
This is why it's sold out because it is so
beautiful this house.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
Now, I want to just get out of the foot here.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I did buy a ticket in this so if my
phone rings, I will be answering my phone and you'll
be telling me just so you know, and.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
My family will be moving in with you.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
All right?

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Are you ready to make this phone call?

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Okay, oh my god, this is life changing?

Speaker 7 (05:51):

Speaker 6 (05:52):

Speaker 7 (05:54):

point three.

Speaker 1 (06:00):

Speaker 6 (06:59):

me your current situation. Have you got a partner?

Speaker 4 (07:11):

Speaker 7 (07:12):
